On
arrival
we
were
treated
like
we
were
a
problem,
people
were
rushing
around
trying
to
figure
out
who
we
were
and
what
room
we
were
supposed
to
be
in
as
if
they
didn't
realise
we
were
even
coming
-
not
a
great
start.
The
room
we'd
booked
was
listed
as
a
"Garden
Floor"
room,
which
to
anyone
with
common
sense
would
translate
to
"Ground
Floor",
right?
Wrong.
For
Furkan
Homes,
"Garden
Floor"
means
"semi-basement",
as
the
room
was
below
ground
level.
The
bedroom
was
completely
underground
with
no
windows,
and
the
only
light
came
in
through
the
living
room
area
where
there
was
1
window
(that's
1
window
in
the
entire
apartment).
I
guess
"Garden
Floor"
just
sounds
a
lot
better
than
"semi-basement"
for
advertising,
because
who'd
want
to
go
on
holiday
to
beautiful
sunny
Turkey
to
stay
in
a
room
underground
right?
The
room
also
had
exposed
electrical
wiring,
damage
on
the
wall,
was
damp
and
humid
and
had
a
smell
due
to
that
(it's
underground
and
in
rainy
season,
nightmare).
I
brought
all
of
this
to
the
attention
of
the
manager,
his
only
solution
was
"pay
more
for
a
better
room".
Nice.
We
left
immediately
and
moved
to
an
amazing
place
just
a
5
minutes
walk
away
that
was
cheaper,
bigger,
higher
quality
and
had
a
great
host
managing
the
place,
the
listing
is
called
"amazing
palace
in
a
very
nice
location"
on
AirBnB
if
anyone
wants
to
check
it
out.
AirBnB
gave
us
a
full
refund
after
seeing
the
photos
and
hearing
our
issues
with
Furkan
Homes
after
the
manager
refused,
so
at
least
we
didn't
lose
any
money
from
dealing
with
this
at
the
start
of
our
trip.
