Located smugly underneath the escalators in Terminal 4. Snacks, a relaxing area, a gaming room and other amenities rule the day. Worth looking into.

It's always a great feeling to know military personnel have our own private area to kick back and relax, while we wait for our flights. I truly love the support we get from the USO, and it's volunteers. Thank you for serving us!

WOW! This has to be one of the best USO's I've ever been to, especially when it comes to food selection. The staff is very nice, and they do everything they can to help you out.

I am fighting aggressive cancer and had a 16 hour layover. This place was a God sent! I was able to rest and sleep, have hot meals and snacks. My family was comforted knowing I was comfortable and taken care of. The staff are warm, genuine and caring. Thank you USO. I will always support and contribute to your organization.

This was a great welcoming stay. It’s in the second floor terminal 4. The staff was helpful and very very friendly. It was very spacious and kid friendly.

The USO’s location (outside of TSA security checkpoints) makes it impractical for families (or even individuals) to utilize during layovers. You have to leave the secured area of the airport and go through the hassle and sometimes hours-long lines at TSA with kids just to go to the USO and then pray you don’t miss your flight. Seriously? How stupid must the individuals who chose the location be?

As with most USO centers this one is filled with everything you could need for an enjoyable travel experience. Hours are 0800-2000 and this is probably just based on the fact it is a smaller airport with less traffic. The staff was incredible with volunteers that care about your experience and are more than willing to go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable.

Ladies running this USO were nice and courteous. They will bend over backwards to make your layover stay there a great one. The place is clean and has a large selection of drinks food and other snacks. There is a play area for the kids, computers, game systems and a large wide screen theater area. They are not 24 hrs.

This USO is always great with their service and food offerings for military members. I always consider coming to this lounge versus any other lounges in the airport. The volunteers are always very friendly.

Why would the USO be located outside the security checkpoint? If I left the secure area, I’ll need to chance the TSA lines don’t grow and cause me to lose my flight. Just doesn’t make sense.

5 stars all around. This place was fantastic! A wonderful break from the busy airport. Great snacks, but even better staff. After I left, I forgot my uniform and its bag... the volunteer staff searched far and wide throughout the airport to find me so that I could get my bag back! That were so kind and helpful. Would absolutely recommend.

What an incredible place. Been to Isis across the world and while not the biggest, maybe the best maintained and set up. I look forward to making this a regular stop in my trips through Phoenix.

I am first, very grateful for the USO and the generosity of its volunteers. If rankings and reviews must be made though, they require a critical eye rather than a grateful one. The Staff, like so many, is just wonderful. I have visited twice and both times it was with a staff that genuinely cared and looked out for us. I slept hard during my first visit but because I wake to another's presence, knew they checked on me often to make sure I was OK. The facilities is where opportunity for improvement exists. A smaller footprint they do use the space well and It's impossible to beat the Philadelphia USO but having an open ceiling so the folks on the escalator can look into the USO is kind unique and possibly a safety hazard as it's before security. The chairs are unique and do recline some, but to truly sleep, if you are on a marathon cross country trip booked only the way our kond Uncle can plan travel, would be a challenge. A small shower enabled restroom, like the LAX USO, would be nice since only Phoenix in July can make you sweat like Phoenix in July. Finally signage, as within the airport it is sparse, would be helpful to locate the USO. Surprisingly several airport employees had no idea where the USO was, even when I had gotten to the second level, so some better outreach to airport employees may also be beneficial. Other than that the USO is great and the warmth and kindness they give to traveling servicemembers is beyond description.

Probably the biggest USO I remember! Very friendly volunteers, great place to relax between flights! (worth it to go outside of security if you've got a few hours)

Super friendly staff, super resourced USO, among the best that I've had the priviledge of visiting. I had a 5 hour layover and spent most of it at this USO relaxing in their recliner room and having a small healthy meal provided by them. This USO is located on the street side of security, but worth spending time at. As far as food and beverages go, they have coffee with an array of sweetener and cream options, a soda fountain that includes powerade and bottled water and cans of soda and energy drinks in the fridge. They had hard boiled eggs, large salads, many sandwiches, string cheese and other cold item options. This USO also has great assortment of on the go snacks like sunflower seeds, jerky and many things for your sweet tooth needs.

Great staff. Lots of food selection. Handful of computers, TVs, and seating areas. Has a “home” vibe. I have Priority pass and would rather go to this USO than those VIP lounges. For planning purposes, this USO is before the security checkpoint.

Wow, what an amazing staff!!! They were so nice and accommodating. Lots of snack options, the foosball table was fun, video games to. Very clean and comfortable. Had a couple good conversations with fellow veterans who are now USO volunteers! Had a longer layover, took the kids out of the secured area to here and got to relax for a couple hours. The location of the USO makes sense to me, families could join their SM before they have to go thru security. Folks in my situation can get out and back thru security fairly easy. If you are on active status your DOD ID # should work to get you TSA precheck during the ticket purchase process; making getting thru security easier. If your retired or such, than TSA precheck is fairly inexpensive and allows you to enjoy venues like this easier. Awesome job USO!!!!!

The USO re-opened on September 8th, 2020 and the volunteers are doing a great job. Its located in terminal 4 on the 2nd floor (ticketing). There are 5 tvs for private viewing, a nice sitting area, 5 or 6 CAC enabled computer rooms, games, and a cafeteria area with great snacks, drinks, and light lunch fare. I was so happy to find an open USO right now.

Only thing it needs is a restroom/shower that doesn't require walking across the public terminal area

  • 5/5 Bennie J. 4 years ago on Google
So glad this is an option versus waiting at the gate for one's flight. Snacks & comfortable place to relax for current & former service members & their families.

Easiest to find uso that I've been to in years, and super conveniently located in the airport. And the best part is they make a darn fine cup of coffee. If you're on a layover, it's totally worth stopping in.

  • 5/5 A B. 5 years ago on Google
This USO is among one of the best I have to in the past 20 years. There is a good selection of food, drinks, and snacks here. There is a lot of things for everyone to do are past the time by. The only thing I can say bad here is you have to leave the terminal to get to the USO and then go back through TSA. The USO is for active military members or retirees and their families.

The actual amenities at the location were great. Comforting and useful. The volunteers working on this day, I am not sure about what the deal was... They felt the need to dictate television programs with 1 person watching. It was unreal!!! Sitting alone, watching something for a short bit enjoying it, the channel changes to a 50s Western show... I asked if this was done automatically or what happened? They said that they changed the programming. The volunteers did not want "that type of show" being watched... Didn't ask the veteran if they were watching the show or they would prefer watchng something else... Just take it out leave it... Don't think adults need to be censored on what is being watched... Especially when a major network that is not offensive. Are we going to get censored from CNN or FOX news because the volunteers don't want other people watching that? Not cool!

Plenty of snacks, meals, drinks, and a steady flow of coffee. All free for military personnel and their families. Plenty of seating options and seat that you can rest in for the day and even overnight. I had to spend the night on New Years Eve and the volunteers were festive and cheerful towards everyone. Very helpful and seemed to really enjoy their work.

One of the nicest and most friendly USO’s we have ever been to. We visited on Christmas Day, plenty of volunteers with big smiles and gifts for our kids. The kid’s area is clean and well stocked with fun toys. Plenty of seating options and skewing options in many couches around the lounge. Food is plentiful, a must visit if in the airport! Thank you!
