Friendly. Aesthetic + peaceful. Good coffee. Quills provides a community-feel good environment in the East Market District of Louisville, close to the Bourbon District. Ample parking outside the street. Gorgeous historic, red-brick building. Baristas are quite welcoming upon entry and provided excellent service throughout (after I had unfortunately spilled my latte, they offered to make another and cleaned the space). Abundant seating inside (with plenty of outlets) and outside (complete with gorgeous trees and fairy lights). The lattes are rich and deep, delicious. I recommend that one tries their homemade pastries - as the moist coffee cake and flavorful lemon blueberry scone were delectable. Plenty of community events advertised along the walls, so the building appeared to serve as a nice community hub, which added to the pleasant experience.

Great coffee shop with a quintessential coffee shop experience and vibes. Nice wide open space with tall ceilings and plenty of places to sit. Low key music that isn’t too loud or intrusive. Beautiful outdoor seating area. Friendly and helpful barista. Reasonably priced coffee. Delicious bagels with good choices for spreads, as well as plenty of pastries.

At first I was elated but by the time I left I was obsessed. The quality ingredients and skilled preparation of our drinks coupled with the friendly service and lively atmosphere has made Quills Coffee stand out from the dozens of shops I've visited across the country. We ordered the miele and espresso old fashioned.

Easy 5 star coffee/tea shop. The ambiance is so relaxing, and the service is quick and efficient. I got a hibiscus tea, and it was very good! The shop was clean and had some gorgeous plants! It is simply a great place to be. 😍 🪴

Really cool coffee shop with high quality flavorful drink options. The interior is spacious with a minimalist and funky vibe. The seating area in the back is cool and would look great at night with all the hanging lights. The service was super friendly and helpful with our questions. If we lived in town this would be one of our preferred coffee spots. If you’re looking for quality coffee drinks then this is the place for you!

Awesome place and staff were cool and friendly! Positive vibes here and some cool art on the wall! Loved the ambience and the patio area outside! My drink was the Alchemist. Highly recommend!

Definitely one of my top cafes to go to now in Louisville. Cortado was very good, could be better but still excellent. Bought their Guatemalan Geisha beans, delicious as a pour-over, sweet and smooth, very balanced cup. 10/10!

Being a barista at Quills was the best job that I have ever had. The employees, at all levels, truly truly love one another and this company. I will miss Quills being a part of my every day. Also, Corey is such a hardworking and deserving friend. Go congratulate him on being the new FH manager, and give the rest of the team some love.

Awesome coffee shop. The cold brew was strong and delicious, and the vibes inside were chill and inviting. I think more options are typically available (food, alcohol) but that was unavailable when we visited. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Louisville!

Good coffee with a nice selection. Many prepared menu items are available for a wide tang of dietary needs. The facility is well laid out and felt welcoming. The staff was very kind and took the time to tell me about the business when I ask questions about the facility. You could sense the love that they have for coffee, their job, and the company. I can imagine their other locations are done with the same level of Excellence. The outdoor seating area would be comfortable to meet and catch up with friends . . . as long as your a paying customer. Next time I think I'll try to plan it where I can get a tour of the roasting and Barista training facility . . . if that is an option. Maybe take a intro class for a non-barista if it's offered.

Generally I would give this place 5 stars but recently my orders have constantly been wrong. I work down the street and my coworkers and I prefer ordering here more than the other coffee shop in the neighborhood, but we've been pretty disappointed the lately. It's one thing to something wrong every now and then but another for it to be almost every order we make. I hope they can get their groove back soon. The outdoor space is lovely and well kept, the staff is generally pretty nice.

Absolutely love this spot right in the middle of the city! It’s close to a lot of things I enjoy and a great place for me to work on my laptop when I need a spot with reliable WiFi and good coffee. Wish there was a bit more seating inside though.

Although a small local chain, this place is a gem for coffee and espresso lovers. Very authentic drinks and friendly skilled people making them up!

Best coffee in town by far. I've become a serious coffee connoisseur over the years and especially love pour-overs. If you love coffee that is true high quality with lots of complex flavors, no where else in town comes close to Quills!

Great sitting out back in the "yard." We had two great coffees. Sure wish they had some bagel sandwiches. We felt the muffins were too heavy after eating them before our hike. The lack of bagel sandwiches held us back from a 5 star. Heck we went right back on our on our way out for 3 pkgs of beans to take back home.

Nice atmosphere; sound system a little better than average and music choices solid and at a nice volume. Ordered a pour-over with one of their single origin roasts. Really nice flavor, bright and flowery and at perfect temp.

Do not be deceived by their listed menu highlights. After traveling across town to visit we found out that they do not in fact service the aforementioned highlights. Here’s a picture of their bountiful offerings at 3:10pm.

Best latte I have ever had! We've been in Louisville for a few days and I have gone every day since I've been here, sometimes even twice! The Woodsman latte with brown sugar and cinnamon is SO good. I also like their take on a pumpkin spice latte. The baristas and workers were super friendly for the most part. The vibe outside is just so peaceful and fun. I love how much seating they have. It was lovely to sit outside under the big beautiful trees and see all the people drinking their delicious coffee and feeling the breeze. I'm going to miss Quills so much when we leave! It's the perfect place to get the best latte of your life and enjoy reading a good book.

Lovely place. Met a friend there and enjoyed a rich conversation with a very pleasing cappuccino and dessert. Very relaxing and pleasingly rustic for those who appreciate such things.

The roasters at Quill, like the master distillers that make Louisville great, are truly great. I have had five different roasts of theirs from Africa to Latin America and every one was great. They were working out the kinks on some staffing at this "Firehouse" location but addressed my concerns right away when I provided feedback. If you're serious about coffee, I highly recommend checking them out.

Love this coffee establishment. Their house inkwell is a little too dark for my delicate tastebuds but their rotating is always there to hug me in the mouth. Free wifi and plenty of seats, inside and outside

Great shop and excellent espresso. Bonus points for the sparkling water side car. There’s a Beautiful backyard patio to sit and sip your drink too - can’t wait to come back!

When I walked in the door I noticed a very warm and hip atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and the Mystic Coffee Soda was the most unique thing I've tasted in a long time. I will be back again soon and I highly recommend it.

They make a delicious cortado. My wife got a latte which was also very good. We have gone twice since we were in town and both times were very good!

An excellent coffee shop with a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. I am very particular about coffee and the coffee here is amazing. They roast their coffee onsite and it’s very fresh. The baristas are professionally trained and pull some incredible espresso!!!

Quills is one of my favorite coffee shops in Louisville. I moved to Cleveland a few years ago and still purchase the Inkwell blend coffee online. I’m SO happy they have single or subscription purchases online. My favorite way to make it is French press, It’s always so frothy and foamy. Highly highly recommend.
