This was a paradise. Since many years nobody hunted in this area. I found very easy, Tapir, crab eating raccoon, crab eating Fox, Coati, Armadillo, three species deers, two species turtles, many many bird species -king vulture-, big leguane, few species lizzards, many frogs, many big spiders, and one time I saw also a Jaguarindi. Really one of the best places in Pantanal. Puma and Jaguar prints was also there, but I did not find these animals. The owner, Luiz Campos, knows the wildlive very good and he knows also many species. The accommodation was clean with two beds and ok and the food was fantastic. The lady cooked really good. The street until this lodge is good. You can drive it with a normal car. We stayed there in February 2021.

This is a small lodge which is somewhat more basic than the other hotels we stayed at in the area. But it has everything you need for a night or two and the variety of wildlife that you're likely to spot is excellent. It would be good if they upgraded the vehicle bridges which feel quite rickety. There is a tall viewing platform which can be walked to from the lodge, with fantastic views to give you a different perspective of the area.

We stayed at the this lodge with our guide, Rizardo Silva, and it was excellent. The owner Luiz is friendly. His staff gives great service. Free filtered water, and the food was plentiful. Great wildlife to be seen. Would recommend it.

I spent with my family 2 nights at Pouso Alegre. Was really great, rooms were spacious and clean, food was amazing and staff very friendly. Luiz, the owner is the man! Always were helpful, informative and had this friendly attitude, which we really appreciate. Is a great place to see all kinds of birds, also you can spot different kinds of animals going through or around pousada. Really recommend! Would love to come back :)

Great food all made in house. A lot of wild animals to see around the pousada. The owner Luis is very kind and always ready to help. One of his guide Fabio is also great for those with children as we were. Rooms are simple but very cleaned.

This is a lodge accommodating wildlife tourists. Rooms are basic but provide everything you need and food is excellent. Its real value is its location - great for birds and mammals. Recommended !!

I loved everything about it. First and foremost, the abundance of wildlife. You walk out of your room and meet a tapir or wild boar or anteater on your 20 meter walk to diner. Walj another few meters and you will see a crab eating fox, a tucan or a rhea, a monkey or stork. And when you roam the grounds and drive the trails each day brings different treasures. Just as important is, the knowledgeable and extremely helpful and friendly owner Louis, the friendly staff, the room with it's comfortable and firm bed and nice hot shower. I would love to visit again!

Rooms are basic, but very clean. Food is very good, especially with the kiwi in the salad and eggplant in the lasagna. Attention to small details: Filling potholes on the road, underdoor barrier to keep out the ground dwellers...
