    DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO PET SMART!! They not only shaved but badly injured my dood. The groomer who did this is named Coleen not only was just rude but incredibly disrespectful and unapologetic. They also called me and told me to come early despite my appointment time and have no respect for your pet. They cut my dog's ears and made him bleed on top of shaving him down and making him hideous. DO NOT TAKE your dog here for grooming, ever. They also took my money before even showing me my dog and it's clearly done intentionally.

    Has exactly what you need for a wide range of pets. Shelves are organized by species, which makes finding things easy. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

    Absolutely HORRIFIED about their beta fish care. The tiny cups they store them in for display are disgusting and in humane. Half of the fish are literally DYING and I have plenty of photos. They also promote tanks that are way too small for proper care. You’d think a pet store would care about the quality of life for the animals they sell but they couldn’t be bothered. DO NOT SHOP HERE AND DO NOT BUY YOUR FISH (or any pets for that matter) HERE. I will NOT be back and I’ll be making calls.

    People working here are friendly and knowledgeable. The groomers are excellent when they're working. I had THREE appointments cancelled in a row with no offer to rectify the situation. Do not count on this location for appointments.

    Dog training at this location is fantastic! Amber is such a great trainer. She is always so kind, passionate and positive! We did the Beginner training with our dog and after a great experience, we’ve gone back for Intermediate, Advanced and Brain Games. The other staff here are also friendly and helpful.

    I would like to say Cashier 393852 is an amazing employee, she calmly diffused a rude/erratic, customer then helped everyone with a positive disposition and kindness. Unfortunately I didn’t see her name however my receipt said Cashier 393852 so I hope she gets proper recognition from doing a great job.

    Exactly a month today, I ran into this store frantically looking for a recommended dog crate for our dog. This wasn't a usual store visit as the rest of my family and our dog were at the airport hoping and praying I make it back in time to catch our flight to Calgary - the airline had given me a time deadline to be back to the airport or risk having our booking rescheduled to next day. This would have had a negative ripple effect on the rest of our itinerary, in addition to the extra hotel cost in Ottawa had our booking been postponed. So, as I ran into the store frantically looking for assistance, then came STEPHANE! Upon realizing my plight, he not only assisted me in quickly selecting the right dog crate, but also went further to quickly assemble the crate for me, all in a bid to make sure I made it back to the airport in time for our flight. STEPHANE saved the day for me, my family and our pet! Because of his swift response and generosity, I was able to make it just in time to the airport to catch our flight - You should have seen the smile on everyone's faces, including the elation from the airline staff when I ran into the departure hall with the dog crate 😁. Thank you so much STEPHANE for your kindness, and for sharing your humanity ❤️. God bless.

    I called asking if they have kittens available for adoption on that day, and they said yes. We go there, apparently the volunteer person was only coming at 6pm. I was like sure not a problem, although they could have told me that over the phone, nevertheless we come back at 6pm, and apparently according to one of the staff,the volunteer guy that was supposed to come at 6pm he's usually the guy who is always late 😁. Waited 15mins , he didn't show up. Date Saturday September 23. Thanks

    The location is well kept. The staff (other than the managers) are fantastic. I have not been to this location in years because of the horrible treatment by the managers of the Pets Hotel. Use the store. Use the groomers. Do not use the Pets Hotel. To be clear. The staff are great just not the managers. They do not know how to treat their PAYING customers with the respect they deserve.

    Very poor experience with their pet grooming services. Rude staff member who failed to explain their policies around rapid services ($110 for B&Cut of a miniature schnauzer) and then rudely gave the client terrible attitude for not being able to show up within 15 min of her call. This was a second chance we gave this groomer, same problem. Take your pet to a different location or company where they will appreciate you as a client.

    Absolutely pleased with the experience today . Took my Husky today for bath and grooming, knowing fully well he is not the easiest dog to get groomed as he hates having his paws touched or getting dried . Previous times I’ve taken him , he hasn’t come out very clean , or dried and his nails have never been trimmed. Well, today Ashley made a huge difference ; I don’t know what she did or how , but my dog must have loved her . For the first time in all the years I’ve taken him to PetSmart, he came out super clean , fully brushed , ears cleaned , completely dried , his nails trimmed, no more click click click on my floors . Thank you so much Ashley , Kike looked very handsome and very spoiled

    Pet smart is awesome - getting all my pet needs met at a couple convenient locations near my house while I run errands is awesome. The west Ottawa store is great with my dog, they've helped me socialize her in a safe setting at doggy day camp and I love the option of having her groomed during her day camp time! The location is also near lots of shopping which is convenient for a busy chore day! Great team and awesome services. I also love the multi visit packages!

    I will NEVER buy fish here again. I am an experienced fish owner of over 15 years. I purchased 5 Cory doras which ALL quickly died on me. They came with a parasite which unfortunately also killed half of my other fish in the tank.I went back and informed them that all the fish I bought there died and got brushed off. I then took a look at the fish there out of curiosity and found a good chunk of the tanks filled with these poor fish (still for sale) dying of ick, fungus, Fin rot, etc.

    Unhelpful and terrible cancelations from them. Usually they do a great job on the grooming. The issue is when they have to cancel. I was first called by them to change times a week before my dogs appointment to a much more difficult time to make it but that’s ok. The worst part was the day before the grooming appointment I was called saying my appointment was cancelled, and the next appointment they had was over two weeks in the future. We already booked this appointment more than two weeks before so my dog was in crucial need for a cut and waiting until June to get one would be torture for my dog. You would think they would offer to reach out to all the other petsmart locations and put the cancelled dogs on all the cancellation lists to help out but instead after asking about this I was told that that’s not their problem and to do it myself. You would also assume they would offer a discount on the next cut for our troubles but once again I was told that’s not possible. So to some it up the grooming is decent but if anything comes up you are on your own and they will do nothing to help take care of there issues. Horrible customer service

    Sylvie in my opinion was a life saver today!!! We had an unfortunate issue with our 65 gallon fish tank. The bottom seam let go at 10pm. My wife and I spent the next 4hrs trying to save our fish and floors. As seen in photo below all we could do was try to make temporary tanks out of rubbermaid totes. I called Petsmart first thing the next morning. I explained situation to the nice man who answered phone and he directed me to manager Sylvie. I explained to Sylvie our issue. She helped me go over what tanks they have in stock. Not only did she make our day by willing to do over the phone order in a time of need. Sylvie gave me a cherry on top by saying tank was on sale 50% off from what I was seeing online. Photo below is of the beautiful new tank. Great customer service in an emergency type situation. Thank you again Sylvie and staff.

    This is where I go to get everything I need for my furry little friends (cats) and the selection in addition to their customer reward system and in-app/printed receipt coupons, I think that I have saved a lot of money. They carry quality food for cats and dogs, as well as just about every other domestic house pet. The cheaper ones are also available, however I prefer to give my animals quality, and the loyalty discounts on many of the top-tier brands is incredibly helpful when you are on a budget. If I had to guess about how the employee felt about their jobs, I would have to assume that the love their jobs! I do not remember a time when I was not greeted by the closest cashier upon entering the doors, and I am always greeted with a smile! That goes a long way with many customers, such as myself. Also, when I have a question, there are NEVER shortages of CORRECT answers from these hard-working individuals. I know that my pets are in good hands with the information that I am given! To all staff, administrative and floor employees: never stop the hard work and dedication you provide! It is always a fantastic pleasure shopping here!

    The dog trainer, Amber, is in a word, wow. A natural with any animal handed to her. Expecting to learn lots in our intermediate class!!! I'm super keen to see our puppy settle into some calculus amongst other things. Nothing looks impossible!

    I used to go to the store years ago regularly recently I had been going to a local pet value but now my place of work is near this location and thought I’d give it a try. They denied me access to isles where the food I needed for my pet was because they were conducting a puppy class. Won’t be going back there as apparently they don’t want my money. This was actually the second negative experience in a row. I waited 20 minutes to speak with someone about a certain pet they sell before I gave up on the previous visit. Do not recommend.

    Left my dog at the hotel for a few days, upon picking him up I witnessed a staff member in the play room yelling at the dogs and spraying them with a water bottle. I emailed the store about this disgusting interaction and they confirmed that they train their staff to spray the dogs... I never gave consent nor do their docs state they will use this abusive and unproductive method when dogs are simply playing. My dog had anxiety when I picked him up and now I have no way of knowing if it was from seperation or from mistreatment. Regardless, I will be sharing this story and emails everywhere possible as people deserve to know that their animals will be mistreated at this facility.

    We love the pet hotel and doggy day camp! We’ve brought our puppy for both services and she absolutely loves playing with the staff and dogs. She also now recognizes the building and gets super excited when we pull up to the parking lot. The staff is so friendly and you can tell they really care for the dogs!

    This PetSmart is my favourite location to shop at even though it's a bit farther than my closest one. The store is bigger so the selection is wider; I can browse and find everything I need plus find extra goodies for my furbabies! This location has a Hotel, Grooming and Adoption Centre.

    Huge selection of pet foods. We ended up getting stuff for our new kitten. I just wish they had a bigger selection of cat carriers though. The one we ended up buying was very pricey and I wish I had gone to Walmart for that.

    Don’t use the pet hotel, manager is rude and mean to the animals. I saw her yell at a cat and then give it the finger as she was leaving ( as if the cat would recognize it). She cancelled my reso because they were over booked, I get it, but they never told me. Imagine how fun that was! The staff seemed nice enough but it was obvious the main manager was hated. They avoided her like a stinky chew toy! Oh and she actually called the animals the “little shitters”. Don’t trust this lady with your pet.

    Great staff quite helpful. Our daughter asked us to take over her aquarium. We are total noobs. Folks here have been great to help us. Had to replace the aquarium and they had stock and helped get it into our car on a cold night. We also have a couple of cats and pick up things for them from this location.

    Conveniently located by the Ottawa Humane Society so if you adopt a furry friend and need to grab an essential item, then you can stop by here. Note that the cat litter is not located in the cat aisle but rather in the back left corner.

    The dog grooming salon is aces. They love my dog, my dog loves them. They are so gentle with her and I've never had issues with the nail trim/grind. Great experience. The treats sold in store should be reviewed. They can be dangerous to pets and can be of poor quality. Tldr: the employees in store are superstars but corporate needs a talking to.

    Three weeks ago, I booked a hotel stay for my kitten. I dropped off my kitten at pet smart before 3 hours of my flight. My kitten was neutered 3 weeks ago, and while I was asked all the details about his medical condition on the phone, no one mentioned that if there are any stitches, they won't be able to take him.They asked me to leave and take my kitten with me, and they didn't make any arrangements since I had to catch my flight in three hours. The horrible part is how they keep your cats in a small cage for days and charge you 30 dollars per day. I wouldn’t recommend their service at all. Stay away from them and keep your pets safe!!!!!

    April 12/23 Riley had a great experience today. Groomer Ashley was very gentle and patient with him. He tends to get a little hyper under this situation, but we found the right place for his needs ! ❤️ the girls there.

    Store is great, a lot of products and mostly knowledged employees, it is definitely better for dogs and cats, for lizards on the other hand (which is the only reason I go sometimes) definitely doesnt look like they are living happy lives. Little knowledge for them, but they do offer decent products for them, some they shouldn't as they are controversial in the community but most are good choice products. Very happy to see Arcadia products offered now.

    No matter how busy the staff is, they are quick to help out with a last minute phone order while I wait in the car. Despite the staff now becoming personal shoppers, I’m amazing with their efficiency and helpfulness. Given that many of us are struggling to balance work, helping our kids with school, and other added stresses during these challenging times, it’s important to say how much we appreciate when the companies we give our business to go the extra distance to be helpful and cheery. Keep-up the great work!

    I never entered this place. I parked and called, put in an order and paid via credit card then drove to the entrance and they brought out the order. It was all well enough, except they couldn't take debit, so if that's all you have save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

    I foolishly tried cutting my 6 month old puppy’s hair and continued making it worse and worse. I called the groomers at pet smart here to help. Kayla was super knowledgeable on my dogs breed and did an amazing job fixing my mistakes. My dog Holly also came back super happy from her visit.. and me as well! (Last photo is the BEFORE)

    Rented a carpet cleaning Machine 2 day rental. was unable to return machine for almost 2 weeks due to mobility issues. The crew there were so very helpful, kind compassionate and understanding.     Store - There is a wide variety of all items required for pets and best priced (what I have found). Staff are very friendly as well! Puppy Class - We had our pup complete the Beginner Class and Amber was an amazing teacher/trainer. Both our Doodle and us had a blast throughout the 6 classes and learnt a lot. Recommend this Pet Smart :)

    The grooming service is awful. We booked a month before, even got the confirmation email said everything was scheduled, and no problem. However, when we went on that day, we were told that staff resigned, and no body could take care of our dog. The earliest availability would be three weeks later. NO ONE CALLED US TO CANCEL THE SERVICE IN ADVANCE!!! Very unprofessional management. Will never go again.

    We have a dog who is... spirited. It would not be possible to raise her without the wonderful staff at the PetSmart Petshotel. They are so caring, loving, and accepting of her and her eccentricities. There's a saying that we don't deserve dogs and that may be true. But we also don't deserve the incredible people who take care of our dogs, especially this group of folks.

    Life, as they say, happens, and for me it happened this morning. I had a 9:00 a.m. grooming appointment with Ashley G. but had a last-minute work meeting scheduled for 8:30. I called ahead to say I would be late and was told no worries, but not to be later than 9:30. Fantastic I thought. However, what is usually a 10 to 15 minute drive turned into a 30 minute drive due to traffic and I arrived at 9:31. Was I late? Yup, no question. But I was told that because I was 1 minute past the 30 minute window she gave me, I would have to reschedule because of safety concerns for another dog in the back room. I guess the safety concerns jump dramatically in that one minute!!!! Even though there are closer Pet Smart locations to me, I have been buying my dog food ($130.00 a bag) ,cat food, and taking my dogs to this location for years because I have had nothing but professional customer service from the groomers (such as Colleen) and staff. Until today that is. I did talk to the Manager Meagan who patiently listened to my complaint, but to her credit she stood by her employee. “Sorry, if the groomer feels that there is a safety concern, she has the right to refuse you, even if it's 1 minute past our 30 minute window". And that she did! Personally, it felt more to me like Ashley G. was saying “don’t screw with my time buddy" than it had to do with any safety concerns. Given that I had to wait 6 weeks for this appointment, i don't think they will be overly concerned that they have lost my business going forward. Would I recommend this location? Ya sure, why not. Would I recommend Ashley G as a groomer? Not a chance!!!!

    Immaculate store compared to some pet smarts we’ve visited :). My fiancé and I have gotten into fish keeping in the past year, and we were very impressed with how well taken care of the aquariums were. Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable as well! Definitely recommend this location for fish friends :)

    This particular petsmart does not have the best customer service compared to other locations. They don't seem to follow their own policy that states on the website if a customer is dissatisfied with a product they can return the product.
