This is a lovely little hotel which is very well placed. Although the rooms are a little bit on the small side they are very nice and are fully fitted. The staff are very pleasant and I highly recommend the breakfast which was superb. Service and attention to detail was second to none, not to mention the brilliant little touches. I very much look forward to our next visit.

Ideal location for exploring the town. Car parking available. Rooms clean and comfortable with flat screen TV showing multiple channels including Canal+. Bottled water provided Walk-in shower with pump action shower gel and hair shampoo dispensers. Dressing gowns provided.

Very overpriced for what they offer. Completely unhelpful and will say whatever to get rid of you. We arrived there and we were informed their parking lot is full, and when we inquired where we could park the attendant said “I don’t know, I don’t have a car.” Made us carry baby stroller up and down the stairs with no help and no elevator. Air conditioning was down, called lobby three times in a span of 5 hours and every time they say in ten minutes it’ll be fixed, they're sending someone up to us - nobody ever showed up. The amenities of the room include a kettle that smelled so bad because it was moldy. You would expect better from a “4 star hotel” that is $400 per night.

Very pleasant hotel nested in the center of la Rochelle. Close to everything the staff will do their best to satisfy your needs. The spa is great for two and provides some fun water massage. The rooms are charming, modern and practical and the upper ones are really worth it.

Great little hotel, well located with friendly service. We were lucky to get a good deal on this as I'm not sure I would have been happy to have paid full price. The room had everything we needed, it was quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The staff provided us with a cot for our daughter. The quirky modern arty decor and location made it spot on for a quick visit to la Rochelle.

Totally unsympathetic hotel. Our dog is seriously ill so we can't travel and it's not covered by insurance. Paid £509.52 for 2 nights and management are totally not prepared to refund - not even a part refund. They just want to keep the money, having to provide no service and being able to earn twice on the room. Shameful. As you can see from their reply below, they really couldn't care less and are quite happy to keep my money and sell the room again.

When we arrived, I thought we were at the wrong hotel. The exterior appeared very run down and the street the hotel was situated in looked like it should be in an episode of 'Call The Midwife' or 'Allo Allo'. Check in was smooth and we were taken to our room. The journey was through very dark lift and corridors (looks like someone forgot to pay the meter) but our room was clean and bright. Not really a 4* hotel in our opinion but this said, the hotel was located in a great location, very close to the harbour. For this hotel to earn its 4* rating, little things like a wonky toilet seat, ripped plastic / nylon carpet and broken light bulbs need to be fixed. To many hotels rate themselves as boutique in our opinion simply because they through wacky pictures on the walls. Overall a good hotel but has some way to go to earn those 4 stars.

Service client lamentable pour un hotel de ce 'standing'. So disappointed by the hotel customer service, very unfriendly staff!

Great location if you are staying in La Rochelle for a few nights. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Rooms small but clean and had all the facilities. Disappointing that the Spa was not open so would be nice to return one day to experience this. Breakfast was exceptional, so much choice and all the pastries home-made.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in August 23 and had a lovely stay. We drove to La Rochelle and paid for parking at the hotel. Parking was secure and on the hotel grounds - which was excellent. The rooms were excellent, large, good air con and the bed was huge. Very clean and the staff were great and helpful (spoke multiple languages). The hotel itself is positioned so well. A two minute walk onto a street of excellent restaurants and bars and five minutes in the opposite direction to the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved this charming hotel and it's excellent location. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and kindly offered to make a dinner reservation on our behalf. Hotel La Monnaie is less than 5 minutes walk away from a huge selection of bars and restaurants. We stayed on a Tuesday night and were able to visit the market in the morning before carrying on with our journey. Parking at the hotel is limited so it is worth booking in advance. Our next trip to La Rochelle will include a longer stay at this hotel, probably next year when the spa is open in 2024. Highly recommended.
