The higher level rooms have nice views of the Plaza and area. Needs are clean and comfy, the hotel has a nice, modern look. I was surprised breakfast is not included but they do have a bar and food on site. The showers have dual heads and nice shampoo and shower gel. King rooms have a large desk and couch.

The hospitality was extremely mediocre. Every time I have stayed at this hotel something is under renovation. The first time was due to a water leak back in January/December time frame. Now this most recent time the bar in the lobby is under renovation due to mold that was found after the first incident. The shuttle is also a joke. I followed their protocol to get picked up from a location only 5-7 minutes away by texting the provided number. After waiting for 20 min I called the hotel to see if the shuttle was being sent. Long story short an hour later I ended up walking back to the hotel in the heat and humidity. What made this such a big deal is this caused me to almost miss my flight and I finished out the rest of my day feeling gross since I sweated my behind off walking back to the hotel. The manager I spoke with wanted to smooth everything over by giving me 20k Marriott points but surprise surprise... no points had made it to me. Thanks for the mediocre service in your mediocre hotel. For my next company training I will be sure to recommend anywhere else but here!

I booked the hotel many days ago with a higher price than the price of check-in day. I told this situation to the front desk, Jason, after checking, he gave me a free one day parking pass. very thoughtful gentleman! Next day, after checked out and left hotel for hours(we still hang out in town), my girl found out she forgot her duck toy in the bed at hotel room, we went back to the hotel, the room was already cleaned, but staff looked every where for the duck, until found it in the laundry room with the bed sheets which was ready to wash. very sweet! And hotel has a great location and nice view, it is near the art museum, UMKC campus, and club plaza, very safe. Highly recommend!!(by the way, you can practice on the hotel piano which is on the second floor, the piano is tuned well and sounds perfect! It is very different from many other hotel has piano only for the decoration!!!!! very convenient for the pianist who has performance or competition and travel to the town. i love this hotel!!! )

TL;DR: The staff is incredibly rude when you contact them with a problem and is not helpful at all. Stay elsewhere to save yourself the headache. I've stayed here before and it was fine. This time I've realized you better pray nothing goes wrong because it takes forever for them to sort out a problem. I was charged twice for parking (one charge associated with my hotel bill and once when I exited the facility upon check-out). I contacted Marriott customer support about this and someone from the hotel emailed me asking me to call them. Great. Problem is: no one is picking up the phone or if they did, they just put the receiver down and wait for you to hang up. I had to call at least 5 times to get through. When I finally got through the person is unable to help me because they are not management? (It was like 4 pm, where is management at 4 pm?) Fine, I will call again. It took another several tries to get through and this time the person in charge is incredibly rude and asked to see my credit card statement which I thought was kind of invasive. Did the hotel not keep records of parking charges? Anyway after providing them with everything I have received nothing in return for several days, so I contacted customer service again. This time a different person from the hotel emailed me and accuse me of not contacting them? It's been two weeks since my stay and my overcharge is still not resolved.

1st, Hotel Maintenance needs to tighten the faucet in room 1120. The Starbucks kiosk is overpriced. The hotel is in a great location, the lobby is fabulous especially the couches and decor. The location is easy walking to many shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, the breakfast buffet is good.

This hotel should not carry the name Marriott. Marriott should be one of the best options for lodging in a city setting. I’m from the suburbs, and did not enjoy the stay. In my book, aside from the housekeeper, everything was done incorrectly. I am not racist. Maybe the black service team are not naturally hospitality people. They need to be let go and replaced with less tired individuals that can run a hotel autonomously. General Manager- At least, hopefully, you can correct what your poor choice of staff has done to my bank account. I checked out, so I should have only been charged for the single, poor-quality stay I endured. Fix it, make it right. I should not be charged at all. I was completely dissatisfied with my stay. Your staff is tired: Replace, and free them.

I checked in via the app and noted my arrival time of 12:30. Upon checking in at the front desk, I was told there would be a $75 charge to check in early or I would need to wait until 3:00. I am a Marriott Titatanium Elite member with over 1000 lifetime nights and have arrived well before 3:00 hundreds of times and have always been able to check in at no charge. I was certain they would waive this charge upon noticing my status, but they would not. Outside of it being ridiculous to charge this to a loyal customer, I can't find this charge listed anywhere in the hotel information. I canceled my reservation and went down the street to the AC Hotel where I was welcomed and in my room at 1:00. This policy not only cost this property my stay tonight and the night I was going to stay next week, but I will be letting my entire organization know to never stay here. The desire to get $75, just cost them thousands.

I want to share a great experience I had with the Country Club on the Plaza Marriott in KC. Wife and I spent Christmas with our daughter and her husband in Kansas City. They have an old house that’s small and not very accessible for someone with my mom‘s physical limitations. So I booked her a room over Christmas at the Marriott because it was only about 10 minutes from my daughter’s house. I helped mom check in after picking her up at the airport and the front desk staff(Jason) was amazing about catering to my mom and her needs. She asked about a complementary breakfast being included with the room, which it was not, but the desk clerk gave her a voucher for every single day she was staying there to have breakfast, which even had an omelette chef! My mother was over the moon happy with how they treated her, giving her breakfast every day, and by providing an accessible room.

Great location, very close to the center with lots of shops and restaurants. Very pretty area,. Roads are under construction for now, but it's still great! Marriott is a good brand, rooms are comfortable, and can always use a little TLC and more maintenance. the seem to have a plumbing issue. I had an issue with hot water, but maintenance personnel came pretty fast and offered me a new room since they couldn't fix the issue right away. This particular location offers a free shuttle down to the center. Is walking distance but is great service. The lunch time was very hectic. They were not ready for all these guys to go to lunch at the same time. They had only 2 guys working, and they were lost. They got some help and after an hour finally got our food. Everything tastes good. But definitely need more personnel. Today on the other hand had a not so pleasant experience with a bar employee, my husband and I came down for a bite to eat, he order his drink and some food to share. I had my left overs from my delicious dinner last night at Cooper's Hawk Winery. So I warm up my food in the microwave in the lobby and went to seat with my husband waiting for our food. The waiter came in and told me we do not allowed outside food here, even so we were waiting for food my husband just ordered. The way he approached me made feel really bad, so I grab my plate went to sit outside area, ask my husband to come join. But this will be the last time we spend money in this place. We are here for a week for a committee meeting that happens every year at a Marriott, we may need to consider changing hotels, since the service her was not as good as it used to.

Wants to be a 4 star, but not there. $28.00 Valet under staffed when we got there and the rest of the weekend. Had 350 guests for a wedding, shouldn't have been a surprise. Check in was okay, but not real welcoming. Slow elevators, seemed like only one of four was working. Ice machine on 15th floor never worked. Room a/c wasn't working until about 10:30 our first night. Toilet ran every 10 minutes. Bridgette was the first friendly employee we ran into. Breakfast hostess was nice and breakfast was good, but overpriced. Wedding reception with 350 guests had two bars with a minimum of 15 minute service wait. All issues can be excused to staffing issues, and I don't like leaving negative reviews, except I expressed concerns on the Marriott Bonvoy site and was ignored. Good service goes a long way...poor service, not much.

Did two seperate rooms on Priceline, they showed reservation dates for next week, Jaden at front desk said switched to correct weekend but have not gotten email or confirmation, but credit card charged second time for whole stay, only did credit card signature pad for incidentals (no screen or printout provided), only 1 of three elevators worked for 3 days, 15 min wait up and down(had to ride up to go back down to make sure had space), plumbing in BR sink gurgles loudly (enough to wake u up), parking garage is disaster, (to narrow and has traffic going up and down same skinny path with oncoming traffic tying to run u over), front desk staff were friendly and bartenders were nice but charged to room with just giving number without verification, check ur bills, location was great, shuttle van driver to Plaza was very nice and prompt. Room was clean, but single queen bed room was super small and had next door room walls jutting in taking half the space, Overall not 3 star worthy and definitely not worth the price or Marriott logo.

Came for a special music performance in one of the ballrooms. Enjoyed great service at the bar- excellent, generous portion of fries and a glass of wine. Bathrooms are hidden far from the entrance. Parking garage is hella expensive. Free, on street parking options are a long walk from entrances/exits. Main door and circle drive is very small and you have to enter from a high traffic, main street.

Before finalizing any trip, I do a quick check on a few sites, including HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm My last trip was surprisingly affordable after that bit of research I loved my stay. Room was nice and with great view, restaurant and bar offers good choice of food. I ordered steak and it was perfect! Guests have a choice between valet and self parking. At checkout I found that I was charged for someone else restaurant order, but this was immediately solved by front desk staff. Overall, it was very refreshing stay

This hotel makes me want to leave the whole Marriott reward program and switch to Hilton. Due to a red eye flight I bought an additional night to check in when we landed between 8 am and 9 am. I booked through the reservation call center. It was noted on my account according to them. I called the hotel at 11:16pm the night before and spoke with a woman who promised to not cancel my reservation and let it go into no show anyway. Additionally when I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by Christine who was condescending and rude. I was told there was no manager and one would not arrive until 2 pm. My reservation was a no show and there were no rooms available. Even though I paid an additional night to have access to the room Do not stay here and furthermore Marriott this is not a property or customer service you want affiliated with your brand

Misleading. The first photo is the Nelson Museum, not the actual hotel. The rooms are clean but the building age is showing. Elevators malfunction consistently. Only 2 working elevators for 19 floors!! It’s a terrible experience when it’s down to 1 elevator and guests have to cram into one. The room you book may not be the one you get. Fire broke out during the stay. People panicked when using the emergency stairway and were pushing and shoving. Hotel staff compensates us with just “we apologize for the convenience..”

Moved from another hotel at last minute to this hotel. Very clean! Friendly staff. The rooms were nice and spacious. Parking was expensive but having valet parking was a nice perk! Only thing missing for our littles was a pool. Would recommend this hotel! Great stay.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel from October 27 to Oct 29. Around 5:30 a.m. on the 29th, the fire alarm went off, and we had to evacuate. During this evacuation, I broke my foot. I had to go to the ER and paid out of pocket. There was an incident report made with the front office director, who also provided the names and number of the GM and HR Director. I have made multiple attempts to make contact with them, as I have since had to have surgery to have a screw put in, and I am still paying out of my own pocket, and I have received not a single call back from them. This is completely unacceptable behavior, and I do NOT recommend staying here.

Average hotel. Freezing inside so I won’t be back! Very uncomfortable cold the whole time throughout hotel. Rooms are basic hotel room. Beds were comfortable. No hot tub or pool. No hot tub was very disappointing. I also accidentally left my car charging in their shuttle and immediately let them know and someone swiped it. My fault left it in the charger but would have been nice if someone didn’t steal it! Also, ordered wings at the bar, they weren’t good. I ate one, and left the rest. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Hilton is better or the Crowne Plaza.

Will stay at this hotel again! Chance at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly the views of the Plaza were amazing and I loved having coffee in my room while looking out at the fountains. The shower door punched our fingers but we had to be mindful of not putting our finger on the handle while getting out of the shower. I loved the detachable shower head, made it easy to wash the kiddos after a humid day!

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in 2023 for business. The rooms are what you would expect for a 3 star hotel , a little run down but good enough. For the price I would expect a little better room quality but maybe you’re paying for location. The room quality wouldn’t be a problem if 2 of the 3 rooms I stayed in didn’t have plumbing problems where the BR sink gurgles loudly on and off keeping you awake at night. During my second stay I discovered someone else’s moldy half eaten leftovers in my room fridge. I asked to have them cleaned 3x at the front desk during the 3 day stay & never got it cleaned out. The food had been there for quite a while judging by what was growing on it. The second stay would have been my last but I had already booked the 3rd stay. The 3rd stay (6th floor) included a room with no hot water. To be fair it was barely tepid. I didn’t ask for another room or for assistance given my past service experiences. I won’t stay at this hotel again.

It was hard to sleep with how loud the elevators are in this place. When booking a room be mindful of this. Toilet barely flushed. The staff coming in and out off the rooms next to lounge on 19th floor made a lot of noise throughout the night as well. And lastly the down blanket was nasty. At first it look ok but hold it up to a light and it was brown in spots even some red. All of the staff I interacted with was extremely friendly including shuttle drivers.

Love the location. Food was good. Housekeeping was not. Had some guy come in without knocking saying I should have checked out at 12 when I just got here at 3:05pm??? Didn't make sense, probably got there too early(?) And thought I was the previous guest. Housekeeping also didn't really clean my room. They didn't vacuum. Didn't take the trash out. My chair was broken....? Parking garage beam to leave was broken several times, garage was hard to park in. All around a strange setup. Not happy about coming back. Marriott needs to figure it out where.

We ended up having a great time here, I will say tho, only a couple of the valet folks were talkative and friendly, Aj was very nice and there was another guy very helpful with directions to a restaurant. The front desk check-in was nice, I just like when they are friendlier, talk and laugh with us. Ours and other rooms a/c did not work properly but they had our rooms fixed by 11:30 pm that night. I know the a/c service folks were tired but they continued working. The hotel hosted a FANTASTIC wedding party, everything was amazing, good food, good service.. Breakfast was delicious. I wanna give a HUMONGOUS shout-out to Bridget. We met her the first night of check in when things weren't great... SHE WAS A BLESSING. She was working on the 2nd floor alone just a humming, happy, thankful and as friendly as she could be. She changed our whole attitude right there.. She remembered us at the party, we talked, laughed, hugged... She is BEAUTIFUL!!! She is AWESOME and I really hope you show her THIS post.. thanks so much!!! 💚♥️💙🖤💜✌️

I travel 75% of the year for work and I cannot express enough gratitude for my latest stay here. I was having issues with my debit card when I chose to extend my reservation just moments before my scheduled checkout time. Jennifer, Christine & Shantez collectively offered me SO much help and reassured me more than a few times that we were going get the glitch resolved. If all hotel organizations trained their employees as well as this incredible team has been, I can guarantee the world would simply be a happier place 👍 Thanks again!

I had a situation with a third party reservation, that was not showing up in the Marriott system, and the manager on duty, Davonte, was so professional and helpful in solving the issue. I greatly appreciate his help. The parking garage is quite tight and compact...a bit difficult to navigate. Otherwise, an excellent stay!

Nice people, clean rooms. Food was good at the restaurant/bar. Bartender was super friendly. Hallways were freezing cold. Had major water leak on bottom two floors, so no breakfast or bar/restaurant for a few days. Beds are pretty uncomfortable.

  • 3/5 David R. 1 year ago on Google
As always a Marriott staff is amazing, normally I say the hotel is nice also. This was not. There had been a plumbing leak and rooms had damage, the hot water was hit or miss and places such as the fitness center were closed. This could have been ok,but no notice was given and we were told to just deal with it.

Expect more from Marriott Brand. I’ve been in nicer Courtyards (and there is one close by - maybe should’ve stayed there). Cramped bathroom with shallow bath with moldy, cracking caulk, and things just worn out in general. Comfortable bed and linens though, and the location is good.

  • 2/5 Rachel E. 8 months ago on Google
The service at this hotel is poor. Little to no interest in helping with anything, and the front desk staff seemed careless or more likely, high - moving in extremely slow motion with no concern of moving things along. First night the AC didn’t work in the room, so had to switch rooms the following day. The next room had barely any water pressure with a shower and bathroom that was extremely outdated. Looked as if nothing had been updated in 30 years. Rooms were fair otherwise from a size standpoint and cleanliness level. No basic amenities though (no hair dryer, water bottles or cups in room, etc.). The only member of the team that seemed to have any interest in their job was the valet gentleman as we were leaving. Valet was prompt, kind, and helped put luggage into vehicle. Will not be staying at this location ever again.

We decided to splurge and stay at here, especially since it appeared to be one of the only hotels in the area without recent bedbug issues reported by guests. And were excited! However, it was not long lasting. We were placed in a room near ongoing construction and had problems with the room itself. We had counted on a mini fridge to store food overnight so we were dismayed when the fridge didn't appear to work. We called maintenance and left after waiting 30 minutes in order to grab a bite to eat before the last restaurants at the plaza were closed. Came back to a "new fridge", this one also did not work. We ended up having to toss $30 worth of food we had been traveling with in order to help with food expenses. Oh, and the sink didn't drain so we had to use the tub facet to wash up and brush our teeth. We brought these complaints up to the front desk in the morning and was told they could not do anything as the district manager was just across the room. The front desk attendant was very apologetic. One would think a manager would like to know and retain customers? They could, however, compensate our overnight parking fee (something we didn't realize when we booked). Told us they would and later found out that we both paid full price for our room and parking. We will not be returning to this or any of the chains hotels. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend. Everything is an upcharge and you don't even get the quality you pay for.

Nice business hotel. Good for our work function. Location seems a bit out of the way, but I don't live in KC 🤷. There are some nice nearby restaurants.

  • 4/5 K E A. 1 year ago on Google
The staff at the front desk, in the coffee shop, and in the house-keeping team were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy. My experience was much better than typical of a 3 star hotel. This is a nice hotel.

We have a frat party across the hall and called downstairs multiple times. The manager was rude and cut me off when I was telling him what was happening. Never introduced himself properly. So unprofessional and no wonder he never solved the problem. He said would give one warning before kicking them out. We complained multiple times and it went on past 2 am. We had to go in the hallway multiple times telling these drunk kids to be quiet. They were drunk and slurring no doubt about it. This is not just the worst Marriott experience but was the worst hotel experience ever to exist. A nightmare! A nice relaxing weekend turned out to be a big joke. To think we ever considered having our wedding in a Marriott hotel is crazy. We dodged a bullet. Rude and ineffective management fosters chaos and substandard hotels.

When asking a simple question about verifying tickets regarding the parking garage, the man at the front desk spoke with both arrogance and an awful attitude. We were very excited for our stay as we were celebrating a friends birthday, but the awful service from the man at the front desk left a bad taste. Will not be returning here in the future. Unprofessional. The room was adequate.

I really enjoyed my stay. What made it more amazing was the shuttle driver, Bryan B, he drove us to and from our classes and dinner at the plaza every night. He was super personable, respectful, and professional. He engaged in conversations and is awesome! Thanks Bryan

I own KC Mobility Scooter Rentals, a business that provides mobility equipment rentals to tourists visiting Kansas City. Tonight I delivered a mobility scooter for a guest that was planning to check in later tonight. My experience: As soon as I exited my vehicle, the valet was there to assist. Due to doing a delivery, I did not need to hand over the vehicle. I removed the scooter from the vehicle and the valet was there to hold the doors. I entered the hotel and the reception desk was super friendly as I checked in. Upon hearing what I was doing, the concierge who was tracking the delivery quickly came over. He asked for a quick class on operating the scooter and then checked it in pending the guest's arrival. This was a smooth experience with great staff and I look forward to future visits.

The rooms are nice, I got a room & stayed for 4 days, first night I could not sleep at all because they did not change the sheets, it looked like they did but I was in a dirty bed itching from someone else's sheets. At first I thought they had bed bugs. I got sheets the next morning & changed everything myself and was fine after that. Breakfast was $12+ for small portion, snack area was more expensive then any corner store. I had to go to the front to activate my Key cards every single day, I got locked out of the building a few times. Shower and sink did not drain great. The heat was great, not very noisy and front desk was helpful. Very Expensive stay, not worth it honestly.
