Worst place at the beautiful Vrijthof square. The young waiter let us wait for a while before being super rude asking for our drinks. While the order was clear we got served a beer we did not order which he returned. When we had to pay, the beer we did not order was on the receipt and he kept pushing us to pay for it. After explaining this he said he did not care and started yelling and sent us away. Do not go here.

Kellner beraten auch auf Nachfrage, welche gängigen Biere bei Ihnen getrunken werden. Hier kann man innen wie außen zu einer richtigen Mahlzeit wie auch für einen Snack oder das Feierabend Bier einkehren. (Google Übersetzer) Aangename sfeer. Kan nu niet alle gerechten beoordelen. Drankjes, amusement en gerechten spreken voor zich. Obers adviseren ook op aanvraag, waarbij gewone bieren bij u worden gedronken. Hier kunt u genieten van een echte maaltijd zowel binnen als buiten, maar ook voor een snack of na werkbier.

Leider nicht professionell. Die Ente war nicht essbar, sehnig. Darüber würde gelacht, kein Ersatz oder ähnliches Angeboten. Toiletten nicht gepflegt. Typische Touristenfalle ☹️ Essen sah aber sehr gut aus!

Gemoedelijk café/restaurant met lekkere gerechten. Je zit er prima aan het Vrijthof. Zeker een aanrader!

It was fine. One of the staff was not in the mood, he was talking serious and kinda angry which is fine. We all had bad days. But two things happened which I didn't like. I asked for tap water and he said it's not possible which it was weird!!!! He said I'm not allowed , you should buy buttle. Second when we wanted to pay he said it's not possible to split !!! It's first time I experience such thing in whole europ or even in Maastricht after living more than a year. Overall food was good and service was fast enough.

No, sorry - too bad. The Angus beef was raw, and we were never asked how we wanted it (4 people sharing 1000g). 1 piece was returned, impossible to cut. In the beginning they showed attention, at the end nothing at all. Waiting for 20 minutes after the main course without anyone at all coming by to offer us any dessert. We paid and left. Group of 9. Not going back here soon.

Comfortable. Young, kind staff who were kind even on a busy evening. The food was attractive and delicious. The hot camembert out of the oven with bread and local stew were great.

Nice location, good value, friendly staff

There are several good cafes overlooking the Vrijthof (open square). Excellent spot to people watch and see the sunset. Food was very good. The traditional dish and steak were both excellent. I would have like the steak to be a bit larger. Order the frites as a side. Brand is the local beer and they certainly carry a wide selection of that. Staff was very helpful and patient. They will allow you to stay as long as you'd like so take your time and enjoy it

Nice pub, beautiful location, visitors in all ages, friendly waiters walk around even when it is crowded. Outside tables are heated and there is a nice big room on the 1st floor to have diner in private. Food is nice, dishes are not expensive (10-15 Euro range) and there are many drinks/beers to chose from. Only downside were the bathrooms.

Always a good choice to bring foreign tourists. Because of its heritage, its beers and its "bitterballs"

We had drinks and couple of desserts. I appreciated the fact that they had Ardbeg on the menu. Their gin tonic was top-notch and served timely. The place has definitely a character. Dont be fooled by its exterior and step in without hesitation!

Great localisation in the heart of Vrijhof. Tasty food, delicious coffee. Nice and kind service.

We stopped here for drink stops on Friday and Saturday. The waitress also managed to book us into the restaurant for an evening meal on Friday. The Zuurvlees (beef stew) was excellent and the Gluhwein we had on the drink stops was very nice and warming. On Saturday we tried it with added amaretto/rum. Even more warming. The service on both occasions was excellent too, the staff were friendly and had time to answer our questions even though they were extremely busy. Well done to them. We will go back here again.
