Dezful
water
mills
are
one
of
the
valuable
historical
monuments
of
Dezful
city,
which
have
been
registered
among
the
national
monuments
of
the
country.
The
number
of
mills
in
the
Safavid
period
was
about
50
to
60,
and
some
of
them
were
destroyed
due
to
seasonal
floods.
Dezful
water
mills
are
located
in
different
parts
of
Dez
river.
Part
of
them
were
built
at
a
distance
of
about
800
meters
from
the
regulatory
dam
(Dezful)
and
south
of
Dez
beach
resort,
a
part
under
the
new
(second)
Dezful
bridge
and
another
part
next
to
the
old
bridge
of
this
city.
The
historical
background
of
Dezful
water
mills
in
relation
It
was
with
the
old
bridge
(Dezful)
which
dates
back
to
the
Sassanid
era,
but
the
majority
of
the
existing
works
of
mills
in
three
parts
of
the
river
date
back
to
the
Safavid
and
Qajar
historical
periods.
These
structures
are
made
of
materials
such
as
river
rubble,
bricks
and
They
are
built
with
Saroj
mortar.
The
architectural
form
of
the
mills
is
derived
from
the
local
architectural
style
of
Dezful
city
and
they
are
built
as
a
connected
complex
and
are
connected
to
each
other.
Rebuilding
and
setting
up
the
wheel
of
one
of
the
mills,
this
complex
has
been
called
the
water
museum,
which
has
been
well
received.
