As a weekly business traveler and Diamond member, 100+ nights this year, I am extremely disappointed with this property. I requested two days in a row for housekeeping. During check in guests are advised that privacy please signs will be respected and housekeeping will not be performed. Perfect. No problem. I actually never use the privacy please door hanger because I wake up early for work and return well after 5. Repeat: I have never and didn’t use the well respected privacy please door hanger. After the second request for housekeeping I asked why the service wasn’t performed. The reply, face to face with the front counter, was that my privacy please sign was hanging on my door knob. A complete lie. Lied straight to my face. I’ve been denied housekeeping before for reasons of staff shortages, forgot. The truth. In this case, a lie. My take on this is that when you check in and are advised of the policy this info is relayed to the staff and is used to not finish their assigned housekeeping rooms. I travel four nights a week. When I come “home” from work, having toilet paper in the room is nice. Fresh bath towels is nice. Having to go down to the front desk and request toilet paper and bath towels is a horrible way to end the day. The housekeeping request is made so that when I come “home” and need to take a shower and use the bathroom I am able to do so without having to request toilet paper and bath towels.

My name is Evelyn Melvin, and I just wanted to let you know how I am upset about my experience of booking a room at one of your hotels Homeward Suites Jacksonville,Florida Southbank through the honors program and one of your employees under your company made a mistake and now I’m paying the price for it. I called on October 25,2022 with a gentleman of Spanish decent and I booked my room for December 24-26, after talking with him I was transferred to the honors program and I talked to A Jonathan who was a sweet gentleman who explained everything to me. He said everything is okay and said he hoped I will enjoy my stay. This was my first time and I was excited because it was a surprise for the family, My daughter being a skeptic made me call back and she Iterated. The information that I’m fact booked the presidential Suite on December 24-26. So today December 15 to make sure everything was ok because I didn’t hear anything about it, So still excited about my choice I called to make sure everything was ok. It quickly turned sour I was told that my reservation was cancelled, after further investigation the person had made the room for October 24-26 which in itself is baffling when I called to book on October 25. And to insult me more I didn’t even get a cancellation either. So I was given the run around not only was my room not available, but they weren’t going to honor it due to mistakes on the company end. Also the points that I had was took. I was treated so badly I am in such pain and disbelief that the one gift I could give has been snatched away making my Christmas one the worst ever. It always says that my call is recorded for customer satisfaction. After I asked for the corporate number the woman on the phone said the only way that we could get transferred to corporate was through her line. She transferred us over to someone and as soon as I was about to explain the phone was hung up in the middle of my explanation, as if I wasn’t upset enough about my first experience. I know I have taken up to much of your time but I have heard highly positive things about Hiton but after today I don’t know. I hope you enjoy you enjoy your holidays Mr. Christopher Nasaetta because mine has been ruined. Yours Truly Evelyn Melvin

Very nice hotel. Accessible by public transit, which is a big plus, especially in a car-centric city like Jacksonville. The staff is professional and effective.

Very nice Hotel. The Staff was very professional and engaging. I booked it twice in the same week. I like the location because it was close to everything I was there to do. It's one of Hilton's combo Hotels Homewood Suites and a Hilton Garden Inn. There is a big difference between a Suite and an Inn namely Suites have full kitchens and Inns have mini fridges and microwaves.

To be totally honest, the hotel will convince you upon arrival that's it an updated modern hotel. The lobby and guest services appear clean, organized and modern. Once you step foot in the elevator and arrive at your designated floor; you immediately notice the difference. The elevators on all the floors, except the main level are outdated. Furnishings and decor is unkempt and outdated. When I went to my room, there was film on my shower stall and hair on one of the towels. I immediately went to a different location.

This is the email I sent to Jeff, Director of Operations at the location in question Jeff, We have several issues that we need addressed if someone can contact me. Issues that need to be immediately addressed by Hilton: - We were put in a dirty room, the tub was not clean (see attached image dirty unclean tub). - We came to check in at 2pm and were told our room was not ready and it would not be ready until 3pm.  We went back to the front desk at 3:30pm to check on the status of the room.  Beth (the front desk clerk) went back and forth with housekeeping to find us a room, with the housekeeper telling her that room 536 was ready to go.  Which is the room we were given. - Dirty towel was in the bathroom, the linens on the pull out couch had not been changed, my wife had to change them as the housekeeper had already left for the night (see attached image unclean sheets and blankets). - The towel bar in the bathroom was coming out from the wall (see attached image towel rack). - On Friday and again on Saturday, when this was brought to the attention of the front desk,  we were told a reduced room rate would be given for our stay but now we are being charged more than what was originally proposed (via the Hilton website) when we booked the room, without the discount for the inconvenience. - The room smelled like smoke as soon as we walked in.  At first, we weren't sure why until we found Black & Mild wrappers on the floor where our kids were playing (see 2 attached images for the Black & Mild wrappers).  This just confirmed our suspicion that the room was not cleaned properly. - Then only 1 working elevator for 2 properties (with over 150 units between the two buildings) for 2 days. Attachments: - Invoice Dated 2/26/2023 - Picture of Original Booking Email illustrating a different final cost - Pictures of feces on the unclean bathroom wall - Pictures of the dirty / unclean bathtub - Pictures of the unclean / dirty sheets on pullout couch - Picture of black and mild labels on an unclean floor.  This would explain the awful smoke smell in our room. In closing, this was one of the worst Hilton stays my family has experienced. Ever!  I have been a Diamond member for years and cannot remember the last time we had such an awful experience.

By far the worst hotel I have stayed at Multiple issues Hotel manager Jeff Mercado and management aware ACs here make helicopter noise and do not stop Bathrooms run down and stained Elevators slow Hear this: My AC from cool to hot - my room then smells like smoke and burning - the fire alarm goes off - absolutely no one aware. You would think that the hotel would know that fire alarm is going off and call…. Nope! Minutes go by. So I hit the guest services desk button on the phone - no one picks up. So I pick my my cell phone and call the Hilton number from the phone and the front desk person tells me that they weren’t aware that smoke alarm is going off… and that don’t worry it’s normal and all the ACs do that… when it goes from cool to hot- “the dust inside the AC is being burnt and all you need to do is blow into it” - sorry about the smoke alarm, it’ll stop. It’s 2AM on a Monday night and you want me to blow into the AC like it’s a Nintendo game so that the fire alarm going off stops. Is this a joke? Is this real life at a Hilton in Dec 2023? I can’t make this up. Also, agree with other rooms about blood stains being found on furniture. One guest described the hotel as being like the one from the movie the Shining. Stay away unless you have absolutely no other choice. For gods sake - the folks here even tell you to ignore the smoke alarms and that there’s nothing they can do about it …. Huge red flags. I can’t make this stuff. You been warned. Pro tip - cover your AC with blankets if you can't turn it off and it's making a ton of noise. The staff doesn't care if it's helicopter loud and keeps you up.

Stayed in the two bedroom king suite. The room was unsanitary and needed updating badly. As soon as I opened the fridge there was a horrendous smell of rotten fish, it literally engulfed the entire room. I was unable to use the fridge because every time it was opened, the entire room stunk worse. The carpets were stained. There were two spots of blood on the bed sheets, there was hair in the jetted tub, there was no liner for the ice bucket, there were stains on the couch, paneling peeling off the cabinets. I could go on and on, ultimately I decided to leave due to those reasons and was in the room less than 4 hours. Would NEVER return. The location is ideal if you’re looking to be in the San Marco area and close to downtown, but I wouldn’t stay again even if it were free.

I stay at a lot of Hilton hotels. This was by far the worst. The location was great. The folks in the lobby were nice except the person who checked me in. I arrived very late and had to check in at the adjoining Garden Inn. My company has a negotiated rate with Hilton. I was questioned about this and was told that she would review this and charge the appropriate amount as needed. I ignored that and checked in. The room was disgusting! The carpet was so dirty I would not walk on it even with socks on. The upholstery was so dirty I only sat on the bed. I was making coffee in the morning and saw roaches scurrying behind the counter and wall cracks. The room also smelled horrible. Like sewage and mold and dirty feet. Yuck! My coworker also had a room here. We were supposed to stay a whole week but we had to leave after 2 nights. Should have left after 1 but the area is very nice. I hate to give such a bad review but someone needs to let them know.

Everything was fabulous! The people were literally the best people we’ve ever met! We traveled from NC to go to a Jags game and stayed for 2 nights. We learned that our tire was completely flat the day we were supposed to travel back to NC. We began to call AAA to get towed to the closet auto shop when Miss Moe (the woman at the front desk) told us she had a tire pump machine in her car. She immediately went to go get it so we could pump the tire just enough to get us to Firestone. Justice (the valet person) saw what was happening and offered his services to do the pumping for us. We were extremely grateful for their willingness to help us! This hotel has people who care for all, even if they don’t know you from Adam. If we come back to Jacksonville again, we will make sure to stay here! They cared for us as if we were their own, and we are forever grateful for that!

If you have any issues with your room then good luck. I contacted front desk at 8:00 AM about our a/c not working. We left our room and was told it would be fixed. Got back 8 hours later and still not fixed. Called again and they said they would send someone up. Still no one showed up 2 hours later. Horrible service.

First and foremost, the staff was wonderful and friendly, check in-out was quick and easy. My wife and I stayed on the 4th floor, room was spacious. Those are the pros. The cons, i woke up the second night with bug bites on my arm, back and back of the neck. It wasn’t from the bed because my wife and 2 year old son didn’t have any bites on them. I did note that I took a nap on the couch. I searched to see if there we’re bugs on the couch but due to the couch itself being dark and the lighting was poor (only 2 plug in lamps on both corners of the room) we couldn’t detect them. The wall thermostat would show 70 but wouldn’t go lower then 74. Hot tub was out of order. And when we arrived to our room, there was dirty Lenin’s and garbage bags by our door that didn’t get pick up till the following day. This was my first bad experience with Homewood suites. Usually really clean and no problems ever happen. The staff was super nice and so was the night front desk lady.

Don't expect them to have your room available, even if you reserved and pre paid for it. Don't expect them to do much about it either. Don't even expect a toothbrush. If you have to be in downtown Jacksonville, the location is close to everything. But the hotel left a lot to be desired.

Our room was absolutely filthy. Unfortunately, we had been on the road for the entire day, checking in at 8pm. We went to the lobby restaurant and then returned to our room to settle in at 10pm to find stained carpet, stained linens, hair in the bathtub drain, random stains on window coverings, chairs, and the pullout sofa. If it weren’t for the fact that we are a family of six and it being so late, we would have left. We requested replacement linens for the stained ones and staff just came up and dropped them in my wife’s hands. No offer to change them, rather clearly expecting us to do it. As an HHonors member who stays exclusively at Hilton properties, it was incredibly disappointing. Furthermore, when I reached out to Hilton Guest Assistance to share these photos and my experience, they just want to push me back to call the general inquiries phone line for this specific location. We spent over $400 for a two bedroom King corner suite. Completely disappointed given the experience.

Hilton seems to have given up in post COVID era. We’re Diamond level members, and these findings are consistent with different properties we’ve been to. The rooms are very dirty. The breakfast offering seems scaled back. The room furnishings are old and tattered and dirty. The sinks never drain. Clocks are not set.

Work trip, in a job where I travel and have status with Hilton Hotels so I’ve seen many a room including homewood suites and there were hostels nicer than my experience here. The staff are great, it’s the only pro. The location and the cleanliness is not. I don’t know how they can in good conscience call this a clean room. There’s clearly leaking shower parts and this amount of grime doesn’t just crop up overnight. There’s blood in the bathroom tile and there’s stains in the carpet (not pictured). And hairballs in places I did not venture to sit on/by. If I didn’t come from a 13 hr travel day I’d have left right away. Add that the fire alarm went off and the explanation was “the kitchen doesn’t like to use the air vents when cooking” feels like a safety violation to me. I’ve stayed at the Hilton garden next door before but as these are attached buildings/hotels, after this experience (and a tepid previous experience at the double tree on the river), I’m never staying in a Hilton JAX hotel again. Whomever is running these hotels clearly doesn’t care about their guests or staff for it to be like this.

Although I paid a decent price for my room for the night I cannot stay I my room, as an eight month pregnant woman, because I am being tortured by people who decided to join the single largest child exploiting human trafficking ring in history instead of calling the police. I'm not sure if it's staff or guests, or probably both, but they are about the stupidest and most awful people we could have in society and they should be stripped of having control in even their own lives as they are such a liability, a threat to society, and a threat to national security. You can't trust people who will do anything for money, are so deviant they don't involve the police, or are so inept they can't distinguish truth from fiction.

Homewood Suites collection of properties has been my first ever stay outside home and the most liked and comfortable all the time. I have stayed at Homewood Suites in different states when I travelled and always enjoyed everything about it including the Checkin, Bed, Lenins, Toiletries, Breakfast. I would like to share the experience about our stay at this particular hotel property. It is disappointing to some extent considering the following things if they can be improved, it might be of better experience to future Travellers like us - 1. Checkin took really longer than expected and also the keys issued only worked once each time until we had to go and check 3 times whenever we stepped out to see that they are not working. 2. Breakfast was more disappointing- Grits were there instead of hot oatmeal which we get at almost every Homewood suites property stayed. There aren’t any side toppings for it. Cut fruit collection was not that fresh or good and variety was way less, again compared to our previous stays. There was just Dannon yogurt of one Vanilla flavor. Usually we have seen several varieties of yogurts. Potatoes made weren’t that good looking. We don’t care or look for other things in breakfast as we are vegetarians. However anywhere we stayed we got a very good and quality breakfast buffet, somehow the stay here was surprising with very very limited options and for the price we pay on top of which there is a separate fee for parking, we expected much better rather it was disappointing. We get a better breakfast buffet at Hampton Inn or other brand of hotel properties at similar level. We even brought another family with us expecting they would enjoy a great breakfast and they also had same experience about all of above. We enjoyed the snooker table though. Surprised to see that there isn’t bath tub in our unit and May be at this property there isn’t any , and instead there is the standing shower which is okay.

Our family members were in town for a wedding, and we had four rooms for five and six nights. I stayed for five nights, and all was very nice. My room was clean and there were so many towels I did not have to ask for service. Beth and India at the front desk were both very helpful and friendly, and made us feel as if they really cared about our well-being. Lisa in the kitchen took great care of the status of the breakfast items and was a friendly face and voice in the mornings.

Decided not to spend the night. Carpets throughout the hotel were dirty and an omen of the room to come. Room was cleaned but not clean, French fry left on the floor. Mirror closet door off the track. Drips of something on the sink. My son's room had blood stained sheets. This place needs to be totally overhauled if not demolished to start again

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. And it’s a Hilton?!? First room, the “upgrade” smelled strongly of old cigarette smoke, had a stained headboard, unknown substances (looked like pee and or blood) on the curtains and walls, and furniture that was functional but clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Refrigerator also hadn’t been cleaned. Eww. After we complained, our new room didn’t smell like smoke but other than that it was essentially the same. And had a broken bathtub. Once again, I can’t believe this was a Hilton property.

During my recent stay at Hilton, I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional guest service from one of their representatives name Ursla who went above and beyond to ensure my room was perfect, despite encountering a series of unfortunate events. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this representative was dedicated to providing the highest level of service. However, we encountered a few setbacks as the first three rooms we were assigned turned out to be unclean. Despite the initial disappointment, this representative remained calm, empathetic, and determined to rectify the situation. She immediately apologized for the inconvenience and swiftly arranged for the cleaning staff to address the issue for the next guests. Not only did this representative take personal responsibility for the situation, but they also demonstrated a genuine concern for my comfort and satisfaction. They offered me a temporary area to relax in while the room inspection by her was processed and was completed, ensuring that I had a comfortable place to wait. Throughout this process, they consistently kept me informed about the progress and estimated timelines, which helped to alleviate any anxiety I might have had. After she had finished the work, the representative personally inspected the room to ensure it met the high standards of Hilton. Realizing that the inconvenience had taken up a significant portion of my time, they thoughtfully offered me a complimentary upgrade to a suite as a gesture of goodwill. This unexpected act of generosity truly exceeded my expectations and made me feel valued as a guest. What truly set this representative apart was their unwavering commitment to ensuring my satisfaction. They went the extra mile by arranging for a personalized welcome amenity in my upgraded suite, complete with a handwritten note expressing their apologies for the inconvenience. This thoughtful gesture demonstrated their genuine care and attention to detail, making me feel like a valued and appreciated guest. Throughout my stay, this representative continued to check in on me, ensuring that everything was to my satisfaction. They provided recommendations for local attractions and dining options, enhancing my overall experience. It was evident that they took great pride in their role as a Hilton representative and were genuinely invested in creating a memorable stay for their guests. In the end, my stay at Hilton turned out to be exceptional, thanks in large part to the outstanding efforts of this guest service representative. Despite the initial setbacks, their professionalism, attentiveness, and dedication to ensuring my room was right truly made a lasting impression. Their commitment to guest satisfaction and willingness to go above and beyond exemplified the high standards Hilton is known for. I left Hilton with a sense of gratitude and admiration for this representative, and I wholeheartedly commend them for their exceptional service. Ursla deserves a raise and promotion and this is why I will always choose Hilton because of people like her.

I love all Homewood Suites hotels. This hotel meets and even exceeds other Homewoods that I have stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and offer a feeling of being at home. They provide self cooking options and utensils that were in good condition. The front desk personnel were professional and courteous. The hotel is located in beautiful downtown Jacksonville, Florida that has many good options available. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is one of my favorites! The suites are nice, love the pool and jacuzzi. They include breakfast, and at one time they included an evening meal...not sure if its only certain days. They have great sitting/social areas, oh and the drinks at the restaurant next door are soo good. Great bartender, its in the hotel. I would definitely recommend, we enjoy the stay everytime. Prices are reasonable as well.

We arrived early and hung out by the pool while we waited for our room. So cozy the poolside vibe was. Rita at the front desk was very helpful and kind. Check in was seemless and appreciated. The room was as advertised and we had no complaints. It was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot! The hotel was a short Uber ride to the event downtown. Highly recommend and we will be back.

I'm rating this hotel a 1 star due to an issue that occurred during checkout concerning parking fees and my interaction with the Front Office Manager (Michelle) who was rude and unwilling to resolve the issue. Otherwise, my family and I enjoyed our stay and the other employee interactions were pleasant. I have stayed at many hotels within the Hilton Brand in the past and everyone was always friendly and worked to resolve any issues in a satisfactory manner. Maybe, Michelle didn't get the customer satisfaction memo!! I definitely would NOT stay at this hotel again!

Hotel charged my credit card for the two days each, two different rooms; but did not release the hold charge. Therefore, I am being charged for two additional rooms and my credit card is enjoying the interest charges even though I stayed at the hotel last weekend and the full charge went through the following Monday. This double charge on my credit card is during the weekend of Black Friday deals and when I planned to book my flight to see my Children- who I have not seen in a year and a half! Furthermore, we were told after our check in: the beer/wine evening reception was not available to us the entire weekend. so we didn't get a part of what we pay for in the hotel stay charges/fees. Of note, the hotel receptionist Moe and the breakfast attendants Lisa, William, and the Sunday morning crew were very accommodating and hospitable. Jeff Mercado is the manager of the Homewood suites by Hilton, downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

This is by far the nastiest Hilton hotel I have ever seen. The rugs are dirty/stained, the chairs are stained, the tub is floor is nasty, bed sheets have stains, and the pull out sofa (pee stains!!) ..serioiusly..this is the Hilton. GM go check your rooms even lobby furniture is nasty, I would NEVER stay here. Jacuzzi not in service. This does NOT meet any Hilton brand standard...someone please go do an inspection. You have to do better.

As a lifetime diamond club member, I can honestly say that this might be the worst property in Hilton portfolio. The first room they gave us had an odor that I cannot even describe, on top of the overall condition of the room. The second room had less of an odor, but what it lacked in odor, it made up in filth. Upon making up the pullout bed, we found a pill right on the mattress! If that pill was found by a small child, we might have had a tragedy in our hands. The evening of our stay, we requested additional towels, they took our room number, but I guess that was just for show, because we never got the towels! This hotel needs a MAJOR redo….until that happens, don’t bother!

Was provided a room by my property management company. The customer service representative at Homewood Suites was less than helpful in the checkin process due to wanting to charge a premium for something that was already paid for. When she enlisted the help of her supervisor the supervisor had a snippy attitude after I told her what the problem was. When I asked for her name she refused to give it and wasn’t wearing any identifying badges. Her response was, “don’t worry about my name.” They refused to speak to the property management company to rectify the situation. They not only ended up charging us the premium for the room but also tried to charge an extra $200. Luckily my bank refused it probably to prevent fraud. Once I got into the room it smelled like stale smoke. Somebody didn’t abide by the no smoking room and they apparently didn’t have it properly cleaned after the last guest as a result. I don’t feel like a guest here. One other thing that happened as I was checking in someone came to the front desk exclaiming that they were robbed at the pool. This place apparently doesn’t have any security whatsoever in the heart of Jacksonville. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Shame on this company’s management. I have slept at Homewood suites before and received excellent service. Yet this particular operation lacks in all aspects so far. I wouldn’t be staying here if I had the choice as it was all set up through my property management company.

Okay hotel that met my needs. THE GOOD: Location was convenient to downtown and to I-95. There are a few restaurants, a brewery, and an ice cream shop within walkable distance, which was nice! Room was nice, especially for an extended stay (I was there for a week for business). Full-size fridge/freezer, stovetop (no oven), full-size microwave, and dishwasher. THE SUB-OPTIMAL: Pool is pretty small considering it's shared between Homewood and Garden Inn, and if you're one who likes to sit out by the pool and soak up the sun, the deck is fairly small and it's tucked next to the building to it's almost completely covered in shade by midday. The on-site restaurant is currently closed (although they do still have breakfast every morning, that's different!), but as noted above, there are plenty of options in walking distance, and Uber Eats, Doordash, etc. are certainly available if you don't have a vehicle. Dishes in my room were hit-or-miss, like whatever was left laying around or not stolen by previous guests. I had 4 glasses, 2 bowls, 2 plates, only 1 fork, 2 spoons, but 4 knives?? Not an issue for me because it was just me, but that would be pretty inconvenient for a family. Would have also like to have a dish sponge to wash dishes by hand - I get that there's a dishwasher, but that's pretty inefficient to run an entire dishwasher just to wash my plate and one (and only!) fork. THE MISCELLANEOUS: Parking garage is convenient to the hotel and first floor of the parking garage is reserved for hotel guests. It seemed like there were a couple busy days during my stay, and there was still enough parking available. Parking charge includes unlimited in-out with your room key. There are some "free" Diamond Member parking spots outside, but it's hit-or-miss if they're actually available, and I'd bet that most of the people parking in them weren't actually Diamond members (or they just get a LOT of Diamond members at this hotel)

Great location near transportation options. We took the river taxi from the Southbank River walk for the Jags playoff game. The room space was great. Dirty dish was still in the dishwasher in room and bottle cap between table and wall. Everything was great.

Here on business and this hotel was great. The staff was amazing, shout out to Beth for going over and above when we had an issue that was not the hotel's fault, breakfast each morning was an energizing experience thanks to a singing staff member, and the room was perfect.

Homewood is one of my favorite Hiltons to stay in. I love the atmosphere, the full kitchen in the rooms and the rooms are always spacious. I love the amount of open space in the common area. These hotels are always so clean and the breakfast is good! Love that it has a hot tub also!
