The rooms are incredibly nice. I'm in Kansas City for business and sometimes have to make quick changes of plans. There has been two times at this specific hotel that I have canceled before the deadline and still receive the charge. One time would be one thing but twice makes me believe they do it frequently and expect people not to catch it. Be careful

I was hesitant at first to use the valet service because the price didn't seem reasonable. HOWEVER after Marty assisted me going above and beyond, assuring I was satisfied I can say without a doubt in my mind I will be coming back, I do hope you consider him for leadership, as a business owner I have an eye for potential, and he has it! One of the most respectful people I spoke to during my stay! On a more balanced note, I mean this respectfully, the Bar could use some work, they asked me four times if I was staying in the Marriott within 5 minutes despite me showing them my room card, then said things like "we normally charge people for water who aren't staying in the Marriott"... directly after me informing them I was indeed staying, point being I felt ignored and disrespected via tonality and neglect thus I don't even remember this barkeeps name. Anyways! Marty redeemed the trip for me! Another honorable mention for helpful employees is Hunter! (Front desk management) best of luck Marriott!

This hotel was sufficient. I've definitely stayed in better Marriott properties in other cities. The staff were very helpful and the venue lobby was newer. There was a police officer posted in the lobby which was a first for me. The hotel & area didn't look sketchy at all but leaves me to question. Why the police presence? Would stay again

Where to begin! We had a banquet part with my company down here. We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel and enjoying ourselves at our company event. However upon arrival we were told by Valet that the parking garage was full and that we should go park in a garage 2 blocks away from the hotel. Parking was suppose to be validated per company invite. However there was a different garage in which Midway was suppose to park but we did not find out until 2 hours into the event. We paid the $10 to park in garage 2 blocks away and then moved vehicle to the correct parking garage we were suppose to use and the next morning (after our stay at the hotel) paid another $24! The receptionist at the front desk was very rude while checking us in. No smile or courteousness at all! He could not tell us were exactly the event was that we were trying to get to. We had to roam around until we found it. The hotel refused to validate parking even though they were the ones that had miss informed us and told us were to park. Now that was just the nightmare with parking.... We we arrived to our room it appeared to be cleaned. Then we were to shower after the event and the bathtub has rust around the faucets and someone's dirty rags were still hanging in the shower(Gross!)! This was my first and my last time staying at this hotel. There are much better options out side of the downtown area that are much better at cleanliness and customer service!

First time visiting the city in this hotel. I was very happy with the hotel very nice easy check in there was a convention going on at the time so elevator rides were a little crowded during peak times however no other issues. The gym was really nice on-site food options for great, and bar what is nice.

Fantastic, accommodating service - starting from Mikel at check-in all the way through check-out. The staff was friendly, attentive and went out of their way to be helpful - from route advice to restaurant recommendations - they were truly what you expect from a Marriott experience. The bar and kitchen even stayed open a little later to accommodate myself and some fellow travelers who’s flights got in late. Rooms were big, nice and clean with great views of the city. Will 100% stay here again when in KC. Thanks for a great experience!

Pretty good sized rooms, quite clean, lobby seemed like there was some wasted space, but it wound up getting filled up pretty quickly and accommodated a huge rush of people attending a conference. Parking was a little sparse under the hotel, but across the street was more (the under hotel had about 60 spaces or so delegated to valet which seemed a little much). Views were nice, conference amenities were satisfactory, elevator system was a bit odd (punch in the room number at a touch screen in the lobby then it told you which elevator to go to; probably more efficient but still strange). I would recommend staying here!

The room was nicely set up and comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. The buffet lunch and breakfasts provided for the conference I was attending were delicious with plenty of varied options. Downsides: Internet access password not given at check-in. No info on hotel in the room, like a list of services and map of the hotel; that includes no map and info on the surrounding area. Corridors were extremely cold. Strong chemical odor in the skyway between buildings. No concierge, so if you had a question you had to stand behind everyone waiting to check in.

Wow, what a stay! From the moment I pulled in I had a great 360 degree experience: valets came up to my window to say hi to me and my dog, the lobby area was massive and immaculate, rooms were spotless (and huge), room service food made me feel like I was home instead of on the road, showers had a ton of water pressure, response time from the front desk on the Marriott app was 30 seconds. Perfect stay. My fiancé used to work for Marriott for years and would always say how great of a company it was to work for. I’ve never been brand loyal to one hotel, but after my last few stays at Marriott hotels I’m a loyalist! This last stay pushed me over the edge to loyalty

I’d give the Kansas City Marriott Downtown a solid 3.5/5 stars. The location downtown and the close proximity to the Power and Light district was great. I loved that everything was within walking distance, from coffee shops, to the library and even bars and restaurants. While the location of the hotel was great, I ended up in the West Wing. It was quite a trek to get from the parking garage underneath, to the hotel, to the west wing. It was safe to say I got my steps in staying here. The parking garage was a tad expensive and tight. It was annoying to go from the garage elevator to the hotel elevator, to walk to the West Wing, and then up that elevator. The room was pretty clean and quiet. The staff interactions at the front desk were pleasant, and we had no issues checking in. Overall, this was a nice experience staying here, just wish we were in the actual hotel and not the West Wing.

I stayed here for almost a month and had nothing but exceptional service! From the friendliest Valet’s who assisted me with whatever I needed, to the concierge‘s at the front desk who were more than happy to assist me with any questions I had. It’s kind of hard to find the self park garage when you first check in, but Dylan was very helpful with helping me understand the parking situation and answered all the questions I had. The only reason I’m giving this hotel 4/5 stars is because I noticed that my room was never fully vacuumed and there was food left under the tv stand/dresser in my room from the previous guest.

Service was top notch, exactly what would be expected from a hotel that close to a major convention center. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and really quiet. I never heard anyone in the hallway, even though I know most of the rooms around me were occupied. A large selection of restaurants are within a walkable distance, just be prepared for the hills.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The room was large, bed was comfortable, view was amazing, bathroom was beautiful, and had amazing access to all of the downtown amenities. The parking garage is a little tight but would definitely stay again!

I travel a lot for work. As I came into Kansas City on a rainy windy day, I had a lot in my hands and still had to walk a city block to get to the convention center. A Marriott employee named Roy, saw my distress and how heavy my gear was and helped me. He could’ve easily given me a rolling cart and went about his day. Roy helped me load up all of my gear and roll it to the convention center and unload. I cannot tell you the last time I was treated so nicely and someone went above and beyond for me. I have been in customer service for over 15 years and employees like Roy are invaluable. The hotel has always was beautiful but the customer service… Priceless!

Over the years I have attended many conferences here at the downtown Marriott in Kansas City. I was there this past week. Their detail to excellence is the best! I highly recommend this hotel. Robin Roberts was especially helpful to me on two separate occasions over a few days. Excellent staff and amenities

Very nice, spacious rooms at good prices. Gigantic gym with both machines and free weights. Huge lobby with enormous TV screens, great place to watch football games. Nice pool on 22 floor. Great view of city. Texas likes to brag, "Everything is Big in Texas," but this KC Marriott has similar bragging rights! Buffet is $20, less than at most other comparable Marriott hotels, but quality and service are inferior in the KC restaurant. Otherwise, service is excellent everywhere else, including the Front Desk and housekeeping. One more point worth noting: The Lounge was open to a limited extent on the weekends. Most Marriott hotels close their lounges from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. Overall, Two Thumbs Up for this great Downtown KC Marriott!

Excellent. The heat was originally blowing cold air and the room remained at 68 degrees (the time of year is a couple days before December), but they sent someone up who politely fixed it right away and I had heat in no time. Everything about the hotel was great!

My home away from home. I've spent several weeks here for travel and found the hotel to be a great place to stay. What I value most in a hotel, is the ability to deliver a consistent experience. Every one of my stays has been enjoyable, the room is always clean and the service is good. It is normal for issues to pop up occasionally and when they do, they are addressed promptly and to my satisfaction. I've made regular use of the hotel gym, which has excellent equipment and is always clean. If you're a sports fan, there's always a game on in the lobby on the jumbotron. Overall, a great place to stay and a model of Midwest hospitality.

To anyone who's ever been skeptical about hotel price comparison websites, I can't recommend HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm enough. The savings, like on this stay, are tangible and consistent. I stayed at the KC Marriott Downtown for a work trip and it was a pleasant experience. The meals catered by the hotel during the conference were wonderful; I really enjoyed the Southwestern meal with salad, enchiladas, fajitas, rice, corn salsa and condiments was absolutely delicious. The service was absolutely amazing. I had drinks at the bar in the downstairs West Tower. I was welcomed and serviced by Andrew. He was so polite, so fun and friendly, he was very attentive and so conversational. He was knowledgeable about the drink menu and when I described a drink to him that I previously noticed on the menu, he was able to tell me exactly which drink it was, by me simply listing a few of the ingredients. He was such a great bartender and good listener. He made my experience at the KC Marriott Downtown memorable. Thank you for providing me with such a great time!

Great week in KC. Staff was able to provide amenities I forgot to bring with. Walking distance from downtowns most popular restaurants and bars. Was with a group and they forgot to give me the breakfast passes when I checked in. Would have been 5 stars if that didn't happen.

We stayed here for a Chiefs game. Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the gym two mornings during our stay. The bar and coffee shop were great. Great location and very walkable. Very busy. Our room ran out of shampoo in the big dispenser on the wall and I didn’t realize it until I was in the shower with wet hair. Tried calling front desk but never could get through on my personal phone or the room phone. They never refilled the shampoo during our three night stay. The room was warm even on the coldest setting so it made it difficult to sleep.

Had stayed here years ago. They have updated the rooms for a cLean, modern feel. Bar staff is so friendly. Maria, our server in the restaurant was TOP notch, best service ever. Front desk staff were helpful and courteous! Location was right in the heart of things.

If you are seeking a family celebration or a high-volume corporate event, you cannot go wrong with the current staff and management of the KC Marriott Downtown. I lead a small staff, but with the guidance of the Marriott, I felt my staff had doubled. They advised, supported, encouraged, and enabled my ideas. We had the largest and most successful event- and the KC Marriott Downtown staff and servers were equally responsible for the success. If you are considering Kansas City for you gathering, Convention or event, please start here, and I have a feeling your event will end here. Pure class, attention to detail and compassionate staff.... you cannot go wrong.

I was so disappointed coming back to this hotel after not having stayed here for a long time. The downtown location is convenient. That's the best thing I have to say on this one. Self parking was across the street and there was very little signage to navigate to the underground garage or to get from there back to the hotel. The walk from the lobby registration desk to our room rivaled a Disney resort Trek. Up an elevator through a winding set of narrow hallways with very little signage across a sky bridge to another Bank of elevators where a group of 20 people were waiting to try to go up to their rooms. Terrible terrible terrible customer experience. The hallways are dimly lit and honestly we didn't feel entirely safe at times here. It was late and we wanted to get some sodas so we could make some drinks in our room. Called room service and was told that they don't deliver sodas and we could go to the vending machines. No big deal. Vending machines are located on even number floors. This would have been great if any of the five vending machines on the 10 floors of the building had a single soda. No sodas in any vending machine in the entire building. I only discovered this after doing 10 flights of stairs. Again not a good customer experience. We only stayed at this hotel because I used to stay here all the time on business back in the late '90s. It was a sad experience and unfortunately I'll never go back now. Do yourself a favor and find a newer property that is better maintained and has a more customer friendly environment.

Didn't stay, was only there for a convention. The staff was helpful and the hotel was beautiful! Marriott had their own parking garage, but about half a block away was also a city garage. As a first-timer to the hotel and convention, I wasn't sure how much it was or how exactly it worked (whether I needed to be a guest or not mostly), and they would fill up to only vallet parking occasionally, which of course is extra, so the city garage was a great, close option to have. Overall a great experience!

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Very clean, big cozy rooms, big beds and the shower pressure was fabulous. No touch elevators. Everyone was friendly, valet, front desk and the bartender. Walking distance to alot of shopping and restaurants. Had a great time.

I recently stayed at the Marriott in KC for the auto show at the nearby KC Convention Center. The hotel is newly renovated and very close -- within walking distance to Power and Light District, Memorial Arena and the Convention Center. The parking is underneath the hotel, there was plenty of it and lots of cameras so I felt safe leaving my vehicle. The parking was $24 for self parking. This hotel had the coolest most efficient elevator setup I've ever seen. There are no buttons inside the elevator they are outside where you select your floor and the pad tells you which elevator car to proceed to. It was very busy that weekend and we never waited more than 10 seconds for the elevator. The rooms were remodeled and very modern. The room even allowed for a small window to be opened that allowed fresh air in. The bed and pillows were soft and the air conditioning kept up on a 90 degree day. We stayed in the main tower there is another adjacent tower called the Muehlebach. The breakfast buffet was $20 per person in the AM, it was good it had the basics, sausage bacon, french toast, oatmeal, fruit and cereal. I would definitely recommend staying at this Marriott if you are in the area.

I went to assist at one of my company's biggest annual corporate events in KC. The staff was wonderful! The ballroom looked amazing. All of the participants had a great time. Don't forget to tip your bartenders! Even if there is no tip jar and the bar is paid for... Drop a dollar or 2.

Great hotel with easy accessibility to the city and a great history if you're willing to explore! Solid rooms and a helpful staff, only reccomendation would be for there to be an easier way to get bottles of water or at least more clarity and an easier way to mail stuff out. I would give a 4.5 but that's not an option so I'll round up due to the positives and the nice security guard who gave us a mini tour of the classic portion if the hotel!

Great location. Wonderful midwest hospitality. Nice breakfast. Valet or self parking available. Hallways were a little dark but other than that I didn't have any complaints. It's hard to go wrong with Marriott. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

4 day stay, great accommodations. So great I requested a 1 hr. delayed check out because my flight time changed. I was told NO! Housekeeping came to my room at 10 am for me to leave. So much for being a 9 yr. Gold elite member (it specifically says 2 pm check out for a member perk).

I will update my review when my stay is over but for now all I can think about is how rude the first valet that met us in front of the hotel was. Then I had to listen to how he talked to the rest of the valets. Also rude. I understand that they were busy at the time but when you have someone out there greeting people pulling up to your hotel they shouldn’t come away feeling like this. Hopefully the valet experience improves in the next few days.
