If I could give 6 stars I would give 7 for food and service. Fantastic service and food quality. What better place to savour and enjoy one of the most expensive pieces of beef in the world, the Kobe beef but in Kobe itself and to have a halal Kobe beef is even more rare. The dishes cooked and presented were just amazing. It was truly an amazing experience from starter salad right up to dessert. Every course served was outstanding. Even though it was the most expensive meal I have ever had in my life, it was worth every Yen. I will come again insyaAllah.

Our best dining experience Japan! We spent a couple of hours in Kobe and were looking for a Japanese restaurant. By coincidence chose this restaurant and were absolutely not disappointed. Don't be afraid about not speaking the language or being able to read the menu or anything. The staff is super friendly and helpful and in our case was able to speak perfectly English. Not being able to read the menu we were first a bit afraid to pay more then we should, but if you ask they will tell you all the prices. The chef has a lot of charisma and is a master of what he does. We ordered a sashimi plate and a steak which was full of highlights. The sashimi was amazing and delivered with a Wasabi, which you can grind by yourself. Never did that before.. so it was an amazing experience. The steak was perfectly made as well together with vegtables and delivered on a plate where it can be cooked further. We got starters (the japanese tip - which you need to pay) and a little dessert and tea at the end. Great experience!

Reserved the restaurant in advance as it’s a small establishment that caters less than 20pax at time. This restaurant surpasses expectations with their dedication to provide Halal-certified Kobe beef with proof from governing body. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality by the friendly staff. We were served diligently by Takumi and cozy atmosphere invites you to settle in for a memorable dining experience. The course meal offered here is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is a celebration of flavor. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients elevate the dining experience to new heights. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the impeccable service and attention to customer satisfaction. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of. Humble chef too. Overall, dining here in Kobe is more than just a meal – it's an unforgettable experience. From the fantastic course meal to the cozy environment and friendly staff, every aspect of the dining experience is carefully curated to leave a lasting impression. If you're looking for great food and great experiences, look no further than this hidden gem in Kobe.

Wonderful place for experiencing Kobe Beef!!! I ordered the set menu, start with corn, chicken and salmon continue with three types of fish, salmon, yellow tail and tuna. After that they give me a bowl of soup with tofu skin or yuba, onion (the taste is sweeet totally different with the onion that I ate at Tokyo!), and fish with fish sauce. Next I eat a plate of tempura. Then the main dish, kobe beef!!! I order the well done beef. It's superb delicious, even it is well done, I still taste the juicy from the beef. Besides the beef, they serve onion rice and miso soup. In this main dish, I experienced two ways of eating kobe beef, with western style and eastern style. Finally it ended with dessert and ocha. The dessert wasn't so sweet, it consists of melon, cherry, kinda mochi and grapes with mango sauce. It was another great dinner at Kobe. And the best thing is, the dish is totally halal!! So don't be afraid to have an experienced of kobe beef in here.

A-B4 / 7 grade 5 stars HALAL Wagyu beef, with certification & separate cooking utensils used to cook HALAL beef, expertly prepared by Konishi Yousuke-san. Reservations needed 1 day in advance for HALAL Wagyu beef. Highly recommended Sukiyaki, Hobanyaki & Steak too

Tsuki Usagi is a hidden gem among the numerous restaurants in Kobe. The chef takes the greatest care in using halal ingredients and showing them before preparing the Kobe beef, which is served rare on a hot plate so you can eat the steak as you like. The flame only lasts as long as necessary so there’s no risk of accidentally overcooking it. Each dish is delicious, and there is a great variety including a salad, tempura vegetables and a perfect dessert plate with coffee banana ice cream and fresh fruit to top it all off. The atmosphere is also amazing; on the 8th floor of a building conveniently located near Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya Station, it’s a cozy and homely restaurant a world away from the hustle and bustle below. The chef and his assistant are both extremely friendly and happy to chat and even gave personal recommendations for places to visit while in Japan. I left Tsuki Usagi feeling full after a delicious, high quality kaiseki meal and absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Halal Kobe beef and anyone else who wants to enjoy a truly special meal. An English menu is available and the chef’s assistant can explain in English everything that is in the various dishes when serving them. ぜひお楽しみください!この懐石料理はとても美味しいです!

Booked 2 weeks earlier for our Friday lunch before Christmas 2023, as we're afraid that the place would not accept walk-in customers. Turned out, we are the only couple that booked for lunch and God, it was amazing as if the whole place is privately opened for just the two of us. The chef welcomed us with warmth and friendliness, as if we have been there so many times. Mind you, it's the first ever Kobe beef experience for us and we enjoyed every second of it. The chef explained to us on Kobe breed, the halal supplier and which cuts of meat of Kobe beef he would prepare for us. All the condiments and sauces are halal too. The course started with cold appetisers, hot tofu soup which was freshly made by the chef, fresh sashimi, then continued with assorted tempura and the main highlight was the Kobe beef ribeye steak and yakiniku serve with grilled veggies, rice and soup. No other Wagyu could really match the flavour and texture of Kobe beef. We are so lucky to experience the real taste of Kobe beef! The lunch ended with assorted fruits of mikan and muscat grapes and finally, a scoop of matcha ice cream to clean our palate. We paid ¥34,000++ for 2 persons, expensive but definitely worth every yen. P/s : I heard the price has been revised in early January 2024.

Wow! Wow! Wow! We really enjoyed our rooftop dinner at this quaint restaurant. Highly recommended!!! We are warmly treated by our very friendly waitress Miss Karin who went over and beyond to make sure we are comfortable with blankets and a heater! (it was a cold night!) The chef's preparation of food is very authentic to Japanese cuisine. We had real wasabi! The Halal kobe beef is superb! We are impressed by Mr Lee who came all the way to deliver our steaks that night fresh! Everyone made effort to show us Halal labels and that all ingredients used are also Halal. Very impressed with the quality and hospitality. Will definitely visit when we're back in Kobe!

Amazing! Travelled from Kyoto to Kobe just to try this out this Halal establishment and it did not disappoint. All meats & ingredients used and simply Halal, the owner makes it a great point to show you what he’s using as ingredients. I especially loved the tempura, miso soup & the succulent beef within the set meal option! No reservations were made. Everything was prepared with perfection and I’d head back should I be around again. Well done and this is highly recommended!

Tried the halal wagyu beef ribeye steak course. Wasn’t expecting much from the other dishes as we went there mainly for the halal beef (which was amazing - you get to cook it yourself!) but was pleasantly surprised - the appetiser, soup, tempura, sashimi (you can request for cooked fish if you don’t eat raw) and dessert were superb! Thank you to the chef for the wonderful experience! Highly recommend :)

Advance reservations are highly recommended! I went to the restaurant with a Muslim friend who wanted to try the Halal Kobe beef, but we were told that reservations were required, so we could not eat there that day... We went back the next day and the Kobe beef course meal was fantastic! The meat and other Japanese dishes tasted perfect as well.

We had an amazing halal Japanese dining experience. There're not enough stars to fully describe the standards of service here. 10 stars for such impeccable service. The staff were professional and even showed us their halal certification and explained to us in detail about each course that they serve. We brought our baby along and they even provided her with complimentary food and a refreshing dessert. Would recommend it to any Muslim who would like to try Kobe beef right from its birthplace.

The owner & staff are very very friendly.. They explain well & guarantee your food quality, especially Halal needs quality. Their beef tastes very good, I recommend taking the course menu, you will serve it from appetizer until dessert, They offer you cooked food if you can't eat raw fish... it's a very satisfying experience to eat here. Their staff speaks English fluently, so it is very helpful for foreign people to eat here..... I will visit this restaurant again if I visit Kobe again 😆

If you're looking for a delicious meal and a cozy atmosphere in Kobe city, Tsuki Usagi is the perfect place to visit! The food is top-notch and the atmosphere is unbeatable. The warm and friendly staff make you feel right at home as soon as you step through the door. One of the standout dishes is the Kobe beef - it's truly a taste sensation. Not only is the meat cooked to perfection, but it's served on halal-exclusive tableware that showcases traditional Japanese design. They do take great care in using halal-exclusive kitchenwares, seasonings, and ingredients to make sure everyone can enjoy their meal to the fullest. Be sure to stop in and try their Kobe beef - you won't be disappointed!

We were staying in Osaka, but made a short jaunt to Kobe just for dinner at Tsuki Usagi for their halal kobe beef. We went with Hoba Yaki course, and definitely did not regret as its a method of serving steak we never had before, nor something we could find in Malaysia. Takumi-san was a great server/host and chef/owner Yosuke-san's dishes were really amazing. They went out of their way to show their respect for halal requirements, which was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend for a great experience, and not just to halal-only eaters.

decided to try this muslim friendly restaurant selling halal kobe beef since im a muslim and also wanted to try some authentic beef. service was really superb, staff sat us down and told us to hand over our thick coats to him so that he can place it somewhere for us. he was super patient and friendly to us, since we understood close to no japanese and he didnt speak english, he tried his best to explain and communicate with us with the help of google translate. he showed us the halal logo of the beef and the ingredients used such as the soy sauce etc & also explained all the foods served in detail. while waiting, he served us warm towel and ice water. price wise: ~$250sgd/course meal which was really pricey but considering we got authentic halal kobe beef and an amazing service, we may come back if im feeling richer…place was not crowded since we need to make reservations and place was small.

We had a fantastic experience! The chef is extremely friendly and the food is great. We were so glad in the end that the more mainstream kobe beef places were fully booked, so we could find this jewel! Highly recommended!

My colleague and I had a pleasant time dining-in at the restaurant. We stayed in Kobe for a short business trip and wouldn’t want to miss out our first experience having Halal Wagyu/ Kobe beef in Japan. The chef is very welcoming and nice to us. Halal menu is available. He even shared the ‘proof of halal’ certification for the beef steak and all halal logo stamps on the sauce/ingredients before he started cooking. Cooking utensils were very clean and the environment was relaxing. We both ordered a course meals and we enjoyed watching our beef steaks prepared by the chef in front of us. The course meals/ steaks were very delicious and perfectly cooked to our requests. Overall, we were 100% satisfied. Tsuki Usagi Kobe restaurant is indeed a top notch quality restaurant, professional service, the chef is very remarkable explaining each course meal and shown really good hospitality towards his customers. Moreover, the beef taste really amazing! I definitely recommend anyone to drop by this restaurant when in Kobe and consider it as a must visit especially to those seeking for halal Kobe/Wagyu beef. We were glad to dropped by this restaurant after our long walk. Thanks to the chef we really had a great dining experience. Im sharing this restaurant in my instagram story, and to my close family and friends. We will visit this restaurant again one day and bring along some new friends :)
