    I've only waited max 5-8 minutes whenever I've needed to call. Receptionists have always been very friendly & efficient. And the doctors & nurses are fantastic. The other reviews look scary but it's completely different from my personal experience. Grateful to have a family doctor at this clinic.

    I am extremely disappointed with how the receptionists handle phone calls at the clinic. I attempted to call three times, and nobody answered, prompting me to visit the clinic in person. I found that the receptionists, about 80% of them, seemed to have an attitude problem. When I was at the clinic, I tried calling again, and most of the receptionists were free, chatting with each other, and ignoring calls. It's frustrating because they don't seem to understand the distress a sick person might be going through. They should empathize and consider the situation if it were their family member suffering. The receptionists are paid to care for those in need, yet they don't seem to show any concern. On the other hand, the nurses and doctors are extremely kind, and I appreciate their excellent service to Kanata residents. I hope someone in authority reads this review and takes steps to improve the reception services, as unanswered calls only worsen patients' suffering

    This clinic doesn't seem to be in the business of helping their patients. Given the current situation I am trying to limit physical contact, for the good of everyone. So when I was told that I couldn't book an appointment via email, I was a bit puzzled. The receptionist by the name of "Anna" emailed me back to explain that I'd have to call if I want to make an appointment. Why? You are at a computer where you received my email, why not make an appointment? Why add in the extra difficulty/step? In the past, they had no problem booking my appointments via email, so I'm confused by the backtracking in progress. The internet is a useful tool! The problem with this clinic is not the doctors, it's the reception. They're supposed to aid communication between patients and doctors, instead they are creating barriers. Looking for a new family doctor because of this. I DO NOT recommend this clinic if you're looking for a family physician.

    I have been a patient at this clinic for several years. Majority of my interactions with the clinic staff have been pleasant and helpful. However "Susan" receptionist was everything but that..So ignorant and rude. Perhaps Susan needs to find a job where she dosent need to speak or deal with patients since she lacks in common communication skills.

    Have been a patient for many years with a very good doctor. Our doctor left and it’s been a nightmare ever since. A different doctor every time so no consistency in service. Our daughter called today as she is out of province on vacation and had a UTI that needed a prescription. For anyone who suffers from urinary tract infections you know how difficult that is to function with. She was refused help as she was out of province - she’s an Ontario resident and covered by OHIP and no one will help her. Terrible. The reception is always rude and completely unempathetic! Very sad and disappointing

    I am new to this clinic and after reading the reviews was a bit nervous. I have since been twice and have nothing but positive things to say. Greeted well from front desk staff, nurses were caring / happy and Drs were open to conversation and upbeat.

    The most incompetent staff ever. You have to wait 3 weeks for a 15 minute phone appointment and then they’ll call you once at the wrong phone number and then you have to rebook another 3 weeks later. How they manage to screw up such simple tasks is truly marvelous, if you care about your health go somewhere else

    Terrible booking system and receptionists. My husband is a patient here and I called to get him an urgent care appointment, while on the phone the receptionist told me she booked a follow up appointment with his regular doctor and that I did not need to book one online. Doctor at urgent care ordered tests and said to follow up at next appointment so he went for the tests and then came in at the scheduled time. Now he is told there is no appointment and the receptionist there will not book him one. He has to do it online. If the first receptionist had just told me this information I would have booked online but she told me the follow up appointment was in the system. Incredibly confusing and unhelpful!

    I don’t understand the negative reviews at all. I’ve been a registered patient at this clinic for many many years and have never had anything but a positive experience. I would even say since the pandemic this place is even better. The reception folks are so friendly and kind, my appointments are on time and I feel fortunate to have found such an amazing clinic with great doctors and service.

    My doctor is amazing, but trying to book an appointment is atrocious. Twice in a row I had booked a 15 minute phone appointment (and the receptionist confirmed my number on file), and I never received a call. Tried to call the office and can't even get through on the phone line. Emailed as well, and all I get is a reply that they can reschedule in 3 weeks. Then I found out my doctor is not even in the office on the day my appointment was scheduled! So glad my doctor is leaving to start a new practice.

    Called them Friday AM. Very helpful and friendly. Gave me an appointment Saturday AM. Waited less than 5 minutes for the Doctor. All staff were efficient and professional. Great experience.

    I think this place is awful! They advertise walk in clinic and then they turn around say it’s for patients only? Don’t there patients have the ability to make appointments. Then don’t call it a walk in clinic if you are going to turn down people. I’ll never go back to this place. They wasted my time and there receptionist can be rude and ignore you.

    I called Saturday and Sunday and I was answered quickly. Perhaps waiting time is longer during the weekdays. Additionally, receptionists looked friendly. Anyway, I gave it one cuz both days were fully booked and the woman told me they can’t see me if I am not registered with them, which is the usual thing in Ottawa. So this is not a walk-in clinic then.

    I don’t know why people are giving poor reviews. I have been receiving excellent, timely care since it opened. A month ago I broke my ankle. The Nurse Practitioner sent me to QCH for an X-ray on a phone consult. X-ray revealed a break so Radiology sent me to ER for treatment. While waiting for treatment a doctor from Westend, who wasn’t even my family doctor, received the X-ray saw the break and immediately called both my phone numbers to tell me to go to ER. These calls were made AFTER HOURS! The following morning the Nurse Practitioner called me at the beginning of her shift to follow-up with me. This morning I had a minor urgent care issue. I called for a phone appointment and was called back by the doctor in less than 45 min. Thank you Westend Family Care Clinic! I am grateful to be part of your practice.

    this clinic does not adhere to the CPSO regulations or code of ethics. my mother is a cancer survivor diagnosed and has been without a doctor since 2020. dr firdosi refused her as a patient based on the introductory visit (not allowed), for reasons not recognized as valid by the code of ethics (also not allowed). when she emailed to inform them that the decision was unjust and unethical, by the CPSO’s own standards, and explained that as a cancer survivor, she desperately needs a physician, the receptionist called her and told her not to come back. save yourself the trouble of having to contact the CPSO about unethical practices like we had to, and don’t bother even trying to make an appointment.

    I can only speculate that the people managing this clinic are incompetent The overhead and time involved to see our Dr is pathetic. There appears to be no priority on delivering effective family healthcare. If finding a Dr. weren’t so difficult we would be gone yesterday.

    Despite the negative reviews posted here, I want to say my last two experiences have been very positive. Both times I was scheduled very quickly and the service was prompt, thorough and very friendly. I appreciate all the hard work the staff does to provide a high level of care. Thank you.

    Best clinic, very clean and everyone is very professional and friendly. Before I was a patient there I remember thinking the reception staff could be more friendly, but then I got to know them and saw how much traffic they deal with on a daily basis, they have to be consice otherwise they'd make no progress. As a result of them, the waits are never too long. Everyone is extremely patient, efficient, caring and the doctors are all extremely knowledgeable as one would expect. If you need to see your doctor you generally can book an appointment within a week, and if it is urgent you can generally see someone the same day but perhaps not your family doctor. This is one of the best, if not the best clinic in Ottawa and anyone lucky enough to get in as a patient will be in amazing hands.

    The audiologist at this clinic is amazing! She was determined to find the best hearing aids for me even though this required extra work for her. She is knowledgeable and experienced. She is very pleasant to deal with and is always available if minor adjustments are needed. She is an asset to the clinic.

    The receptionists are hopelessly impotent at doing their jobs. In this, they jeopardize the health of the patients. Beyond words. I wish the nurses and physicians would do something about that and get a more helpful front-desk staff.

    Unfortunately clinics are busy so although I can sympathize with some of the reviews, I am perhaps more understanding. The team at this clinic does their best to help in any way they can with the time they are given. The Drs are thorough and listen to your needs. I recommend them.

    This might the worst clinic in all of Ontario. From incredibly rude receptionists who grunt at you when checking in and say your personal information too loud, to mix up’s in appointments that no one takes responsibility for and mass turnover of physicians. The clinic was mediocre before Covid but terrible now. If I could find healthcare elsewhere, I would.

    Dr. Shapiro is fantastic; a knowledgeable doctor and, in short, a true gentleman who is most helpful and kind to his patients. The front desk staff are also wonderful, notably Vanessa, to whom I am super grateful for having so kindly booked my daughter's appointment so my child could get seen at the clinic. My daughter had been misdiagnosed at the hospital as having a viral infection and her case was worsening rapidly; thanks to Dr. Shapiro's timely assessment and diagnosis, we were able to get her treated for the bacterial infection she had so she could get better. Will always be immensely grateful to the staff for their professionalism and excellent patient care. The clinic is also very clean and tidy compared to other clinics. I highly recommend.

    My Dr is AMAZING but… reception service is awful. Lately to book an appointment is just a nightmare. You stay on the line for long, I mean long time and if you get Cindy on the phone with you be ready to deal with rudeness. I am not sure if the staff is under too much pressure but if they request respect they should be respectful.

    I walked into the clinic today for a scheduled appointment and they denied me healthcare because I did not have a mask on. I am not an anti-Covid person however, like a majority of Canadians I have done my part in staying healthy and safe if someone chooses to wear a mask to protect them that’s their prerogative. Health Canada does not require you to wear a mask indoors at this time. The ironic part of all of this is that the receptionist removed her mask when I was inside so she could sneeze multiple times and then put her mask on. Because that makes a lot of sense…. When I asked her, why are you sneezing with your mask off? She stated I don’t have an answer for that question. I feel like putting a negative review on here is pointless as there are so many if this was a normal industry, it would really affect a business however, given the industry they are in I guess they get away with it.

    I’ve been going to this clinic for over ten years. My family doctor is amazing, takes the time to diagnose, and follows up as needed. On a few occasions when I’ve been really sick, they have always managed to get me in the same day. Receptionists are consistently friendly and helpful. Very happy to be a patient here.

    I am tremendously grateful to Dr. Tran and the staff at this clinic for taking me on as a patient. I have received excellent care and truly appreciate the excellent, insightful help given to me concerning my health care needs. I have found they go beyond the necessary and have treated me as an individual with respect and care.

    This place has one of the best healthcare in town. The office staff are kind and very helpful. Dr. Shapiro took in my mother in-law for an emergency visit and was able to provide excellent care. The place is clean, easy to find and it has plenty of parking spots. Overall, I highly recommend Westend Family Care for great experience and reliable staff. Healthcare like this is hard to come by lately.

    I have been a patient here since its opened and I cannot fathom the disrespect I received tonight. After waiting 48 minutes on hold over the phone patiently, an extremely rude male who claimed to be named (Sam) gave me so much attitude over the phone. I wanted to get my refill prescription and make a phone appointment with my doctor before I leave on vacation and he was very discouraging, said EXTREMELY rude things to me and he even hung up on me when I was very patient and asked to speak to the manager. Also my doctor was there and she didn't take the phone. Absolutely terrible service. The male named Sam (probably gave me a fake name) should be fired or have extreme consequences.

    Dr. Fraser and the staff of this clinic are awesome. I am fortunate to be a patient of this clinic. Also, just got my flu shot there. From booking the appointment to receiving the flu shot was an incredibly efficient process. I sincerely appreciate all of them working during the pandemic and wish them all good health.

    The worst clinic ever. Don't waste your time by calling to this clinic never answer. If you go in-person they will tell you to call and make appointment but you can't make appointment BC they never answer the phone.

    I have been a patient here for about 15 years. When my family doctor is not available they schedule me with other doctors and they've all been great. They are very busy so I have found the best way to book an appointment is to email.

    My doctor ignored my concerns and then cancelled the appointment I made to address them. Calling the clinic never gets an answer and when I email them asking them to call me as their signs instruct the email back telling me to call them. Don't waste your time here. Better off seeing walk in doctors elsewhere.

    I recently visited the clinic in person. Everyone that dealt with us was pleasant and professional. I then phoned the clinic twice in the same day, 4 days after my visit. Both receptionist I spoke with were helpful and friendly.

    Dr Mottahedi was a terrible physician especially for anything relating to mental health. She has no regard for mental health issues at all and anytime I've discussed mental health with her, she always gave me attitude and treated me as if I were lying. Mental health already has a horrible stigma attached to it in all aspects of society including work, friends and family, I didn't need the stigma when I went to a doctor. Start taking mental health issues seriously as it's not a joke at all. You're playing with people's lives.

    I have been going to this clinic for 10+ years. I have never had any issues with my family doctor. However I will say I’ve had plenty of issues with the administration or lack of administration I should say. Phone calls go unanswered, no voicemail set up, and when I emailed them to reschedule my appointment after calling numerous times with no answer and not being able to leave a voicemail. Only to get a snarky, mean email back telling me to never email about appointments and that I was marked as a no show. What am I supposed to do? Get your stuff together west end family care clinic.

    I have been to this clinic twice now with my son that is under a year. Both times the staff was understanding and helpful in getting us into room quickly. The doctor was very good with my son and provided me with a lot of information.

    I have been going to WEFCC for several years now and have always been looked after with care and courtesy. This was noteworthy especially since my GP is in another clinic and not always open 24/7. More recently i have been looked after by Audiologist Evgenia for my degrading hearing problems. Her thorough approach and follow up care is definitely showing positive results. We have had repeated sessions to get everything right. I also recommend the LACE program which has helped my hearing through high ambient background noise conditions.

    If you are transferring from the MCNEELY MEDICAL CLINIC, they put the wrong phone number in the email and you end up calling the fax machine, that is not this places fault. Once I called the right number, my call was answered within 10 - 15 minutes which is great by todays standards in my opinion. The receptionist was GREAT to deal with. Reminder, these individuals have a high stress job and are probably spoken to rudely multiple times a day. You get what you give. If you are pleasant, they are beyond pleasant. To the lady I spoke to at reception! I HOPE YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY! Thank you for the great service and laughs!

    I have a family doctor here and have always received great care. But I find their website and receptionists are not on the same page. Website says they can take non-clinic walk in appointments if they have space, but when calling receptionists claimed that’s false and they’ll only see you if you have a doctor there. (Obviously not a problem for myself, but rather for my partner who tried to call). Highly suggest someone clarify their website. Lots seems to be out of date.

    Outstanding service by the reception team! I have had severe but non-urgent symptoms for the last 7 days and have driven to several “walk-in” clinics today - all of which turned me away due to high capacity (before noon!) and had no information or care to help. I arrived at this location, was instantly greeted and after informing me this isn’t a walk-in location, two receptionist asked me what was wrong and proceeded to walk me through several options for where I could receive care. They were kind and empathetic, even with my RBF from my previous experiences that day. 10/10. If this is just the reception, I can’t wait to meet the doctors! They added me to their waitlist and I hope to hear back soon!

    Horrible and deceptive messaging about registration. They lie to callers saying that you walk on to register. When you speak to the front desk on the phone to get more information, the receptionist says that oops, they finished registration 2 years ago. Talk about ethically disorganized and deceptive practice. Thumbs down clinic if politics and lies.👎
