The facility is decent. Plenty of cardio equipment. My sons had to wait to use the gym because of a pick up game going on, but I’m glad he got to use it when the game was over. The pool is best for small children and is not a deep pool. It is a zero entry pool again great for the little ones. The three lap lanes are separate from the small pool; this is helpful. I could really have used a warmer, hotter shower. It was barely warm enough and that’s not enjoyable. Otherwise a good facility.

This has been my elderly friends experience thus far: (posts from his Facebook page that have been neglected). Side note: he has been a member for years and hasn't had problems until recently. He is on disability and has never felt treated worse, definitely from management. -11/21: Southwest YMCA I have never been more happy and disappointed with a gym in my entire life. I went to this YMCA for 2 year and had no issues. As a community elder, I greatly enjoyed the aqua exercise classes and the pickled ball. One day, no warning, I was kicked out of my membership for "allegations" that no employee has ever explained to me. I recently went back to tell my side of the story and was not heard by the recent manager....who had no idea what happened in the first place. I have never worked with a company who has treated elders this horribly and I haven't been able to give my side of the story. I would appreciate it if corporate would reach out to me about my awful experience with this gym and their neglectful employees. -11/23: Southwest YMCA Update: I received a call at 7pm thinking my questions would be answered, but I was wrong. The only thing that I was informed of was that they cannot tell me any information. So they said I did something, but can't tell me what. All I want is to be heard and not have only one side believed. When I went there in person, I asked the manager on duty if they kick people out just for giving someone a dirty look and she said no....well according to the code of conduct online it states that intimidating gestures and body language are not allowed....so a dirty look can be considered as such. How about intimidation from employees? They can't even be respectful about a sensitive topic and they don't even know their own policies. Do better YMCA of Greater Omaha. Does anyone know of a gym in Omaha that doesn't treat elders this poorly and where I can feel safe to tell my side of a story? There has still been no update/contact from corporate. Are all YMCA locations run this poorly? Recommendations of gyms that's treat elderly individuals are much appreciated.

Wonderful facility, friendly staff. Easy to get in, work out, get out. The pool temperature over the last several months has been incredible.

People are very nice and friendly. The whole facility caters to all ages. Some areas needs updating but all in all, good wellness facility for the family.

I love this YMCA! Staff is always walking around cleaning equipment, sweeping, decorating. It’s a great place to workout! Everyone is very nice as well! You walk in with a “hello!!” And leave with a “have a good day!”

This Y has nice equipment, and doesn't get quite as busy as the Armbrust Y. Nice staff, too. Currently much better pool hours than Armbust does.

Jenny was amazing and really helped me make a great decision on becoming a member and signing my kiddos up for soccer, swimming, and jujitsu!

I like the group exercises schedule - there are many classes available for all fitness levels. The equipment has been updated and there are many machines available. The location is very convenient too!

I absolutely am in love with southwest branch YMCA! We always feel so welcome every time my family and I walk through the door! We are treated like family. We have gotten through so many hard times and worked out together to get us through it. Forever thank you from our family to yours.

Our experience with this YMCA has been nothing short of a disaster. We signed our 3 almost 4 year old up for spring soccer. They use an app to “stay in touch” called PlayerSpace and it is hard to navigate and they make changes to the schedule that don’t even show up on the app. I’ve tried massaging the director Bailie on the app and have never heard back. She emails out to us but her emails say do not reply so there is no way to get in touch with anyone! I’ve even tried calling the Y and the young man who answered the phone had no idea who she was or how to answer my questions. Our coach has 2 daughters on our team one is 4 and one is 5. Not sure how they think grouping a 5 year old with 3 year olds is fair. She hogs the ball and is bigger than the other kids so really no one gets a turn to play except the coaches kid. Well last week our coach decided not to even show up to the game! He never told anyone they wouldn’t be there and didn’t answer his phone or the app. I think he quit. I just got emails last night that our game time this weekend has changed and we also have pictures this weekend as well! I just find it crazy they change the schedule 5 days prior to the game. Some of us have more than one child in sports and make arrangements well in advance and I never knew they were even doing pictures until yesterday’s email. Also there is an older man who sits at the games and watches and comes up and yells at kids. Not sure what his job title is but he is employed by the YMCA to oversee the games but he is very rude and scares the kids by yelling at them like they should know the rules! They are toddler/pre-school age! Our overall experience has been a disorganized mess. Please do your research and look into other sports programs around town!

Anyone choosing to frequent a Y has already made some decisions. (1) I want a facility that is sufficient for my exercise needs (2) I am willing to forgive some lack of polish (3) I value access over experience. This location has proven to be superior in cleanliness (including locker rooms which isn’t always the case), access hours, friendliness of staff, and providing timely notifications when features are offline (pool needs cleaned etc).

I have been on a new track to have healthier life habits and I enjoy coming to Body Pump every week to work out with Eve. Eve is always in a positive mood and always makes every single person feel welcomed, included, and encouraged that they will rock the class. Thanks for making working out so enjoyable!

Free weights include two power racks, Olympic platform, benches, dumbbells, typical cable tower setup with lat/row stations, etc. Also has machines (Cybex), cardio, basketball courts, pool. Nice staff, and equipment seemed well maintained from my visit.

😠 2nd edit: different day same genesis. Always at least 1 bandaid laying by the pool, 2 today. It's nice in the beginning until you go everyday and start to realize how terrible it is. 😠 I have been a member at this location for 2 months now. The facility is nice and new, and there is lots of equipment. It’s a great deal for the price. 😠 This place keeps trying to bully me into paying more money. I was told I was grandfathered in to the price I am paying right now by many other staff members.
