I love this mall! The pictures I took are not even half of the stores, restaurants, play area for kids etc that exists in this cute and modern vibe area. I love coming here and I know for a fact that my toddlers love it more. I highly recommend! I give 4stars because the restrooms can use a little upgrade…some toilets wiggle when you seat on them and the family rooms are old and smell musty.

An elegant and open-air mall with lovely installations, a venue that invites its patrons to stroll around and enjoy the day. It features an erray of shops from higher-end appearel and furniture to electric car brand showrooms. Multiple eating options are also available. The central area with fountains and occasional live music would be a great addition to one's day. Free parking for the first two hours can be availed.

Somehow this mall has not succumbed to the slow death that other malls have across the USA. Its clean, nice, well staffed, and most importantly busy. Also, they have one of the three CYBERTRUCKS in California at the Tesla store.

Very Beautiful and Chill Vibe while enjoying the shopping flow. Set up is easygoing and Maps placed to guide you to exactly what you may be looking for. I'm from Texas, first time visitor and enjoyed myself at this Mall.

I went to Raised by Wolves bar. It was an amazing experience. The visual experience was excellent, as well as the drinks. Finally I found a bartender (Sarah) who could offer me a gin drink that wasn't sickly sweet, nor bitter martini nor plain gin and tonic. Also earlier in the day I was there with my granddaughter (1 year) and our was amazing for her too. The visual and tactile experience was stimulating and pleasurable for her.

Lots of amazing stores and restaurants, a Lego Store! Indoor food court has a skating rink. Unique outdoor mall. Parking is free if you are under 2 hours but that could prove difficult with all it has to explore.

This outdoor mall is so nice to just go to and walk around. Also so many sitting areas with relaxing scenes. The koi fountain, the promenade, ice rink, dog park, live music, list goes on. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the stores, but others might disagree. 2 things that aren't great. They charge for parking, and they need to fix their plumbing issues which get you right in the senses and are in the same few spots as you walk around.

I know visiting a new city can be stressful if you aren’t adventurous. I’m probably average on the adventure scale. So if your visiting San Diego then you have to go to this mall! The ride was on the Trolley and cost $2.50 each way. Take the blue line all the way to the end at UTC and you are literally at the mall. My ride was about 45 minutes. The mall is all outdoors and is gorgeous. There are so many high end stores and also the anchor stores like Macys; I bought a belt and some socks not that you care. I also went to a movie and had lunch at Seasons 52 one of my favorites. When your done for the day just hop back on the trolley to the city. One was waiting for me when I went back to the platform. The Westfield UTC mall is a must see. Next time I’ll have to ask what UTC means. 😎

A great high-end mall. The whole place is very modern and upscale. The food courts have amazing selections of food. Highly recommend going and checking out the whole place. And if you're looking for something to do, they have an ice rink.

Best shopping center in all of San Diego. The stores are high end and you have all sorts of price ranges for the entire family. The diversity in store selection is incredible. You can find almost anything and everything that you are looking for. Whether you are looking for gifts or just a little something for yourself or even just things you need, you can’t go wrong with coming here. Westfield has really upped their game since the remodeling by opening many many new stores and offering an extremely modern shopping experience. The accessibility of parking even when it is crowded turns this place into a somewhat calm shopping environment despite the holiday craze. Definitely a much better shopping mall than anything else San Diego has to offer.

Love it here the art you can find around every corner as you walk and shop. (shown in picture the 🐟 fish piece) the many stores to choose from try not to get lost! The food court and restaurants selection are amazing don't forget to stop and watch the ice skaters from little ones just beginning or more advanced fun to watch as they ease their way on the ice .

The UTC Mall is a great place. It's kind of a shopping Utopia. The biggest worry anybody has there is where to get their next smoothie. The food court actually has some amazing restaurants and food from many cultures and is really great. The shops are great, the mall is filled with beautiful fountains and wonderful seating areas and lots of room. I highly recommend this mall.

This place has amped up since the last time I was here and it's looking really nice. Went to the Arc theater which is awesome. One of our favorite theaters in San Diego. They use to have an Oakleys but I didn't see it. Parking is a little hectic like most mall's.

Nice mall in La Jolla with lot of shopping and restaurants options. Its heavily trafficked on weekends. You can easily spend 5-6 hours inside it. All over the mall you have digital maps which are very helpful. Lots of parking space and first 2 hours are free parking which is really cool.

I have been to both Westfields in London and in the US. And this one is standing on a solid Top 2 if not Top 1. The outdoor spacing, arrangements, design, and art works are well executed and presented. The shops list are aren't huge, but does the job for this regions' wealthy people market.

A little paradise located in the heart of SD. Lots of shopping stores with big brands and extremly helpful security guards. Diverse and international dining, ranging from "fast-food" to upper class restaurants. Lovely outdoor seating with a breathtaking waterspout fountain and live music. Praise goes out to the cleaning staff, which are hardworking and keeping this place peculiary clean. Plenty of parking space too. Upon exiting, the gate recognizes your license plate and opens automatically.

The most beautiful mall in San Diego! Soo many decorations, statues, art pieces, water fountains with dolphins because the mall is by the sea. Tons of restaurants and several nice play areas for kids. Free wifi throughout and lots of places to sit and read or have a nice cup of tea. And the ice rink, I remember when they first built it. People were actually skating the day I went. Also a nice cool place to sit. Tons of stores for shopping. Also a little book cabinet where you can leave a book or take one for free. You could spend the whole day here. The atmosphere is soo nice. I really enjoyed it. I wanna go back and try some of the different restaurants. This is just the nicest mall I've ever been to. Parking is free for 2 hrs. I can't say enough nice things about this place 😊

Today's July 28th 2022 my girlfriend and I decided to take the new trolley line from Hillcrest up to UTC. It's about a 30-minute ride and is the last stop. Just a heads up that you will need to walk through a large parking lot to get to the first store which is Macy's. Once you get into the mall it really is nice as I had not been up there in 15 years. Really enjoyed seeing so many new stores, a few restaurants and two nice water pools with Dolphin statues. There is an ice skating rink there that has the food court so lots of choices and that's where we ate. I also added in the photos Hannah's Creamery and Cafe be sure to check that place out it's very cool inside what's delicious desserts.

The challenge: navigate a crowded outdoor mall optimized for wealthy white American families and couples while trying to find a place to eat that a) isn't too expensive, b) isn't Shake Shack, and c) doesn't close by 7 pm. I think the Nobel Drive area has much better food options, so I don't know why UTC is the go to place for hangouts when every time people struggle to decide where to eat. I guess UTC is good if you're too lazy to go to Convoy.

This is a very nice mall with convenient Tesla charging. The mall has doubled in size over the past 5 years. It is proof that malls are not dead due to online shopping. That was the false narrative used by the politicians to sadly kill the Horton Plaza mall downtown. The layout of this outdoor mall is very spacious, with the storefronts at different angles and never giving you a crowded feeling like at other malls. The variety of stores and restaurants is amazing. The only downside is the decision to charge for parking. This is an unnecessary money grab. Although the first two hours of parking are free, the mall is so large, it would be impossible to check out even a third of the stores without exceeding that time and having to pay up to $15. Minus one star for not having free parking like other outdoor malls.

Despite several stores closed and the food court also partially closed, UTC doesn't loose it's appeal. We love the ambiance, very relaxing. AND... everyone is following sanitary precautions!!!

I have been going to the UTC mall since I was a little kid ( they used to have a really cool arcade next to the ice skating rink). The recent remodel has made the place absolutely gorgeous! So many great restaurants to enjoy! OK, now the negative..... Seriously, paid parking! Seems absolutely ridiculous and jams up your entrance and exiting of the mall🤬 And still one of the most confusing malls to get lost in! But, it's gorgeous and lots of things to do while you're lost! Lol

Perfect for creative and imaginative play. My daughter can't get enough to this playroom we recently used. She loves all of the activities inside but the ones she truly goes back to, are the slides and the part where she colors her chosen animals and watches it comes to life on the walls. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Spent a leisure day there. Shopping with the Wife, dining, met up with more Family, then dessert. We spent well over$500.00 at the mall but then had to pay $10.00 for parking? Maybe I missed ability to validate, people at food court said they dont validate?

  • 5/5 Jimmy L. 3 years ago on Google
Modern looking, has character and not vanilla. Has a section for more finer dining. The food court is ok. For some reason, the energy in there always feels low for some reason. Rest of mall is beautiful and the people around there are very nice and considerate. Nothing bougie or entitled there. Playground area for kids, bubble tea, empanadas, movie theater, etc. Traffic in certain areas might be bit busy and two hour free parking, after that you pay but other than that, great place to walk, eat, family oriented. Community is nice and considerate. Nothing entitled, bougie. Respectful. Love it. =)

I was also very impressed by the alterations that I had done on my dress. I lost 40 lbs between the day I bought the dress and a week before the wedding, so the dress had to be completely reworked (which I imagine is not an easy task). The seamstress did a phenomenal job, making the dress fit perfectly on my new and improved figure!

Westfield UTC has only improved in the last decade. Amazing restaurants have appeared and more and more high-end stores keep arriving! The architecture is gorgeous, and there are so many options! The only negative would be how there's a 2-hour parking limit now and you have to get a ticket in and out which is a little ridiculous. I guess if you're only going to be there for a few hours it's no big deal but if you plan on doing some marathon shopping, stopping for lunch and then staying longer, just be mindful. Also the parking structure is easy to get lost in. Lol

This is one of the nicer shopping malls in the area that I have been able to discover as a outsider and someone comes to the area to visit once of the year. Perhaps there are nicer shopping plaza mall malls in this area but I have not really discovered those. I would encourage you to take some time and visit here especially if there are stores that you are interested that you might find on the map.

Madison reed as I work at the salon with it being first to come to San Diego makes me so happy to be apart of this new journey! Celebrated at the speakeasy secret bar that I was anticipating to go to then bam my best friend birthday was perfect way to celebrate 🎉 cheering some cocktails in the luxury dim lighting bar. Pacific catch restaurant I would go back for their fancy blue water bottle experience and their fire place area became a cool picture moment to appreciate the moment in my time of celebrating the grand opening of the Madison Reed Salon . Next time I’ll have to order two avocados 🥑 dip and chips. One for two people isn’t enough when we both love avocados! Lol I’ll be coming back for sures .

Parking was easy with first two hours free. Digital location maps within the mall were easy to use. Beautiful new design of mall shops replacing older outdated structures. Some of the older structures still remain awaiting removal (reason for 4 stars instead of 5).

Came here on April 20th with friends @ 9:45am. Upon arriving we didn’t know we had to pay for parking so after reading the sign it did state parking is free for 2 hours after it’s $2/hourly I believe. Shopped for about 3 hours and paid $2 for parking which isn’t bad. The mall is huge and is undergoing renovation where an old Sears used to be so beware of noise. But I really enjoy this mall.

Growing up in Northern California I was never privy to these open air shopping malls. These are pretty cool and I think unique to the Southern California region. I think I started seeing these in Northern California in the last 10 years but it's been a while since I've been there. This was a cool mall and I'm sure folks would want to visit and check out the different things plus it also has a veggie grill so you have some vegan food there that's readily available

went for the first time with my mom, it's really nice because they got lots of bench and spots to sit down because my mom can't really walk for a long time, you can even bring your dog here. lots of restaurant to choose, lots of place to shop as well. great place! parking is cheap, free for the first 2 hours and after you have to pay $2/hr or $15 for whole day. you could pay it before you leave at some self service kiosk near the parking lot.

  • 4/5 Marisa L. 10 months ago on Google
This mall is upscale and gorgeous with tons of outdoor seating and occasional live music. The downside is that even with all the changes being made, the parking lot is still difficult if it's busy because there are way too many intersections. The stores are overcrowded with displays so it's hard to navigate with all the crowds. First two hours of parking are free. I can't spend more than two hours there anyway before I get overwhelmed by how narrow the walkways get.

I had an amazing time at UTC Mall in La Jolla! This shopping mall is an absolute gem. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the elegant and modern atmosphere. The layout is well-designed and easy to navigate, making my shopping experience enjoyable. The selection of stores at UTC Mall is outstanding. There is something for everyone, whether you're looking for high-end luxury brands or more affordable options. The variety of shops is impressive, and I was able to find everything I needed in one place. Not only is the shopping great, but the dining options at UTC Mall are fantastic as well. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafes, offering delicious and diverse cuisines to satisfy any craving. The food court also offers a great selection of quick bites for those on the go. The staff at UTC Mall are friendly and helpful. I encountered several employees who went above and beyond to assist me, making my shopping experience even better. The mall is clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment to spend time in. Overall, I highly recommend UTC Mall to anyone looking for a wonderful shopping experience in La Jolla. It's a top-notch mall with a fantastic selection of stores, great dining options, and excellent customer service. I will definitely be returning!"

Real eye opener. So many stores and shops. People were walking their dogs and there was just so much to do. It was lovely. They had restrooms and maps too. First time there.

😐 Newly Remodeled, fresh merchandise, new leadership. This store is making better decisions; helping it to be a key hub in this community. No longer will this neighborhood be ignored by merchants the size of Wal-Mart, Kroger, Target and others.
