Used to visit for lunch...then they closed the restaurant. Then I gave them another chance for plant shopping... and then the quality went down and upon further inspection most plants were infested. It really sucks because I like to support local instead of going to Canadian Tire or Ikea.... If you follow them on Facebook you have probably also seen their most recent stance on the lockdown which is what urged me to finally write this review. People's health is more important than money and any chance of me being a returning customer is now out the window considering I wanted to host my wedding here :( I cannot in good conscious support people who think money is more valuable than people's health. Urging Facebook followers to write to their MPs just so lockdown can end and you can keep booking events? Unethical and in poor taste.

I’ve lived in Ottawa/Gatineau for 14 years now and have been to many sites around the area. For the first time I discovered the Aquatopia Water Garden. This is a nice discovery. The plants here are beautiful and the location is pleasant too as is the staff. It’s too bad they don’t use the bar to serve coffee or whatever else. It would be a great little oasis escape. They only use it for receptions and such. 👍☺️

I recently went to a wedding here and it is beautiful but I found there were quite a few issues. There was very little direction from the staff for when guests arrived. We had to figure things out by ourselves. The officiant said the wrong name (I don't know if this officiant was provided by the venue or not so that may not be an issue from the venue). The food was good but for my table, a few of us ordered chicken which came out raw and had to be redone. A 4 course meal turned into just over 3 hours. So incredibly long. The tables were not served together. 2 tables got their food then a speech would start and other tables had to wait. Or a table would be served and it would be a good 5-10 minutes for the servers to get to the next set of tables and so on. Probably why the dinner was so long too. I was just highly disappointed in the venue. I hope this was just a one off and things are better for other weddings.

I believe the staff here are rude, oblivious their surroundings, and tend to treat people like idiots. Plants are full infested and they have a “you better listen or else” policy. Dont waste your time or your gas going to this ugly place. And dont even think of commenting with your discriminatory insults.

For those considering Aquatopia as their wedding venue, it is worth it and it is beautiful. Plus the food is beyond amazing!!! We would give a standing ovation to Chef Steve and Chef Reshad! So many guests have said it was the best wedding they've ever attended and I genuinely believe them. It was hard to know how things would turn out during COVID, but we were given regular updates on how they were managing with restrictions. There were a few bumps along the way, but their wedding planner (Kayde) was great, very reassuring, and helped us coordinate throughout everything. Jen, their florist, made the most stunning hanging ceiling display and was able to make our vision come to life within our budget. Tish, the bar manager, was able to help us figure out how much booze we needed to order for our guest count and made sure there was a bottle of champagne ready for the bridal party (for when we were waiting in the VIP room for all the guests to arrive). Although we did run out of vodka, all the guests were happy and we were able to get a signature mojito added to the menu. Thank you very much to Aquatopia and all the staff who made our day special. Especially the server that came outside in the very hot August weather to stand with appetizers while the wedding party was taking photos. My husband was adamant that he did not want to miss out on the snacks and you made sure he didn't. Thank you, thank you. We really appreciate it all.

We drove out all the way from the Gatineau area, and the ENTIRE place was shut down to the public for an event. This would explain why an employee shot me an awkward look as we were pulling in. Wow!

We had our wedding at Aquatopia and we cannot recommend it enough! The venue itself is so beautiful and it is complemented by an excellent events team. The Aquatopia team all went above and beyond to help deliver on our vision. We had a traditional Indian wedding and really appreciated Madison and Chelsea's keen interest in familiarizing themselves with all of the details to ensure the ceremony would go as we envisioned and on schedule. Chef Reshad and his team also helped us craft a delicious menu that incorporated several customizations as well. The venue itself is incredible and the Aquatopia team is professional and talented - thank you for all your help!

We had our wedding there October 2023 and our day was nothing short of perfect. From the stunning florals and decor, to the fantastic food, to the amazing team that they have, to the stunning venue itself, it is really perfect for weddings.

Aquatopia did our wedding florals. Our flowers were stunning! We ordered bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, a bunch of boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen, and family members, as well as bud vases for our dinner tables. We sent them a few pictures of what we had in mind, and loved what Aquatopia put together for us! The flowers lasted beautifully and were very fresh. Working with Aquatopia - especially Alex, who was amazing - was easy and the florals were also great value for money.

Had the most wonderful wedding experience. Down to the small details you don’t think about up to the most incredible floral displays I’ve ever seen. All the Aquatopia staff went above and beyond for us, and we truely felt like a part of the family. My husband and I both worked so hard for this wedding and it was worth every single cent spent. They took care of everything from the food, drinks, organising our vendors, to the perfect floral and decor designs. 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking about Aquatopia for their wedding!

We got married at Aquatopia on Sept 19, 2020 (original date May 30, 2020) The good - Venue (gorgeous, one of a kind place) - All in one (can hold ceremony/dinner/reception all at one location) - Internal Vendors (They take care of decorations/flowers/food/drinks/event coordinator) - Drinks (Can provide open bar at LCBO prices, cannot be beat) - Food (was fantastic, Chef Reshad is a amazing) - Decorations/floral (high quality, exactly what we wanted) - DJ (Aquatopia recommended Fresh Events so we went with them. Evan was an amazing DJ) - Event Coordinator (Ella @ RSVP Events. Highly highly highly recommend, saved our wedding) -Service staff (all very professional and kind) The bad - Communication (Was horrendous. We gave them the benefit of the doubt when COVID first hit, but it became way too much of a recurring theme when we were trying to re-plan/re-schedule our wedding in the spring/summer). We understand that things were constantly changing, but we were asking questions and not hearing back for weeks at a time. I would have to consistently reach out to the GM in order to get any type of response. They caused a lot of added stress to an already very stressful time for us. I know losing sleep is an expression, but there were nights where we actually didn't sleep over it. -Event Coordinator (Aquatopia didn't have anyone on staff to help us until they contracted Ella from RSVP Events 4 weeks before our wedding. Ella was fantastic but our life would have been much much easier if we had this person all along as we thought we would have when we signed our contract) Overall our wedding day went pretty flawlessly. The venue was decorated beautifully, the food was sensational and all our guests had nothing but amazing, positive things to say. Unfortunately for us, the time leading up to the wedding day wasn't so great. Hopefully they can clean up their communication issues.

Terrible customer service but great grounds

We had our wedding at Aquatopia this past weekend and it was magical. The venue is beautiful on it's own but the floral and design team did an amazing job with the flower arrangements and bouquets and really brought our vision to life. The food was also great. The entire team was so helpful and easy to work with. Shoutout to the coordinator, Kayde, especially for taking care of all the little details and for solving a few unexpected issues on the day of.

What a great experience from beginning to end with the Aquatopia crew. As many people I had to navigate a wedding in the pandemic and their support was incredible. From meeting Ryan in 2019 and planning our wedding for Oct 2020, which got moved to Oct 2021 where I was working closely with Kayde & Jenn, they have been incredible. The venue is breathtaking & almost turn key. Jenn even did our menus & seating chart, and as a bride I felt like they took care of everything. They listened to what I wanted and made it look even better than we could have imagined. Food was good, service was good, absolutely no complaints. Our guests were also blown away by the wedding. We did a black & gold wedding and I am happy to share pictures with anyone that would want to see them. It was elegant & the florals Jenn did were stunning. I go to this place in the winter the most to be surrounded by tropicals and sit by the koi pond. I journal under the canopy in the corner and relax to the sound of the water. The cafe was nice when it was open, but I felt they could do a lot more with it. Yoga under the stars is there I know, and you could book the big room for large groups for meetup lunches.

Pretty disappointed in my plant purchase. I bought three in total. Two of them look pretty good but my $50 lemon tree came with a fungal infection and died early on. EDIT: The Aquatopia team contacted me shortly after my review and offered a $50 voucher to make up the lemon tree. They were very professional and back their products. I'd shop here again.

I'm a wedding planner and the team at Aquatopia saved my couple's wedding when their other venue couldn't operate during Covid. Not only is their coordination team professional, responsive and sharp but their floral team is fantastic as well (shout out to Jen and Melanie who both worked on my own floral team before Aquatopia)!. 100% recommend for couples looking for an all-inclusive venue.

Healthiest plants I have ever got, in love with this place!!

Where can I begin? Ok, since retaining this venue it has been a literal breeze collaborating with them. Cassandra was a pleasure working out the administrative part. Fast forward to day of. I'm sure most people would imagine, it's an overwhelming day! We had Jordan a our coordinator and everyone just loved and adored her. She was our knight in shinning armor. She held it down for us! We've made a friend for life, honestly. The food. Incredible. Had to hug to chef the following day. Wish I could thank the entire team of cooks. The floral and decor..... beyond our expectations... Dj....bangers after bangers. These guys knew what they doing. Thank you, thank you, thank you to this team of professionals. I wish I got to spend more time with all of them just as much as our guests.

I had breakfast with my daughters at the Aquatopia Cafe. The venue is absolutely stunning, a true oasis in Kanata! Staff was great too, warm and accommodating. However the food was mediocre at best, not a lot of selections either, and way too sweet on almost EVERYTHING! That aside, we really enjoyed the venue, the goldfish, the frog and the cat. It's probably going to be even more satisfying in the middle of the Canadian winter.

This is a top notch facility. We were there to plan a wedding. The service was excellent and complete. They handle everything even a shuttle service to near by hotels and into the city. They provide a beautiful setting with catering, flowers, bar service and even fire works. The staff were excellent and they can accommodate 150 people.

We went when it was open to the public just to take a look around and thought it very lovely with many beautiful plants arranged in such a way as to make one think they were in a tropical escape. The large ceiling fans created a lovely breeze that made me think of the Caribbean, although not quite so warm! The nursery part seemed to carry predominately water plants, although they do carry hibiscus plants, both single and double petal blossoms.

Absolutely beautiful place. Loved the greenhouse, plants were well taken care of and all are for sale :) Food was delicious, although I have to say service could have been better. Waitress completely forgot about us for half an hour, and by the time she came to take our order breakfast was over. However she did slightly make up for it by allowing us to have breakfast anyway. Other than her mistake place was wonderful, the chefs even came out to our tables to see how we liked the food. Who doesn't like eating next to an indoor waterfall and pond full of fish? Would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the service we received with that waitress

We just had our wedding at Aquatopia and they did the most amazing job. I cannot speak more highly of them. We came to them with a seemingly impossible request and they successfully planned our wedding in just one month! The wedding turned out so beautifully. We did both a christian and hindu ceremony as well as our reception at Aquatopia. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding/event venue. Thank you Aquatopia for making this such a memorable experience!!

Aquatopia was the perfect venue for our March wedding. Every guest commented on what a beautiful venue it was with all the lush greenery and tropical feel. Our wedding coordinator (Ryan) was incredibly helpful in making sure each and every detail was taken care of for our big day. The chef (Reshad) cooked up a delicious feast for our guests and made sure to accommodate every allergy. The flowers by Justyne were beautiful and she brought to life the vision we had for a lush winter romantic floral feel. The staff were very courteous and fast taking care of our guests’ needs from a new drink to serving each course at the same time. Yesterday hubby and I were at this hidden gem. Enter into a tropical garden winter or summer and find yourself transported to the tropics , where you will be surrounded by tropical plants and flowers and the sounds of trickling water. Enjoy the on site bar . I highly recommend that you think of this spot when you need an escape from the realities of our northern climate.

Just beautiful! I have been looking for larger tropical plants for months. Aquatopia happened to have every plant I have been searching for. The staff is very friendly and professional. The cafe area is stunning. This is a great place to come and relax. The plants range from around 5$ and up. I plan to visit often.

Went for the Yoga Under the Stars. It was beautiful inside. Want to go back for brunch.

This venue is amazing and the coordinator is very personable. This establishment is our number one choice for our daughters wedding. However, we decided to book elsewhere, because of the extortionate pricing. The new venue choice are more flexible for what my daughter and fiance are looking for.

WOW I only stopped in to check out the plants and I was blown away. Prices are unbeatable for the few plants they do sell surprisingly. I'm a huge plant nerd and I gotta say this is the place to go. Worth just checking it out

We really loved working with Aquatopia to plan our wedding! Their coordinators, Madison and Chelsea, were excellent to deal with, extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their venue and services, and instrumental in helping us plan our wedding from a different city. Chef Reshad, Sara and the rest of the catering staff were very sensitive about various dietary restrictions we had with our guests and treated every request as if it were an allergy. We really appreciated their openness to brainstorm and find other food solutions to please everyone! Everyone we dealt with at Aquatopia made our wedding planning process seamless and enjoyable! We were so pleased with how everything turned out and would highly recommend the venue for a wedding.

We recently had our wedding on September 14th at Aquatopia. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! I have nothing negative to say about this place and their staff! Everyone was extremely helpful and always very quick to respond to any inquiries we had. We had a full vegan wedding and Chef Reshad was able to help us create a menu that even non-vegans would love!! Madison and Chelsea were so great with helping us plan and coordinate all of the big details like the fireworks over the glass ceiling to the little details like putting our thank you tags on our succulent wedding favours! They were absolutely amazing to work with! The florals were also jaw dropping! The team at Aquatopia was able to pull off a fairytale wedding and I couldn't have done it without them! Definitely worth every penny! Would suggest Aquatopia and their team to help anyone through their wedding day! They had everything under control at all times which made my life so much easier! I bought quite a few plants from here but my string of dolphins was infested with mealy bugs .. and now i am combating a mealy bug infestation because I didnt catch it fast enough.
