it is so hard to get hold of any Dr affiliated with this hospital. It does not matter if one is dying or just wants some information. this is for old patients, just imagine if one is a new patient. Let me tell you how it works. you call, talk to a switch board person , then they take your number and may be, I mean maybe you get a call from the Dr's office. then you tell them what your issue is. They take the information to give it to a nurse then the nurse may call you, but not that day. or you may even get lost in the process. So far it has not gone further than that . when I hear something from the DR. I will let you know. that is scary if you have heart problem that needs attention but is not emergency at the same time. the whole Mercy system had become corporation and is run like Amazon:) at least in Amazon you get to talk to a responsible person right then and there but not in OK HEART Hospital corporation.

Actually an unbelievable experience. 0 stars if I could. Was sent over with my elderly grandma by an urgent care with her having a suspected case of CHF. The nurses (who themselves were extremely abrasive and not friendly at all but that’s just not important enough to worry about) triaged her and gave her several expensive tests. Then sat her back in the waiting room with me where we waited for 2.5 hours. Not one single person in the waiting room was called in that time. The couple next to us had been waiting with chest pain for EIGHT hours. We decided to give up and leave, where they made us sign an AMA form and stated that we would still be charged for the tests but no one would read them because we hadn’t been seen. Absolutely a scam. So not only did my grandma not get seen, but now she has a bill for tests we never would have gotten if they had been honest that the wait time is hours at a minimum. Will be disputing the charges and would never come here with an emergency. My grandma now refuses to go to any ER because of this astoundingly bad night. Who ever heard of an ER that doesn’t actually take walk in emergencies?! Unreal experience.

I drove my Dad all the way from Shawnee because we were told to go to the ER immediately and he would be admitted for blockage in his leg. They didn't do anything for him and Dr Fitzgerald released him and ordered him one flexiril we were so upset that we drove all the way back to Shawnee and got his doctor on the phone and he told us to go back and they would do an ultrasound. I have leukemia and I was so tired that I was unable to drive him back that same night. I took him back the next day and they immediately did the ultrasound and admitted my dad. They scheduled a bypass surgery for 3 pm today and he was just now told that he won't have surgery until Monday and they made him fast and wait all day long on a doctor that didn't show up for the scheduled surgery. This is completely unacceptable!! Now my Dad has to be in severe pain through the weekend because the doctor didn't show up!!!!I'm extremely upset and disappointed with this hospital. This is strike 2, there better not be a third.

Went in with a rapid heart rate and bleeding from the rectum. Was hooked up to an EKG machine, was given two chest X-rays, and a CT of the chest. I was bleeding A LOT from the rectum, I was kept about 2 hours total and sent HOME without a single test to determine why I was bleeding heavily from the rectum... It seems to me that something serious could have been missed and indeed was. I felt as though it was a problem they either didn't want to deal with or I simply didn't know how to. The Dr. tried consulting with my husband about my condition, instead of me, my husband stated "They didn't cover this when I was in culinary school." Seems they were looking hard for something that wasn't there. Exert caution when attending any hospital and always have someone go with you.

I’m not sure why they are forcing people to still wear mask when other main hospitals in Oklahoma are making it optional. But to each their own. My main concern was the nurse at the front desk staff in the MRI department were very rude when I said I would rather not wear one. Having an attitude and speaking disrespectful to customers isn’t what I expected from this hospital. Whoever is in charge I would probably have a training over basic courtesy in your establishment. Regardless if people agree or not.

Normally we have a really good experience here. My Gran has heart issues and Normally they are ready to get her back before I even finish with registration. The doctors are typically very caring and helpful. Tonight my Gran is very very sick and the ER registration lady Robin was extremely rude as soon as we sat down. My family has never had a bad experience at this facility until tonight. My Gran has two doctors that she sees here on a regular basis and everyone is normally very helpful and friendly until we encountered Robin with the red hair. She sounded like she was being decent to the people that were sitting there before us but was immediately rude to us for no reason. I work in the medical field also and I find that there is never a reason to be so rude to a patient or their family especially in the time of an emergency. She refused to process the paperwork so we could get her back and checked out by a physician. As a result we brought her to St. Anthony downtown OKC. In a matter which could be life threatening Robin handled the situation very poorly. I hope something is done about this so no other family's have to experience what we did. Especially when we are already in a time of extreme worry and stress for our very sick loved one.

I had an MRI and x-rays done at the same appt. They were very nice and very professional. I'm disabled and the techs were right there helping me from the dressing room to the MRI machine. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

Our mother was Care Flighted to Oklahoma Heart Hospital South. We have never experienced so much care and concern from a health care facility. Everyone we encountered, from the Doctors and nurses and every person involved in her care went above and beyond in our mother's care. Our RN Dany kept us informed of everything that was happening and answered every question we had. She is a special person. That being said everyone offered their best. We are forever grateful and thankful.

Like all the other one stars, the staff and nurses were great. Dr Fitzgerald didn’t do anything but said my CT scan showed no signs of a stroke that he could see and take a baby aspirin daily. My blood pressure was 240/127 and he sent me home like that. I told my family NEVER TAKE ME THERE IN THE FUTURE!!

I’ve spent a rough total of 35 days in this hospital over the past 6 years. I give this place a solid 5 stars for each time I’ve been hospitalized. Drs Chohan, Reiker, Jewell, Nizzir, these guys are absolutely amazing. They not only saved my life but were instrumental in giving me back a high quality of life. The nurses and staff are the most wonderful in the field. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who suffers from heart issues. My only concern is that their association with Mercy doesn’t lower the quality of care and personal.

Had a frightening experience. The ER doctor Dr Gupton released my 18 year old niece when she shouldn't have. By the time we made it to the front door she collapsed and we had to be-admitted. The male nurse was rude also. The medical team just actef like they were inconvenienced by us being there

This is absolutely the best place to receive care. All of the Nurses and Techs are so attentive and caring. They come when you ask them for help and make sure that your needs are met and that you're comfortable. I truly can't say enough or thank them enough for taking such great care of me.. From the bottom of my heart Thank You Guy's so much.

I purposely drove a long way to Oklahoma Heart emergency room so that I could receive the best care possible. I was in a great deal of pain due to a ruptured disc in my shoulder.. The doctor took his time with a thorough exam and the staff attended to me width the utmost in professionalism and compassion. My case was taken very seriously, although it was not heart related. I left wirh a solution and am tons better now. Thank you, Oklahoma Heart Hospital!

I went to OKH South last week for an angiogram, and their entire staff was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Every single nurse or clinician I came in contact with was beyond kind and compassionate, making my experience 10x better. They were very thorough and efficient, and they left no questions unanswered!! Not to mention their state of the art hybrid operating room- it was super cool to be able to see my own arteries! I’m from Connecticut, but making the trip for Dr. Warren was one of the best decisions I ever made❀️

Great experience at OHH North for twelve years. We moved and changed doctors to the south location about one year ago. Appointments and procedures are now always late. Regularly wait one to two hours. Last visit took so long my blood sugar bottomed out and I had to leave and never saw the doctor. I’ve always told everyone how great OHH was but now I’m ready to look for a new doctor and facility.

I never thought I’d look forward to seeing a cardiologist, but Dr. Virk is the best. He is thorough, he listens and wants to understand the issue while providing realistic solutions. I appreciate how much he genuinely cares about his patients and knows the latest research. Thank you Dr. Virk for everything

My husband had open heart surgery with Dr. Bodenheimer, who was amazing. Today we visited for another heart procedure. The staff, Veronica was the RN, and Dr. Morris the Cardiologist, were phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about the efficiency, the care, the support and overall experience. When folks are dealing with health issues, they are under so much stress, but to have professionals from the reception to the OR, the after care is simply awesome. I appreciate you all. You are all truly amazing. Brenda and Burl

I'm not sure why this listing doesn't have 5 stars. I've been to this hospital for quite a few different things and every single experience has been exceptional. Every one. The people here are the friendliest I've had. Ever. I feel that I'm in very competent hands. Thank you.

My wife recieved a call back from Dr. Zacharius office. The lady on the phone asked if my wife was there by name. My wife said who is this? The lady once again asked is this so and so by name? My wife asked whats this regarding? The lady once again asked is this so and so by name? I got on the phone and had to ask her directly, are you with a doctors office? She then stated who she was with the Oklahoma heart hospital. I said why didnt you just say that when she asked you, we get alot of scammer calls and she will just hang up on you. I put my wife back on the phone and the lady proceeded to argue more instead of telling my wife the appointment info. I got on the phone and asked to speak to the supervisor and she ignored me. I then hung up the phone thinking we could deal with someone else when we call back. We called back 8 times over a month and left messages, no one called us back. Finally early in the morning on a monday we actually talked to someone and they said they cant leave voicemail messages if the voice mail says the number instead of your name. I said you cant state that your with the heart hospital? Anyways everthing seemed to be moving forward and they said we would get a call back. Well They ended up deffering us saying we cussed them over the phone. We escalted and explained the issue to human resources but they were no help. It was a rude and unprofessional experience.

I have never been treated more special than I was when I was in the hospital there, 2nd floor. The two nurses that were caring for me were extremely professional, intelligent, very kind and attentive. Dr. Chung is a very intelligent, caring and thorough Cardioligist. He saved my husband and my life.I can't express how much I appreciate the fine care I received. The team was remarkable. The office staff in McAlester are excellent and very helpful. I COULD NOT BE MORE SATISFIED WITH MY EXCELLENT CARE !!!!!

Can't speak for the whole building but the X-Ray department has their stuff together. I got referred there to have about 10 or 12 different pictures taken. I signed in at 1221, was immediately checked in, waited about 5 min before getting called back, and was walking out at 1239. The four employees I interacted with were all very nice, seemed very happy, and just made me feel welcome. Can't wait to have X-Rays again!!!! :)

Have been waiting for 3 hours. Have only had the patients vital stats taken. Won't allow the patient, who is in great distress any food or water. Other patients who arrived after us have gone in, but not our loved one.

The lady who greeted me was sassy and came off as very rude. I was trying to check in but was at the wrong location. She took it personally and responded with annoyance. For people who are there for health scares, this is especially inappropriate. She needs a different job, maybe not working with people. Everything else about the place was fine.

Billing department is horrible. They either lose track or don't keep up with EOB's. They routinely come back 6 months later with something they claim wasn't paid. Then they want you to sort out their mistakes.

Everyone was very nice and professional. The doctor didn't appear rushed and she made sure I understood everything and answered all my questions. From the minute I walked in every person I came in contact with made me feel like they cared. They had me in and out quickly. This is the only Emergency Room I will be visiting. Thank you to the staff for going the extra mile!

Don’t let you parents come here alone! They wait till their on the table to tell them they will be awake while the heart monitor is implanted, and will dismiss you mom when she says she afraid, devalue her by laying a paper blanket on her face.. because we ALL know how comforting that would be 😳.. THEN when that medical trauma is done the heart monitor rep comes in to tell her the machine that makes the implant work and records the data might be in in 3 months.. cause I told on back order… 😱 Seriously that’s not full disclosure it’s fraud, as well as malpractice by causing your patient to endure a traumatic experience, deny her request to be SEDATED and when you see her in shock you don’t care and the nurse that checks on her and you tell her LOOK my mom in shock and she says nothing, just turns and walks out…. Only send your parents here if you don’t care about their well-being.

. The Oklahoma heart hospitals are the greatest place in the world. Great doctors great staff clean. Sometimes people get mad and scramble so they take it out on the staff. The doctors and probably every place around they have a complaint. There's Otherway , There is a labor board there is a medical board there is a health department board. Linda Hansen .
