Tour du Cordier

Historical landmark

👍👍 The Cordier tower, commonly called the “Porte de Paris”, is one of the remains of the 12th century enclosure desired by Eleanor of Aquitaine (note that it is classified as a historic monument). The intersection has recently been redone. Take advantage of a stop at the lights to admire it!

Hello, I love this place, it's magnificent, it's really lively... it's even calm and relaxing... it's like a vacation, I can't wait to come... see you very soon, I look forward to it... have a great day ..

To get to the foot of the tower which serves as a roundabout with traffic lights, you still have to be careful due to the traffic. Apart from that, it is an interesting historical vestige of the city of Poitiers when reading the description available at the foot of the Tower.

Emblematic place of the pictaves, unknown under this name but well known as "gate of Paris", the absolute landmark in the city. Given the number of roads leading there, specialists still do not understand why traffic remains fluid.

Emblematic roundabout of the city of Poitiers serving different directions. The final positioning of the red lights every 5 meters remains a real headache...

All it takes is a little laying and it's a hassle at the roundabout of hiring or debauchery, it's not even worth going through there

👍👍 We were passing thru on our way to Bordeaux. This is in the old section of Poitier & we found it a charming area. As an American I stop at all the Statue of Liberties in France (there are 35 total).

A visiter !

👍👍 An exceptional monument for a journey through time of almost 1500 years. It is not often accessible, you must inquire at the Sainte-Croix museum to visit it. Heritage days and archeology days are good opportunities. The Sainte-Croix museum presents, in its archeology area, some interesting elements...
