Arrived late at night with 3 bags most of which was brought for Cuban families. The staff stood around and watched me snuggle in the dark trying to find my room in the dark no help was offered (I have had four joint replacements). They have wifi but no wifi cards. They had no beer for two days. I took a cab to the city to pick up beer and wifi cards. (20.00 CUC) My room had a TV that didn't work a shower with no showerhead and no toilet seat. This is a Cuban resort and they certainly don't need or want tourists. The pool was dirty and full of Cubans on days passes. No English or any activies aimed at tourism. . I think it should be delisted or recomend for one or two days only as a place to sleep when visiting Holguin. The front desk never had any useful information including the phone number for the holasun Rep or who or when was picking me up for my return trip to Toronto. I had to call Toronto to get contact information. I've been to Cuba many times this was my worst experience so far.I gave it a one star because the view is amazing but the staff need hospitality training.

Mirador is an adorable mountainside country resort. Have a beer or cafe in the open air lobby or dining room with their breathtaking view of the surrounding day and night sky countryside. The rooms (I rate them a B-) while not high-end, are quaint small Spanish style bungalows with air conditioning, spread along a lush path down to a pool area hanging off the hillside. Built as the Castro era was being born and later a perk for the military, government and external supporters (Russians), Mirador is today a simple, charming, eco-style resort for foreigners and "some" locals. Don't look for US style amenities, and please understand that this is still a communist country where the average worker earns the equivalent of $30-40 per month (if you go please tip well) and simple amenities like effective plumbing are scarce. So the locals can't afford expensive escapes. But if you're a visitor looking for something off the traditional Cuban path and can enjoy tropical wilderness, Mirador with it's quaint accommodations are something you need to experience if you are in the Holguin area.
