This restaurant is more than savory croquettes, and we can assure you with the sweet croquette. Unfortunately, we had to sit at the counter, but at the end was a good experience due to the closer service we got from the staff. As entrees, we asked for the curry soap, fries and croquettes. The start here was surprisingly the soap! For dessert we asked for the apple-pie croquette, which you can see by the photo, is extremely mouth watering, and it was delicious. The environment was calm, suitable for a group-dinner.

We went on the 30th of December 2023. It was wonderful. Great food, amazing service, Istvan helped us and has perfect knowledge about how to combine the food and wine. We highly recommend the Risotto and cheese plateau. Great experience!

We booked a table for two, which was good as when we arrived it was busy. The atmosphere was immediately very nice and the staff made us feel at home. They have embraced the concept of food sharing, which was expressed by a menu of small dishes, similar to tapas. The menu is unique because they have a variety of croquettes, of which some are a weekly special. We especially enjoyed the mushroom-truffle croquet. Another Dutch snack is the tartare, which we also ordered. All of the dishes were presented very well and were served with a small salad that was fresh and had a nice dressing. Alongside the food we enjoyed a nice red wine. We ended up trying so many dishes we did not order a dessert. We did leave the bistro however with a sweat taste as the staff offered us a delicious bonbon. We highly recommend this place!

Lovely place to go to eat something in Maastricht city for dinner, great appetizers and snacks. Family time and great ice cream dessert with strawberry and flower seeds on top (maybe ask the counter desk if they still have it since it was for the day).

On the last evening of our city trip Maastricht, we went to Bistro Croquant. What a nice experience! The concept, the music and the atmosphere were so different!! We really enjoyed eating different croquettes with a very kind service… Some combinations that you would never do; they dare to; and the result is unbelievable; for example olive oil on ice cream!! Definitely a must go when you are in Maastricht…

Unexpectedly delicious! Had no idea at what I was about to try. Located on an anuassuming part of the city centre, this gem of a bistro serves one of the best and tastiest dishes, I've ever had. The personnel is lovely and very inviting as well. Overall one of the best places to eat at in Maastricht.

This restaurant is always a safe choice if you look for delicious food and good vibes. I went there again yesterday with friends and we enjoyed the delicious croquettes, beef stew and risotto (must-have). Great service, highly recommended!

Cannot praise this place highly enough. The chap that served us (Stephen from Budapest) was excellent, very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, they suggested wine to suit our tastes and to go with our menu choices. Stephen shared lots of local knowledge and recommended other places for us to go. Informal bistro that focus as their name suggests in fried bites like croquettes and bitterballen. They offer a pretty good variety of those plus some bigger meals (sort of fancy pub food) that rotates seasonally. Very small wine list but well selected. Loved the possibility to order later at night in contrast with the average Dutch restaurant where the kitchen often is already closed by 9pm. We were seated at the shared table and our waiter did a great job in making us have a great time.

Food was delicious. Variety of Croquettes. For sure, my favorite the mushroom truffle one. Risotto was tasty and dessert quite a surprise! Definitely the perfect choice to go out for a casual dinner with some friends or you partner 🙂

I am not a big eater and and I do not mind to pay extra money for a better culinary experience. The Bistro Croquant is basically a tapas restaurant- small dishes for big prices. While the dishes and the service were mostly good - they were definitely not worth the price tag.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent creative food, super friendly and attentive staff. Recommend pairing wines with dishes for the full experience. Will not hesitate to return.

What a wonderful place. So glad I was here. This is fine dining with a delicious twist on the good old Dutch Kroket, but better so much better. The croquette desert wit apple was amazing. The croquette with shrimp is to die for. The risotto perfectly cooked. Could not find flaw. Service amazing and attentive. Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere. Great Service. They really took care of us. And lovely new tastes with good ingredients! For me a great place to check out what the regional cuisine is about. Dishes can be shared...prices moderate (from my perspective) and good to go there with a group in a relaxed atmosphere. We were all happy and full with 3 dishes each. 5 People with 230€ incl. Drinks (aperitif, wine, beer, water). For Maastricht i find it quite ok ^^ We had a great stay there. Cheers to the hungarian guy who guided us :) Very nice and competent. We will come back for sure!

We had a great dinner on our first night in Maastricht at this lovely restaurant. Great attention to detail, high quality ingredients and a peaceful dining experience. We tried many of the dishes and found theirs some of the best we had over the three days. We sampled several types and added some frites as well. Charming location as well.

This is a really nice restaurant in Maastricht. I've been here a number of times and it's always been a favorite. Food is good, service is okay for Dutch standards, a bit on the expensive side for the portions but I would say worth it due to the food. Last night I had the risotto, asparagus and ham croquette and the caramel ice cream with pop corn and olive oil. All delicious.

It was a really good experience coming here. You can go there with a few people and order some stuff in the middle and try them all together. The food was really good and the staff was so friendly. And they helped us a lot while picking too.

Very nice Restaurant. With open kitchen and friendly staff. They do have a good technique and dishes are well presented and executed. Quality / price is also decent compare to other Restaurants in the Netherlands. Highly recommended!

I had never tried traditional Belgian food and the croquettes were a revelation. Incredibly tasty, I wish we could have stayed in Maastricht longer just to eat here again. Absolutely recommend!

An amazing concept delivered with some great service by our astute waiter! Having lived in the Netherlands for some time this has to be the first time I’ve had “kroket” served delicately and with amazing dips and sauces!!!

Delicious! The food is great and you never tried it somewhere else, the restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is really cosy. The staff is also nice, helpful and professional. Must try: the paddenstoel croquette, the risotto and the lamb burger.

A great dining experience in Maastricht. They have a range of bitterballen & croquettes with some experimental twists and also some other delicious dishes to explore. Stuff is also very friendly. I would definitely recommend
