Deserves more stars than it has... negative reviews are unfounded.. staff amazing, food good and 2 mins to beach. Views from roof... unbeaten, its the tallest hotel in town... Food is great if you're not picky. Fresh mussels, crevattes, sticky bbq ribs, veal steak etc.. the usual fare but for the price, should have more than 5 stars, same with the staff. Location had a single flaw which was the slope that made it difficult for the bad walkers or pushchair... so no prob really

The service here was shocking the staff were so rude and not very accommodating! Food was absolutely disgusting and very much the same everyday. There was a lovely English lady called Kay who made the experience a lot nicer. The surroundings were great, but this hotel was awful and we will definitely not be going back there.

First of all if you've booked through love holidays the rooms are not as they say the photos and only photos we were shown were modern rooms. Once we arrived we had a beautiful view before we enter the room however once we entered the room the rooms were outdated brown furniture first room had the vibe someone had died in there! However the beds are quite comfy to sleep on. Despite the room decor the room was very spacious on the 11th floor with an amazing view. The food was only good during the morning and dinner time but was the same food over and over again nothing new the food at night time wasn't good at all we had to go out for food every night even tho we had all inclusive. The women at the bar didn't get her name was absolutely amazing always a warm welcome once entering the food area. Although one of the staff (red ish hair) looked us girls up and down like we were nothing! The rooms just need an update they have so much potential as well as the whole hotel, the pool was amazing. There was no entertainment which would of been so much better even just some songs around the pool would of been brill. The hotel was walking distance to everything other than the water park but was only a €5 taxi for four of us girls. I didn't mind my stay at all. Just not suitable for family's as there's no entertainment.

The rooms are really dated. Beds and pillows like bricks and have to pay to watch tv. Not very clean and welcoming. The balcony was best part of the room. Lighting was terrible aswell but for a cheap week was fine. Lifts are tiny and take forever to come and if 4 people in there u csnt fit in. The pool area is nice but the beds are just plastic really could have done with a mattress as not comfortable especially after you are sore from the hard beds in the room. Staff are lovely and i mean really really nice. From reception to the bar to cleaners everyone is friendly and helpfull. Food is basic and not a lot of choice but fresh salad bar each meal and i think 7 main meal options at other times. I did get pork in a sauce one afternoon and the meat was raw not a little but completly raw. I didnt complain just left it but i did see the waiter shout over the cook and show them. I didnt want to make a issue so never said anything but did put be off a little. If i was here 2 weeks i would not have ate there as pork most days with hot dog and burger and chips. Salad was the best. Bar and drinks were great no issues and Alex on the bar of a an evening was lovely really friendly and helpfull with information about the local area. Also the lady at reception in the blazer was lovely i think she was the manager she always took time out to speak with you and was genuine. The shop is well stocked but older guy on till and lad stocking shelves would shout to each other while serving you and laugh and made you feel like they were taking the mick out you some time. Would i go back No probs not it was a cheap hotel but after all the extras with bags seats transfers i should have booked with TUI for a better hotel. Live and learn still enjoyed it and still had fun but wouldnt go back

Run down, food awful. Everything was at extra cost from kettle, hairdryer even had a slot for the tv. Had to pay for cushions for sun longers. We where all inclusive and had to pay a fortune to go out daily.

I must admit my first impression wasn't too good and the online reviews are poor,BUT don't read them, the food is pretty good for buffet food, the local drinks were good. Now the staff are fantastic and really made the holiday!!! So forget the reviews just come and enjoy yourself

We've had a fantastic time here. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the beach and a short walk to other amenities (Yambo centre is about 20 mins so a little further). The hotel is old, the rooms are very basic, but they're clean and comfortable. The food is OK, we found breakfast and lunch the best and chose to eat out at dinner if we didn't see anything we liked the look of, there's lots of restaurants close by to choose from. The staff are excellent, very, very friendly. Drinks in the all inclusive are decent and plentiful. Rooms are cleaned daily. We paid next to nothing for this holiday and having read previous reviews were a little dubious, but all in all this place is most, definitely value for money. Be prepared to pay a deposit for things though, €20 immediately, €10 for the safe, 50c per day for the cushions for the sun loungers (which you keep in your room if you pay for the week). I'd youbwant luxury then this isn't for you, if you like cheap and cheerful then it is. It's not geared up to entertain kids, so as long as your kids are happy in the pool that's fine, if they need entertainment they won't get it.

Not a bad hotel, the food was the same and only changed a couple of dishes but other then that food was fresh, everything was clean. Staff are friendly and it’s right by the beach. Pools nice too not too big not too small. Beds were very comfy. We had 2 single beds and when we came back the cleaners had but then together to make a double bed. Hot showers fresh towels.

Had a great stay there! I got a very spacious and great refurbished apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, nice living room with kitchen and nice balcony with sea views. This hotel deserves more stars. The food was nice, the location good. And best of all you get a entire apartment with fully functional kitchen. Making it really feel like a home instead of a regular hotel room. I’ve been in 4-star hotels in my own country and that hotel was not even coming close to this one.. I will definitely come back here🥰

It was my first time in Gran Canaria and I stayed at Hotel Corona Roja for 5 days. To be very honest, for a 2-star hotel, this hotel is actually very amazing. The food was really good (i.e. both breakfast and dinner) and the environment was really lovely. The staff were also really kind and friendly. It is also located close to a lot of things e.g. supermarkets, beach, restaurants, etc. I would say the hotel surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend.

Special thanks to Anna Maria for making our stay much better thanks to her great service and overall other staff members. I’m sure I will visit this hotel again as it didn’t disappoint me one bit. Thanks again Anna hope you don’t forget us as we would love to see you again.

If one from the beginning is fair & expects just 2star hotel for cheap price - satisfaction is guarranteed. Location from the hotel is perfect. Just few steps from tbe beach & boulevard, shops, supermarkets, restaurants. I advice to book a Deluxe Room or apartment because those cost a little more but are renewed & modern. Otherwise a room is very very very undated. The best is to book a stay with a breakfast. A breakfast is very good. Lunch & dinner are not so attractive however there is always smth tasty to be found. There are also always fruits available. So if your budget is small then it has sense to book all in. A bus stop to all the other places in Gran Canaria is in 2minutes walk distance (stop Parque Tropical). So in 30 min for 4 euro you reach rhe airport, in 45 min for 6 euro Las Palmas & etc. Once more: with fair expectations it is a good hotel. If one is more used to a little luxe during holidays should definatevely not book this hotel. Your wallet is deciding your holidays. For us plenty of sun in the winter & a perfect balcony & close beach location was a matter of happiness. Happy Holidays!

Was really happy with my stay here for 1 week bed and breakfast included. But if wanted to have dinner €10 euro for all you can eat and plenty options of different food. Would come back again also the staff are very friendly and rooms cleaned daily *****

The view from our hotel room was amazing its like a 2 minute walk the beach a 5 minute walk to the restaurants. The room was okay it had two rooms and a kitchen. We had a view of the sea from our balcony. It was relatively clean, the beds were made everyday but the room is cleaned every 5 days. The food was bad but you could make do. The bar staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. However the reception staff were rude and dismissive. We had to go the hotel across the street to get them to book us a cap to the waterpark. Overall, I would say you get what you pay for its a cheap 2 start hotel. The reviews make it seems like this hotel is a lot worse then what it actually is. If you want all the stuff that come with a 4 star hotel you have to actually pay for a 4 star hotel. If you want a cheap holidays that close to the beach that what your paying for.

We have recently returned from this hotel where we stayed for 31 nights in January. We have had an amazing time here, although I had my doubts after reading the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised after upgrading to a 2 bedroom apartment on the 14th floor with the most amazing views of the sea from our balcony. Loads of space, no rush for sun beds and within walking distance to the beach, jumbo centre, pedros bar and flannigans Irish bar, not to be missed. A bit run down, but they are doing there best and the staff are very friendly, and cleaners are great. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be coming back Caron & Mark Nelson

We visited February 22 and not many good points but hope the below helps. Most staff are very rude and are only interested in non all inclusive people or from Spain even though all inclusive people have already paid. One male bar person totally ignores you, rude when finally serving you and starts to switch all the lights off early to get you out early. Receptionist Anatolia has the people skills of a wasp and on final day will hunt you down around the hotel with a pair of scissors to cut off your all inc band even before the 12 noon check out. Food is very poor only good part was breakfast when they replenished it. Bacon, sausage, egg, fruit etc but coffee from machine is vile. Evening meals ok and chips with everything. If you are booking all inclusive only use for the drinks. Drinks are as normal all inclusive with cheap local brands and you have to pay for branded. Room we had was 2 bedroom which was ok and only a shower. Furniture very old and TV on a coin meter 1€ per hour. Room had cooker & fridge but little cooking items. Pool was ok and plenty of lounges and you can hire lounger cushions €3 a week. There is no indoor pool as it is now covered up. No children’s entertainment at all, not even music around the pool. They have a spoof singer twice weekly 8pm-10pm that’s if you last 2 hours. Pool tables are 2€ a game but watch as the lovely Anatolia will complain you are hitting the balls too hard !! Tennis court and football area is €20 per hour, yes €20 and they don’t provide any rackets etc Overall if you have booked this hotel and have the option to change please do, especially if you have children they will be bored stiff. I would say you pay for what you get but in this hostel you don’t get much which is very sad for area it is in. Again if can change hotels please do, you will thank me.

Really bad experience. Food was always the same, swimming pools were really cold, you had to pay for Wi-Fi which wasn’t even working. The staff at the reception were really rude and unfriendly and the gym that is located in the hotel is really old and rusty you couldn’t use it. There was no air conditioner in any room I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Good location, the bar/kitchen staff were amazing. The receptionists, however, are awful. I wouldn't go back here simply because of them! Utterly disgraceful service, they should be dismissed.

Arrived for 2 week visit all inclusive, due to health issues requested ground floor apartment and was given a room on the 6th floor as the sofa bed was so thin to be unusable, we asked to be moved and at a cost of €10 a night we were moved to a 2 room apartment on the 12th floor. Both apartments were very dated looked like they hadn't been touched since the 80s but we decided to make do. on to the food it was terrible we ate out for at least 90% of our meals. We have been told every where we went the food is well known to be bad. On the good side the view was fantastic the hotel was clean and tidy and the majority of staff were lovely. We would definitely NOT be going back

Read @greetings from Holland review. Yes outdated, if self-catering prepare for camp style cooking, gas hob and oven but spartan cookware. Staff were great, food was good and varied, enjoyable. Pool was lovely, shaded at 4pm. Great location for buses and beaches galore

A bit old hotel, and it starts to show it. Staff was friendly and our room was nice and clean. Elevators are small, so if you are claustrophopic, you need to stay at the lower levels. But worth the price, would go there again.

I’m currently staying here in room 1213 all the photos on this website are catfish photos the hotel is awful food awful it’s not all inclusive as you have to pay for ya tv and wifi everything rooms don’t get cleaned 5 times week and towels don’t get changed at all! Been the worst stay I’ve ever had sofas have burns in rooms falling apart and it’s not just our room we currently have 3 rooms as a group every room is awful! I highly recommend finding somewhere else!!! Also when you pay for the tv it don’t even work comes up with enter pin you ask the reception they don’t wanna fix it or nothing won’t help absolute disgrace of a company and a way of living if I could upload around of photos I’ve sent to love holidays use would agree!

Rubbish experience. Unfriendly staff, horrible food, no air conditioning, dated furniture, and very loud as located beside a motorway. The swimming pool is cold, small, and boring. Would definitely not go to that hotel, stay away, go to some other neighboring hotel. Internet only available for free in the reception area, otherwise it is a paid service, not even by the pool or restaurant. The food lacks allergen advice or any mention of ingredients, and the cleaning Is quick and lazy. Please deny a first and second floor room as these are in extremely open areas and with the roasting temperatures, it is inevitable that Windows and the balcony door need to be open. It is at least Close to the beach and bus terminal and taxi terminal.

Food not nice room is a joke paid an extra £10 a night for an executive suite we had a shower curtain so when taking a shower the bathroom floor was like a swimming pool no hairdryer had to pay 1 euro for 55 mins of tele and just wasn't the cleanest of bedding either.

  • 3/5 Amy S. 2 years ago on Google
It was okay. The pool was nice and the food was good most evenings. The rooms, however, are dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint. In our room the shower curtain was stained and had holes in, buy the rest of the room was clean.

Budget accommodation. Clean and comfortable beds and good size apartment. Nice balcony overlooking the street. Kiosk shop on the premises also but only opens at certain times. Hot drinks vending machine available 24hours. Small hairdresser on site also. Reception staff nice and friendly. Restaurant staff nice and friendly also. Coin operated television €1 per hour. No kettle toaster or microwave. Kettle has to be rented in the kiosk but in the 5 days I was there the kiosk was closed most of the time. Supermarket next door for all your essentials.
