The room is very tiny you can not not even open your trolley. When I opened the room it strongly smelled like chemicals or pest control & cockroaches fell down from ceiling. There are lot of cockroaches and I think the whole hotel is pest controlled since you can smell the chemical everywhere. Very worst experience. I would recommend not to go for this.

A sad and boring stay at Tune Hotel Georgetown Penang. Thought my next hotel review would be this as I love to go to New World Park for the wide variety of food. Then headed on for a Karaoke session at Loudspeaker. What a regrettable decision picking this hotel ! Summary : Totally no security from lift to room! Where is your security guard? No need to scan keycards either!! Lift is at ground floor. Lobby is at 2nd Floor! (1st floor is soooooo spooky.....). I asked for two keycards upon checking in, unfortunately they refused to give. Once i stepped into the room there were specks of ashes all over the bed cover and towels, tried swiping it off, it stained the sheets instead.. Definitely ash.. Possibly form cigarettes? More stains on the bedsheets as well! No place to even hang my towels. What took a really bad turn was there was no TV!!! Where is the TV??? I have to literally stare at the bathroom door only?? It was sooo boring being coup up in the room, we just decided to go out and walk around Nagore Square, Giant, etc. Basic amenities : Only two tiny tube of shampoo and two pieces square soap. Two bottles of drinking water provided. No toothbrush, no lotion, no conditioner, no coffee making facilities, no CUPSSS! Only one flipped up/down wood plank that was supposed to be a table? at corner with no chairs. Whatever it is for, it is just plain useless. Plus point: Service from reception is ok. That's about the service you will get. Aircond works fine, with a ceiling fan.? Food around this area is plentiful. 7-11 directly downstairs. There's no window in our room. Shower with heater works fine. Oh yeah, super small toilet, so not so suitable for those who are claustrophobic. Sitting on the throne your knees will be touching the walls on both sides.. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. and who installed hair dryer directly above the sink tap? How dangerous it would be if water splashes into the hair dryer? Stay out, don't stay in, unless you don't mind being bored in the room. Last in my list at the moment. If you have a choice, pick that choice instead of this. For the price in similar range, Loop on Leith ( with smart tv) , Kimberly Hotel, Le Embassy, (both at least with Vision Four) Southern Boutique. Goldenview etc....Tune is definitely NOT an option to take unless you seriously want to be bored to death or last option. No star given if possible. We checked out early in the morning.. Just bored. Extremely bored.

the hotel located at a very strategic location, cheap fare for ehailing to cruise around the city. walking distance to komtar. the room is small, worth the price. but it is okay and comfy for sleeping and rest. the toilet is clean except for the sink, it was leaking. but overall is okay, good service from the staff.

Quite a small room but the necessities are available and very comfortable especially for the price offered for the room

Clean room, working aircond and fan, toilet with hot water and basic amenities. Good location. Good price. Wondering why some people were complaining about this hotel. At the budget price you get please don't expect 5 star facilities. If you want all the facilities you expect then please go stay at a 5 star hotel and pay a 5 star price.

If possible get the room with a window regardless of the view. You need to "air" the small room. When you first enter the room you will be overwhelmed by the moldy and damp smell. The room is dusty and some of the area eg: bedside lamp. The curtain cannot be fully close. I use the hanger to "kiap" the curtain. (Refer to photo). The bed is medium soft, the water pressure is high and the water heater is constantly hot. Can turn on the ac and fan at the same time. It is very comfortable to sleep.

I will not stay in a hotel with poor security. They allowed a car to block the only access to the hotel car park. I complained to the front office and they just replied they will look into it. Next, the air-con swing flap does not open fully. Although there was cool air, we needed the fan to distribute the cool air effectively. I will not stay here again.

Reasonably okay for a budget hotel, only book here for the solely reason of a room to stay overnight, don't expect much from this hotel. No secure car park for guest (mainly the car park is for 'vip', staff will tell you it's 'first come, first serve, but when vehicle exited out the premise, the guard won't bother to let anyone in UNLESS there's some big shot/dato guest) , no tv, room was badly maintain and not spacious. Price was roughly 30-40% per night compared to a 4-5 star hotel.

We were shocked to find our assigned room was in deep mess. After lodged a complaint, the manager changed and upgraded our room to a queen bed-sized room with a window. Do not expect a TV in the room as it is already stated in the website that no TV is provided. Other than that, everything is good especially on site parking and strong WiFi.

Never ever going to book this again πŸ‘Ž Pro: location Fan (ceiling) Cons : size of room(very tiny) Insects in room Window opens to another window Dirty floor

During my trip in Asia I wanted to avoid the busy cities for a couple of days and recharge in Penang. I have therefore chosen this hotel, slightly more expensive than I would normally spend on a hotel in Malaysia. Anyway, I had a room on 9th floor, quiet, no traffic noise. Only the sound of noisy people after 1am. Especially when they slam their door! The room is 'cleaned' every other day (they onlyΒ make up the bed). The towels (1 large and 1 small) were not changed once during my stay of 5 nights! I even put them, still wet, on the bed then I found them hanging to dry. Ridiculous! During my trip in Malaysia I got new towels every day at cheaper hotels with less stars. I expect a hotel, like this, to do this every day. The room was very small, even for me as a solo traveler. The bathroom and toilet is one third of the whole room. The toilet could also use a freshener because it stank of urine. People also smoking in the department, I can just smell it in the room. Also no waterbottle(s), just a watercooler at the lobby to refill your own. The location is perfect, easy to reach by bus from the airport and all other places of interest. The staff was very friendly though! :)

Tune hotel is the hotel that my travel agency Teja Wisata chose when I joined Thailand-Penang, 4-7 February 2023. I stayed at the Tune Hotel on the last day, 6-7 February 2023. On 7 February 2023 at midnight I arrived near the hotel . The road in front of the hotel is jammed because it coincides with the last day of the Thaipusam celebration. The size of the hotel room is not large but comfortable to rest. With a queen size bed placed in the middle it makes the room look quite cramped but still leaves a place for worship for Muslim visitors. The manager also provides Qibla directions. The manager also responds to rooms that are not spacious by providing a place to store luggage and clothes in the corner of the room and a folding table as a place to store things. Even though it was quite noisy outside the hotel because of the Thaipusam celebration, I didn't hear the noise so I could rest in peace. What I like most about this hotel is the bathroom. The bathroom is quite spacious. There is a separator between the toilet, sink area and shower so I can put my skincare and clothes without fear of splashing water from the shower. The water heater in the bathroom works fine so I can clean myself before resting. There are several electrical socket locations so that I can charge my electronic equipment at the same time without having to use other electrical aids.

I had been staying here yearly since this hotel was established. I paid for two nights stay since 10th Oct 2022(1st Night). Today is my 2nd Night. I had been out since morning and I came back to my room at 3.30pm. To my surprise, my room was not made up( Didn't clean at all). All towels and pillow covers and bed sheets were not changed. This morning, b4 I went out, I had hung up the Notice to make up my room.I immediately went to complain at the reception counter for this type of service. The female staff on duty told me that they wouldn't make up the room even I had hung up the Notice! She said I had to personally inform the reception to 'Make Up' the room after I had hung the Notice. I find that Tune Hotel services have degraded to it's Lowest Pariah Standard. I'll never never stay at any Tune Hotels even it's free! I will inform all my friends not to stay there..... Oh wonder there are hardly any guests!!!

We stayed at Tune Hotel for 4 nights and had a very pleasant stay. We booked a room without window but got one with a window which was a nice surprise. The room itself was small but perfectly clean and modern. The bathroom too. Cozy bed, good WiFi, complimentary shampoo & soap, AC + fan and even a safe. We got fresh towels and complimentary water bottles every day. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. For the price (we paid around 16 EUR per night) it's impossible to complain about anything. 100% recommended!

Room is tidy n clean. The size of room is small but it's just nice for 1 night stay. Check in process is speedy and there is no deposit required which really save time in check in and check out. Something surprising is once 12pm sharp for check out, the electricity in the room will auto-cut off. It is πŸ‘‹ good.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel, the price is also good πŸ‘ However, if your experience is the same as mine, you'll easily skip this hotel, no matter how good the price is. 1. I woke up and went to the bathroom, there were cockroaches "walking by" the top of my toothbrush! 😱 The cockroaches were also under the bed, in the bathroom.. 2. The guest was playing Hindi music all night, and there is no phone in the room for me to call and complain. I was a little drunk so I didn't bother. 3. The checkout time is 11AM which I did not notice (I thought it is 12, so it's my fault), they turn off the electricity at 1140AM... And I checked out noon sharp. I will never be back here ever.

This hotel is pretty run down. The only reason I chose it was due to an event running next door at the New World Park. We booked 3 rooms and we believe at least 2 of them is haunted. My room had a terrible mouldy smell throughout our stay. Ventilation was pretty bad as there was no window. Bed linen was stained and filled with bed bugs. The towels condition was pretty bad and disgusting. Don't think I'll come back again.

The worst hotel room I've ever been to. Just place for local workers, not for tourists. Very small rooms, about 4sq.m., but in the description of the room it is 11!! When you open a door it almost touches the bed, which takes up almost whole the room! There is no place for put your belongings, just two small bedside tables. Window is can't be closed normal. Only 1 (one) socket in the room, and the voltage is usually very low and not stable. There are always bags of trash at the elevators zone, and from outside of the hotel you always can see clothes that are dried on the windows of the hotel. Despite all this, they have a good shower , also you can refill drinking water in a lobby. You can use a fridge, microwave and a washer in a lobby. Stuff is very responsive and friendly.

I recently stayed at a tune hotel George Town Penang and had an excellent experience. The room was clean and tidy, with all the necessary amenities provided. Despite the hotel being budget-friendly, I was surprised at the high-quality bedding and comfortable mattress, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The hotel's location was also convenient, with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions. Overall, I highly recommend this budget hotel for its outstanding value and excellent customer service. Five stars!

The best thing about this hotel is it's location. Central to just about everything. I wish the management would add a coin operated laundry facilities on the ground floor. But there is a small washing machine on the 2nd floor along with irons and ironing boards. And a refrigerator and microwave available. Huge plus. I could tell this was once a really nice property. But based on my room and overall appearance there are lots of upgrades needed and a few items in the room for convenience would be great. Here's a list of recommendations for consideration: Have one dedicated plug for electronics so guests can charge phones, cameras and other devices when the magnetic key card is not in use. One electrical socket with USB terminals. Add a luggage rack or table under the clothing rack. A way to dim the lights would be nice. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful.

Have you ever seen toilet bowl that is just 10cm away from the wall? Tune in to this hotel. Bedsheets are stained. Electrical trip even though already paid for check in. Checked out after 10mins in. Never coming back. You need to up your cleanliness and maintenance game TuneHotels. On another note: Front desk is courteous and polite. Definitely a 5star for them

I really like this hotel. It was very easy to find food. There are cube coffee, fruit seller, and Chinese food seller just right beside the hotel. Walk a bit and you'll find nasi kandar and new lane streetfood. The room was small, but it's really comfortable. They have hairdryer, and all equipments were working good. The staffs also very kind. I definitely will stay here again.

Located in a strategic location, food, durians available a few steps away from hotel. Coffee cube is just a stone throw away. Serves all types of coffee. Room is SMALL, towels, soap, toilet tissue provided. Aircond blows directly to bed, can be a bit cold. Check in, check out is smooth.

Decent place to stay for sleeping! The hotel provides you clean room, basic needs for showering and toiletries. You just need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste because the hotel does not provide it. Since I and my wife travel light, the room is quite spacious for both of us. There is no TV (which I do not mind anyway) You can travel on foot to Island Hospital or Gleneagles for 30-40 minutes. Or you can take grab which only takes about 4 mins. It is quite affordable too (around RM. 7-10 per trip) There are a few eating places nearby hotel too. You just have to walk around 4-5 mins from the hotel.

This hotel is very nice and recommended for travelers and business people. Thanks to Mr.Owen, he is the manager of this hotel. Thank you for his careful explanation, providing room videos for us to choose, and arranging the number of rooms we need for us. All the problems we face are answered and solved for us in a timely manner. . The hotel room is also very clean and comfortable.

I arrived in Penang in the afternoon and given its cheap rate and not far from komtar, I chose to book a windowless room. AC works properly. The room's floor is kinda sticky. Complete bath amenities provided and great water pressure but the bathroom has a strong acid smell. You can hear all the noises from the hallway and also from the other's room.

Very bad impression compare to Tune in KL and here..look like run down place. Worst than a budget hotel not sure how they rate this hotel at 3 plus star. We are a frequent traveller interstate and overseas and we love to stay in different places. First time a hotel without TV and also very small. Also mentioned sea view in website but the hotel is middle of a busy road. Only can view with telescope to see the sea view. Not worth of money you pay

I have been staying in Tune Penang for 14 days with Families. And most likable things about the Hotel is the Location. Easy way to fine good foods around the area and most promising is The New World Food Courtyard. About the staff they are very friendly and very helpful including the cleaning staff, maintenances staff and even night security staff. Pleasant and clean environment. Definitely a nice place to stay and still there are many things that can expend in hotel like coffee house, laundry and entertainment outlets if the Management keen to do that since The MCO is relaxed. Thanks again to the staffs for the service tended during my stay there. Price is affordable and cheap compared to other same service orientated hotel around the area.

This is my rate for this 3 star hotels. Stay at this hotel at 27-28 Nov 2021. Customer service was great. The Indian man treat me and my friends well. Very polite and fluent in Malay Language also. Overall the room was ok. Maybe the owner should spend some money to buy small tv for the room. There are no tv. The wifi is super fast. The toilet is a bit slippery when wet but clean .Water heater, shower function well. Fan and aircond function well. The bed and sheet also clean. Actually the room is very cramped and tiny. Not suitable for 4XL size people. There are 7e shop under the hotel. Keep it up. worth the price.

All the staff really polite and friendly. There is a few suggestions i want to highlight. 1. Please provide 2 card every each room like others tune hotel. 2. Room cleanliness please upgrade especially the toilet. My room the toilet bowl got yellowish seem like never brush it. The ceiling fan blade full with dust and the side table light also got a dust. 3. Please provide the iron & iron table every each floor. Its really funny you put the iron at the lobby in front the lift. Its like no privacy to hotel guest. 4. Kindly inform the hotel guests that the hotel provide parking but deposit needed. We like hell to look over the parking lot and we dont feel safety park far away from the hotel. 5. During my 2nd day stay at the hotel i didn't request for thr daily housekeeping, but when i ask the bottle of water at the reception they say its out of stock at the counter. Its doesn't fair for me.

An error happened in the booking system, which messed the check in date (long story short, the check-in date shows is one day earlier than the date I wanted, as the system reflected the date changed on booking page but not on payment page), I screenshot the webpage as evidence just in case it is needed, and called them immediately. The call was picked up quickly by a lady, when I explained the situation to her, she said they needed time to check the system, and will call back later. To be honest, I was already mentally prepare to call them back in 2 hours time, but within just half an hour, I received a call from them, and they just fixed the mistake and things are settled. I am very satisfied with their respond time and happy to see this efficiency level in malaysia's hotel industry as a customer, after some bad experiences with the local hotels! Kudos to the team.

Hi Tune Hotel Penang, Your staff are absolutely nice and welcoming. Having said that, I’m honestly disappointed with the room per se. Kindly note below: 1. Room is extremely small and definitely not for those who are claustrophobic. 2. When we paid more than RM200/- per night (2nd and 3rd May 2022) we were expecting the basics like warm water flask and basic television in the room. Which was not available.-If that is not available, please indicate it somewhere. 3. We requested a room with a window, to our dumbstruck it has a window but facing a wall. Best regards, SANAT

Check-in Process was speedy and good. No deposit required. Room The size is somewhat okay. Breakfast No breakfast buffet, but there's a food court next to the hotel with plenty of selection. Check-out Quick and hassle free. Conclusion Those driving here can park their car at New World Park as it's directly beside the hotel. There used to be a 7 Eleven shop but it's permanently closed. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. The building feels old, especially the elevator. There is no TV in the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you've got no other options.

After stay 5 night , averagely it’s quick Good , this is third time I stay in Tune, Room are clean and bright , enough space for one people. Nice location, staff is friendly , one thing I like to say after 5 nights , just tried to extend 2 more night, but the price was even expensive then other 3 stars hotel , According the tune advertising β€œ stay more pay less” , no sure how it’s work. Check out for another hotel , ever I don’t want to .
