Possibly the nicest Days Inn property I've stayed at. Room was clean, well maintained and quiet. Service at check-in was friendly and professional. Restaurant doesn't appear to exist right now, but there are plenty of local options. Parking lot is open and clean, and security was a visible presence. Will stay here again.

Room looked clean enough. Was looking forward to staying in the jacuzzi suite. Went to turn on the television and half the buttons on the remote did not work. After coming back from an outing, all of a sudden my keycards wouldn’t work to let me in my room. Decided to try and have a nice relaxing bath in the jacuzzi tub but as soon as I turned on the jets they sprayed out chunks of calcified something or other and that turned me off of a bath altogether. Woke up early the next morning for the continental breakfast and was handed a brown paper bag with a muffin, a juice box and a fruit cup. Dietary restrictions weren’t inquired about. All in all, wouldn’t stay here again. At least the rooms looked clean and there was a comfortable bed.

For the money, I thought this was great! The rooms have a mix of older and newer updates, but are quite clean. The bathroom was sparkling, linens and towels fresh, there was a bit of dust in the bedroom corners but nothing gross. There was a super comfortable desk, and the bed was also very comfortable. Staff was pleasant, checking in/out quick and painless. Since it's out in big box suburbia, it was quiet enough I kept a window open all night without being bothered by traffic noise. Breakfast was generous with bread/cereal/granola/waffles/eggs. I took transit to and from Ottawa. It's very well connected via an express bus across the road that takes you right to the city that comes regularly. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice clean and new hotel. Rooms are pretty new and our room was quite big. The pillows on the bed are like bricks…just horrible and there wasn’t an extra blanket in the room. The continental breakfast was absolutely disgusting. It’s a “meh” for me.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say that it fell short of my expectations. Despite my previous experiences with similar hotels, this particular establishment lacked basic amenities such as hand soap, disposable slippers, and bottled water. Sockets and lights weren't working. In addition, the breakfast options were extremely limited, offering only eggs and cereals. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The breakfast did not taste that good. Very limited options in breakfast. Boiled eggs, bread, cereal, waffles, yogurt. Only 1 toaster and 2 waffle makers for about 30-35 people in room to get breakfast was very inconvenient.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were able to book it when it was going for a deal so the price was great. Easy to find with easy parking. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was pretty big and modern with a lovely king size bed. breakfast was very average but the coffee was good. I would highly recommend staying here.

The service of the staff was very nice and friendly, especially for the room service. We requested more towels, and just a few minutes, the room service knocked our door with complete towels we requested. The room was also clean. The ACwas working good and cool. However, the TV set looks quite old, and nothing special for the TV programs. The hotel lobby is small with some sofa for guests. They also have free parking spots, even the parking lot is not big, but enough for guest.

Clean environment, spacious room and friendly staff. The breakfast was rich with various food and well organized for you to help yourself. Definitely will look for the same hotel wherever we are traveling now.

Better priced hotel for the area. It's an older hotel. Rooms aren't updated but they are clean and the beds were comfortable. This was a double Queen room. We were looking for a clean affordable lodging. A place just to sleep and then run around seeing the sites in Ottawa. This place fit the bill. 🙂

Absolutely disgusted. Got there friday night Initially I was charged almost 379 to my credit card when it was supposed to be 150. Noticed because I got a notification on my phone. Then noticed it was under a different person's name. She then said she refunded it and I got no notification or receipt to prove it said she couldn't provide one. Then I was charged the correct amount of 150 with a notification to my phone. Went to the room... little shampoos and conditioner were evidently used had to bring them down and get new ones, room had made beds but was not vacuumed very well, towels were ripped had to get new ones. The receptionist was almost laughing as I complained about it. Neighbours letting their kids run up and down the hall at 12 in the morning with a screaming baby. Next day as I checked out and complained to the main manager he gave me a 10% discount so I got a notification that the 150 was refunded and 139 was charged to my account. Today I get a notification that my card is under a certain limit when it shouldn't be... I just spent 2 hours on the phone with my credit card company saying that no refunds are noted and I have 2 $150.00 purchases, a $139 purchase and a $379 purchase and now I can't use my card to finish back to school shopping. Just tried calling and ironically I cannot speak to a manager because they are not in. My credit card company has stated they see no refunds in the system and I should wait a week to see. I highly do not recommend you stay at this facility.

The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable. The room was equipped with a coffee machine, which was very practical. Everything was clean and functional. I was on the sixth floor and had a good view of the sunset, it was beautiful. The hotel is near a Mcdonalds and a FreshCo which was also convenient. The television was a bit small, and unfortunately, it was impossible to open the windows. I was forced to use the air conditioning.

Very nice and clean. Room was good and clean. Again there was no microwave in the room so I had to use the one in common area. During pandemic it is a bit risky when you have a small baby. Rest everything was good. Staff was friendly and treated well.

We got a comfortable sleep here on firm mattraces for a pretty reassonable price. Unfortunately, this was our vacation spot for a week and it wasn't quite up to snuff for the purpose. To the good, we got friendly service. There was a coin laundry. There is a decent 2 dollar sign restaurant attached to the hotel. Wifi was easy to access and worked for streaming netflix off the tablet. There are USB plug ins. Not so great: No kettle or microwave onsuite. Essential for long stay particularly with a baby. Limitted resources such as extra garbage bags and tissue. Run down elevator system. Pool under construction. To the bad, they charged us $15 per day for our cat. We were told it was a pet cleaning fee. Then after our six day stay with absolutely no footprint from the cat, they refused to refund our pet cleaning fea telling us the cat was a guest. Very unhappy about this. Covid restrictions entailed that we received no housekeeping. We had to vaccume our own room with an old relic from the 70's that had no suction. We had to hall our own garbage. I don't mind doing these things at home as a matter of course, but on vacation I was a bit disappointed to get no room service at all. Covid restrictions also tanked the breakfast. The normal buffet has been at least temporarily replaced by a bag lunch system of dry muffins, yougert cups and cereal bars washed down with juice boxes. I travel and guest pretty well. For a night or two this would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't really meant for our purpose though, and still held up fairly well.

Not many amenities, but that may be a sign of the times. Eg no moisturizers in the bathroom. Loud heater and refrigerator. The staff are excellent, very amenable and charismatic.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at your establishment, and I must express my disappointment with the overall experience. While I understand and support the notion of providing shelter to those in need, my stay was marred by several issues that significantly impacted my comfort and satisfaction. Firstly, the cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. I encountered insects in my initial room, prompting me to request a change. Although the staff promptly accommodated my request, the replacement room came with its own set of challenges. The connected door to the adjacent room allowed me to hear every discussion from next door, severely compromising my privacy and tranquility. Additionally, it was evident that the hotel serves as a temporary home for numerous families, including children. While I empathize with the situation, the constant presence of kids running in the corridors and even sleeping in front of my door created a less-than-ideal atmosphere for a comfortable stay. I appreciate your commitment to providing refuge for those in need, but it's crucial to strike a balance that ensures all guests have a pleasant and peaceful experience. I hope you take these concerns seriously and consider implementing measures to address these issues.

My daughter and her family live in Ottawa and we would always stay here. The staff were wonderful. The new management not so much. The prices have gone up and since management has decided to cut costs, you're getting less for your money. Time to find a better place.

Worst place I've ever stayed in. We payed 240$ per room (rented 2) carpet has a weird odor and we told the receptionist let us check out at 1pm which he agreed then proceeded to call us at 11am to checkout. And the breakfast was pathetic, with boiled eggs and bread and nothing cooked fresh. Save ur money

I have to say, my recent stay was quite disappointing. First, upon arrival, I had to wait at the front desk for over 10 minutes while the staff member was on his phone. Second, the room had an awful smell of cigarettes, making it hard to enjoy my stay. Third, in the middle of my morning shower, the water was shut off for maintenance without any prior notice. Finally, before booking, I was assured there would be an EV charging station on the property, but unfortunately, that was not the case. I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but my experience was terrible, and I hope that the hotel can address these issues to improve their service

  • 2/5 Dan B. 9 months ago on Google
The guy who checked us in was friendly, but the hotel is obviously not up to its former glory. Even the hotel channel on the TV is just static suggesting they had to cut costs hard. We were staying in an RV, so a bed and a shower was nice for one night. Would not have stayed two. The breakfast is toast, waffles (that you have to make Yourself) and cereal. It’s just enough breakfast to say they have breakfast but I just had coffee and then went to MacDonald’s. Now for the part that ruined it for me. They allow pets and put them all in one wing. They put our room in that wing and didn’t tell us about the dogs at all. We were kept up by large dogs barking at each other in the halls and a yappy little chihuahua across the hall that barked all night. If your going to put people without pets in a hall filled with pets. I don’t think it out of line to ask to be warned about it or offered a room not in that wing. If you just need a place to lay your head and need it to be as cheap as possible. This place will suffice. Don’t expect much.

I usually stay here yearly for a night, to and from my vacation destination. Every year was pleasant and the hotel was convenient. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice. However, this year (2023, as I'm editing an old review) I was very disappointed. I book my hotels far in advance and this year was no different. I always stayed at this hotel because #1 it's pet friendly and #2 the breakfast. The first stay went with no hitches. The second stay on the way back home was different. No breakfast. It seems the NEW management wanted to give business to the attached restaurant with meal vouchers for a subpar "snack," because what they offered wasn't considered am meal. INSTEAD of emailing all their guests who had already booked their rooms, they decided to stay silent until the guest went down to the breakfast room in the morning after their night stay. I went to the front desk and the young man there was understanding. They had discontinued the breakfast in between my bookings. I find it very disrespectful for your guests to find out the hard way that you've discontinued breakfast when they have already booked their room at your hotel. For this reason, I will no longer be staying at this hotel, as convenient as it was, the absolute disregard for guests staying there was abhorrent. I will be finding a new hotel to stay at that meets my two reasons I stayed for many years with this hotel. Sorry but you just lost a loyal guest of your hotel with the fact that you NEVER informed your guests BEFORE they arrived for their already booked room.

We are frequent guests at this establishment, Weekly quests and will continue to be. The staff are wonderful. Shirley looks after us well, sherry, Sherri ? Sorry girl not sure how to spell your name. Both these ladies treat us very well, they spoil us as they know Phil and I like a Apple juice shooter in the morning ( little glass of Apple juice), and they make it available for us. Oh did I mention they put up with us lol. If up to us it is our only choice. Thanks , Shirley, Sherry and Rose. Note- Housekeeping is good and when ever there has been a minor issue. Dealt with right away with no nonsense. Thank you my friends. Dennis B.

About 21kms away from the town but it fits in the budget. Very well maintained rooms with two queen beds. Definitely book it again if I needs to.

Room was comfort and clean, nice staff with easy check in and check out, we were so close to our conference in candian tire center around 10 minutes by car, car parking easy and safe. Breakfast not very good but with some not bad varieties. Hard to find some water without coins, lawblow's and McDonald's just cross the road.

Rooms were okay. Clean enough, bathroom was set up so weird so my partner and I couldn't get ready at the same time but there was no other mirror with a plug for me to do my hair. The breakfast sucked, and was so crowded. The person refilling stuff at the breakfast was absolutely rude.

I reserved a hotel room for two nights this week. The internet on the fourth floor was not good, so I used my mobile data instead. When I complained about it, the hotel receptionist told me to contact my internet provider. Moreover, the fire alarms kept ringing and it was difficult for me to take a nap in the afternoon. Because of that, I decided to leave the hotel at 4pm. The receptionist promised to confirm with their manager if they would charge me for another night, but they did end up charging me.

It's not impressive, but you get what you pay for. The front desk upon arrival seemed to be annoyed when the person had to accept our CAA card for our percentage off. We entered our room, and after removing hairs and tidying up the bathtub and filling it, we realized the tv did not work properly and had to be given a new room. Another thing is that the hotel offers laundry. However, it would be nice if they supply either change for your bills to use the facility or either do not charge for the use. We don't usually have a bag of change handy. The same front desk person who rejected helping to change our bill for change had not changed the rude behavior. Another guest had been kind enough to exchange our $5 dollar bill for change to use the hotel laundrette.

Nice hotel I stayed at for a night in Kanata. Convenient location, good brand. The room was very spacious with two queen beds (it was just me). The complimentary breakfast was decent as well. All in all a perfect place to stay when you're passing by.

We stay at this hotel when we are visiting family. I highly recommend this hotel. The health and safety measures they have in place during COVID are very good. They still offer breakfast . You order the night before and can pick it up at the front desk in the morning. It is nothing fancy but very adequate and packed in a lunch bag for you to take outside or back to your room. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The hotel is clean and has been going through some renovations. This hotel is conveniently located and easy access to Kanata and Nepean. We have always enjoyed staying at this hotel and will continue to stay when visiting family.

As an Actor / filmmaker, Comedian and photographer, I stay in many hotels. This one is at the top of my list. The hotel is very modern, clean and rooms are well appointed. For the level of quality and amazing service I would expect to pay more. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. The only downside was booking through hotels.com as I paid the extra few dollars for the king room but got the lesser with 2 Queens. This is no big deal so I rate them perfect for the value. I will be back here.

The entire hotel had a slight damp smell, though not overpowering. Most of the staff was nice, polite and helpful. Cleanliness was good. The breakfast was a disappointment. A brown bag with only sugary items - muffin, juice and yogurt. None of them healthy options. A total of probably 80g of sugar content.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room rate was very reasonably priced and the condition of the room was above expectation! They provided a pack and go lunch which wasn't anything to "write home about" but good enough and was appreciated!

Not a good experience at all. No value for its money and room price they are charging. Reached the hotel at around midnight and the reception lady was not very welcoming. Her shift was about to end and she was not in a pleasant mood. Asked for microwavabale plates and she said NO . The other lady in the night shift was better but still no plates were provided. Rooms were okay . Washrooms were really small. Especially the toilet seat . Not impressed . No arrangement for breakfast. Gave everyone breakfast packages in the morning with some yogurt , juice and muffin in it . Such lame breakfast was the worst part. Had much much better experience in other hotels in Moncton and Quebec of the same class . Probably the worst stay of our trip from Halifax to Toronto . We had only single night stay in Ottawa but this hotel pretty much ruined it . Definitely not a repeat and would suggest to avoid. 1 star

Service, staff and room were great. Breakfast on the other hand was extremely disappointing. We always have a full breakfast in other Days Inn we've stayed in both Ontario and New Brunswick. We are post pandemic, no valid reason to offer paperbag breakfast anymore.

  • 4/5 D W T. 10 months ago on Google
Everything was nice except noise from adjacent rooms and the roadways. The idea of the breakfast starting at 6:30 in the morning is very convenient.. I was happy it was included in the price per night, which was on the pricey side.

  • 1/5 Matthias B. 1 year ago on Google
First impression: smelt cigarettes. Room was gross. There was hair in the bed near the pillow. The bed frame on one of the beds was sticking out. How do I describe this. The pegs that support the bed off the ground were then used to prop the bed up by placing them against the wood box frame. This left maybe 8inches of metal sticking out at foot level so one would have to be careful getting out of bed at night. No vending machine.

The hotel is okay if you are looking for one night stay. It boasts breakfast included facilities, for which I had booked it, but first there is not much spread other than toast cereals and eggs. And when we stayed was boxing day, so maybe the crowd was high, but still the stuff of the counter was very limited and people had to wait in line for things to be placed for breakfast. And the server was just standing on the side, saying - yeah it's over. Not trying to help people out.

  • 4/5 Clarence C. 1 year ago on Google
The stay in general was pleasant. The service was professional, the breakfast was ok and the room was quite comfortable. The only drawback was some of the towels may need to replaced or better bleached.

  • 4/5 P D. 2 years ago on Google
I'm giving this place top starts for a great price and the quality at that price. Most places at the price I paid are horrible. This place is decent for the price I paid. The only critique I would give is that the room did not smell great. It smelled a bit bad. Maybe cause of Covid and less guests but I'm not sure as they were totally booked the day I left. Its a basic Hotel Type Stay and has the basic Needs met. The people were A+ and the place was clean. For the price I paid I would stay again.

  • 3/5 Ryan W. 1 year ago on Google
The three stars I'm giving this is because it is exactly 'ok' for the price. I usually like to book places with included breakfast but I was severely underwhelmed. I just stayed here for two days this past weekend, and breakfast options were waffles, cereal, porridge, apples, toast, yoghurt cup or hard boiled eggs. Would it break the bank to include a meat option? Breakfast sausages? Bacon? Muffins? Also on the second day every hardboiled egg was gone by 9am (breakfast is 8am to 11am). This has not been my experience with the breakfast at other Days Inns the last few months. The staff was extremely pleasant and the room was clean, shower worked. HOWEVER. The pipe under the sink was leaking, and the unit we were in had a completely un-soundproofed locked connecting door to the unit beside it. We could hear everything the couple next door was saying (and doing) from our bed. And likely vice versa. Parking was ample. Like I said, for the price we paid, this was budget, clean, warm and friendly staff. But the breakfast is not going to do it, the room wasn't quiet and I think I'd pay a little more next time to stay somewhere else.

Stayed for 1 night. The shower bar was held in by 1 scew. The tub drain plug was black with mold. There was a used coffee puck in the coffee maker. Heat lamp and exaust fan were not working in the bathroom. My key card was deactivated at 10am check out isn't until 11am. We went down for breakfast and Had to go back down to front desk after to get card reactivated so we could get our things out of the room. For $150 a night i was unimpressed. We will not be staying here again.

We had come to Ottawa as my mother was going for surgery. Unfortunately, we were placed on a floor where there were many hockey youth and parents surrounding us. They were incredibly loud, running up and down the hallways, bouncing what sounded like a ball on the wall adjacent to ours and leaving garbage in the hall. Around 9:30pm, we heard someone giving them a talk about quieting down, but this was very short lived. Again, they began to run around and be extremely loud, waking up my 7year old daughter at about 11pm. My mother and I had still not been able to fall asleep because of how noisy they had been. I called the front desk but nothing was done. I called again about 20-25 minutes later, to which the receptionist said "yes, I know, we can hear them"!! He then suggested that he look for another room for US!!!! I was beyond upset at this point - if anything, move THEM! The rest of us needed sleep! I did hear someone go and have a talk with them, but again, it was short lived. They finally went to bed around 1-1:30am, and we were finally able to get some sleep. Unfortunately we needed to be at the Queensway Carleton Hospital by 6am so we were all up, exhausted, at 5am getting ready. We had originally booked for 2 nights but after our first night's experience, we decided to go sleep elsewhere as we couldn't do another night of terrible sleep. I explained this and everything to the gentleman at the front, to which he shrugged and said "we're still gonna have to charge you for the 2nd night". And that's my experience with this awful hotel.

I arrived at 10:30pm, was not told anything about construction next to the room I was given (514 if you want to avoid it). My friend who stayed in the room as well, arrived at 6am to try and sleep 4 hours, they were not told anything about construction next door. Not at all worth the price. For only an extra $30 stay in a quieter, nicer hotel.
