Home Depot is a good place to go to get ideas about home renovations and gardening needs. It has some really great deals especially on seasonal items when they are clearing out stock. Such as BBQ, the nursey and discontinued products and special sales. It is necessary to go to the store often to find these deals as they are not advertised. The tool and van rentals work good too, but those places don't normally have special promotional discounts. If you like my reviews, videos or photos don't wait until the season has gone and give them a thumbs up

One of the worst customer experiences of my life. We ordered paint samples for pick up, and paid online. When we got the paint samples, they were unmixed - just white paint. We called this store and spoke to 4 different people, all of whom struggled to understand this error. We asked for them to have those samples prepared for us to pick up, and they said they couldn't do so - that we had to ORDER AND PAY FOR IT AGAIN. Dealing with the online customer support was also horrific, which took almost an hour to tell me that they could not refund our purchase. We will never order anything from Home Depot again. (I have no interest in "continuing this conversation" on twitter. Do not trust their customer support) EDIT: While I explicitly said I did not want to continue the conversation, they posted their form response anyways. And it so happens, I had messaged them on Facebook - without response! A deeply, deeply incompetent company in all regards to customer service. Wish I could give 0 Stars

I came here to purchase materials and appliances. The staff were very helpful and I had a blast talking with them. Unlike other retailer stores, the staff here are older and have life/contractor experiences. They know their stuff and definitely filled in the gap of knowledge I didn't have and got me what I needed. I recommend this location (plenty of parking, a big garden section, and had good selections on inventory). Plus, if you come at the right time, they got amazing deals and great payment options for those expensive appliances and projects you need done.

Since moving to Ottawa I've spent well over $20,000 at Home Depot on tools and equipment. We repainted every room in our house - minimum 2 coats each, plus primer. We installed shelves in the garage, puttied over dozens of wall holes, patched some large holes, refinished old wood floors, replaced out-dated dryer vent/hosing, replaced all the outlet covers, replaced down spouts, eave covers, shower heads. some siding, and even pulled/replaced two toilets. With the help of youtube videos, home depot videos, and guidance of the in-store staff, we've saved thousands of dollars on services/technicians/repairs, and learned how to to most home repairs and everyday tasks ourselves.

If you are into renovations, or someone who loves working on their home then this heavenly place will give you the feeling of 'Kid in a candy store'. - It's sheer size will give you the first great and positive impression of the store. - The staff is welcoming, and extremely helpful to find you whatever you need, even if you know nothing about renovations. I was there to get paint, and the lady was quite helpful. - Aisles are organised in such a convenient way that locating something becomes easier. - Seasonal decorations are to be seen, and collected from this store. They always do it the best.

Was able to get beautiful mums for our fall garden. I went in the evening and was asked twice if they could help me with something, very friendly store! Perfect for a quick run in at night if you are missing paper towels, cleaning products or whatever they have lots of stuff.

Had a very frustrating experience with a countertop I ordered. Delays, wrong measurements, you name it. Dealt with multiple employees at different levels who failed to acknowledge my concerns or offer adequate compensation... until I made contact with the store manager, Cory. After 76 days of a complete nightmare, Cory was able to accomplish in a 15 minute phone call what no else could. He is amazing at his job! Home Depot, I know you monitor these reviews, and I'm telling you to promote this man! He did everything right and completely restored my faith in customer service. Thank you, Cory!

Customer service here is horrible. I've had MULTIPLE bad experiences at this one particular location. I will now drive a half hour out of my way each direction just to avoid this location. The management in charge of this store is ruining the experience for the customers. I am aware of plenty of people, mostly contractors, who will go out of their way to avoid this location. Including paying more for material at other businesses located within a close proximity just to not have the bad experience at this location.

I went to the rental shop today to rent a piece of equipment and although everything went very well and the equipment worked great, the customer service was absolutely awful. When we first rented the equipment the male employee there was decently nice, but all of the females there were very nice!! However when we returned the equipment we saw the same male employee outside and had asked him a question about which door to use and his response was filled with disgusting attitude and was extremely sarcastic and rude. When we went inside to drop off the equipment he made a very rude face with a lot of attitude once again and was extremely dry. We confronted him about his attitude and he acted like he did nothing wrong, saying he was “confused.” I definitely won’t be coming back here to rent another piece of equipment as this employee made us feel very unwelcome and very uncomfortable when we did absolutely nothing wrong.

The store is nice, somewhat awkward to get to. Do not order with store pickup! At the service desk, after waiting my turn, I was told that the big sign that says "Online Order pickup" is in the wrong place, the service desk. The actual pickup desk sits on the floor, halfway down the store. There was no one around when I went there. It did have a sign saying to go to the service desk if no one was around...

Let's agree on one thing. Employees on this specific store are very helpful and kind. I was advised to visit the Cyrville rd branch due to their excellent service, and I was very satisfied. A big shoutout to Mayme, who's an amazing employee and person. This branch is highly recommended!

Usually has what I need in stock and what they don’t I have delivered online within a week. Staff is helpful and friendly and customer service was great helping me with my orders. The price matching policy is a great bonus.

Good price and quality , also the good that if you have little shortage of any item you bought you can get it or if you have access you can return it back . I will definitely recommend Home Depot :)

I had an excellent experience with Matt when picking up my online order at the store. Despite a bit of a delay in locating the package, Matt handled the situation with utmost professionalism. Matt's dedication was particularly evident when, faced with a temporary challenge in locating my order, he proactively took my contact information. This small but thoughtful gesture made a significant difference, as Matt promptly called me as soon as he located my package. His transparency in explaining the reasons behind the delay not only demonstrated his accountability but also showcased a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service. Throughout the entire process, Matt's positive attitude and customer-centric approach were truly commendable. Despite the initial hiccup, his efforts to keep me informed and address the situation efficiently left a lasting positive impression. I appreciate Matt's professionalism, and it is evident that he goes above and beyond to ensure a positive customer experience. Kudos to Matt for his outstanding service and dedication to customer satisfaction.

The employees are truly what make the difference between each individual Hardware establishment. Needless to say that this location has some of the most knowledgeable staff I have ever seen at a Home Depot location, or any other big Hardware competitors! You, the staff, can make or break a contractors or their staff by their mannerisms. I can tell you from experience I ALWAYS walk out of this Home Depot feeling like a million bucks! Thanks guys and gals <3

I love the store! It is great but some of their staff have poor qualities. You asked him where something is they tell you what oil instead of just bringing you to show you where the item is

Their has been a significant drop in customer service quality throughout every store in ottawa that I've been at and it's Probably due to covid staffing challenges and covid social stressors etc .. needles to say it's frustrating to see it be so prevalent everywhere .. that being said perseverance does help resolve and protect from problems and errors and miscommunications etc. Had me an appreciated positive problem resolution with Alex (assist. Managr.) Well hopefully as due to software issues throughout stores .. store merging with online orders can be difficult to resolve for everyone. But ridgid grinder and usb adapter is payed and on order .. hopefully arriving at the store sooner than later .. Alex spent more than an hour looking into resolving things .. he's quite the dedicated trouper and listened to my points of concerns and complaints and issues.. hopefully he'll be recognized as a shining example to every other employe there, as when a customer comes in and asks for something the customer shouldn't be dismissed easily nor quickly nor judgementally nor ignored nor hung up on nor pass onto some other unprofessional team member who is also as unknowledgeable or worse than previous etc. Or left waiting and wanting ..etc. I've read many a reviews and i hope somehow Customer Service gets improved quickly and significantly. We are all humans and all have life challenges .. and employes should always be doing their best and not unload their frustrations onto customers via passive agression or tiredness or absentmindedness or incompetence or severe immaturity or lack of being able to speak one of two official languages.. or all of the above at the same time ..as well us costumers should always be nice to all workers as well .. I've seen some pretty nasty people unloading on cashiers etc for the simplest of stupidities .. anyhow I'm going to keep giving home depot five stars .. for good choice of products, effort to resolve issues, decent return policy, decent customer service, etc .. But two starts for cleanliness, tidyness, precision of product placement, computer issues,, insufficient new recruit training, etc Three stars for product pricing .. as i really dislike placement marketing, pricing errors, pricing details conflicts, inflation and i feel canadian prices should be reduced significantly to drive up affordability and sales and revenues and quality of life for people and force a reduction of ceo revenues etc back down to comparable incomes of the general population so as to avoid elitist mentality pricing and policies and the social economic riffs currently affecting millions. Housing and quality of life should be affordable and stores like home Depot can be social leaders all the while trailblazing profitable revenues through way more modest profit margins .. because the current typical corporate Penneys type lip service contributions to non profit orgs just simply are not enough in these times of social economic crisis .. also home depot corporate should be a trailblazer in providing every single product at or below costs to those in need when they are approached by such poverty stricken folks such as those on long term OW , ODSP, homeless individuals, etc. I've personally advocated for this across the city for decades even when i was a fully working and contributing member of society. And now being on ODSP what with my own daily challenges i just don't have it in me to voice so often this social improvement .. but it just crossed my mind that this comment section might just be the place to share and advocate for it and to seek public support to help show that these times are the perfect storm for positive changes in corporate mindsets and portfolio characteristics to adapt and sail and sales (lol) through up coming market challenges .. come on people wake up ..

Terrible customer service. Huge line, only one cash open. And 2 people working the self checkout(there was 3 open self checkouts, everywhere else is 1 person for 6-12 self checkouts.) One of the self checkout laddies the blond one was very rude, yelling at us for where the self checkout line starts with a angry tone, (there is no sign or anything saying where the “line starts” and no one else waiting). Also their credit card machines barely work, and one employee was trying to help and the blonde one barges in and rips my credit card out of the machine aggressively. I felt like leaving at that point but It’s the only store that sells what I wanted.

My experience with Home Depot has been very stressful and costly. As everything is back ordered, it took 3 weeks to receive the deck boards I ordered (which is not the issue). Once they were delivered, I had 56 wrong boards and a lot of the other boards were heavily damaged. Once the store came to pick up the damaged and wrong boards, the staff couldn't tell me how much time it would take for the new boards to come in. I have been going in store, calling and emailing but not one clear answer. I am having a really hard getting ta response. It has now been 4 weeks since the wrong boards have been picked up and still no answer on when the new boards are going to be delivered. I was going to do my full renos with home depot but I will definitely not be going there anymore for any home renovations. I do not recommend there services.

I now work here so I i might be slightly biased, but the staff have been amazing, making me feel welcome. On the shopping side of things, they are very helpful to get things for me that I cannot reach as I'm in a wheelchair. Quick friendly service that makes me feel welcome. Even when I am not working

The employees are what makes this place great. Many retired tradesmen work here, and provide invaluable advice. It is very much appreciated!

My elderly mom was shopping and many staff members continued to ask her if she needed help. When we checked out the 2 self check people were extremely helpful and also the greeter was very welcoming. She even helped me test out a patio rocker. Great service

2023 Update: Please gut, renovate and expand your washrooms and include more stalls!! We all spend a lot of money here and you even have the toilets and plumbing on hand so get off your wallet for heavens sake! I saw some nice faucets here this morning. Some of them were full price here but on sale in their Orleans location. I bought 2 beautiful faucets! I paid $70 for 4 hooks this morning. They are nice hooks though..
