Tub drain didn’t work so you couldn’t take a bath. Hot tub didn’t work either. Window in room didn’t open so it was stifling. Room was depressing like a motel 8. Staff were harsh/indifferent. At one point my newphew was having an allergic reaction and he got a pack of Benadryl. Front desk called up to the room immediately and I thought how nice they are checking on him and instead she coldly told me the $3.99 cent charge didn’t go thru. I told her her priorities were disappointing as I’d Paid 1600 for 4 night stay and could certainly cover the $3.99 once I was sure my nephew didn’t need to go to the ER. She argued that actually it was more important that the $3.99 be taken care of immediately. I checked my Amex and no such charge was attempted. That’s cold. And it seems slightly abusive/bullying if not wholly indifferent to human life. Anyway, not many choices in Hartford and you can’t expect much there as far as customer service so you’re kind of stuck with paying a lot to be treated like your life is worth less than $3.99.

I've been lucky enough to stay at this hotel several times, and every single time is better than the last! I don't even know where to start. The rooms are super comfy, 5 stars on every detail: the linen, the towels, the shower products, the TV, everything is FAB! As work brings me to Hartford often, and there's not an awful lot to do around here, I end up spending a considerable part of my trips at the hotel. I absolutely love the swimming pool and the jacuzzi, the gym is very well equipped (it has pretty much everything you'd get at your local gym). The Concierge Lounge adds a huge amount of comfort to my stays, as it saves me having to go out to get snacks and soft drinks. The space in general is very cosy and in terms of quality it absolutely matches (and even surpasses) many of the Airport Business Lounges I regularly visit. Service, in general, is great at this hotel, with very well-educated, qualified and friendly staff. But I need to mention a staff member in particular: On my most recent trip, I had some major personal issues I found no solution for. The check-in staff member JOYCE went absolutely out of her way, above and beyond to help me solve them, a task in which she succeeded fabulously. I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to Joyce for her help and she has not only made my stay a much better one, but she also helped me in my personal life moving forward. Things like this are what keeps bringing me to the Marriott in Hartford and the hotel is very lucky for having her in their team. See you all again soon!

You'd think that this far into the pandemic that hotels would have figured out a system for cleaning rooms when guests stay there all week long. I was so surprised to find that our room was not cleaned during our entire stay (Monday - Friday) and that we had to continually request fresh towels and toiletries. Our trash cans were never emptied. When we enquired at the front desk about getting information about local attractions, we were told they had nothing (which was surprising since this is the hotel attached to the Convention Center). The man went further to tell me that "all the businesses have shut down due to the pandemic." I know that is absolutely not true and was appalled by this lack of customer service.

Fantastic experience at this hotel! Property was immaculate and the front desk agent had a great personality. Corner room had tremendous views and again the room was SUPER clean and smelled fresh. The room had a smart tv and refrigerator. The indoor pool on the top floor provided gorgeous views in a relaxing environment to start the day. Highly recommend!

Another wonderful experience at our favorite hotel. Always lovely and clean hotel. Our experience was better thanks to the woman, Joyce, who was working the front desk when we checked in around 6pm on 02/25/22. Her and her good vibes added to our experience. Thank you Joyce! You rock!

Their customer service is almost non existent. Getting a simple reservation problem resolved should be quick and painless. They'll do anything they can to hang up the phone on you. Make sure to get your reservation confirmed and taken care of ahead of time, because they will NOT help you.

Very disappointed as soon as we stepped inside, super outdated room & the bathroom has disgusting old toilet that’s all scratched up. The pictures online is very deceiving. The furnitures are like the 1980’s pieces of junk that we donated to Goodwill. I went downstairs asked to switch the room, and they says we can switch you to a better room. My husband went to checkout first, it turned out to be the same outdated room and the light switches would not turn on. This Marriott is definitely not the Marriott we used to stayed, it feels like a Motel 6 to us. Definitely below our standards & will not come back here.

I was visiting for the weekend of the 90s Con and had a great experience with this hotel! Not only was it clean, but the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I did have an issue with my room rating, as the person who did my reservation over the phone months prior gave me a higher rate than the 90s con rate. However it was quickly resolved when I arrived. One thing I would recommend is for this luxurious hotel to have a shuttle or hotel transportation to the airport for customers. I was late for my flight because I had to relay on Uber/Lyft whom were 40 minutes late. Other than that, I would stay at this hotel again for sure.

I attended a conference at the Connecticut Convention Center which is adjacent to this hotel. Each morning I came over to pick up a hot breakfast from their banquet team and I received SUPERB service from Indrajit, Curtis, and Sam. I had an issue with my food order and not only did they replace my order they insisted that I get a refund. These individuals exuded customer service and were truly invested in making sure I was satisfied with my food and experience at the Marriott. I wish I had gotten to book a room at this hotel but they were sold out. You cannot beat this location if you're going to be at a Conference next door. It also doesn't hurt they have a Starbucks inside.

Great location and super friendly staff. Got a lot of great info when I checked in and everyone was very nice, cheery, and helpful. Room was ok, standard hotel setup. Took a couple of stars off because the mini fridge when the compressor turned on to cool it was a big whine noise and very loud, I had to unplug it to be able to sleep. Then the shower wouldn't fully engage. That little pull lever to turn the shower on instead of the bath faucet was all the way up but the faucet still ran lots of water. I let an employee know about those when I was checking out. A little frustrating especially considering the hotel rate and expected quality but I also doubt that it's representative of the whole hotel, I just got a bad room

I photographed a beautiful Pakistani wedding reception (Walima) here a few years back and this place is truly grandiose. The beautifully designed ceilings inside makes for very elegant and exquisite images. Staff is amazing. The lobby for the cocktail hour is well lit. Also, look for the beautiful and grand steps outside for some amazing wedding couples photos.

Great location, good size rooms, and friendly staff. The room’s sink and shower wasn’t draining well. They fixed the sink but shower wasn’t much improved. Overall great place just expected a bit more for the price.

No issues with this hotel. Pool and gym are in great shape and on the top floor. Guest rooms could use an update but aren’t bad. No free water at check in which was a little lame.

Rooms were pretty clean, furniture could use some update, staff were very nice, room service was prompt and the breakfast was delicious, Starbucks, breakfast and lunch restaurant in the lobby and a bar aswell (L Bar) it’s got a nice large pool and hot tub but don’t bother trying to get in the hot tub at night you are in for a long wait. So recommend you do it during the day. Got massages here and they were wonderful the staff were super sweet and welcoming. Overall satisfied with my stay here

Stayed here a couple nights for a conference around the corner. It's a great neighborhood right next to the Science Center and the UConn campus. The property and staff were all top notch. 5/5 recommend. The staff and service really sets this property apart! I want to mention and specifically thank operations manager Ana Schonrog. She was exceptionally accommodating and responsive in deftly taking care of an issue. Thank you! We visited in late September. Checkin was a breeze, and staff happily brought us extra towels, etc. Clean, spacious room on the concierge floor. Excellent location in close proximity to food and drink. The area is great to walk around. The free concierge breakfast was excellent. Definitely a step above! I also want to give a special thanks to the bartenders. They were kind and attentive. We will see you again!

Great place for a conference, just attended a conference for government technology at the Hartford Marriott Downtown. It's a great neighborhood right next to the Science Center and the UConn downtown campus. There's definitely entertainment and dining right out the door but in terms of the conference it was an excellent venue, easy parking, good technology, great food. The staff and service at this location always stand out as excellent.

Excellent hotel, I've stayed here every year for about 10 or so years now for Connecticon. The rooms are always spotless and spacious. The staff members are always pleasant and quick to provide room service when needed. This year, there seemed to be trouble with the a/c throughout the hotel rooms. All my friends and I couldn't get the temperature to get under 70 all weekend in our rooms. There were also problems with the TV, but the service person came to fix it within minutes. I had stayed in other hotels my first two years attending the convention, and once I stayed here, there was no going back. 11/10 hotel, in my opinion.

I had a confirmed reservation with the hotel for two nights, at check in, I was informed that the hotel is overbooked, and they said there is no room and need to move me to another affiliated hotel 15 miles away. At the same time, I saw they are checking in other guests (more than one guests). I pointed out there are rooms, but they say they need to turn me down because my company is not an affiliate with them. I said I do not accept this discrimination, I should be served first because I arrived earlier, but they don't seem to care and are not willing to help. They did not offer to refund the price difference between the two hotels, not even mention compensating the time I spent in commuting (the other hotel is way further), and they ask me to call Uber for transportation (they reimbursed the Uber cost though). It also appears they knew about the overbook situation ahead of time but they didn't reach out to me in advance. Overall it caused me a huge inconvenience. The situation started from their mismanagement of the booking system, and get worse with their discrimination. I will boycott this hotel forever.

The hotel was great, alittle dated in the rooms for the price that you pay (either in points or pay) but it is convenient to the Children's Museum. The pools hot tub is metal and extremely slippery. Please Marriott place grips on the stairs entering the water as we are (young and middled aged) adults that almost fell. It is a hazard for very young and elderly. The pool is "heated" but still cold. The staff were extremely nice and well versed in giving ideas of where to visit in Hartford.

Just like all high end Marriott Hotels , Hartford Marriott is gorgeous, located right off highway exit. Valet parking. They let me park out front so they can watch my German Shepherd while I go & eat. Speaking of food, Marriott has an outstanding menu, great wine selections.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ .ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your place. This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I've been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't be disappointed. Attended Latinas and Powers Symposium at the Marriott. Plated lunch was phenomenally good! I had the salmon. Desserts were delicious. Services were excellent.

I checked in on a busy Friday night for a wedding weekend. Got sick through the night. Gretchen at the front desk was so helpful in the morning on so many levels. I had chamomile tea for breakfast and asked for a robe (since I had no stay in bed clothes packed) robe was dropped off by housekeeping within minutes. . Silly, but I felt cared for. Thank you to Gretchen and housekeeping for your outstanding customer service!

What a great hotel! The location is great and there is so many things in walking distance. The check in was one of the best that I have had. The ladies working the front desk were very personable! The hotel is very clean and up to date and the bed and pillows were comfortable!

We have stayed at this property several times and had always had a good experience. We're Titanium and have been upgraded often. Most recent visit was the first time we were able to use the pool. It's clean and we'll maintained. The spa is ok but compared to other Marriott spas it has limited staff and offerings. The bathroom was not as nice as I expected. No towels and the shower needs some attention. Best guess is that things are coming back slowly post COVID. Overall recommend this property. It's comfortable.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. They compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you choose this place you won't regret it. I stayed here on a business trip. Was upgraded to a corner room with beautiful city views. This location has a concierge room, with spectacular views and snacks. It also has a pool and spa, along with a great lobby. The check-in is around back.

Overall our stay was fine. The room was dated but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was simple and they gave me a free voucher since I just became a member and that was really nice of them since breakfast vouchers are based on points. The hotel is right next to the science museum and there are a few restaurants in walking distance. There isn't much else going on there: no shops etc, pretty desolate. The pool was small and not deep which was good for the kids but the hot tub was not working and the water looked murky.

The hospitality employees were informative, exceptional and accommodating. The housekeepers were thorough throughout the hotel. The room was clean and tidy. Definitely a hotel I'd consider returning to. Thank you!

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. The people who work at this hotel are wonderful. Thanks so much to Sam from Alabama and Joey at the front desk for your warmth, great sense of humor, and readiness to help.

I stayed here on a business trip. Was upgraded to a corner room with beautiful city views. This location has a concierge room, with spectacular views and snacks. It also has a pool and spa, along with a great lobby. The check-in is around back. The only shortfall is they chare for parking. There is a discount for hotel guests however

Wonderful location for walking around and seeing the sights. Which there many more than you may think in the area. To the staff from the front desk, restaurant, and bar were always pleasant and had a smile. Which says something, because from a large wedding to an even larger conference, they had their hands full all weekend! We wouldn't hesitate to give this Marriott another stay very soon.

Came here as a family trip with extended family, they all accommodated for us all on the same floor. The rooms were clean and nicely updated, and the service was amazing. The location was also good. For being in downtown Hartford, the prices for a nice hotel were good too. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice enough hotel. TERRIBLE GYM. Considering the location I would expect this place to have more equipment. If they were to add dumbbells to 75 lbs and a wider variety of machines it would be much better. As someone who spends half the year in hotels, a good bad gym can really ruin an experience just like and other lack of amenity. Another option would be to offer a partnership with the YMCA right down the road.
