Amazing place for an evening for sea food lovers but be prepared for the Kochi humidity. It is a beautiful open air restaurant facing the waterways. You can see the ferries and boats plying while you enjoy the beer and fish. The service is descent and they have really taken care for amenities, providing even a feeding space for mothers. The street leading to hotel is narrow but they have parking space and play area for kids

I liked the place so much. Especially during the evening, with the lights and the breeze, it is just awesome. Their French Fries are too good. They serve beer and wine at the place. We have the option to reserve a table in advance mentioning the time slots. The food is commentable. Family crowds are also attracted to this place. One can enjoy their good time with no inhibitions here. Google maps could not help me with the exact location. However, it will help you reach nearby and people there could help you with the rest of the location. Almost everyone knows the place.

It's a good place to be in evenings or for chilling in night. The rush in the hotel tells about the place. Food is also tasty. Recommendable. Highly recommended if u like to zip Beer along with food sitting on a pier watching the port.

Loved the food! High quality, tasty, prepared from scratch so it takes time (30-40 minutes for some dishes) but worth it, in my opinion. Ambience is great. However, I really wish they could clean up some of the rubbish on the water around their area. Would make the ambience much better.

Great restaurant with amazing views. What I like: 1. Water side seating 2. They have small kids area 3. Washrooms are clean 4. Soft spoken staff What can be improved: 1. Time to prepare meal (40 mins is bit too much) 2. Few more options for vegetarians

Had a gorgeous experience here at Seagull! Such a beautiful view of the waters along with the boats and ships passing. To add to these views is the friendly and sweet service offered by the team. Our waiter, Sam was a friendly and helpful Face who helped us order really good food such as the garlic chicken dry and the chili paneer. Make sure to have the lime soda! Definitely worth a visit! Thanks Sam for the lovely service!

This place has a vibe of its own. You can right at the deck with a view of the backwater. It's really crowded all the time so expect to be waiting. Also parking can be an issue at times. Food is amazing though. But we had to wait more than an hour for it arrive. Overall experience was great. Would really recommend it.

The view was amazing. We had outdoor seating on the deck, overlooking the waters. The drinks weren’t badly priced and the foods were good. We waited a long while for the food though. Other than that, the ambience, decor, garden swing and kiddies play area, food, drinks, vibe - totally worth it and this place just made our evening. We ate, watched the sunset, took some pics, chatted and had a great time. I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend time with friends and catch up over drinks and food. Location is also ideal, in the fort, and transport is easy to flag down.

Had our dinner here during our visit to fort kochi. Love the seaside location. We had grilled fish, prawn roast and squid rings all suggested by waited Vishnu. Very good suggestion on the size of fish as well by him as we were not too sure. Very fresh seafood with chilled ambiance.

Most disastrous dining experience ever. Even in my darkest fantasies, I wouldn't dare return there ever. The management and staff were absolutely horrible when I visited them the previous time. Excellent ambience and a long history alone are insufficient to satisfy clients; even the smallest of manners count when dining.

The three Stars are Mainly for the food, if you’re expecting good service this is the last place they will even respect their customers, just because they have tons of people coming it doesn’t matter for them that there are people leaving the table. The Manager had the Audacity to even deny my order and comment in Malayalam just because I asked for an other table! Horrible staff experience!! The food was awesome and the beer was good a must visit place if you want good authentic Kerala style cuisine!

Fantastic place to have some good food! The view of the port is amazing, lots of boats and large ships docking etc., The food was great, slightly expensive, but worth it, Our waiter Farooq was courteous and very friendly too! The service was prompt as well. Overall a great place! Would recommend to anyone who is in Kochi!

Map location not accurate. Car park is available. Probably few places in Kochi fort to enjoy drinks sitting next to the water front pier. Evenings are busy. Check for reservation or visit early to grab a table by the pier. Pier tables are charged 15% extra on menu prices. Food options were very limited and beer/wine options also limited as most of the beers were out of stock. Mosquitoes are there so preferably wear full clothes & apply some repellent lotion.

Fabulous lunch of prawns and rice seated outside on the "pier " which is slightly more expensive but well worth it. Views of the passing ships and small boats, herons catching their own dinner made this place special along with a refreshing cold beer ! Food was fantastic , great staff ( including Farook one of the waiters ) Clean and hygienic bathroom and wash basins. Highly recommend.

A great spot for dinner with high quality fish and veggie options for a good price. They serve beer and wine and the whole place has a fun and busy vibe to it. Service was attentive and kind thanks to Sethu who made sure everything was perfect for us. The garlic tiger prawns were a highlight but everything was great.

Full points for the location, ambience, vibes and service. The food couldnt have been better that is all. I have had better fish dishes in Bangalore and that is the only reason i gave a 4. It is located on the jetty, just beside the water. The view is great. The interior area is very family friendly and the capacity is also huge. They have parking space too.

Amazing experience - sitting right at the water's edge on a moonlight night watching ships sail past and sipping on a bottle of cold beer. Masala prawns and grilled fish were superb, and in keeping with reputation of the place.

Been here before and thr ambience is still good. The food can't be praised a lot though. However it's location add to the charm of the place. Veg: Porotta and dal were good. However the chilly Gobi was not very good. It was mostly gravy and manchurian preparation. Non veg: Prawns and rice tried by friends were good according to them Drinks: The drinks are moderately prices and good

Great views, good service and exceptional food. We ordered the beef ularthiyathu and seagull special prawn roast. Both were downright delicious. Our waiter Sam was very helpful and even provided a highchair for my two year old daughter without us requesting for one, a sweet gesture if you ask us:) love the kiddie play area and overall ambience. Highly recommend!

This is a nice place to hangout for both lunch and dinner. The highlight of the place is it’s beautiful seating right on the sea. One can sit there for hours just looking at the passing shops. The location is the best thing about the place. There isn’t anything like this in this area. The food is local cuisine and serves sea food and meat dishes and also vegetarian options. The Kerala cuisine is really good here. We tried the squids and prawns in Kerala style and they were really tasty. The food is spicy but not hot and therefore a favourite. It’s also fresh and delicious The staff is polite and the service is decent. There is nothing fancy about the place but the view is just too gorgeous!!! It’s a must visit if you are in Fort Kochi!

It was a Sunday afternoon. After lazying around at home we decided to go to Fort Kochi, Seagull Hotel for lunch. Reached there after long wait got a good table and after even longer wait got food. It took a long time for the food to come. It is agreeable that the place was crowded but the wait would be good if you are sitting at the water side tables. The whole ambience is great. A beach feeling to it. Good selection of fishes was there on display from which we can choose whichever fish we want. They have butter garlic preparation which is less spicy and Kerala style preparation which is spicy. Even simple fried rice and Porotta took forever to come. Both were decent. Butter chicken was weird it was more cream than butter. Beef roast also did not have the taste we expected. We have had better beef roast at weddings! The place is vast. There is kids play area with slides, merry-go-rounds, Ball Pit etc which the kids will like. Bathroom was kinda dirty

Service has to definitely improve. The staff was bullying and very cold in their response. On another note, The place is undergoing renovation. You might want to postpone your seagull visit to a later date. I'm sure that will give time for the management to teach the staff some good manners and send them on training classes on 'how to speak to customers'

Sat at the restaurant There are some issues about allocation of tables and the floor manager. However, the location is unparalleled. The vibe was great. Only thing I didnt like was that the people at the table behind me , decided to play their own music on their phone, which was annoying. The manager should have stopped it. Advise: avoid corner tables in rainy seasons.

Food: Good food to chill with beer. Chicken dishes are better. Beef deep fry was literally deep fried to a point of charring, so obviously a no-no. There were only two beer options when i visited the place. Ambience: The first set of tables are not as interesting as the last few sets. The management also knows this and hence the last sets of tables, that are on top of the deck on the sea, cost 15% extra on the food. The ambience is good for people looking for a dark setting to enjoy the sea, wind and friends. Cost: Food is a bit on the costly side with each main course ranging around the 300s. Beers are also a bit costly compared to the BevCo rates. Overall: A good place to chill with friends or family. Not a place for serious dining experience.

Excellent service provided by Rajesh and his team. They were extremely welcoming and ensured we got the best table on the pier. They made sure to constantly check up on us. The food was excellent and fresh. The team helped us choose the best items on the menu and always inquired if we wanted anything to improve the experience. The serving staff were also forthcoming and helped us with the smallest of things. Overall extremely beautiful view, friendly staff, fresh and tasty food and relatively cheap pricing!

Providing a good good ambience with view of the water area and also and outdoor and indoor seating facility. In the menu there are so many number of varieties beverages but when the ask to the staff only three type of beer are available. The services are good but this is disappointing situation when we order a Beef Pepper fry it was very execrable and that was the bad impression they made. Also the preparation time for this is minimum 35 minutes to 1 hour so so very disappointing and wasting of time. Every kind of people can enjoy the view and the Ambience family couples because the waterside view was superb but the price of the averages and the food is little 🤏 high when compared to other hotels but they providing a standard quality of services and ambiance .yes it's a enjoyable place for every kind of people.

The ambience is what people go there for, Pier side view is mesmerizing. They are not updating the place, the table cloths have started to tear, chairs getting broken, salt-less French fries. The food is average, nothing special to make the place stands out in terms of snacks. Still recommended for a great evening with friends or family.

Too crowded. Had to leave the restaurant when the waiter said that any food ordered will take minimum 1 hour to be served. But the ambience is awesome. It's the best place to relax having a beer and have a lot of time to spare .

It was a memorable experience dining at this restaurant for lunch with my family. The food is delicious, especially the lemon butter 'live' fish grill and hot, flaky porotta. It's family-friendly with attentive staff. Ample parking is available. Beef coconut fry was not good. Ambience was truly remarkable, especially by the pier. The serene and picturesque setting added an extra layer of charm to the dining experience. Highly recommended!

This is a great place for a leisurely meal with a fantastic view of the waterfront. Though we were not lucky enough to get tables on the pier side (there is a long wait involved), we still had a table that gave us a good view of the water. Service by Alvin was excellent. Everything we tried was of good quality, well spiced and adequate portions.

A must-try when in Kochi. Came here for the restaurant at lunch time. We got a great table with a view. Ordered the beef roast with parottas, boiled rice, and prawn curry. Everything was excellent - the food was very tasty, the service was good. And the ambience was amazing. I'm only taking a point off because the gravy was a bit too rich for my palate and not very subtle. But others may like it.

This one offers an amazing view with your meal. This restaurant is built on a pier with crows taking food from your plates if you are not attentive. Alligator fish swims through the waters besides your table. Food is fresh, although you'll have to wait your wait as the food is prepared after you've ordered it. Seafood is very fresh as its caught locally and daily! Good experience.

One of the oldest restaurant of Fort Kochi. Really prompt services curated for the varied clientele. They also have a sitting on the deck size which comes with a nominal fees. However note if it rains then you run with your fnb inside. Their calamari ring pairs perfectly with the beer!

One of the oldest and best places in Fort Kochi where you get amazing and fresh seafood dishes and relax. You even get a table with an amazing view of the sea and boats passing by while enjoying your food and drink. They also have a small play area for the kids to enjoy. The washrooms are also clean. The staff is helpful and service is good and quick.

If you visit Fort Kochi.... Seagull shouldn't be missed. It has the best natural ambience a Hotel can have .... The frequent sighting of Cargo shops, Passenger boats , Fishing Boats and mainly the natural salty wind from the River and Sea makes it the best place to have vibe . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🔥🥃

Staying at Hotel Seagull was an absolute delight. The sea view from our room was breathtaking, and the sound of the waves was soothing. The staff were attentive, and the beach access was a bonus. A perfect choice for a relaxing coastal getaway.

Average food. Seafood are not really fresh. Location is good. Sense of hygiene is very poor. Washroom having dim light looks ugly & unclean, as if wants to hide dirtyness. No plan to visit second time.

  • 3/5 Chithra Maria A. 10 months ago on Google
The food here is really good and worth the experience. The Ambience is also good . The Only problem is the waiting and service. There was huge wait and many tables had the reserved board kept on it. We waited for 20 mins and tables were still empty, after a long conversation we finally managed to get a table. The food also took a lot of time to come to the table. So if you are looking for a quick lunch or dinner spot, this isn't the place. But if you really have time, then definitely come here for the experience.

The perfect place to have lunch and dinner by the sea at Fort Kochi. The food was surprisingly very good and the service was impeccable. There were slight delays in serving food, and there aren't too many choices in beverages served. The place is family friendly and also a perfect place to have a date!

I was looking for a place in Fort Kochi to sit by the water and enjoy a cold beer and some decent food. The restaurant at Hotel Seagull fit the bill! I arrived around 6 and, although all of the outdoor tables were reserved, Vishnu offered me a lovely table by the water - with the proviso that I finish by 7:30 so that the party that had reserved the table would have it. No problem! The setting is lovely - even without a great sunset. Beer selection was good as were the prices. I’ve been living in India for a year now so I should know better that “grilled” doesn’t mean the same here as in the US. Nonetheless, I ordered the grilled tiger prawns and grilled squid. As usual, there was no sign that they had ever seen an open flame. I ordered the lemon garlic butter versions vs. the masala option. They came with some kind of sauce that didn’t taste particularly like lemon. I wish they had just buttered them and squeezed lemon on them. It would have made the seafood taste much better. Vishnu’s service was great and I never felt rushed.

A slice of Kochi and its vintage soul. The place to be in if you're in the mood for some good beer and a decent collection of wine when you're around Fort Kochi. The sea food variety is worth mentioning and the prawns fry has always been my personal favourite. Prices are not too high when you factor in the location and the ambience.

Found Hotel Seagull through a Fort Kochi 'best of' video and decided to try it for lunch. Food, service, ambiance were exactly what we were looking for. We scored a lovely table on the waterfront patio and enjoyed a cold beer with our lunch. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day and tried more seafood. Place gets busy but it is worth the hype. A must try!

Seagull used to be good. Now it's just a place to go if you only like the ambience. You can't order food past 10. And the food you do order comes after a good 40 minutes. So if you plan to order as beer, starter, MC, then maybe order all at once. Risking the food to go cold is better than being told that the orders stopped. It tends to get overcrowded (most places do, so no issue). The food used to be amazing, now it's just average. If you go just for the ambience of the ships, be prepared to pay a small amount (less than 15% I think) extra to get a table at the pier. The place has lost its charm. There are better places in Kochi.

I recently dined at Restaurant Seagull in Cochin and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The restaurant has a great ambiance with a lovely view of the backwater dock, and the staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. The menu offered a variety of dishes to choose from, and the food was absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the seafood dishes which were fresh and cooked to perfection. The biryani was also a standout dish, with a perfect blend of spices and flavors. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous, making it a great value for money. Overall, I highly recommend Restaurant Seagull for its great food, drinks, excellent service, and stunning views. If you're in Cochin and looking for a great dining experience, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Ambience is good. But food takes long long time to get served. They said one hour . It took almost one and half. Saw some people complaining and fighting about the delay. It was Sunday. So maybe that was reason for delay. All fish dishes were great. Was worth the wait. But all other dishes were average to bad. So better to order only seafood here . Atleast that was my experience.

This hotel is located in the beautiful landmark of Cochin and showcases the colonial past and the contemporary Indian influence of the country. There are many types of live grilled fish you should try. It's a bit expensive, but you can sit at your table with a beer for dinner or lunch while enjoying the beauty of the lake.

Seagull is most famous for it's ambience and it doesn't disappoint. A great place for family or friends to hang out, have a few drinks and eat. The ony problem is getting a seat. Earlier food used to take a lot of time. But now it has been significantly reduced. Overall it will give you a pleasant experience.

Never come here unless you have a lifetime to wait for the food. Even a basic veg item takes minimum 1 hour to be served cause they call themselves a live kitchen. Heard so much but completely let down. The staff is too rigid & stereo type keep singing the same song but no trying to take care of the customer or no solution to anything. If you want a quick starter with your beer they give you packet of pepper peanut which is some unbranded local pre made packet. Will never come back here.

Loved the food! High quality, tasty, prepared from scratch so it takes time (30-40 minutes for some dishes) but worth it, in my opinion. Ambience is great. Very good hospitality and the staff (Farouk) was very nice behaving

Lovely hangout spot for you and peers to have a refreshing meal and sit back and watch the view as the waves move side to side. The Ambience of the restaurant/hotel was incredible. One small but big add on was our Waiters, Albin and Sam. They made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a good corner to unravel in Cochin.

Had an amazing dinner at Hotel Seagull. We had the best experience, thanks to Vishnu, who provided great service throughout the evening. Great ambience, even better food. The Fish Chatty Curry stood above everything else. Beef, squid, tiger prawns and porotta were all amazing. Absolutely no complaints. when you go there do ask for Vishnu.

Good place to chill out with a very good view. Food quantity is increased and quality is good. The price is reasonable and good service by attender Mr. Arun. Somehow Google map is showing another Seagull Restaurant nearby with more ratings. But this is the hotel in exact location. Management has to look into this.

Amazing view of the backwaters. The food is delicious. You have the option of selecting your fish and having it grilled to taste. It is reasonably priced considering its vantage location . Ample parking space. No desserts available. Liquor is served for adults aged 23 and above.

🫤 Food: I had this biriyani multiple times, but it has lost all its flavour. I tasted only the rice(eggtarian), it was nothing but a normal biriyani with a little bit different flavour. Even the salad also lost its flavour. Very disappointing. How can they ruin such a good restaurant like this? The us...
