Beautiful and intimate restaurant. If you go and you're thinking about the dry aged steak, stop thinking and order it! We usually share a meal but ended up getting the steak and their fresh ravioli which happened to be vegetarian but the menu was beautiful enough I thought it would hold up on its own (it did) but knowing I'd be stealing some of the strak. Splitting these two made a perfect meal and still were unable to finish the steak. The only critique my partner had was for the mushroom risotto. Good but not excellent so maybe go for the potatoes. The shaved Brussel sprouts were delicious! If possible I highly recommend reservations so that you can have a more personal experience with your company. We did not have reservations so we were seated at the end of a long table near the entry/hostess but still had a lovely experience.

Fantastic locally owned dinner spot. On the spendy side but I loved it! Wait staff was super friendly. Update try the seafood pasta and salmon appetizer. Incredible! The New York Steak scallops, rissoto and brussel sprouts were incredible. Try the baked oysters special charcuterie & wine. Fantastic!

We had an memorable anniversary dinner at Gardner’s in downtown Olympia. The food was FANTASTIC, the service was perfect, and the setting was intimate and enjoyable (we had a raised corner table for two). The chicken piccata could almost be cut without a knife and their was a perfect amount of white wine the sauce. The vegetarian ravioli was plump, firm, but not hard in texture, and it took everything in us not to literally lick the bowls clean. We had never been and chose the restaurant as it was rated very highly on Google, but it when we pulled into the gravel parking lot and saw a small, older looking building I was suspect. But from the moment we stepped inside the atmosphere, service and food were: WOW. Highly recommend. Go here. We walked along the waterfront park afterward for a while before heading home. Great evening, thank you to the staff for a wonderful dining experience.

Booked a reservation here for my girl friend’s birthday. This place DOES NOT look fancy from the outside. Not sure why they keep it like that. But it is very nice inside. The hostess and server was amazing. We had the spicy honey shrimp, Chicken Piccata, and Top Sirloin with Demi glaze for food. We also had drinks. Everything was so delicious. We ended the night with a Peanut butter Pie dessert which was also yum.

The Gardener’s parking lot was full when we arrived but there was no nearby parking. When we walked into the restaurant there were two tables/5 people being served at 5 p.m. Who had filled their lot? Why was it full? No reasonable explanation. My host for that evening had her car towed ( and had to pay $450.00 to get her car) from a very poorly signed lot next door. No ownership signage, but cars being towed left and right. Terrible business practices for Gardener’s as well as Bud Bay the owners of the empty lot that we parked in.

My husband and I had such a lovely experience! This was our first time visiting Gardeners celebrating our anniversary and we were quite impressed. The host and our server, Alex were absolutely fantastic and overly friendly throughout the entire time. The food was delicious and their dessert options were very tasty. We highly recommend their signature old fashioned, smoked salmon dip and blondie! Overall we both had a wonderful evening, thank you Alex for making our evening special!

This was such an amazing place to have dinner. The waitress was so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating and made our time really nice. We never felt rushed even though we accidentally stayed past closing. If you want to have a nice dinner with high quality food and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend.

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary and it was the perfect celebration! I had the lamb chops and my husband had the seafood fettuccine - both were absolutely amazing! The lamb was the best preparation I've ever had. The drinks were fun and the salted caramel brownie was amazing too. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We have wanted to try Gardners for awhile and finally made it in. They have incredible customer service! Quite friendly and accommodating, even with a busy little toddler they were quite patient. Overall the dishes were quite good. The seafood linguini was most excellent!

Gardner's is small and intimate. The staff is exactly what you want and our cocktails were on point. Our entrees, lamb chops & seafood fettuccine were excellent. I had the apple crisp for dessert and highly recommended it. We will be back.

A quiet, quaint little experience. The ambience and hospitality are worth the trip alone. The steak was cooked well. They have a fun drink and dessert menu. The oysters were ABOVE average for the PNW in my opinion.

Delicious food and cocktails. Might be nice to dress up, but definitely not required. Excellent service. Took about 2 hours but we ordered appetizers and dessert and weren't in a rush. Ambiance is a little 70s boat vibe but dressed up. I wouldn't bring kids, but there were some there so they wouldn't be unwelcome. I had the prawns, risotto, and oyster special with half baked half raw. All were excellent. My partner got the Bolognese, which I really liked, it was wine forward and well balanced with seasoning.

Husband and I came here on a lovely Friday night and we were seated right away. The ambiance was beautiful and very romantic. The food was superb! The husband got the ribeye and I got the sirloin both were incredible delicious. Our waitress was fantastic and very friendly even took our photo :) We definitely will come back here for a date night!

Superb service and a delicious meal. For appetizers we ordered some oysters from Hood Canal. I enjoyed a bowl of Cioppino and my friend enjoyed a serving of scallops. Both were done to perfection. Dessert was a cherry mousse and an amaretto cheesecake which did not disappoint. The table service was excellent. Gardener’s Resturant is one of my favorite restaurants in Olympia, never disappointed.

Went here to celebrate with my partner. The cocktails, desserts, and service were great. My entree was just okay. The scallops were very salty and the Brussels sprouts cold and underseasoned. Better meals to be had for this special-occasion price.

Treated myself to a special dinner while traveling and this was exactly what I needed. I ordered the Seasonal Side Salad... spring greens, pickled beets, goat cheese and fennel with Lemon Dill dressing... YUM! Then I had the Fried Razor Clams (limited special) and French Onion Soup. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Then I took a Lemon Bar home and it was enough to stretch my sweet treat over the next 3 days. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Pretty meh for an upscale restaurant. We went on Jun 2. Oysters were super fresh. My wife liked her steak. I typically oversalt food and even I thought my scallops were a little salty. I don't think it was the scallops themselves, but rather the fried onions put on top that seeped into the scallops but either way I don't think most people would like it. I had seen a couple reviews complaining about the salty scallops but when I mentioned it to our waitress she made a big fuss about how no one had ever said that before and she had been working all these years etc. It was kinda strange. The other thing I think they need to improve on is their white wine selection. Very minimal options by the glass and all quite cheap, especially if you're trying to do a wine from the PNW. I was hoping for at least one Oregon non-oaky chardonnay, like a RoseRock or Eyrie or Domaine Serene, but the only thing they had was a $15 bottle from Washington. Felt a little bit like one of those restaurants your parents or grandparents say "I've been coming here for 25 years and it's always fantastic" and you just don't get it.

Very friendly staff and delicious food! It has a really nice quiet and elegant atmosphere. We tried a couple different pasta dishes and the fresh oysters. Super fresh and super flavorful!

Absolutely one of the very best restaurants we have gone to. Ravioli special with crab, prawns and scallops was indeed "special". Owner and wait staff are fabulous and professional. Loved this place.

We went to dinner here last night (first time for me), and I will say that from the outside, I was not expecting much, but don't let the cover fool you! Once you step inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Someone was already being helped when we walked in, but as soon as they were swept away to be seated, someone else approached to greet us. This person told us there were a couple tables being cleared and we would be seated shortly. Then a different person told us a couple of minutes later that they were setting our table. And only minutes later we were seated. We got a preview of our service when the person seating us pointed out every stair step we had to take (which there are a few, and the lighting is dim, so this was a big help). Our server was one of the best I've had in many years. She remembered everything we told her (from only one water, to my companion definitely wanted dessert). One thing I noticed was that all the servers had this calm, efficient, team approach that made everything appear to be choreographed to run seamlessly. Now for the food! I ordered the seafood pasta and my companion the cioppino, and shared the calamari appetizer. Everything came quickly (but not too quick, if you know what I mean), was the appropriate temperature, and pleasing to the eye. My seafood pasta was loaded with seafood and had plenty of creamy sauce. My friend got a bowl of cioppino that I jokingly referred to as the size of Barbie's swimming pool! Both were delicious. There was plenty leftover to take home and we will be eating those tonight! There were so many scrumptious looking desserts but I was full, so my friend ordered the peanut butter pie and the server brought two forks. This was not only an excellent dinner but an exceptional service experience and I will be bringing friends and family here soon! Thank you to everyone who made it such a delight!

This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at in Washington state and I have eaten at many. Not a single dish I had was not 5 stars, the carrot cake was so good I forgot to take a picture, it was literally the best carrot cake I have ever eaten in my life, I am convinced even someone who doesn't like carrot cake would love this one. At first I was skeptical about the Dijon sauce on the lamb chops but it complemented them better than any other chop sauce I have had, they were tender, perfectly cooked to medium rare and delicious. I love local Washington oysters and these baked didn't distract from their freshness at all. The Burrata appetizer with prosciutto and balsamic Glaze was incredible, burrata is good most anywhere you go but the flavors of Gardners version were far elevated. We are already planning when to come back! The wait staff were all incredible, our hostess delivered the specials immediately as we were seated and did an excellent job. My fiance brought me here to celebrate my recent promotion and we had the pleasure of one of the owners Sarah to stop by our table and she was so welcoming pleasant and generally interested in our feedback. This place takes the spot of my favorite restaurant in the state. You MUST come here!!! 5 🌟
