It is to be noted that the forefathers of Rabindranath were originally from Pithabhog village of Rupsha Upazila of Khulna. Later they migrated to Jorashanko in Kolkata. This three story house (used to be a tin shed) was built by the Tagore family after marriage. It has been reclaimed from illegal occupants in 1995 and later restored by the department of Archeology under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. It's a nicely maintained site which is neat and clean. The site is very accessible as the road leading to the site is in very good condition. There's a small library within the house too. If you're in Khulna consider paying a visit to this historical place of great cultural importance.
