Some places that are visited are so peaceful and beauty-filled that pictures expressed are better than words. Highlights If you're a local or visitor, you must spend a day here. Eat, explore, relax, repeat. Bike paths, skateboard, waking, pets, running, or just to give your mind peace and connection to nature is worth a visit. The coolest tip is alongside the water is perfect to catch a sunset.

Southwestern feel for the whole area. Mix of restaurants and some shopping. Planes fly overhead because it's near the airport. Good place for lunch or a dinner to mix in shopping too.

A large building filled with every food option possible. We ate Japanese and Filipino food and neither disappointed. Lots of variety for even the finikiest of eaters to be satisfied. After the meal we walked around, found a few grocery stores, art shops and peace. The free and abundant parking doesn't hurt either.

Fun place to spend an afternoon. Lots of Naval History here, take time to stop and read the plaques and learn some historic Natal facts.

Ample places to eat. From coffee shops to breakfast lunch dinner places, sweets and ice cream and more. Unique gift shops and artistic items. Nice area to walk around. A trader Joe's here as well. Multiple entrances and I had no problem finding parking even on a weekend visit. Worth a visit. A nice relaxing and unique shopping or dining experience.

I recently spent a Friday evening wandering the grounds. Camera in hand, I enjoyed taking photos of the various buildings. There were art classes in session and I found myself eager to join them in the class. I roamed through the Public Market with all of the shops and restaurants. I'm looking forward to going back again soon.

Liberty Station is a park maintained mostly by the City of San Diego. Formally the Naval Training Center, where thousands of service men and women began their careers in the Navy since the Spanish American War. The training center was decommissioned by the Navy and sold to the City of San Diego. Extensive walking paths, green, open areas for children, bbq stations, picnic tables as well as an excellent food court in the upscale Public Market gives this place an eclectic feel to live and play. A prominent memorial to 52 ships and crew that fought and died in WW1 and WW2 is decorated with American flags on special dates throughout the year. Liberty Station is a 5 minute car ride to San Diego international Airport. There are several mid level hotels within walking distance of the Liberty Station Conference Center. The Conference Center sits beside the USS Recruit, a landlocked training ship. The landscaping is maintained by the hotels and restaurants around the Conference Center. It is always clean and green and well maintained. The City park has problems with broken and malfunctioning sprinklers. A long standing drought has compounded this with broad sections of dead brush in areas where the sprinkler system is non-functional, interspersed between areas of new growth and the occasional puddles of standing water from leaking water pipes. An extreme overpopulation of ground squirrels have dug tunnels and burrows from the water's edge all the way into the parking areas nearly 50 yards away. However, the park is still a place for families, for parties and picnics. Ceremonies, farmer's markets and Art Walks. I hope you come visit.

I enjoy visiting Liberty Station, Stone Brewery is located here. You do not have to drink beer. The food is GREAT, the asmapher is superb. Enjoy the history. A NAVY training center established in 1926. Lot different restaurants stores. Visiting is fun.

It's the best of San Diego! Cool breeze off the bay. Great views. Shopping and culture. Historic grounds. I had an urge to salute when passing the Commanders Building. I spent two months on this base going to Navy Instructor school in 1990. Now it is hosting free form outdoor performance art in the summer and a ice skating rink in the winter. Never would have imagined such frivolity when it was a Navy base, though the sailors would have enjoyed the craft brews!

If you have entered into the Liberty Station area, possibly to go to Trader Joe's or to go to one of the art exhibit areas, or one of the many restaurants, or if you've never gone here before, the Liberty Station area has so much to offer in so many ways -- actually beyond one's imagination -- you need to make a point of going there again and when you do, explore everything this area has to offer. Don't just go there in the daytime. Yes go there in the daytime, but go early in the morning, later in the afternoon, and even later in the evening into the dark of night. Use your phone or a camera and capture pictures of your experiences. I'm not going to try to share with you everything there is to offer there at Liberty Station. You will see what you will see and you will hear what you will hear and you will feel what you will feel as a result of the many experiences that you can have there. Everything will be your own and will provide you with a level of fulfillment you may not have enjoyed without me sharing this post.

I feel as if I'm in the training command center. The rooms, the walls and the scenic area feels truly Naval Military. The well rested and retired since 1997 Naval Military Base is available to local communities for business services. Local multi culture restaurants to serve warm outdoor meals. The ambiance and the historic ground reminds of predecessors and the United States Naval Life.

Amazing place for whole family to have fun even our paw friends. But complaints are brunch place have about 30 min to wait , parking is hard to find if you arrive 1 hr after open. Prepare for lines and crowd on weekend and events time . Bring a picnic cloth and find a open grass area to rest , airplane sight seeing and bring water and snacks would be my next visit must to dos .

We were just there fir the Candlelight Quartet concert at The Chapel. We would like to go back to explore the various restaurants and shops. Its a very lovely place and is amazed how well they did with that former military boot camp training center in San Diego.

This is a fun little shopping area for locals and tourists alike. There are lots of small eateries, boutique style shops, and activities. This is a kid friendly space as well. This is great on a sunny day, but would also be nice in the rain as there is an indoor vendor area and some of the walkways are covered. Definitely check out the little children’s book shop here if you have kids! It was a delightful little space with fun picture books.

If it hadn't been for this place..I would have starved. My hotel across the bridge only offered expensive snacks so lunch /dinner was a walk for me. My lower back has never hurt so much having to walk to find real food.

I really enjoyed Liberty Station at this time of year. It was decorated with beautiful lights, ornaments, and garlands. I was painting with the Watercolor Society near the ice skating rink, and there were two weddings and receptions going on. So festive with lots of activity. There were kids, parents, grandparents, couples, doggies--very inclusive. I felt safe, even as it got dark. The activity was still high at 7 pm. when I packed up my paints and easel.

I love Liberty Station, it is packed with awesome restaurants, mom and pop shops and bakery. I frequent Con Pane and the public market at Liberty station the most. LOVE the gruyure loaf at Con Pane and the pizza and fresh pasta w/a beer at the public market.

Awesome place and not just because of Stone Brewery. We enjoy Liberty Station every time we visit San Diego. The Market inside has gotten better and better with new vendors moving in. The crepe places (two of them!) are hard to tell which is better so I just keep eating at both. Lots of open spaces between the barracks and I'm sure in non-covid times they've got lots of free events for the public as well. Can't wait to go back!

This place is a great destination for tasty bites, artistic inspiration, and more. There are plenty of parking spots, and I would recommend parking by the quarter. The walk to your destination is much more exciting and often overlooked.

A great local landmark that should appeal to visitors and locals alike. Parking is free and plentiful, there are miles of walkable sidewalks, and a variety of restaurants and shops that will easily take half a day to tour around.

Absolutely beautiful, peaceful property, well landscaped with outdoor art installations. Liberty station is a combination of restaurants, shops, art galleries, pathways amongst a park-like setting. Great place to recreate: bike walk, run or skate. It could easily take 2 days to explore the entire area. Magnificent!

This is a great place to shop, eat, or just hang out in the heart of San Diego. Plenty of restaurants in Liberty Square Market (it's a food hall design). There are great galleries and home goods stories as well as some retailers at the end (Vans, Starbucks, Trader Joe's, etc). We went on a weekday morning, and it was a great place to stroll and soak up the sun.

Really great atmosphere! ✨️I'm not really sure how to describe the feeling here, but it's a "warm", happy place... vehicles drive slowly. My kiddo was able to ride his scooter around. We went to the LOT cinema, which was REALLY nice. All of the people we encountered were friendly and kind. I wish we had explored the area more ✨️

The sitting area is great, and the train ride to the market is absolutely worth it. It would be a great stop spot to catch the beautiful sunshine in a busy city in autumn. It would be gorgeous to be surrounded by flowers if visited in summer.

Visited the Vons at this location about a week ago and found it convenient and fitting to my needs with good customer service and a friendly checkout register gal. Normally, I would come back to visit this type of location which is what I did a couple days later only to find that the register line was backed all the way past the entrance to the store which seemed rather odd. Anyhow, same service same groceries same quality they have always had. I'm sure I will go back. Until next time, JR ... Bon appetit!

Liberty Station is a great place if you want to.....do anything really! The grounds are beautiful you can walk or run along side one of our bay channel's. Sit and read a book on one of the lawns or in a garden. Or you can browse the various shops for some unique finds. There is also a movie theater and a couple of groceries stores on site. The restaurant's!!!! Whether you you want something quick or a sitdown (check covid guidelines) meal it's there. You can literally travel the world there through the representation of foods. I have never had a bad meal there!
