We don't have mcdonalds that often but as a treat for the kids we decided to get a mcdonalds breakfast. We rarely go but EVERY TIME we do....EVERY TIME without fail we would have something missing from our order. Sometimes we would spot it before leaving but on some occasions we don't find out till we get home. Today was such a day. We ordered 3 x sausage and pancakes..with some other bits. My husband who ordered via drive through had a quick look in the bag and everything seemed in order so left to drive home. We were so disappointed when we opened up the pancakes for the kids. 2 were missing the sausages. Do we really have to open up eveything bit of packaging now to check that everything inside the packaging is correct too now?! No quality control. This is suppose to be a treat. We paid the full amount and expect to get what we paid fornin full! Yes we could ask for a refund or go back to get a replacement but we do not live near so each time we (esp the children) are left very disappointed. If you want a mcdonalds and would use the drive through I definitely recommend using a different branch. We have tried to give this branch a chance time and time again..I think they've had enough chances. In a time when we have a cost of living crisis when people are willing to spend their hard earned money for a treat to help businesses... businesses should be more careful to give their customers what they asked for. Please be better Mcdonalds in Horley road.

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN. Update: this place is still as terrible as ever. Today my food was handed to someone else, then given to me after they had partially unwrapped it and handed it back to the god awful people that run this hole of a place. It went in the bin and I am never going to use this place again. Sausage, Egg & Cheese bagel missing Sausage, Egg & Cheese. So just a plain bagel. This beats the time they gave me 4 hot nuggets and 5 cold manky ones. Regularly get drinks with no ice in. It’s just the worst McDonald’s in the area. I drive to Gatwick or Crawley instead now. Some of the staff in this place are great. The guy who fixed this problem for me was one of the good ones. The management is useless. It wasn’t even peak time when I ordered. There were plenty of opportunities to spot this problem, not least the final check at window three where my bagel would have been suspiciously and obviously a bit on the thin side. What can you do? They are McDonald’s, they are everywhere. I doubt this review will effect anything at all. If you use this particular store, check your order thoroughly before driving away from window 2/3 or leaving the counter. There’s no need to be rude to the front line staff, save your ire for management who are paid very well for often shoddy work.

Possibly one of the worse Mcdonalds around. Poor quality cold food. For once could you please get the order correct, as what's the point of a drive through when you consistently get the order wrong, which means having to come inside for you to rectify it. Since the refurb the quality of food/service has declined rapidly.

Possibly the worst McDonald’s I have visited. Have been here a few times previously and have received slow service in the drive thru every time, but visited again yesterday evening as hoping they had improved things…but no. Visited the drive thru at about 11:30pm and there was only a handful of cars…but we were waiting a total of nearly 40 minutes for 1 burger and drink. What makes it worse is that when we finally got through and paid for the order there was 1 car in front waiting at the window for their food-and were kept waiting for 10 minutes! Having worked in a fast food drive thru store myself previously I appreciate things can be slow when it’s busy…but not when it’s quiet! This is really ridiculous and the wait times need improving or there needs more staff on shifts so things run at a better pace.

Food cold, over charged me, got home and they had left 2 meals out. £38 for rubbish, avoid like the plague, totally disgusting, 3rd time it's the happened. The duty manager when I drive back rectified the food, on getting home the second time it was all stone cold. Seriously spend your money somewhere else. Horrible

Good service, but when we got home part of our order was wrong, and we were over charged. Tried calling but no one picking up. Pointless having two order points if you get it wrong when bagging. Also hair in the burger (ordered Double cheese, no hair). I presume the car behind ordered and also has our Vanilla milkshake as we had Chocolate. Wrap and Big Mac were spot on.

We got McDonald's yesterday and food was disgusting and cold and when you order a kids meals and what was put in was just chips no chicken nuggets. Whoever is in charge should be keeping an eye as this wouldn't of happened. When my partner walked in all he could see that everyone was just chatting so you can't be to busy to mess up a simple order

I recently visited the McDonald's restaurant in Earlswood and found it to be a pleasant dining experience. While it doesn't differ significantly from other McDonald's restaurants in the region, it has received some recent improvements that enhance the overall atmosphere. One aspect that stood out to me was the good family atmosphere inside the restaurant. It provided a welcoming environment for families and individuals alike. The staff members were consistently nice and attentive during all of my visits, whether I was dining inside or using the drive-in service. Their friendly and efficient service added to the positive experience. However, I cannot give this McDonald's (or any other in England) a five-star rating due to the lack of options and seasonal changes in the menu. Compared to McDonald's in other European countries, the offerings in England remain quite similar to the original menu. As someone with a European perspective, I'm accustomed to seeing different types of breads, soups, and other variations on the menu. It's a pity that such variety is not as common in England. Nevertheless, I did find it interesting that in Scotland it offers some of these variations, especially for breakfast. In conclusion, the McDonald's in Earlswood is a decent restaurant with a good family atmosphere and friendly staff. While it falls short in terms of menu variety compared to other European countries, it provides a consistent and enjoyable McDonald's experience.

So went through the drive through for my first big Mac meal in over a year. When I opened the bag it was like a mini kids meal. I'm sure it used to be a lot bigger than this. Had to go to the chippy shop up the road to fill up after my mcminisnack. And have they stopped supplying straws now ! And it would be nice if the food was hot.

Great service and kept clean. Unusually this is a conversion from an existing building. Very poor acoustics. Like being in a swimming pool, so incredibly noisy. Lovely outdoor seating. The drive thru is very slow

Just been to the drive thru here. Absolutely shocking, placed order drove to collection window only to wait 5 mins, which is fine if busy, but staff were chatting, then decided it was ok to shout out the drive thru window to talk to some bloke on a moped and then thought it would be ok if the shift manager/supervisor did exactly the same thing! Disgusting service irrelevant if coming to the end of shift! Avoid this place

During my recent visit to McDonald's while visiting family, I decided to stop by for a refreshing drink. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's cleanliness and the distinctive decor, setting it apart from other McDonald's locations I've been to across the country. Despite the quiet atmosphere, the wait wasn't long at all. The attentive service and my order left me thoroughly satisfied. This experience has definitely set a new standard for my future McDonald's visits.

If you have been to one maccys you have been to them all. However this one has recently been renovated much cleaner in the seating area than I remember... Difficult to leave the parking area during busy period when the drive through is busy since it snakes through carpark. Love a big tasty with bacon

Maybe the worst McDonald's I've ever used, they closed for 3 months over the summer for a refit, It's now aimed at online ordering, delivery service etc. The site itself is much too small for the number of people who use it. A wait of 20 minutes is normal. Then they get your order wrong. You place an order online, arrive see 20 cars in the drive thru queue; no spaces to park and a massive queue inside. Don't bother.

Trip on a midday weekday busy inside but managed to get a table. Ordered on the app and got the food delivered to our table. Very quick and easy process. Parking was limited and busy around the drive thro. Lots of people moving in and out but building and area has been done up nicely since refurbished.

OK McDonald's. Convenient location with a lot of parking nearby although often very busy at peak times. Food can be slow due to the drive through and delivery orders. On the plus side there aren't many places that are so cheap, and much better since you can order / customise on the screens.

Interesting building from the outside but your typical Mc. Donald's experience inside. Lots of self ordering machines and table service provided here which is always good to see. Lots of seating - although all very much the same - no booths, or comfy seats.

I was greeted with a smile as I entered and was advised and helped to place my order via the app on my phone. The food was as expected from McDonalds except for the festive pie, which was overly dry and as not as good as their apple pies. Also the hot chocolate was too watery and not much chocolate flavour Overall, my experience was good, and the customer service was excellent. The entrance is on the opposite side to the drive-through, and you have to cross the carpark to get to it, so care must be taken if coming from the North by foot. Otherwise a good place to go

Sunday morning awful service. Had to collect my own table number, food and drinks brought without stirrers or napkins, seviette dispenser empty. Nothing like the usual standard of service here. Food not very hot. It was very quiet so no justified reasons.

Best McDonald's in the local area, quick efficient and they've never got my order wrong. Great staff too

An absolute joke. I made the mistake of ordering from here this evening. A small order of a single meal with a side. The food took nearly two hours to arrive, the driver was on his mobile phone and didn't even say a word as he hurriedly handed the food over at the door, then when I opened the bags, the drink was spilt, the side was missing and the food was freezing cold. This place consistently forgets items and this was the last straw. Never ordering from here again.

I'm generally not a fan of drive through restaurants, but I stop off each Wednesday morning to pick up a flat white. I've always found the staff polite, and the coffee is of good quality and great value!

Emmanuel served us our food to our car after going through the drive-thru he’s absolutely great, very happy and friendly and going above and beyond, thinking outside the box by carrying sauces (every kind) and straws around and he drops off orders so you don’t miss out. He’s absolutely buzzing the lad and made our maccies experience here better! Cheers Emmanuel! :)

Enjoyed a very nice stop here. Friendly staff, clean and welcoming restaurant, and lovely hot food, the fries were the best we've had. Sorry we don't live nearer to visit more often. It was a real treat.

Lovely McDonald's with extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. Very helpful and kind. The entrance and exit from the carpark have got very high road bumps. There is adequate disabled parking. The restaurant is on the small size. The disabled toilet was very clean. The food was cooked on demand and was very fresh and hot.

Delivery has been cold last couple of orders and today it was completely wrong and cold again. Took it back and collected right order which had bits missing. Waited for drive thru order for 20 mins which was only luke warm and milkshake was only half full. Place is a shambles!! Won't order or collect from them again

It’s a rarity now to get good take away. McDonalds used to be consistent. In the last 5 times I’ve been to a McDonald’s, not just this one, something hasn’t been right. Cold chips, chewy burger, wrong items, “Ice cream machine isn’t working”… go to Burger King if you want this kind of food!

  • 2/5 Sam M. 4 years ago on Google
Customer service not bad, accepted the mistake in my order without any problem. Meal was disappointing, lettuce in the big tasty way beyond its best. Chips over cooked and coffee burnt or made in a badly cleaned machine. Not a good representation of Macdonald's

  • 1/5 Mark R. 1 year ago on Google
What a shambles. Thought that with the refurbishment they would have re-designed the drive thru. All they've done is painted double yellows which are ignored and now have more gridlock than before. Never returning.

Its maccies and did what maccies does best, food was decent, service was good. However for dining in, the waiting qué was long despite only a few people in front, and the wait for the food was also long enough I'm checking my watch, 10/15 mins. Whilst seeing a whole squad of delivery app drivers taking food out before mine. Not quite a fast food experience.

It had been a long tiring day surrounded by incompetence at a relatively nearby theme park and McDonalds was a promised treat to my partner in unfair judgement of teenage workers. She had not eaten McDonalds in 2 years! (Out of principle because they wouldn't serve her at the drive-thru on an electric scooter). The staff were friendly but somewhere along the chain, communication was about to fail. We asked for no pickles on the burger, some ketchup for the fries and I replaced the drink on one of the meals with my absolute favourite; a strawberry milkshake. I love strawberry milkshakes so much, I keep a large metal straw in the car just for strawberry milkshakes because the paper straws are so terrible at achieving the required suction. So fast-forward to our food being brought out to the car (because there was some kind of delay for everyone, not just us) and I shall begin my review: Firstly, pickles. I suspect you, dear reader, saw this one coming. Secondly, no ketchup. The McSpicy had plenty of spice but was perhaps lacking in the Mc area, it was thin and chewy and nothing like the picture. I suppose the Colonel still holds the crown here. The cherry on top of the black forest gateau of disappointment was my milkshake. As so often seems to happen, the strawberry flavouring was ... lacking. I debated whether perhaps this was just another cost saving assault from the office of the great clown himself, but decided to ask at the collection window. The staff member there was very helpful and explained that the flavouring was indeed automatically measured and added by the machine but he would be quite happy to replace it. It was at this point in my twisting tale of deception and woe that we discovered the strawberry flavouring had run out! Validation! I had not imagined this perceived reduction in strawberryness! Anyway, to cut a long story short they swapped it for a chocolate one instead. Would I go back? Perhaps ... perhaps. But a heart needs time to heal and I've been hurt so many times before. Maybe if they bring back the spicy nuggets...

Small but clean and extremely friendly staff. Great place to stop off for breakfast before heading into Gatwick north terminal and plenty of parking spaces. Nice outside area to eat too.

The food was alright, when it arrived. Flat coke and flatter service which was concerning, given that it was 11pm. Janet, in particular, (not sure if she was called Janet, but seemed like a Janet) was kind in service and very apologetic about the wait times. I'm sure this establishment is capable of more.

The lad who served me was happy and polite. I was impressed with how clean this place was and how the lady who was keeping it clean was so happy. Particularly she ensured the boy of a family sat near me left with the right toy and a smile. Well done.

I visited on Saturday early afternoon (30 April). Just wanted to commend a gem of a staff member: Olivia. Whilst I was eating my meal I noticed how engaging she was with the diners, friendly funny and offering help to everyone even without being asked or prompted. She has such an outgoing friendly attitude to her job. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
