Home of the roast....more like home of the cooked at lunchtime and kept warm. Disappointing experience here with an extremely tough joint of beef. They have the benefit of a carving knife, but the knives at your table were barely sufficient to cut it. Service wasn't great either. Asked several times for a high chair for our two year old but none arrived and we were only offered drinks when we'd pretty much finished our meal.

Great experience was just today in this pub because I had booked a too Good To Go bag when I arrived, however, unfortunately it is no longer available, the managers were really very kind to me, so much so that they even offered me a drink the room inside is very spacious, well furnished and comfortable, it feels like being at home the place is spotlessly clean and fragrant and it's incredible I saw so many people eating and drinking and the dishes They look really good I will definitely be back soon to taste their dishes i was really impressed by this welcome I am delighted to do this wonderful review

Without a doubt, the best value carvery around. There is another Toby closer to us but we keep coming back to this one because it is so great. The food is always lovely, fresh and hot. But the staff are all amazing. They are friendly, helpful, great with kids and old people and can't do enough to help you. From when you walk in, you really feel welcome. And whether you go on a Sunday or any other day, the amount of food you get for the money is unbeatable. Really not a bad thing to say about this place.

A very short wait in the queue for the carvery, very polite and welcoming staff, extremely generous servings of carvery meat, which is always excellent quality & never dry. Highly recommended (although take your own Cranberry/Apple/Mint sauce, as when we went, they had none & it was substituted with Ketchup instead - apparently they haven't been able to get the proper sauces for quite a while)

Went there today and was very impressed. The Carvery roast dinner was lovely , it was very tasty and nice and hot. The chef was very friendly and when I asked for a fresh piece of beef he didn't hesitate he went straight into the kitchen and came out with a freshly cooked joint of beef , my daughter asked for lots of the crispy fat around the gammon and he gave her just what she wanted ,excellent customer service . All the staff were very attentive and friendly Will definitely go back again and would highly recommend it. 5☆

This is my local Toby and I’ve always had great experiences. But I went today and I’ve never been so disgusted with the staff and the food. We line up for about 30mins cause the no chef was missing. He was at the bar messing about. The food was dry and disgusting. The staff where just talking around the bar and doing nothing. It was like a school canteen. The old man who works there was the only person doing stuff. I overheard him saying to his manager that he hasn’t had a break for 8hours and not even the toilet break, she didn’t seem to care I will never come back here again and I hope they get new staff that are trained properly and a manager that actually has balls to tell there staff to Actually work.

I came here last night. I was seated to a table and served very quickly. I had the Carvery which was hot, fresh and tasty, it would have been nicer to have more meat but maybe you are only allowed 1 slice. I had the crumble to follow which was on the carvery set menu (£10.49) for 2 courses! Thankyou Martyn for a nice experience.

Visited the Carvery with my wife, son and a friend. They were helpful, caring, very polite and courteous. All of the staff are lovely, especially Martyn. Martyn is a breath of fresh air, delivering excellent service 10/10!

We took a party of 15 for a Saturday evening birthday celebration, enjoying the carvery and some big delicious old-school deserts to follow. The food was excellent, four meats, a wide selection of perfectly cooked veg, whilst the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Overall it was a great experience at a remarkably good price and we would highly recommend this venue to others.

Me and my partner travelled 2 hours and were not disappointed! Martyn looked after us with great service and made sure our drinks arrived promptly. Hot food, hot plates all for a reasonable price, the chef carving our food was also very polite, will be returning.

Went there to have breakfast. Plenty of space, plenty of food options. Nice hot and fresh. And tasted very well for a buffet breakfast. Only issue was the cost of a cup of tea even though it was supposed to be unlimited and a cup of hot chocolate. On the high side if you ask me. Besides that. A good breakfast experience.

Fortunate to park free in carpark on busy Sunday lunchtime. Booked on-line 1 hour before. Only short queue at carvery. As a vegetarian there was good selection of food. Use tissue to hold hot serving spoons, as usual at all Toby's. Sprouts needed 5 minutes more.

We decided to visit earlier as it was Father’s Day. We had very quick service, food was all freshly cooked with plenty of choice. Staff were very helpful with me as I have mobility problems and made sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed.

When did toby carvery get so bad?? I remember going to Toby carvery and boxing off two plates full of veg years ago! What happened? I can’t comment on the meat as I don’t eat it but the veg was bad before it went in the pot not to mention the fact that they cooked the life out of the veg. I’d of been better ordering a glass of the pot water if I wanted any nutrients 🙄

Everyone was very friendly, tiny issue with the potatoes being slightly underdone but the meat and sides were all delicious, generous portions and I didnt mind missing a few potatoes. I wanted to leave a review here and say thank you to the blonde waitress who served us today as we left in a hurry, but she was lovely and my small son really loved his pudding (fruit and chocolate sauce) he wanted to say it was his favourite pudding ever 😂 Thanks again

Couldn’t believe my visit. So disappointed. The salt on the table was blocked so got up picked another two from the other tables, which were also blocked and when I unscrewed it, it was rusty, yellow and orange bits mixed in the salt and under the lid was so rusty!. Put me off my food completely! Coming from catering background I was absolutely shocked how it wasn’t cleaned of checked and it it was one of them I would have just brushed past it but for them to all that way wasn’t acceptable. You would see the state of the lid when refilling and it’s definitely been there for a while.

Rating 3.5 stars for the food, as it is quite often lukewarm on this occasion it was surprisingly a great temperature. We had great service and only downside was that there were no vegan desserts. The waiter said he would make a comment to the company. Excellent service

We didn't book but we were told that they had 2 tables but instead of them putting them together we had to do that ourselves. We ordered drinks and one of them was an iced coffee, it was absolutely terrible, I did complain and the lovely waitress did bring some more coffee but it was iced so therefore didn't change the weakness of the drink. We got the little ones a plastic egg toy from the machine for kids but it broke I'm a second and all this power came out and our little 3year old went to eat tye powder but luckily we stopped her in time. We complained to the manager but he didn't seem bothered but he did turn off the machine although other people came and turned it on later. The waitress way lovely bit the entire visit was a flop!

David gave the most brilliant service! Definitely a 10/10 for him - what a personality! The food was okay, but the service is what would bring us back for sure!

Unfortunately, the meat section of the carvery was limited, and there were not many vegetables to choose from. If they had broccoli 🥦 or sweetcorn, that would have been just as nice, as there were only green beans, peas, and carrots. Overall tasted decent. Shame there was no fruit when we went as that would have been really good afterwards.

I've not been to a carvery for years and have just had a lovely time in Redhill Toby. The service was great by everyone but especially Martyn our waiter, he was brilliant! The food was delicious and truly amazing value for money. Thank you it was fantastic 🌸

Food is great. Friendly staff. Only down side is one of the members of staff is over intrusive and won't just leave you to eat! He is an older guy and I get the feeling he is fishing for a tip. Which he would have got had he of just let me and my family enjoy our meal without constantly coming over every 5 mins. But that's one member of staff the rest are very welcoming and arr not in your face!

Had the breakfast some bits were dry due to heat lamps but overall quality of produce good. Yorkshire pudding on breakfast was a revelation. Paid at bar given cutlery and directed to drink and food area left to get on with it . Overall we enjoyed it

The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was good too. My only small gripe was that the vegetables were a little over done for my taste, possibly a result of them being out too long? Otherwise, good value and very good portions.

Always great in the Redhill branch, 100% better than the 'flagship' Ewell branch, and we won't even talk about Worcester Park, that depresses too many people. As always, Redhill gets top marks. We have to travel further, but the table staff and carvery get 10/10 every time. Always a pleasure, see you next time. :)

The waiter Martyn was lovely and very helpful. Food was great expensive if you are a veggie though good value if you eat the roasts. The chiefs were very helpful. Bread sauce would've been even better.

Stayed for 3 nights and ate here every day. Staff are incredibly friendly and provide a great atmosphere (special shout-out to our waiter, Jack & chef, Sharky who were super friendly and funny and always gave us service with a smile even during their busiest shifts!). Couldn’t recommend this place and it’s people enough - we’ll definitely be back! ☺️

Staff very helpful, food was good, meats were very moist. Plenty of veg options and had not been sitting under heat lamps too long. Puddings are way too expensive for what they are. Good evening with family

We ordered from the vegan menu and were pleased to find the mushroom and ale pie available. We were brought 2 large plates full of freshly steamed veg and went to the counter for some roast potatoes. The only disappointment was the lack of dessert options.

  • 4/5 Jan C. 1 year ago on Google
The all you can eat carvery has a selection of 4 meats and many vegetables. The onions are to be recommended. Deserts and other main options are available but the roast was very filling. Drinks were delivered to our table very swiftly and the place was not too overcrowded.

Fabulous choice this time, so much to chose from, wonderful!! Carver was grumpy, and its OK to be grumpy, but its not ok bad mouth about other staff members to customers. Waiting staff and servers hosting skills, 11/10 spot on!! Friendly, efficient. We love eating at this place, regulars. Never had a bad meal, service always fab. Carver might need a day off tho. Was very stressed. Not a criticism. An observation. Mental health in the work place etc etc etc....
