Horrible experience with rude staff. Find some place elsewhere to spend your money. After queuing for almost 1 hour, a Portuguese friend of ours inside informed us that there was still just a very small crowd inside. When it was our turn to enter, the bouncer told us that because they are anticipating a large crowd later (there was infact a large crowd coming behind us in the queue) they could not let us in (3 girls 2 boys) because it is his preference to not accept Irish people. His exact words! As we were made leave the queue, he continued to accept all other nationalities. We had never been to this place before. Would not recommend you to go either if you’re Irish as they blatantly do not want us in there!

My two friends and I tried to get in on June 20th at around 3am. The bouncer would not let us in simply because we were American. He was extremely rude and hostile. We will never be coming back.

Very nice place to drink something in the middle of old city. There are a lot of tables and places to stay. The fries are really good.

Upon my visit to the Boston Cafe last Saturday night with my Irish friends, we were refused entry for the sole reason of our nationality. Despite the fact Boston is advertised as a quirky Irish bar, we were refused entry as the bouncer believes, and I quote, “Irish people are too loud and messy when they get drunk”. For this reason, the bouncer felt it was reasonable to refuse our entry without giving us a reason, and they even threatened to call the police. We were simply hurt and appalled at his behaviour and we will surely not return. Do not waste your time with Boston.

Very discriminatory towards Irish people. The bouncer said that he would not allow a group of Irish people in while they were busy even though it was an Irish bar! Felt very hurt, do not go here!!

Boston becomes a type of night club the Fridays and weekends. They had a great selection of music and even if there was a waiting line for 15 minutes, it was worth it. I totally recommend to go there after 24:00 and go drink something somewhere else before hand dur to the great amount of people inside Boston - it’s going to be difficult to be served.

We discover this pub in a serendipal way and this discovered will be the turning point of our Erasmus in Lyon. It's the most beautiful pub I've ever seen in my whole life, good music, free access, good cocktail and chupitos. So, if you want to change your day you must go to the Boston club😎

This is the most horrible club in Lyon. The security was immature. If you want to get in you should bring diapers for the security, just a tip. Gugaga

Probably a good bar if you're young but music was too loud and the bar was very busy. Probably not the venue for me!

Excellent food and ambiance. Somewhat "taverne" in style, which is great, but a little more lighting to be able to properly read the menus would be excellent. Once you're able to read the food and drinks menu...you're in for a treat ! The burger menu is great, some good artisan made beers are proposed, for an honest price. The staff are welcoming and the time from the order taking to serving of food and drinks is quite short. An issue though is ...going to the toilets: the toilets are in the basement of the restaurant, which is fine, but they're just across the kitchen. And you can smell the cooked oil going to the toilets. The toilets themselves are very clean.

bouncers are really shady. music was a good selection but played really quietly and it took 40 minutes of waiting to get one drink. save ur time and money by going somewhere else.

Cool bar cool music. Security gaurds got mad when I told them i liked their Celtics jerseys. I guess they don't know what they're wearing?

Fun place to dance if you're drunk. Would not dare to venture in sober. Music is actually quite good like 2010-2016 radio bangers. My friends and I always end up here by accident so it can't be too bad...

Very cheap beer, the only good side of this avoidable establishment. As many other reviews mention, the bouncer is quite hostile, not welcoming at all, erratic and inconsistent. Just weird, especially on a Monday night with an empty bar, why should he be making comments on how many males or how many females are in our group? Furthermore, no food inside: we were vaguely told that some component or equipment was broken, so that the entirety of the kitchen was closed, and if we wanted food we should go to another bar next door and order there. The barman was indeed not polite or welcoming either. In general, just a strange place, with an off vibe that was unsettling and eerie. We laughed it off but we surely won't ever come back and will discourage people from visiting it.
