An interesting museum for those who would like to know more about Communism and Romania's socialist history. Important note: while this place can bring out the nostalgia from those who lived the era's, it's not a place to cherish the dictator or the struggle's of the nation. Also, not a place to show you the comrade's (in)successes. You can go to North Korea for that experience. It's purely a historical and cultural time-travel, a great one in the field!

An amazing private collection offering a great view on the communist period of Romania. An extremely wide variety of items covering all kind of social or economical aspects. If you want to understand a little better how life was behind the Iron Courtain, you really should visit it. When you visit the Castle, you will notice all the industrial ruin’s surrounding it, remains of the biggest steel complex in Romania, the communism Museum is exactly the missing link that will help you to better get in the atmosphere Part of the private vising tours made by The Saxon House Garbova.

An unexpectedly amazing location. On our way to 'Castelul Corvinilor' we saw this musem and agreed to visit it the next day at first light and, oh wow, was it worth it. It's an amazing collection of communist memorabilia. We spent about an hour and a half there, taking pictures and talking to the local guide. This is a private collection and is maintained through ticket sales and donations, there are no politics involved whatsoever. They even have a local guide that will give you a quick tour of the museum, is a wealth of knowledge and loves to answer any kind of questions one might have. It's a really underrated location, and well worth visting when in Hunedoara.

A very interesting and informative talk from a very passionate owner. Having never studied the transition in the late 90’s, this was a really interesting visit and I would recommend to anyone.

10/10 down memory lane. If you are born before 1990, you gotta visit. If you are born after 1990, you still gotta visit to get a feel of how that era felt like.

This museum is highly recommended! The owner put it together himself and is a great guide who tells everything with passion! As a Romanian abroad, only the negative is told about history, so it was very educational to see the beautiful sides of communism. really recommended. Multumesc frumos!

What a treasure trove full of very interesting things which painted a really good picture of what life was like in Romania during the communist era. It was lovely speaking to the owner (and his mother too) who was very passionate about his collections and clearly put in a lot of personal hard work and investment. Well worth a visit.

Very very interesting place to visit. The only stories about communism I know from grandparents, parents and school and it was nice to finally put a picture in my head for all those stories. It’s also eye opening to realise and to be thankful for how many options we have today

Absolutely wonderful place, a private collection not a state run museum so it is quite small. The lady at the reception is the wife of the owner of the collection and I never felt so welcomed at a museum. Time well spent there and 4 euros well spent

Amazing experience and a piece of history that we all need to learn. The subject is very sensitive here in Romania but I would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn about the communist era. The objects in the museum are very authentic and you don't need other presentations. If you know some basic stuff about communist era in Romania, you can imagine the life that our parents/grand parents had to live.
