wonderful place to swim and take a rest. even though it is definitely lake, it is like small beach. not deep. warmer than ocean. i saw three lifeguards there.

Chocolate Lake Recreational Centre is a quiet but popular place which opposites the Chocolate Lake Beach. There is a gym&weight room, a multipurpose studio and a children care section. You can also see the Nova Scotia Life-saving office at the basement. It's good to hang out there to check what can meet your needs for activities.

Awesome staff who keep it real through these Covid times. Perfect relaxed environment for birthday parties with clean rooms and lots of tables and chairs. Washrooms and kitchen are spotless. Lots of parking and very reasonable rates. Thanks,

My boy was suppose to play at Albert j walker Field today but it got switched to this one ...I must say this field is a bit small and there's not really a place for parents to sit ...but if you turn off herring Cove Rd on to Forrest you can back you car up to the barrier and pop the trunk and sit on the bumper ..you can see the whole field from here... anyway the field is small..no place to sit it is however a nice secluded spot to practice

It's not the top rec centre but it's ok got all facilities but is a very old centre

Haven't been there in a while so the staff might be different. I took a class there as a kid. A girl did something really rude to me during the class, started an argument, and the staff without hesitation turned on me and were hostile towards me over nothing that I did. I left the class and later asked for a refund because I didn't want to be in that environment, and was refused. I've had a bad taste for this place ever since.

Great little rec center, lady at the front desk was cranky. She interuped while I was talking often and her demeanor was quite rude. My experience with Halifax Rec has almost always been a positive one until I had to go in and interact with this lady.

The facility is not state of the art and is showing its age, but as a municipal rec centre it has a decent little gym and some nice rec spaces.

The people running these programs work very hard to put on great programs for the children. The building however is in need of a lot of work, Halifax is really neglecting this building site.

Taking a course there now on photography, they have a professional who has been a photographer since the 70s and is still a professional in the feild. Friendly staff, clean venue and it is very cozy.

My son had the best time. Everything was perfect the gym and the party room!!! 5 stars for sure

Great place for kids to play and so many different programs they offer. Lack of infrastructure and management are the cons!
