The food was delicious. We ordered medium spicy. I wish we would have gone with hot. Nevertheless it was fantastic. The honey wine was refreshing and delightful. I had an espresso shot as well, which hit the spot. I would highly recommend this place. It's great for intimate conversation and I especially like the social aspect of enjoying sharing your meal, which to me is more personable.

Absolutely delicious!! E’Njoni is a beautiful family run restaurant, the ambiance is wonderful and warm! The service was excellent! We loved the flavorful tea and the red lentil was our favorite dip! Highly recommend giving this place a try!

One of the only dine-in Ethiopian restaurants, post-Covid, that we could find. Nice selection of offerings. The two stand-outs, out of the 5 vegetables and 2 meats, were the Kitfo and the yam dish (Siquar dinish). The atmosphere is pleasant, with nice artwork on the walls and music in the background. Three of us finished the platter with the delicious accompaniment of Tej. (honey wine). We'll return!

Truly delicious food. Best plate I've had in a while. Bite of the night was the peanut yam soup with the injera. Be sure to order extra sides of their condiment sauces, it's worth it.

We've been to many Ethiopian restaurants, but we were unimpressed by the food. Maybe we are just used to more Americanized versions of Ethiopian, but we had a lot left over and none of us wanted to take any home, so that says something. We had the 10 combo veggie platter, the lamb tips, fish tips, and peanut yam soup (which tasted like it'd make a great dipping sauce for a skewer). We would try somewhere else next time.

Tasty Ethiopian fare. Wide range of spiciness options from savory foods to hot and spicy dishes. We ordered multiple dishes to share, which ranged from wonderful to average. Cozy and modest decor and pleasant service.

I ordered a vegetarian plate and all five were perfection, as was the injera. The bread was fresh and tender, and all the veggies were well seasoned and distinct. I’ve never had bad Ethiopian food, but this was among the best.

Incredible Ethiopian Food at expected prices. Huge servings and authentic flavors If you've never had Ethiopian - this is a very laid back place to expand your tastes. Let them know you are new and you'll get a special experience.

Such a good experience about the food and the service. This is my first time eating Ethiopian food and the ingero totally matched the spices in the vegetables.

Owner was so nice and very helpful. If you’re habesha they are from Eritrea. The food was great. I got some shiro w/ yemissir wot, ayib and salatta. I asked for tella they did not have but they gave me some super great tasting tej, super sweet. Perfect. This food tasted like home. Only comes with one injera (Same as the platter) so make sure you order 1 extra injera. But this restaurant is worth going and they’re open the latest in Portland. Great art on the wall s well as a bar area.

I got the kikil (goat stew) and a St George to drink. I showed up right as they were opening, but despite interrupting their prep they were very friendly and attentive. The stew was nice, the meat well seasoned and tender. Will definitely be back with my wife to try a larger variety of things next time!

I love Ethiopian food. I ordered the veggie combo and an additional side of Injera bread. The food is tasty, but I expected it to be a bit more spicy from the description. Usually, I have a habit of ordering hot water and when I ordered that they served me Lukewarm water. Place seems to be kept cold and it does cool down the food faster.

10 out of 10 would recommend this hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing and the owner is so nice. Definitely feel like you're a friend eating at your friends house.

We stood for 10 minutes at the counter waiting to be seated. Noone even came out. The cooks certainly saw everyone waiting. Suggest going somewhere else. No servers on a Friday night. We drove 30 minutes to come here.

The food is great, excellent choices for vegetarians and vegans. The service left a bit to be desired. The place was practically empty when we went, yet we waited too long for our food. What service we did get was nice and friendly though.

Been to E’Njoni Cafe a few times. Their veggie plates are a bit richer in texture than other spots in town, so really good for cold weather nourishment. We celebrated our kiddo’s birthday at E’Njoni last night. The host helped us ring in the cheer with a techno-flavor birthday tune. We had a blast! Will definitely be back.
