POOL DAY Went to the pool today around 6pm RULES Most of the rules are a load of rubbish and no one follows them even the life guard - Always watch your own kids because the life guard doesn’t watch the pool he sits on his phone for his whole shift and doesn’t enforce any of the rules. The pool bar for 18+ is nice but the (18+ rules) aren’t enforced - no one is asked for their ID and you will get a random bunch of kids jumping behind you or spraying you with water guns. The life guard will happily sit there and let it happen, however as soon as you mention it to the lovely bar staff they get the manager over and he does the life guards job for him and kicks all the kids out Me and my partner paid £2300 for this hotel and I have to say so far it hasn’t been worth it all the waiting staff are lovely and the bar staff are kind and amazing. When you arrive on your first day they will tell you that the menu is a buffet breakfast and buffet tea and a set menu for lunch with lots of lovely thing to pay for- then after a few days some more tourists with come and they will decide to change it all and make it buffet for all meals with not a lot of thing to pick from - PS the set menu was beautiful very good food - worth paying the £2300 for. Another good thing tho is that your room is very clean and gets cleaned daily. If they had a decent life guard. This hotel would thrive!!!

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The rooms were clean and modern but the bathroom was too small and the shower head needs to be fixed, the towels and bed sheets had a weird smell and some were stained. The elevator was slow and it kept bringing us to the wrong floor. We were dissapointed by the food since it wasn't enjoyable because of the taste it had and the lack of variety. The juice/water from the dispenser had a weird taste. We've also noticed that there was a cockroach in our balcony and downstairs near the pool. The beach was about 7 minutes away by foot which wasn't a problem at all but sadly there weren't any other activities too close to the hotel except of some shops and bars. Overall I can say that our experience was alright but it could've been better.

Fully refurbished hotel, 10 times better than expected after reading dated reviews. Night reception guy very freindly unlike day time female staff which are very grumpy and helpful otherwise top notch hotel.

Absolutely no complaints. All satisfactory and pleasant. Nice breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

The place was a bit of a letdown as the night was hard to sleep due to the disco bars and the karaoke bars where hundreds of drunk poms were trying their luck at the unofficial UK has got (none) talent! Awful! It didn't help as the reception stuffed up our paid breakfast and failed to do anything about it. Never again!

My disabled wife and myself along with 4 friends have just returned today from a 2 week stay at the Kapetanios today and couldn’t have asked for better. We were in an adapted room with walk in shower and was everything we could have hoped for and more. The room was spacious and bright and spotlessly clean as was every other part of the hotel. All the members of staff we encountered were polite and very helpful, especially Dianna who always seemed to go the extra mile, the staff is a credit to the hotel. The pool and seating area were kept as clean as the rest of the hotel, we have been in 8 different hotels within protaras but have found a jewel in the crown with this on, thank you for a lovely vacation

Been coming to protaras for 20 years, never have i had such a bad hotel as this. Im70 years old, disabled and they stuck me overlooking the noisiest bar with the most rubbish group you’ve ever heard. It gets worse, not cleaned the room for two days, bloke on reception said why didn’t you say, been out all day thats why. Because im travelling solo they dont think you matter, if i was with my misses we would be treated better. Got hold of credit card company, this lot can whistle for their money. Do not bother staying here ever. Rubbish!

I have just returned from a two week stay at Kapetanios Bay hotel Protaras. At the beginning of my holiday I suffered a fall whereby I was taken to hospital X-rays showed no break but my leg was unable to weightbare. On my return to the hotel I was met by the night time receptionist " Eugene" who very patiently had to carry me to the room as I was in so much pain. This process took 1 hour. Eugene went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. " Eugene is a giant among men. After this ALL the staff were very good to me from the cleaners to the pool guys. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent something for every taste. The hotel is very clean. My wife loved the pools. The bar prices were favourable. The disabled room given to us was also spacious. But there is one downside to the hotel which is the bar next door. As our room was at the front of the hotel the noise level coming from the bar is so bad you can here it loudly in your room so we were unable to sleep so after two weeks it became a nightmare. I will book there again within the blink of an eye but you need to request a pool view. Eugene a GIANT among men.

The rooms weren't very good (we are a family of 5), they were small and and the kids' bed weren't comfortable nor practical. The toilet was really small and the shower kept overfloadlting all the time, despite how hard you try not to. The breakfast was so terrible, that we had to make our own sandwiches each day. The only good thing about the hotel was the pool and the outdoor area, it had a nice scenery and the bar service was sufficient. Not a pleasant experience.

Fantastic hotel and location. Lovely friendly staff ,gorgeous pool area with comfy sunbeds very well maintained pool clean and well looked after plant 🪴 area's. Food and the pool bar are very nice and with drinks reasonably priced. The only reason I gave rooms 4 stars was only because the bathroom was very small to what I've previously experienced in other hotels and the bed was good but too hard for my dodgy back and hip .But on mentioning this to the lovely receptionist on my 2nd morning into my holiday, a single camp bed topper was put on my bed and my further nights sleep were blissful. Thank you everyone, fantastic holiday. Already booked again for next Yr I'm that happy with my stay .Also must add the nice extra touch was no fee for the in room safe or fridge which I've previously encountered at other hotels, a nice surprise.

Great for a vacation with kids - although located right next to a concert hall with music playing in the middle of the night.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, superior rooms all clean with daily room cleaning service - never had a issue in the 2 times we have stayed. Breakfast is also nice and have plenty of choice from pastries, fruit, cakes and traditional breakfast food/cereal.

Sadly my experience of this hotel was not good. Up at 6am every morning for a sunbed because the locals were allowed in to take over the place. The rules about the pool were never taken seriously, only by the lifeguard who told a young English girl to get out of the pool because she was playing ball, however it was OK for the locals to play ball, jump in all the time and soak people. At one time 2 boys were standing on another boys shoulders and they bombed the rest of the people in the pool, I considered that to be extremely dangerous especially when there were young children on the pool. Management couldn't care less, just laughed and shrugged their shoulders when told. The 18 only pool was also a joke, the kids took that over aswell. We were told by our rep to go at the weekend because it is Bank Holiday in Cyprus and the locals will take over the place completely, why should we when we paid a lot of money to stay there To be honest I could go on a lot more but, I'm trying to forget what a horrible hotel it was.

Where do I start? Positives- • Lovely Hotel, we had a family room which was very spacious (balcony is very narrow) • Nice decor • Good Location • Lovely pool bar staff (and they bring your drinks to your beds) • New sunbeds with mattresses are comfy • Sfinx bar outside the hotel has great entertainment Negatives- • Family room- pull out sofa just had a rubbed up mattress topper on • It's a free local pool (poor do when you've paid more than it's should be) • Lifeguard is as much us as a chocolate fireguard (although in my eyes you should watch your kids yourself) • FOOD- well we were full board (breakfast, lunch & evening meals) Breakfast- was hmm OK I suppose, what would have been nice if they did sliced fruit instead of tins of fruit cocktail that was little pieces floating in a bowl of juice. Lunch- you never knew whether you were getting buffet or set menu. Buffet food was better than set menu believe it or not. Set menu was hit and miss, some days for example the chicken kebab was that dry you couldn't cut it. Then another day it was edible. Evening- very small selection, either under cooked or over cooked. Nothing child friendly! When spoken to the rep she said that there would be such thing as chicken nuggets or fish fingers (could be crab claws too) there wasn't even that most nights. We asked a kitchen staff member about chips to which she said "they were not fast food". We ended up having to eat out 10 nights out of the 12 of been there. Not impressed again, having paid over the odds for the holiday there. • Laudry- Bedding was marked and wasn't changed much in the 12 nights we stayed Towels were miss coloured, stained and rough. • Cleaner left our room door WIDE OPEN. She entered when we left for breakfast at around 9am, when I returned to get my child dry swimwear to go for lunch at 1pm I found our door wide open and a towel had fallen from the rail into the toilet. When we informed the receptionist about this, he just said that he would tell the cleaner that it was not acceptable and needed to be more careful in the future. When we said that we were not happy about other things in this hotel he brushed it off and continued to repeat himself about telling the cleaners to be more careful. Said nothing about the towel dropped in the toilet and said towel was still in the towel at 5.30 when we returned to our room (rather than sending someone to recover the towel and replace it with a clean one) • Bar staff The bald one at the pool bar looked at you in disgusted yet was very happy to help locals. I asked a young girl if they could please turn the music down as it was that loud poolside and at the pool bar that you couldn't even hear yourself speak and she told the bald guy I had asked for it to be turned down.... my god anyone would think I had thrown a bag of poo at him or something, the disgust on his face was extremely unwelcoming. • Pool Area Lovely pool was just taken over by locals. Adults only pool- full of local children that the life guard only kicked out when he could be bothered. Was NOT cleaned every day, to the point that on our last 2 days we refused to get in it was that vile. You couldn't even see the floor or stairs (I will attach a picture) Round the pool was not cleaned daily either. • Not a single British child there for my daughter to befriend NEVER STAYED IN A HOTEL IN ALL MY LIFE WHERE I HAVE NOT FELT WELCOME. Would not recommend nor would I ever return here myself. Absolutely gutted at the amount spent to stay here

Wonderful 3-star hotel. Excellent service, dinner is tasty with a big variety. The staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are renovated and the location is very good on the strip of Protaras. Yianna Marie beach is accessible within 5 minutes of walk. You can enjoy a good coffee at Mikel which is right next to the entrance of the hotel. We recommend it with no hesitation. It is a very good option vfm.

Kapetanios is centrally located on the top of Protaras strip... This a big plus for tourists who dont hav a car and can walk to any place in the strip... Another pluses are the nice views around and the breakfast... But the area is noisy from nearby bars you have to close doors to minize the noise... The rooms, the balcony and toilette very small... Kapetanios is ideal for those who want a hotel in Protaras strip...
