This was, by far, the most disgusting place we’ve ever had the misfortune of staying at. They turned over a disheveled room to us last Feb 4, 2023. The bunkbed sheets were crumpled and haphazardly tossed on the bed, the pillows were clearly soiled (one smelled like armpit, the other like sweat.) When confronted, the manager on duty ended up saying two very alarming things: “This is not a five-star hotel,” and “the cleaners are a third-party service, there is nothing we can do.” Which made me think, well if the “third party cleaners” have access to our room, they can easily do worse (like, say, tamper with our stuff) and this hotel will not take responsibility for it. One of the staffers even attempted to accuse us of tampering with the room ourselves. “Did you do this?” she asked, when I showed her my photos of the disheveled room. My eight-year-old was crying in the lobby because she has never experienced such appalling service during our trips. We weren’t expecting the Ritz and we normally travel budget (in fact, we had a decent stay in this very hostel back in 2018) but the state the room was turned over to us, was like a giant middle finger. I told the manager, “This is so hateful.” Their response? “It’s nothing personal.” I understand the price and the other guests’ photos and the hotel’s own photos might make this an attractive option but why take a gamble on your safety, cleanliness, and peace of mind? Check the overall reviews and you’ll see it’s a risk to book here. Stay elsewhere. Oh, and the Uber driver who got us when we opted to cut our reservation short (no refunds, by the way) said, unprompted: “This hotel? NO GOOD.” Guess he has some experience rescuing guests from this place.

While the rooms were adequate if cramped, and the location was fairly good, my interactions with staff were so terrible that I can't give this hostile more than one star. I am blind and use a service dog. I was harassed by no less than seven staff in my four day stay. EU and German law protects service dog users from exclusion and harassment. After 2 days of being told that my dog was not allowed to go into the cafeteria for breakfast, I gave my information speech for the third time to the front desk staff and asked them to please speak with the woman running the cafeteria regarding her inappropriate demand. Despite receiving this information, every single day she stood glaring at my dog lay quietly under the table on a down-stay More than 20 ft from the fly ridden buffet counter. On our final day, we were going to the desk to check out when a man, perhaps a manager, blocked my way and again told me that I was not allowed to have a dog in the breakfast area. For the seventh time I explained in simple language that my dog was a specially trained blindenhund, service dog, guide dog, because I was legally blind. I offered to show him my identification card and documents from the United States and EU stating that she was a service dog. He was not interested and simply kept repeating that I couldn't take a dog into that room. I admit that I had lost my patience at this point. I told him that we were checking out immediately so it wouldn't be an issue. He wouldn't let it drop and very loudly in front of a gathered crowd continued berating me. Finally I said, "I need to return my card. Please get out of my way." He stepped aside, we dropped off our key cards. We will never go to an a&o hostel again. The rooms were cramped the food was mediocre and very much swarmed by flies. And obviously, the staff were terrible.

we've just arrived today. the rooms and the staff are really great but we were very shocked to find out how the guest kitchen looks like. The air was unbreathable, the whole room was dirty, there was almost no cutlery at all, the fridge looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages and there was a beer bottle on the counter inside of which a really fair amount of mold was growing. I simply do not understand how the guest kitchen can be so dirty. We were looking forward to finally be able to cook a full meal on our interrail, but we probably won't be visiting the guest kitchen again.

This location was wonderful for anyone coming directly from the train. I would recommend a private room here if you can afford it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, unfortunately this hostel was unsafe. I was physically attacked in my room. The police were called and I was given a new room. However, the woman who attacked me was not removed from the property and was allowed to remain in the room alone. Additionally, the police mentioned to me that they are called to this hostel on a weekly basis.

I'll firstly start with the positive things. The hostel is easy to find and near any transportation. The reception would gladly help you. Here comes the negative part : The room is small, it is hard to live in it in summer because of the heat -> there is no AC. The walls are not soundproof, you can hear anything so it's hard to sleep. However for me the most difficult part was that I didn't really feel safe in the room. (My stay was more than a month) The first time the incident happened was two weeks before my departure, I put the "don't disturb " sign however one of their cleaner got in without knocking I was really scared at that moment, I even told him to not get in but did get in anyway. Despite my reclaim to the hostel by email they did not answer me, all I could do was tell the reception. A similar incident happened the night of my departure, it was 3:50 am, it was two men this time that open the door with the key, I don't know how they got it, if it was a mistake from the hostel or was it the staff, I'm still in shock. With this comment, I just wanted to let the hostel know what had happened and I hope it would change in the future for the other guests. Thank you

Had to share a bed with a stranger! Not safe for solo travellers! Got there at 11:20pm after a long bus ride, There was a huge line at checkin that took an hour. My card was charged for 57 euro when I was told it was 32. Then when I got to my dorm it was well after midnight, The only available bed for me was the other half of a king bed with a stranger. It was late and they were already asleep so I didn't even know if I was sharing with a boy or a girl. I just had to creep in. I wasn't going to wait another hour to complain and I was already told I had the last bed. My worst experience in my 3 years of backpacking!

I stayed at a single room at the hotel for one night and had breakfast in the morning. The rooms are small and poorly equipped. The bed was 1.20 meters wide, uncomfortable and had a plastic mattress. Bath and shower were alright. As far as I could see the room was clean. Everything in all the room reminded rather of a youth hostel than an actual hotel. The breakfast was terrible. There was only two kinds of defrosted buns and some toppings, three types of cereals and a small salad bar offering salad, tomatoes and cucumbers. Salt and pepper were missing. Hard-boiled eggs were available but no scrambled or fried eggs. The filter-coffee tasted terrible and so did the "fruit juices" that obviously didn't contain a lot of fruit and were made with aromatics. None of the things offered tasted fresh. The breakfast room was dark and unappealing and the tables weren't cleaned regularly. Service was slow and personal I had to deal with was neither fluent in German nor English. The check-in took 30 minutes because service was overchallenged with the number of guests and their requests. Altogether I would heavily advise against staying at this hotel. I payed 77,27€ for the room and 9,30€ for the breakfast. If you are willing to pay 15-20€ more, you can find hotels in Frankfurt that are substantially better in regard to accommodation, breakfast and overall service.

Rooms are good, clean and tidy. I stayed in a hostel dorm for 6 days. It was cleaned daily. Beds are good, bathroom is good, shower is good. But little cleanliness has to be maintained outside of the hotel as there are too many cigarette buds lying around. Gives a bad vibe as soon as you visit the hotel. No free individual locker facility. Expensive breakfast. Good location, just a single stop away from Frankfurt main railway station. Hit like👍🏻 if you liked the review and follow for more😊

Rooms: Decent cleanliness, not super clean but ok for the price. Floor was crumby, bathroom in the room smelled a little. In the 4-person rooms, there is one bunk bed and 2 beds that are directly pushed together, strange set-up in my opinion Lobby: No AC and crowded, bathroom in the lobby stinks Location: a little bit sketchy but the train station right outside is convenient I stayed here in a room with no AC during 36-37° weather and was miserable the whole time

The room itself was dirty beyond belief, crumbs, hair, stains on the bed to only mention a few. No bedsheets were provided and we had to sleep on towels as sheets. Also room cleaners tried throwing us out of the rooms early and also knocked once then came in without us giving them a sign to do come in. Though the receptionists downstairs were pretty kind and tried helping us best she could. Bit for 50 € a night i can't say I'd expect more but i was defiently disappointed.

Horrible experience. The pillows are super uncomfortable, the bending machine was broken and some man entered our room without knocking our door at 8 am, when checkout was at 10 pm. We were asleep and it was a horrible experience and we felt super insecure, anxious and vulnerable about it. How on earth would you enter a all womans room without even asking if someone is inside? I could've been naked and this man would see me. We went immediately to the reception to do a formal complain about this situation. The manager wasn't there and the person in charge was constantly saying "what do you want me to do". You should be responsible of this and assure your guests are comfortable or at least a half refund. It was a nightmare. The location also wasn't really great. We felt insecure most of the time.

We stayed in a 8 dorm room and we surely ain't the snouty type as we are sleeping in hostels but dear Jesus that room was depressing. Bed sheets aren't included, when we asked to book some for the night the receptionist said "I don't have any, maybe later" which was confusing. Overall not particularly clean and you won't get any lockers included. It is good for a few nights if you really want to go cheap.

Was here once as a tourist in late summer. Reservation AOI-27-3064868. My room was in the old part of the building with wooden windows. This may be critical in winter. In late summer the room was so hot we needed an air conditioning (we did not have one). The 4-bed room had enough space. There were both bunk beds and normal ones. The room also had private toilet and a separate shower, so 2 people could use them at the same time. The closets looked completely insecure to me. They look like cages with big holes and you would need a giant padlock to close them. The reception looked overloaded in any time of the day. Even with 2 receptionists, clients had to wait 10-15 minutes to be served. The guest kitchen was too small and poorly equipped. It became inconvenient when more than 2 people were in the guest kitchen. The breakfast and "packed lunch" were normal for their price.

The building is too old. the cleaning condition wasn't good enough. if you are staying in summer. better be ready for the heat. no a/c,, when you open the window, you will not sleep because of the traffic / siren sounds over whole night.

Hostel with great communication to the city center, fair price and convinient rooms. It has a parking that costs 15 euros per day, which is perfect for those doing a road trip. I recommend to do the check in with 24 h prior to avoid queues at 3pm.

There were no towels and/or napkins in the room, had to go downstairs and ask. There was no shampoo/bodywash in the bathroom. Both bathroom and toilet didn't feel very cleaned.. even the sheets smelled a bit. It was extremely noisy outside the whole night for Monday. It wasn't just construction or vehicle noise, it was people. I know its not duty of hostel staff but just to let people know about the neighbourhood of the place.

The rooms are decent, although the dormitories can be a bit stuffy. However, considering the affordable price, one shouldn't expect more. I found the single room preferable. It's worth noting that there can be quite a bit of noise due to the nearby trains and traffic. On the upside, the service at the reception is excellent. They went the extra mile to assist me in changing my room from a dorm to a single room at no additional cost, as I had an early departure. Their assistance was highly commendable.

Our room here was awful. The hostel is safe and the staff seems friendly but the rooms are set up horribly. I am traveling with a group of 3 and one of us got put in a queen bed with a complete stranger that was taking up half of our bed. There were 3 other open beds in our room & the least they could of done is put 2 of us together in the queen bed since we’re traveling together. Beds were rock hard, worst out of any hostel i’ve stayed in. Location is also not very exiting and the lobby is full of large groups of kids for some reason. Weird demographic of guests here. Would not recommend

Although this hostel is close to the tram stop, it was not in the safest area. There were homeless people around the outside and I believe one of them was sleeping on the couch in the lobby. The front desk workers were so rude I’ve never experienced rudeness like that in any of the other 20-30 hostels I’ve stayed in. We checked in around 5 pm needing to rest after a day of traveling and there were dirty sheets still on our bed. The bathroom in the room was pretty clean but the hallways smell of mold. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a hostel in Frankfurt.

orderliness is an issue. stayed for 2 nights; linen, blankets and sheets were not changed upon my arrival. housekeeping does not bother to clean room on a daily basis. too crowded in the lobby and noise from nearby room can be heard. won't be returning again if i am in frankfurt again. the only reason i put a star is the location, very near to metro train station

I didn't like it. Not like other ِA&O everywhere else, i visited many of them actually The room is not cleaned everyday, no toilet papers were added unless i request, the trash never cleaned during my stay. Maybe this is not the case with each room, but this is what happened to me. I asked for a baby bed and they didn't have any (not because they were used but they told me we sent all beds to hygiene and they don't have any [this is exactly what the receptionist told me]). Please don't offer a family room unless you have baby beds. In addition to this I paid online for my reservation and they asked me to pay again for taxes (i don't know what taxes are not included in the online payment, but i'll investigate that).

Ok I'll tell you my story I booked A & O Frankfurt and I had 3 bags with I kept 2 of them in there luggage room inside the locker because they said it's safe later I come to check up on the bag the luggage room was kept open even the reception no one was answering and one bald guy came and gave me keys i told him hey it's open he didn't mind I check for my bags and one of them is gone Someone took it I contacted the Polizei and they have registered a case with the authorities and later i asked reception they said " i am not the manger i don't know anything let her come on Monday" ( swear to god). With this I can say there hostel in Frankfurt is poorly maintained and don't trust their luggage rooms or lockers.

Wonderful staff. The clean new sheets although usually available for 3 euros were provided for free. The waiting area was comfortable. The beds are nice and comfy. The toilet and baths were well equipped and clean. Although it majorly depends on the kind of roommates you have.

The 4-bed room is quite big, enough space to store luggage. It was clean enough, a bit dusty at some areas. The Beds were comfortable and the appearence of the room looked modern. For the low price its absolutely acceptable. Service is polite and helpful, but in the late evening i was waiting over 15 minutes at the reception

Loved having the option to prepay for early check-in, late check-out, breakfast and linen. However, when we arrived, none of the 3 staff members behind the counter showed an interest in us. They were busy unpacking a box of new staff shirts. Took 10mins to get their attention. Then minimal information was given. We had just done a 36 hour journey with two young kids and were exhausted. Entering the room, some floorboards and skirting were severely damaged, risk of catching splinters if not wearing shoes. Black mould along the silicon in the shower. Pillow cases were missing. I asked for them at the reception and was told we arrived very early (around 12.30pm) and were lucky to get into our rooms. I pointed out that I had paid for early check-in (from 11am). I received an apology and was told house keeping would get onto it straight away. Pillow cases arrived at 4pm... At breakfast, we were told we needed to get tokens from the reception. Again, we had to wait for a staff member to show an interest in us, then were told the till had to be set up first. Eventually, they asked us to pay for breakfast. I told them, I had prepaid everything and received an apology for not handing out the tokens upon check-in. Breakfast selection was great for a hostel of this standard. Might need to get in early to get the full selection, though. A very attentive staff member ensured topping up was done efficiently. Probably the most positive aspect of our stay. Location was great, only one stop from main station and right at the station. Could hardly hear the trains although our window was facing the platform. For the price we paid, it was OK if lack of cleanliness doesn't bother you but I'd rather pay a little more and hopefully receive better service elsewhere.

I had an excellent stay at A&O Frankfurt Galluswarte! The location is perfect, easily accessible and close to major attractions. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The staff are outstanding, always ready to help and provide great recommendations. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great choice for travelers.

The hostel is well located. The staff is friendly. The room service is good as well. It would be highly appreciated if they put the air fresheners in the bathrooms. The kitchen on the contrary is extremely disappointing. Its stinking to the core and being a vegeterian and hygiene freak, I could stand there for more than a minute to use the fridge. It really needs management's attention.

Cheap and decently clean. Location is close to centre but not near the central station, which is good. You have to wait a lot on the reception for check-in and on the bar, because the employees are busy with check-in.

generally was good I booked a single room, the first night I was in a floor that was very noisy, the people in the room in front of me were so noisy and load.. next day I asked for another room and it was quiet.. single rooms are good size and clean.. people at the reception were helpful and nice.. Location is really good, next to a train/tram station and its only about 20minutes walking to the center of the city.

Please stop send mail before and after every stay. Otherwise good. But you should have a better equipped kitchen. And a proper dish brush instead of a simple sponge. Frying pans was poor.

It's a nice reliable place except for a couple things, one of which made me quite uncomfortable. The kitchen was filthy, the fridge looked infected. I was there for 2 days and at least 3 times people who did not rent a room either tried to come in to sleep or did come in to sleep, half of my food was eaten while I was away one day. Were I a woman I'd have felt especially uncomfortable. I was situated in the B building which you have to walk across the parking lot to get to, which I suspect is what made my place a target for those looking to sleep anywhere but the street. If these things were fixed it would be a 5 out of 5 place easily.

Even though I had pre-booked and paid for the room, I was unexpectedly asked to cough up an additional 10 euros during check-in, supposedly for taxes according to the employee. I was just too exhausted from the road to muster the energy to argue about it at that moment. The room wasn't receiving regular cleaning, and even on the days when they seemed to have tidied up, the job wasn't up to par. To top it off, the shower was on the fritz – I ended up having to sit down for my showers instead of the usual standing routine. Quite the adventure, I must say!

We stayed at this hotel for three nights with our kids and we enjoyed the good breakfast, free parking at the street and the good room with a good shower. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring the city. However, we were disappointed by the noise level and the state of the guests kitchen. There was a large group of young people who were very loud and disruptive, especially at night. The kitchen was dirty and poorly equipped, and we could not cook our own meals as we had planned.

Beds, ok. Room, mostly clean. Shower, horrible pressure and wildly changing temperature at times. Also very bad ventilation. Toilet, easily clogged. Breakfast, nice and affordable. Common area, filled with children weirdly. Pool/billiards table is falling apart and needs replaced. Also, the reception told me something blatantly wrong about breakfast, which I just found weird.

  • 3/5 Rhys B. 9 months ago on Google
Rooms are set up well enough and have ample room for locker storage etc. The area itself is ok, you are surround by a busy road with loud construction on the other end however. The shared kitchen is horrible however, for someone like me who has dietary needs I find myself cooking all my meals. I dont expect much from a shared kitchen but the whole hostel has only 1 tiny kitchen which clearly isnt enough for how many people it hosts, as such the fridge is over flowing and if you go to make dinner you can be waiting for a very long time to cook your meal. Overall the experience was fine, I never set high expectations with hostels but they provided a safe place which is accessible by train and is mostly set up quite well.

Really loud: 1) building teardown directly in front starting at 8am 2) all doors slam really loud automatically when closing 3) train noise almost 24 hours Room gets really hot fast when windows closed even at 13 degrees Celsius outside. When you open the windows you get eaten by bugs and the noise is louder

I stayed one night in a six-bed hostel room with my friends. In terms of cleanliness, I would rate it a 5 out of 10; it could have been cleaner. However, the price was very reasonable. The room lacked air conditioning, and the windows couldn't fully open, so it was a bit warm. The hotel lobby was a great place for gathering. The check-out process was quick; we just had to drop the keys into a box. For check-in, we did it online, and it was quite efficient. The hotel's location is relatively good, with good access to public transportation. If you're on a tight budget, I recommend this hotel, but if cleanliness and service are higher priorities for you, there are better options available.

Close to train station and easy to get to via public transport. Rooms were large but some beds are very very close together in the dorms. Felt fairly clean, came with a towel too which was nice. The first room I was assigned had someone sleeping in my bed but after going to the front desk they moved me to a fairly empty room. Really good value and all you can eat breakfast

STAY AWAY from this hotel. I booked a room with a private bathroom and paid before arriving at the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, they gave me a room. When I went to the room, I saw that the room had been used by someone else before and the toilet was unusable (clogged). I told the hotel staff, the toilet was clogged. They couldn't open the toilet. I asked for another room, but they couldn't give me another room because the hotel was full. As a result, I was not given a room with the features I paid for. It was late at night. (It was about 02:00 AM ). I had to go to another hotel. I had to pay much more money to the other hotel. I tried to get my money back, but they did NOT pay also. The location of the hotel is not bad, but the rooms are old, and not clean. You find much better hotels if you search more... I definitely do NOT recommend this hotel. STAY AWAY!

Enjoyable stay! Check-in can take a bit. Wish they’d email me the form before I arrived so we all wouldn’t be waiting in line for everyone to fill out little paper form. We selected a private room with en-suite. Happy with the space and very clean! Would stay again.

The hostel was overall decent. Rooms were fine, beds were comfy, staff were nice. There's a big room in the basement that's perfect for working/eating. There were two main issues: first of all, there's only a single public toilet stall available in the entire building, on the ground floor. All other toilets are inside the rooms, which was a problem. Second of all, many guests seem to be long-term residents; my roommate was a 44-year old man who said he had been living in the hostel for 8 months. His stuff was everywhere (he even had his own furniture) and he smoked nonstop in our bathroom, causing the whole room to stink of cigarettes.

I had a fantastic experience at A&O Hostel Frankfurt! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The hostel's vibrant atmosphere and budget-friendly prices make it an excellent choice for travelers. I would definitely stay here again!

IF YOU’RE A WOMAN, DON’T STAY IN THIS HOSTEL IF YOU’RE A MAN, ALSO CONSIDER NOT STAYING First of all, the area where the hostel is located is dark and desert - apart from some random guys that are always there. Being two girls, we didn’t feel safe at all. Inside we didn’t feel safe as well, since the first scene we saw was a very drunk girl being dragged by a random guy into his room. We managed to help her, but this made us pay attention to the number of guys that were there. Other than that, the rooms layouts doesn’t make any sense (4 people bedroom). They offer a bunk bed and two single beds that are really close to each other. The room was small, so we didn’t feel comfortable sharing with people we didn’t know. The staff was also really rude - apart from the front desk guys, who helped us during our stay, and the guy responsible for tidying up the rooms. Breakfast was also not good: the guy there was rude, and when we got into the breakfast space at 7am (as we needed to catch a train by 8am) nothing was ready. It took at least 15-20 minutes for the guy to display the food, and he was rude to us (no surprise). As if all of this wasn’t enough, one of the elevators didn’t work and made it difficult to access different floors. Also, the shower drain in our room was clogged and the towel offered by the hostel was the size of a floor mat. So don’t spend your money staying in a&o hostel :)

Stayed for 2 nights in November, 2023. Single room/private bathroom. Very clean. Quiet overnight in my area. Terrible/old pillow but the staff kindly gave me a new one. I have no concerns with previous reviews - the wifi worked well. Good location - walked to the main train station before 8am with no safety concerns. Right on a tram line but I didn’t use it. Grocery store nearby. Helpful staff. For the price point of ~$65 CAD per night, I wasn’t expecting fancy and my needs were met

Not so good... Max 2-3 nights, I think.. First I gave 3 stars but I changed... Pros Beds are good enough for this. Main street, trains... Noisy but I had no troubles: Location is good in terms of the train station. And this is the good and bad news. Cons No lockers in the dorm room. In comparison to the other a&o in the town - it's not good. Staff is rude. I mean : R u d e Thoughts I was working in social sphere, street mission - so I deeply appreciate your efforts and support towards the raw sleepers. Meanwhile I do not think that mingled business is a good idea in the hostel sphere. If you give the rough sleepers a place in the foyer I suppose you give them possibility to have a shower..

Room as per price was good. Kitchen was very small and to borrow the utensils you need to give some deposit. Rest everything was good. It is just outside the Galluswarte train station

We had a good experience here. The twin room was clean and the breakfast offering was great. You do get the feeling that they are short-staffed at points as they didn't seem to be able to keep up at breakfast on one morning and sometimes the reception desk is so busy no one is able to serve on the bar. Be aware that the road out front and railway lines are very busy all through the night so take some earplugs if you want to keep your window open!

Location is good in terms of main station. Room could have been cleaner, and they are rather small. We were only two in a four bed room, and I think it would be very difficult to organize if there were four of us. Additionally, we had to kill like 7 mosquitoes because there are no nets and we found the window open when we arrived. The guest kitchen was a mess, the water kettle is used to boil pretty much anything in it.

We booked a 4-sharing room with 2 bunk beds and a bathroom. The room was neat and clean, the bathroom has basic toilet supplies like soaps, toilet paper, and a hand towel. It was budget friendly, and best suited if you just want a place to sleep. The room is smaller than you'd expect as there's only a little walking space. Check-in and check-out are super fast, and the staff were very helpful. Would definitely recommend for night stays. Not really suitable for staying during the day. S-bahn, U-bahn, tram, and bus station are all very close by, and this place is only one stop away from Hauptbahnhof.

Really affordable place, can't really complain about the stay for the price. I got to meet some really cool people and had fun playing pool and sharing travel stories with dorm mates. Only critic I have would be that the staff could have been a little more friendly - they weren't rude by any means, but I felt like they wanted to get rid of me (and everyone), off their desk, ASAP. It may have been because they had a lot of people to deal with.

a very popular hostel with young travelers. very friendly and polite staff. Pleasant impressions are guaranteed to you from getting to know your neighbors. a place worth spending time to feel the friendliness and culture of frankfurt city.

A very very nice place. Clean, up to the mark, no delays, easy check in and check out. I checked in late at night and checked out very early in the morning and there were two ladies each at both times. They were very very helpful, polite and friendly. They are multilingual and speak English very well. The location is great too. No noise or disturbance.

A basic student hostel. The family (quad) room was not easy to get to (in a separate building), but was clean and adequate. Check-in could be smoother. There are some convenient eating spots nearby.

We traveled with a large group for a couple of days. Despite some of us arriving at different times in the middle of the night, check-in was flawless, staff was always helpful around the clock. The rooms look nice and clean (only downside: we couldn't open the windows at all). Breakfast was pretty good too. All in all, the best you can get for this price.

Initially, I was not sure what to expect, but the A&O staff is very nice, friendly and speaks perfectly English. Check in experience was smooth. Room have friendly layout that provides some privacy + contains lockable box under each bed. Valuable items can be also stored at the reception. Additionally, I really like the working desks with power outlet and desks lamps in the lobby. One full day, I stayed there remotely working and thanks to the desk size, it was very productive day. I can also recommend hot chocolate from reception.

Our room was great and was very clean. The location of this A&O is convenient to the tram and restaurants, but also seemed to be quite a party spot, so depending on what you are looking for, this could be good or could be too noisy for some. Just note, if you stay in a room on the front side of building, you hear the traffic and the tram, and if you stay on the back side, you hear people partying in the parking lot all night.

A nice cozy place to stay in Frantfurt. It is very convenient to go to Frankfurt International Airport from here. Moreover, it is cheap and check out is super easy you just have to drop the key card in a box at the reception.

  • 3/5 Em B. 1 year ago on Google
Check-in was easy and staff were friendly. There's a tram stop right outside so you can get to the city and main station. Also a grocery store nearby, which is handy. Bed was comfortable with clean sheets. This room [615] was on the smaller side (but okay for a short stay) and faced the road which was a bit noisy (which is not unexpected on a busy road). Overall, a pleasant stay.

The man working the day shift needs to improve his customer service skills a lot. Was very rude and had a bad attitude. He didn't let me check in early and obliged me to wait until 3 PM. No towels available any time I asked. Room cleaning was done very poorly and this was another indication that I didn't have to wait until 3 PM to check in. I could have easily checked in at 1 PM instead. Not satisfied.

It’s a nice and modern Hostel. However there’s no “hostel atmosphere” it’s rather a hotel. The kitchen was closed because of COVID (in other hostels it’s been open). The reception was very slow, only one person was there who was talking excessively to every customer.

  • 1/5 Irtaza K. 2 years ago on Google
The middle-aged woman at the front desk was really rude for no apparent reason. Someone with that kind of an attitude should not be at the reception. The place was alright though. Edit to your response: Thank you for your assumption but that isn't the case. Of course, it was your duty to let me know about the booking terms and conditions and I was fine with it. If you don't allow more people, that's fine and isn't an issue. I am sure many other people also pointed out the unfriendly and unprofessional tone of your staff at the front desk. Some retrospection and maybe some 'training' is needed, I guess. Moreover, I didn't know that the same people respond to the reviews who are at the reception. I'd be surprised if these reviews can incur any change at all (if that is the case). Hopefully, you'll take some positive action so people can have a good experience staying there. :)

Please you are running a big hostel and I was really disappointed I had my 3 friends with me registered at your hostel because I stayed here at first but now when we went to the guest kitchen, ugggggghhh it was too much smelly and not even a single oven is available there. Please remove it from the facilities and if you wanna have it and facilitate the guests please have basic utilities and cleaning in there. Thanks

  • 3/5 Irene D. 10 months ago on Google
Some rooms are better than others. If you can request a room away from the road, it is worth it. Otherwise, you are kept awake by the train and traffic all night long. Some rooms have convenient charging stations at each bed, others do not. Some are more well-kept and more frequently cleaned.

  • 4/5 Abrar A. 1 year ago on Google
Budget friendly hostel. Booked a bed in a 4 people dormitory. Room, bed, toilet were clean, though the big pillar almost took a big part of the room, so it’s a bit less space. Major drawback: only two sockets, and one is almost to the ceiling which is of no use. Staffs are really friendly.

  • 1/5 MCN 1 year ago on Google
To all prospective guests, It is with great disappointment that I inform you of my recent experience at this hostel. Regrettably, I was subjected to discriminatory treatment during my stay based solely on the color of my skin. As a paying customer, I believe that every guest should receive equal and respectful treatment, regardless of their background. One member of the staff went so far as to state, “You can’t use the race card… I am African, too.” I find this comment to be highly inappropriate and discriminatory, as it was based solely on my skin color and without any knowledge of my background or nationality. What happened? During my stay, I was approached by a staff , who inquire whether or not I was staying at the hostel. He then proceeded to ask for my room number and when I questioned his motives, he lied, and claimed it was for a survey. When I asked why he did not question the lady next to me, he could not provide a valid justification. I then expressed my intention to provide feedback upon check-out. As promised, here it is and I have taken the liberty of recording the conversation for record-keeping purposes! You're welcome. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 39 different countries and lived in 7 of them. Furthermore, I have spent over three years working in the hospitality industry. Therefore, I am well-versed in the protocol regarding feedback in the industry. It was unnecessary to interrupt my remote work merely to inquire about my room number. The inappropriate behavior of the staff, including the evening manager's comment to his subordinates to “Call me if something happens again,” indicating an expectation of issues arising, has left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. As a result of my experience, I will not be returning to this hostel, and I do not recommend it to any other travelers. I urge the management to take the necessary steps to address this matter and ensure that such discriminatory behavior is not repeated in the future. With tremendous dissatisfaction, MCN

The rooms where decent, but you see better amenities distribution in other hostels. For example, in my room all beds where in front of the bathroom door, so every time someone used the WC everyone would be annoyed by the lighting. I've been in other Hostels where the bathroom is in the back so the light doesn't disturb anyone.

First time to stay at a hostel and I was impressed with the level of quality. Smooth check in, clean room, free wifi, attached bathroom and shower room. I booked a bed in a 4 dorm female’s room. Clean bed sheets and towels. All were included in the price. There were tissues and shower gel. Also, there was the clothes dryer in the shower room. Each bed has its own power socket for charging your devices. The location is perfect as it is in front of the tram station. Super happy with my stay and would love to try other branches in other cities.

The blonde receptionist who checked me in at 4 pm last Sunday was soooooo nice 🤩 honestly she could easily work at a 5-star hotel instead of a hostel. I wanna go back to Frankfurt to see her again 😭 The bathroom and the toilet in my dorm room were kind of filthy… but nevertheless I’m going to give five stars because of the receptionist 🤩🤩

Very good location and friendly personal. I stayed in a single room, which was cleaned and well equipped. It was, however, loud inside the room due to the street noise. This was a shame since I booked a single room precissely for not being disturbed while sleeping. Moreover, the Wifi didn't work at all during my stay. For a short stay is ok

Very central location. S bahn and tram easily connects you to any location. Reception is very helpful and kind. The rooms was very clean. Actually the first day they forget to clean the room and gave it to me and it was very clean but instantly they changed and we stayed in three different rooms more all of them was very clean

Very friendly staff at the reception, especially the lady. The main room at the entrance to the hotel looks very dirty. A table for working on a laptop is located near the main entrance. When I was there, the door was always open and it was constantly blowing. It was impossible to sit normally because of the cold. I was also surprised to ask extra fees for bed linen and towels. The room was clean but the gutter on the bed makes it a small space. Breakfast is expensive there and the coffee I had from the machine was very little in the cup. I recommend a single room where you will sleep much better. Max. I recommend the hostel for 2 nights.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Conveniently located right next to a metro station (called S-Bahn in German), one stop away from Frankfurt main station. Unfortunately, the community kitchen was closed (leading to one star less). Otherwise, definitely recommendable.

Lovely staff team at the check in. Cleaning staff rude and doesent speak english. Rooms not cleaned often, floors messy and covered with dirt. Comfy bed. Location sleepwise bad, trains go all the time and are loud as heck. Location citywise very good, short distances to everything you really need. Dont recommend going here, if you are willing to spend little more. Good for cheap bad sleep.

We had a cancelled fly in transit in Frankfurt and to avoid about 3 hours queuing line for arranged hotels by Lufthansa, we choosed this hotel on our own. It’s simple but clean, quiet. It s located 20 min from Frankfurt airport ( Taxi one way cost 38 euros) room 59 euros. The receptionist from Pakistan was very professional and super nice and helpful,, he enhance the place as a five star service.

I have stayed with A&O hostels numerous times due to its price, and this is another excellent service from A&O! I came to the hostel really late at night (around 1:30 AM), and I still get the nice treatment from the lady in the receptionist. The Wi-Fi is also quite good, and I manage to pass my boredom from waiting for my flight in the evening. I also brought some cereals to the hotel, and the employees allowed me to take the bowl and the milk for my cereals too!

I slept with my family of 8 in one room. The bathroom stank and there was dust in the storage next to our beds. For the rest the room was good. The floor was clean. The reception area was nice also with a nice kids area. The location is near the city with lots of places to eat. It was really cheap, about a 100 euro for one night for one room for a family of 8. I would recommend this place if you are just looking for a short stay. The breakfast was okay.

  • 4/5 Mehmet . 1 year ago on Google
It is one of the great places where you can stay in frankfurt for an affordable price. The location is really good, right next to the metro station. In addition, the tram passes by it. You can go to the center very easily in 15 minutes. Rooms are generally clean and nice. breakfast is about 8€. I found the breakfast insufficient, other than that everything was good.
