Great location right in center close to the square & cute shops. The hotel is clean, functional and has a nice lobby bar. My room had lots of natural light, plenty of plugs & a good amount of space for just myself. The bed was pretty uncomfortable though.. I could feel the springs in my back 😏. Overall, I would stay here again if in Nantes & hope for a better bed.

Location can't be better, it's right in the center of the old city, pedestrian streets, accessible with car provided with a special permission they give you upon arrival, they've got a nice garage easy to enter and to maneuver inside. The guys at the reception are kind and helpful, rooms are ok, you're clearly paying for the location IMO. Breakfast is varied and above average although a bit improvable, staff was cleaning up tables immediately after someone left, even if there was still another person sitting in the same table, I found that a bit annoying but not the end of the world either. All in all, good experience, I'd recommend it.

Unfortunately not a recommended hotel. Although the location in Nantes is central and good, the price and performance did not go together at all. My room was next to the elevator shaft, the bed was directly against a wall behind the elevators, so that loud, sometimes squeaking noises and vibrations penetrated the room with every elevator ride. When I asked the front desk to change to another room, I got the answer that they were fully booked and that I should come back another day. This is absolutely unacceptable and unbelievable for a hotel of this category. In my opinion, the rooms next to the elevator shaft are not acceptable for guests without proper insulation. The staff feigned surprise at the fact that there was elevator noise, but by looking at other reviews the problem is more than known. They just seem to ignore it for the long term. I should have read it earlier. In general, the rooms are very badly soundproofed, you can also hear various other noises. There is no rest here. Furthermore, the bathroom is very narrow and impractical. The fridge didn't work. All in all very disappointing. Unfortunately, the breakfast offer also proves the low status of breakfast in France. First of all, the breakfast room is way too small and cramped for the size of the hotel, very uncomfortable. The range of food is more than patchy for a breakfast of this price. The buffet is chaotic, unloving and sometimes repulsive. It doesn't look very hygienic. The staff is awkward. The only bright spot was the high quality tea selection. Conclusion: Don't come here - one of the worst value for money hotels I've seen.

Very nice hotel, the lobby is wonderful. Staff is attentive and helpful, rooms are spacious, confortable and quiet (double doors for Privilege and Suite), the gym is pretty small but is enough not to lose track of your habits at home. Extremely well located! Been there 3 times already. Prices are a bit high and the rooms have a simple design that does not make anything special about it?

Situated in the Nantes city centre, most of the famous places are easily commutable and also the tram station ' commerce' is very nearby. Room service is very good, it is clean and tidy. Food is also good.

Hotel from the 00s that’s in dire need of an upgrade. But aside from the design and interior quality, we got a room that had a view of… the lobby? Zero privacy unless you closed the blinds, and no possibility to open the window and get fresh air. Somehow the ironing room had a better view? Probably the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The service and location were good.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days on a business trip and I feel that the staff really made the difference in the stay. They were chirpy, helpful and always available. I had a double room and it came with all the usual amenities. Bonus for having a nespresso machine and everything in the minibar was free of charge (gasp!), which included 2 bottles of water, 2 juices and a Coke. Amazing. Spacious room with smaller-than-usual toilet and bathroom, but really no complaints there. I'd love to stay here again!

Not happy at all, not recommended to stay. First of all, no iron in the room. No laundry service offered. I was charged 147 Eur for a room with worst WiFi I’ve ever have. If you travel for business, forget about stable connectivity and comfortable environment. Only location is a plus, but not for this price.

Spacious rooms, very nice shower…and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms and linen were fresh. Our suite had robes and slippers too.

Centrally located, quiet and cool rooms. There is ample space in the rooms and bathroom facilities are excellent. The toilet and shower are in separate rooms which gives morw privacy and flexibility. This was our second visit at this hotel and it remains very impressive! Absolutely zero flaws for its category

The most uncomfortable bed I've ever experienced. My shower drained extremely slow so I had to take quick showers. No shower cap. No lotion. No small wash cloth. The bedding had a crusty stain. The balcony had bird poop all over it. I guess they can't control that but they can clean it...The breakfast is good and the front desk is nice. All in all this should not be rated a 4 star hotel.

Location is brilliant. Although the staff are efficient they are definitely not too friendly. The bedroom was a little dirty, stains on the carpet. Why do hotels insist on putting carpets down, they're never clean, hard floors are easier to keep clean. Didn't bother with the breakfast, far too expensive. Your in a city centre location, plenty of places to eat out and at greatly reduced prices, same as the bar. The bars in town have definitely got a much better atmosphere.

Mercure Nantes Grand Hotel is a great place to stay during your visit in Nantes. It is 15 seconds walk to the main tram stop and it’s in the heart of Nantes. I appreciated the atmosphere inside the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. I had such a nice sleep and every morning it was hard to get out of the bed. I liked the breakfast a lot, especially fresh madelines with Nutella and eggs with bacon. We also had an aperitif in the evening at the bar of the hotel and the cheese and ham selection was really of quality. I can definitely say that this hotel is perfect for a vacation or for a business trip. Can’t wait to be back.

Very below standard for a Mercure hotel. My room did not have hot water and the technicians don't work on week ends, which is unacceptable in a 4 star hotel., the hotel was full therefore they only changed my room the next day, to a smaller room. Toilets in the lobby are locked, so if you want to go to the toilet during breakfast you better go up to your room. Only ONE elevator working. For such a huge hotel, get ready to queue and then get cramped in a tiny elevator. Breakfast was OK and staff was relatively nice... But would NOT recommend this hotel.

Great location, good breakfast, reasonable rooms but service is not upto the mark … after covid attention to detail has worsened

Booked as a very last minute time away from home with my partner, this hotel proved to be a lovely surprise. A peaceful setting, in a quiet location. Upon entering the staff are so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Our room was larger than expected and so well presented. I would highly recommend this little gem; luxurious and relaxing.

There is sadly NOTHING grand about the Mercure Grand Hôtel Nantes Centre. The majority of rooms is tiny and in desperate need of updating. Some areas may be newly painted (the fumes are complimentary), but that doesn’t cover the need for renovations. Bathroom and WC doors open onto each other and the hallway door… images are of an upgraded privilege room, at a hefty surcharge, but without functioning AC/heat. Stay somewhere else. The only positive is the location, maybe the Nuxe toiletries, although no lotion is offered.

It's the 1st of November and they've turned the air con off in the rooms with no option to turn on. My room has the sun shining on the glass windows all day so it's essentially a greenhouse with no way to get the temperature down and no offer of a solution from reception. The smart tv function doesn't work and no HDMI cables available. The wifi also does not work so having to use my phone hotspot. No glasses or mugs, just paper cups.

I stay in hotel 1 night (16/11/2023) and I forget my watch in room 203, on the night table. It has only sentimental value. I wrote an email, I called 4 times: I didn't get an answer. Housekeeping was not consulted. I am very disappointed and saddened. The behavior of the staff was not helpful.
