Okanagan Lake Park Dog Beach

Tourist attraction Park

👍 Great space that is nicely fenced off. Beautiful walk thru the park and some near by garden the way to the beach. However, we found lots of broken glass (beer) along the shore line. Maybe from boaters tossing beer bottles into the lake??? Collected 4 handfuls. Have a carefully look when you arrive.... People often mention beach, dogs,

Great space that is nicely fenced off. Beautiful walk thru the park and some near by garden the way to the beach. However, we found lots of broken glass (beer) along the shore line. Maybe from boaters tossing beer bottles into the lake??? Collected 4 handfuls. Have a carefully look when you arrive. A cut paw or foot would certainly ruin the fun!

It's currently locked due to social distancing (hopefully the restrictions will be lifted soon!) but when it's open... How blessed are we to get the best view while our dogs run and play in clean water in a Sandy beach. There is the odd broken glass, but part of being a responsible dog owner is helping clean that up. Penticton is a town to move to if you love dogs.

Nice Fenced in area close to main beach and walking paths. It is very rocky, so can be slippery for the pooch, and lots of broken glass. I'm always concerned about possible damage to paw pads.

I love being close to the water! This "doggie" park is a nice place to stop and reflect on things before diving back in. It is clean and the dogs are on leashes or under the watchful eyes of their owner(s).

It's fine not very large and fencing isn't great to keep in the dogs but if you're dog listens you shouldn't have any issues off leash

My favourite dog beach in the area. Quite rocky in the water but an easy decline into swimming depth for both my lab and I. Clean and sandy beach that I would feel comfortable sunbathing at or playing with my dog.

Beach is great, but there is only one door leading in (not the double caged area) and our exuberant puppy escaped twice. Only downfall though and we learned to watch out!

It's a very small area but was perfect since the dogs can run on the beach and in the water. The water stays quite shallow so even the poor swimmers like mine can try to learn.

Too small for the number of people and dogs who use this space.

👍👍 All I can say is wow. These dessert milkshakes and ice creams are crazy. I don’t know what to call them but they are awesome if you have a sweet tooth it hits a home run. 😐 To many dogs on the people beach. Bi-law just rolled on by didn't do a thing. Not sure why we have specific bi-law officers for animals if they don't do anything. Waste of tax payers money. On a high note the public washrooms were better than normal. Less drug addicts in the area as well.

👍👍 Great little museum. It was pleasant to walk around with my family and not too many people. I loved the personal items on display as well - it was like stepping back in time. Definitely worth the the small entry fee.

👍👍 The garden is named after Penticton's sister city Ikeda, Japan. It is a garden among the beach front parks and beaches along the scenic Okanagan Lake, which is located right downtown. The garden shares the location with the Penticton Art Gallery. A beautiful place for all seasons. There is a lot to...
