NICVD is the hospital which provide facilities related to heart issues. Doctors are very high qualified and experienced with nice attitudes towards patients and the person who attends the patient (atrender). This Hospital is undoubtedly excellent step by Sindh government of Pakistan to assist needy person in term of finance and health crisis. They have a contemporary amenities, equipment and techniques to solve difficulties pertaining to heart. As far as staff and security is concerned, they are all good to perform their duties with full motivation. Especially the staff they are so helpful with patient. where as sucrity they are very strick in following proper Standard operating procedures (SOP). With regards to area, The Hospital is situated at centre of city. which can be accessible by different area. The hospital is spreaded on the Large area horizontally and vertically. There is also facilities of cafeteria, mosque, amd parking. The cafeteria is a good place but needs constant cleaning because garbage is randomly spreaded at the parking area. which is seem to be unhygienic. Where as parking is concerned, The place is enormous for parking car. Concerning the Mosque, mosque is absolutely hygienic and furnished with repeatedly cleaning of floor. the prayer offer (azan) is offered at their time. Mosque has also a small area for womens to pray. Overall, This is a nice hospital as compare to other hospitals which is govern by government.

This hospital is providing free of cost treatment for heart related diseases. This place is too much crowded and you have to pay frequent visit to get admitted. Service is top class and staff is cooperative as well. We were there for a whole week in 2018 when my uncle was admitted for bypass operation. They should increase branches and facilities to the other parts of country to facilitate people.

It was my first time here, and I can say that it is one of the best hospital for cardiac treatments, although there is alot of room for improvement, but it goes without saying that they are far better than all the private hospitals out there who have no concern for the patient's well being and only care about money.

I had an heart attack on 12th December'17 and was rushed to the emergency of NICVD. Was given immediate attention and was quickly shifted to their Cath Lab where urgent Angiography/Angioplasty was done. One Stent was fixed and I was really rescued by them. May Allah S.W.T. bless them all. It was all free of charge. I have intentionally given 4 stars because they still need more facilities/improvements, as they are catering to a very very large number of heart patients from all over Pakistan.

Since its inception in 1963, the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) has played a pivotal role in caring for patients with heart disease in Pakistan. NICVD is the first tertiary cardiac care institute in South Asia as well as the flagship facility for cardiology in Pakistan with a focus on superior care for patients, education and training for medical professionals, and research and development in cardiology. NICVD caters to the cardiovascular needs of a vast majority of patients from all provinces of Pakistan as well as Afghan refugees and patients from other neighboring countries. It is responsible for training the bulk of local cardiac physicians, nurses and paramedics throughout the country.

National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Karachi The state of the art hospital in Karachi Sindh. It benefits the rich and poor people of Pakistan. Newly introduced hospital for heart diseases. The good step taken by the Government of Sindh for the people of Pakistan. It has highly qualified doctors and staff. It is free of cost. A better step taken by Govt of Sindh. The Government should also construct hospital like NICVD Karachi in other cities of Sindh too. So that people of Sindh can be able to get health facilities on their door steps. They should always maintain there quality care facilities for people. Allah will give you reward for this. INSHA ALLAH

The best institution for the treatment of heart diseases which is run by the government of Sindh and the treatment of patients here is free. We can say without a doubt that this is an excellent hospital and a large number of cures are provided from Karachi and Sindh. Angiography, angioplasty and bypass are also provided free of cost. This company is doing a good job.

Extra ordinary medical care place for heart diseases in government sector. No comparison of NICVD with private heart diseases hospitals in Karachi. NICVD is equipped with state of the art medical equipments. There are five other branches of NICVD in Sindh including Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Mirpur khas, Sehwan, Sukkur, where treatment is free of cost. Not this but there are also NICVD mobile care center at Karachi.

I had a terrible experience at this hospital. They intentionally delayed my father's operation, putting his life at risk. The lack of urgency and communication nearly cost his life, and I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone seeking timely and competent medical care. Always kept him on waiting and said "his tests were not completed". Even the doctors there said to them the patient is ready for operation anytime. Yet, they delayed it to the max for 1 full month. We lived far from there and its just as big of a pain. I do NOT recommend this hospital to anyone at all. The staff and the workers are great, but the surgeons and the administrative staff was a total failure and good for nothing people and were only greedy for the money. The lift staff was one of the worst ones and even after in private they still said "the doctors will give the date of operation" and they still were not sure when they will get his operation done like what?!. This is the worst hospital in my opinion and will never ever recommend this to anyone.

"My husband visited Dr. M. Zia Yaqoob at NICVD for treatment of his heart condition and he left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Despite having a serious health issue, Dr. Yaqoob showed no empathy towards him whatsoever. He spent only a few minutes examining him before giving a cursory diagnosis without proper explanation nor taking into consideration my husband's concerns and questions regarding his health. Overall, his bedside manner lacked professionalism and empathy. We felt that his priorities lay elsewhere rather than focusing solely on providing quality care to his patients. As such, we urge caution when considering treatment by Dr. M. Zia Yaqoob and suggest exploring alternative options within the same field of medicine for a more satisfactory outcome." It should also mention that patient's privacy rights were violated during the encounter, as Dr. Yaqoob shared details of the case with unauthorized individuals.

Worst experience! No care for patients at all. Doctors here don't communicate at all. My GrandFather needed urgent PPM but they delayed it for 5 days. No seating arrangements for attendants, no parking and you can't even use their lifts. This place is so tiring. If you can afford then please don't come here!

Its one of the elite institution of cardiology in Pakistan. The doctors here are the most qualified and experienced in cardiology with state of the art equipment. However, during two days of my visit no social distancing measures was in place and neither the staff had any awareness of the importance of it. It could possibly be because this institution is over crowded, hence keeping all measures intact is very challenging. The waiting area near ETT room was infested with flies. Its not acceptable for an elite institution like this.

Patient management is pathetic and on top of that doctor's have a serious attitude problem. Most of them are suffering from god complex. Being a doctor myself, and once being a student in the same institute, it's really saddening to see this place going to hell. The doctor in the ER was decades junior to me, I tried introducing myself as doctor but it made no difference to her behavior; really shameful. Can't imagine what they do to lay persons.

Shame on the pathetic staff of this hospital. For OPD people come here for appointments 5 - 6 hours prior to the tokens giving time but when the person comes who gives tokens, rather then giving the tokens by their numbers respectively, he only gives token to the people he wants to.. When people ask him why he does so he simply replies, "Meri Marzi me jis ko bhi doon tujhe kia!!" It's matter of utter shame and sheer disappointment to see the pathetic service and highly disappointing behavior of your staff. You can certainly give thousands of reasons of lack of budget (though it's not even true as you have ample resources) but there can be no reason of rude and god like behavior of your staff towards already stressed patients and their attendants. Even in emergency ward some doctors talk to as if they are god!! They not only talk rudely but literally misbehave with you.!!

My father died in this hospital on 23rd March 2022, and this is what had happened: My father arrived all the way from UK, due to a leakage on one of his valve, and a blocked artery. The doctor's there informed that an angiography will be the solution for the blocked artery, but for the tear in the valve the solution would be either to repair or replace the valve, this is something they didn't want to do, more tests needed to be done to find out if there is a better solution. Unfortunately, it was then my father came to Karachi, because he wanted to be around his family. We were suggested this hospital, this hospital convinced us that an open heart surgery will be suited, and took 6 lac 30 thousand rupees for private treatment. However, they operated on him without taking sufficient tests. My father as a result underwent 3 surgeries one after the other. In the UK x-rays and other tests are done to see if the patients has other health conditions that could cause a negative impact on the patient. My father had pulmonary edema , ( water in lungs) and other health conditions that could be detected from tests. They didn't even do a vein test to see if he was fit for the operation, my father was in his eighties , an open heart surgery was not suitable for him. After three surgeries they gave him a discharge, and prescribed strong medicine, (antibiotics) and other medicine to heal his wounds, and thin his blood. My fathers blood became too thin and the perscribed medicine became too strong, that his heart beat became abnormal and was rushed to hospital and later went on CPR, There the doctor said medicine was too strong and blood became too thin. This was all due to their negligence, irresponsibility in operating an elderly man in his eighties. On top of that the staff that sit outside the ICU are extremely rude. They have no waiting area. . Relatives of the patient are treated like trash. Absolutely apalled.
