This iconic place is a true gem in the city. While it may be more popular among locals, it doesn't disappoint when it comes to delivering a unique experience. The standout feature is, of course, the "Giant Orange" 🍊 shaped building, which alone is worth the visit. The menu primarily offers fast food options such as hot dogs, corn, onion rings, fries, brownies, sandwiches, burgers, and, of course, refreshing orange juice. You can't go wrong with any choice as everything is delicious, and the orange juice tastes absolutely wonderful. Keep in mind that this is primarily a takeout spot, so be prepared to enjoy your meal inside your car or find a cozy spot to sit and eat, such as popping the trunk or making use of the small bench area at the end of the parking lot, weather permitting. This place transforms during the summer and especially at night, attracting a gathering of beautiful cars and bikes that truly showcase their muscle. Overall, this spot is perfect for a quick bite and is an undeniable icon of Montreal. It's a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, offering a memorable experience that combines tasty food, unique surroundings, and a glimpse into the city's vibrant culture.

Just go and get the orange shake!!!! It's creamy but retains the tangy sweetness of orange juice. It was SO GOOD that I was tempted to go back for another one. I just love the vibe of this place. Even though it's a takeout/pit stop for fast food, there's something very nostalgic about this kitschy orange structure. I really wish there was a sitting area but I went in winter so not really a big deal.

Classic spot in Montreal. Always hit up this spot whenever we’re in the city. I don’t know what they put in their orange juice but NOTHING takes like it. It’s very delicious, sweet but not overly sweet and not too citrusy. Their poutine was good too. Worth the wait in line to check out this place. Plenty of seating outside to sit and enjoy your food. If you really like the orange juice, you can buy bigger jugs to go.

An iconic spot to visit! The orange juice is light and sweet with a creamy texture- a classic. The hot dogs were good too. The fries were quite sweet though and we wish it came with ketchup.

Lackluster experience. Visited for the first and last time. Overpriced food, disinterested staff, no seating or washrooms. Solely famous for the huge orange orb and that they have been in business for a long time. Also a lot of bike and car groups meet up to show off their rides with music which is probably the only time worth visiting, but don't spend your money on anything here lol. Paid $18 for a meal with hot dog, poutine, and orange juice. When I asked for more sauce she added $3 to the check. Ridiculous. More of a tourist trap and for travelers on the highway I guess. With so high prices I thought tips are included in staff salaries but the machine asks for tips too haha. The same would have cost $10 or less at Decarie Hot Dogs or some of the other OG places like Chez Ma Tante, Montreal Pool Room, Chez Claudette etc.

This spot is popular because it's been around for years. However, the quality of the food has really gone down while the prices have gone up! The service seemed rushed, and they forgot part of the order. The pogos were bland and very basic. The pretzel was also bland with very little cheese filled in. The poutine was alright, and the hot dogs were so so. The actual orange drink was good, but they cost around $17, which is crazy. Probably wouldn't go back here for a while.

Top orange juice secret mix. Refreshing. Different. Tasty. You can order even an XL mini jar for 5-6 people (for about $17) Check out the combos. You can get 2 hot dogs, 1 fries 1 small orange julep (for $15). And there are plenty.

Their orange juice is absolutely delicious and pulpy. The poutine tastes good as well. A small portion of poutine is enough to fill your stomach. Definitely worth it.

What attracts people to this place is especially the unique architecture of the Orange ball, the vintage cars in the parking lot and also for its orange juice 🍊. Food is fine for a fast food place. However, in my opinion, it is a little bit more expensive than other fast food chains. Good place to hangout once in your life with some friends if you never tried this place before. Also, it is a great place to visit as a tourist if you come by Montreal during the summer. I would suggest to visit this place at least once in your life if you live near or in Montreal or if you are only visiting the city for a few days. In other words, great place to discover 👌

Definitely worth a visit, at least once. Tried their orange juice for the first time. It had quite a different taste and I loved it, they definitely add sugar (alot? Cane sugar?). I asked the server what ingredients they add to their orange juice, she couldn't tell me but confirmed that they definitely add sugar. Though the taste is unique and really addictive when fresh, the price is bit high. They also have 1L cans for takeout that I would not recommend to anyone because it does not taste the same after a few hours and definitely not as good after 24 hours.

The best poutine and hot dogs I’ve had in Montreal. The flavour of the gravy was incredible, the fries were super crispy even after being drenched with gravy. The hot dog bun was toasted beautifully and was an incredible hotdog. The Orange Julep was a must get, and I still regret not buying the jug. Overall, this would definitely put a smile on your face after consuming, highly recommend.

While some people may enjoy an intensely sweet beverage, I found this orange juice to be overpowering. The initial burst of citrus flavor was promising, but it was quickly overshadowed by an overwhelming wave of artificial sweetness. The balance between the sweetness and natural orange taste was completely off, making it difficult to fully appreciate the juice. Additionally, the high sugar content raises concerns from a health perspective. Unless you have an extreme craving for sugary drinks, I would recommend exploring other options for a more balanced and enjoyable orange juice experience.

A rather friendly place to hang out with friends and family. The orange Julep juice is delicious, a big must. Love the place, but it's a little bit expensive for what you get. A good experience overall, perfect place for a late snack.

Noo!!! Not even a 1 star! The orange juice is soo not natural, sweeter than maple syrup and there’s a plastic aftertaste! Hotdogs are okay, way below average ok. Poutine! The cherry on top! The fries are clearly fried in an oil that wasn’t changed since they opened the place. This place has a huge parking space in a prime location that can literally be used for something more than a giant orange ball that serves diabetic food.

Visited this place 3 times during our 2-week stay in Canada. Best orange juice ever. Not sure if it is fresh orange juice but it tasted absolutely amazing. Come by and try it out yourself and you will leave Montreal with no regrets!

A must visit to Orange Julep if you are in Montreal. My first impression was its just orange juice how special can it be. But when I tried their orange juice and the orange frappe it changed my perspective. It’s different and very refreshing tasted really good in the hot weather. Although I could tell the sugar content on the drinks were high but its not a regular thing to have in my opinion. They also have good selection of fast food available which I didn’t get the chance to try, maybe next time im in Montreal I will try the food. There’s plenty of seating available right outside the orange dome and massive space for parking.

One of my favourite places! I rarely go to the area and i live quite far. It turns out i was near Julep yesterday and decided to satisfy my long awaited cravings! Got some hot dogs, burgers and of course a liter of their legendary orange juice. The juice is extremely sweet, rumors said it is mixed with ice cream! It’s a great decadent treat! Unsure about the calories though! There was a small lineup and we waited less than 10 minutes to get our order.

It was alright. I do not really understand all the hype revolving this big orange. The location was cool but still doesn't justify the hype. The drink was a bit better than average and the food was barely average. With expensive prices and food that does not meet my expectations even for fast food, I can not recommend this place for the food. If you still want to check it out eat beforehand and order the orange juice drink it is unique.

I come here for the juice. Personally never tried the food. Maybe next time. Always big line ups, but they're efficient and have a good system. If you're 2 or more people it's better to get the Jug it's the best bang for your buck. Never had a bad experience here. Longest had to wait was 20mins..

This is classic in Montreal definitely a place to visit. The drink they have is great and worth trying, dispute being fairly sweet. The poutine tasted good. The service is just ok, most likely due to them being quite busy.

Highly recommend it if you’re looking for water infused with sugar and a bit of orange coloring. It tastes like extremely sweet water. Had absolutely no taste of orange juice. It was an abomination to call it a ‘fresh orange juice’.

A staple of Montreal for years and it's easy to see why. If you're in the area you should stop and have at least a hot dog (or 2) and an orange julep. The drink is delicious, the poutine is exactly what you expect it to be. No bells, no whistles.. Simply delicious and you'll leave satisfied.

Famous orange juice was just okay — somewhere inbetween fresh Florida orange juice and an orange Julius shake. Too sweet for me but it was fun to try. Burgers were good, nothing out of the ordinary but the fries had us coming back for more. Was excited that they had veggie dogs on the menu! Prices are fair and affordable. Worth the visit!

Go to place for fresh and unique tasting orange juice. A bit on the pricier side but you’re not going to taste OJ like this anywhere else. Apparently there’s nice cars parked in the lot at certain times during the day but we didnt see any when we went mid afternoon. Cool spot to hang out to eat some food on a sunny day!

Orange Gibeau in Montreal provided an amazing experience! I recently tried their orange juice, and it's an absolute delight — the flavor is awesome, and I highly recommend everyone to try it at least once. Moreover, the convenience of their parking facility adds to the overall positive experience. A must-visit for a refreshing treat!

Certainly not cheap for basic food truck meals, but the portions are generous. A large poutine could easily feed two people. The famous orange juice is on the sweeter side so the taste may be surprising for those trying it for the first time. Service was friendly and fast.

Can’t go to Montreal and not visit Julep! Their orange juice is obviously a must have every single time! So delicious. However even their food options are really tasty. I’ve tried their poutine, and chicken wings and both were great! The place usually does have a line up that moves quick, but definitely come visit and try if you come to Montreal.

Burger was good and the onion rings was great but it’s not worth the price One triple burger one hamburger one small fries one onion rings and two orange juice for 49$ And I don’t understand the hype about their orange juice it has 0 naturel flavor. Their medium ice cream was 5.54$ that’s absolutely not worth it, daisy queen is 500x times better for half the price . I’m out .

This is one of the city’s icons. In my opinion is more for locals, than for tourists. I was staying in “old Montreal” and it’s a 20-25 minute drive. Despite the distance, I was not disappointed. The mere “giant orange” 🍊 shaped building is worth the trip. The menu is mostly fast food (hot dogs, corn, dogs, sandwiches, burgers, etc.) and of course “orange juice”. You can’t miss, as everything is delicious. Do consider that this is a takeout place. So be prepared to eat inside your car, or if the weather is merciful, you can sit outside in a small bench area at the end of the parking lot (when I visited, it was -5 degrees outside 🥶).

So, everyone said to come here because you just have to! And we did and it didn’t disappoint!! We ordered hotdogs and they were delicious! No hotdog buns but just cradled in a piece of sliced bread. So good!!! The orange julep was refreshing and the fries were sweet!!! A great stop for a quick snack. Service was also quick!

A classic place in Montreal to visit. It's best on a nice sunny day where you can sit and enjoy your food outdoors. It's great for motorcycle meet ups as the parking lot is huge and it's a solid landmark. The food is your standard fast food fare and if you're vegetarian the veggie dogs are great. The veggie burger is good but won't really compare to something like and Impossible or Beyond burger.

Their famous orange juice is creamy and has its own unique flavour. I would recommend going there and try it out yourself if you haven't. Their classic poutine is to die for, the gravy was rich and tasty, and there were a lot of cheese curds too. You can’t go wrong with the ambiance and the parking lot vibe specially during summer.

Was told that coming here was a requirement when visiting Montreal. We arrived for lunch and there was quite a line up. We ordered hot dogs and Julep. They were both quite good. I'm glad we went because it was a bit of an experience. The Julep is interesting. Some people were buying jugs of it but I just thought it was ok.

An iconic Montreal landmark that has been around forever! Since it's almost winter, they now have a small addition in the front so you don't have to stand in the cold to order and eat your food. During the warmer months, there isn't the addition so you can just walk up to the windows to place your order. They serve hot dogs, soda and I believe fries. I go just to get a jug of their famous orange juice! Plenty of free parking.

This is a Montreal staple so you have to try at least once. However, I have to say that I don’t like their orange juice because its too sweet and doesn’t taste natural at all.. their poutine is good but too salty.

  • 4/5 Cindy 2 months ago on Google • 100 reviews New
According to Google Maps, it's a bit far from downtown Montreal, but it's actually located in a busy commercial area. The iconic Big Orange figure is hard to miss. We visited after 8 pm and were surprised to find a bustling crowd still coming to buy orange juice and other fast food items. The orange juice was exceptionally if it was the natural sweetness of the oranges or added sugar. Regardless, it's a fun experience for tourists. The washroom is located behind the Big Orange, you need to exit the building. A bottle of orange juice, resembling a about 2L bottle, costs about $20, making it a nice gift to bring to a friend's house.

Food was ready in less than 3 minutes, the orange milkshake had a very impressive flavor, I really enjoyed it. The only problem was that the burger I ordered was very small, it may be due to the one I chose but for the price, it was not what I expected, sure there are other burger options that may be bigger but more expensive. Service was great, the lady who attended me was very kind and helpful, she shared her positive energy to me and possibly the rest of the people at the restaurant. Overall, food was nice and it's an iconic place, I would recommend taking the breakfast options.

Absolutely LOVE the Orange Julep. The energy around here is such a vibe, and the drink itself is so frothy and refreshing. We stopped here 2-3 times on our short trip and picked up the biggest size (pictured) for our drive back home.

Classic in Montreal, and a must-go for tourists! There's no other places that make orange drinks and poutine like here. The poutine & fries sizes are generous. Even if the prices went up, it's still worth it. Never had a bad experiences with the employees. They are usually fast and efficient.

Hands down one of my favorite places in montreal. Forget the big apple and hello big orange. Perfection never tasting as good as these orange creamsicle tasting drinks. The glizzy dogs are so good 2 is not enough. Closing at 4am makes this place a 100% montreal staple!

Orange julep is the place to go for a late night snack! Truly an iconic spot in Montreal. My fiancé and I took a 30 min trip from downtown to the burbs and it was completely worth it. It was midnight, but that didn’t deter people from being gathered around the iconic orange ball to get some orange juice/poutine/hot dogs/cheese burgers. We ordered the number 4(medium orange julep, poutine and hot dog) and an additional medium orange julep. The orange juice lived up to the hype and was unlike any other. The poutine was classic and the hot dog was simple but filled with goodness. The dog was 100% beef served on Texas toast with relish and tons of onions. I highly recommend trekking up to the burbs for the julep.

Good veggie burger but nothing special. I used to love their club sandwich and julep and fries but haven’t had them in a while. Diluting the julep with normal orange juice is preferable because it’s sweet . This may not be a high rating but I still hope this landmark never goes out of biz

  • 3/5 Abby O. 2 years ago on Google
I was very excited to discover there's a Big Orange in Quebec to the Big Apple in Ontario, but this one serves orange julep (what Orange Julius is supposed to be) and fast food. It's what you'd expect food-wise... Classic greasy fare that would taste GLORIOUS after a night out or the morning after. The orange julep is refreshing though I personally found it a bit sweet for my taste. Definitely worth a try, but not likely a repeat destination for me.

The food is good (I got the hotdog and poutine combo) and the beverage is not exactly to my taste, but you can definitely feel the orange flavor! As a side note, it is not possible to dine-in! (But you can eat in your car since there’s a big parking lot 🚗)

  • 5/5 Best Q. 2 years ago on Google
Everyone knows the iconic big orange as they pass by on Decarie Blvd. - and for good reason. The secret recipe of the creamy, smooth, perfect mix of sweet and acid orange flavoured drink is refreshing any time of day, any time of year. Made even more legendary by the general ambiance of an old fashioned outdoor hangout with music playing from speakers on every corner and regular gatherings of various groups of vehicle enthusiasts (we happened to drive a Jeep to a Jeep meet purely by coincidence) Gibeau Orange Julep makes everyone feel welcome. If that wasn't enough the casse-croûte style food adds even more to the already splendid experience. The regular hot dogs are fantastic but if you enjoy it Michigan style -the savoury sauce is a must. Make an unapologetic mess of your face by devouring them accompanied by a classic poutine with a combination of simple ingredients that come together to form a good contender in a province spoiled by the highest grade of them. As lifelong fans of the Julep (drink and restaurant) it was and has always been and absolute pleasure to visit and we hope we will always be able to.

  • 2/5 Latina en C. 6 months ago on Google
Honestly, I won’t visit this place again. The French fries 🍟 are one of the worst I have ever tried… greasy, soft, and almost burnt. About the burger… it was ok. They don’t have dine in option, the space the have is big enough to fit the people that go to order, if you want to eat your food when it is still want, you will need to do it at your car… Oh, and the “freshly squeezed” orange juice… mmm I highly doubt it…

  • 5/5 Annabelle S. 8 months ago on Google
An iconic montreal institution and for good reason - their orange juleps are amazing! Keep in mind that although the large is truly LARGE, you should just get one, because a small and medium are good but once you start drinking you won't want to stop. It is light, sweet, cirtusy and refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. There are also lots of food options (think casse croute), as well as breakfast options and even montreal bagels with cream cheese. The staff was extremely friendly and kind and there is lots of seating around the big orange as well as shaded seating and picnic tables. If visiting Montreal, it's a must go at least once to see the iconic orange julep.

Didn’t know what all the hype was about until I had the first sip. Super tasty orange juice, you’d never expect it to taste so good! We went Civic Holiday weekend and it was mad hot, I wish they had umbrellas for the outdoor seating area. Also the lineup was super busy and they did make a mistake with our order so we had to wait a bit longer.

Such a nice place in Montreal. Their orange juice is a must try and if you don't get it then you didn't get the actual thing. Burgers and fries are really great. I am a vegetarian so I can say I loved it but I heard a lot of non-vegetarians said it's even better. Fries with spicy sauce is absolutely wonderfull. Park you car and eat there or take away.. its your choice. They are popular so expect to stand in line for at least 5-10 minutes.
