I wanted to give it five stars, but the showers are awful. Multiple rooms over the past few months, all the same. Absolutely no water pressure. It's barely enough to wash yourself. A good shower in the morning can make or break a stay and the rest of your day. This is a total disappointment Otherwise nice hotel. Comfortable, clean, quiet. Area is going downhill quickly with a lot of crime and safety issues but this is not the fault of the hotel who provides ample security.

I was injured by a homeless person IN the "m club" during breakfast . Somehow this individual made it through the doormen to the second floor, and past the attendant. Security had to apprehend the individual. Hotel management has not reached out, but their security team did. Did not feel safe in this hotel after this. Otherwise, alarm clock went off early in morning (typically house keeping clears), pull out bed had no bedding (no extra bedding in room either). M club had restrictive hours, I would recommend booking elsewhere.

As a hotel the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. As an upscale one it leaves something to be desired. Post COVID this hotel is struggling to provide consistent amenities. Their pantry was open for food, but it was a mystery as to when the others would be open despite posted hours. They also only have main entry via the front door not out the back with your hotel access card. Skip this place for now... when they can be staffed fully, it seems like they would be good.

I was pleased with the San Francisco Marriott Marquis due to the central location, expansive views, amazing executive lounge (M Lounge), and attentive staff. The hotel is located right off Market and Powell, so traveling from the airport via BART was simple. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and housekeeping is willing to help out in any way. I loved the M Lounge for breakfast and evening snacks. The gym was also perfect for my needs. Overall, the San Francisco Marriott Marquis is an excellent hotel that I will stay in again when visiting San Francisco.

Great location with everything in walking distance. The Rooms are clean and quiet, staff are friendly and helpful. Shout out to Sabina at front desk who took care of my check-in, knowing that I'm staying longer time she found a room with nice view and very quiet, provided me a pleasant stay experience without me even asking for it. Thank you!

The neighborhood doesn't feel safe, and it's very expensive. Parking is also very expensive. (But it's down town, so it's expected) The hotel has good standard but the staff has terrible customer service 12 booked nights, and they still refused good customer care and positivity. They rather milk a few more bucks out of their customers then letting their customers leave happy. Finding hair from others in the shower wasn't very nice either. The lobby is one of the worst I've seen. Very plain, cold and even windy. Will not stay there again. They were even lying that the hotel was fully booked, but i can still book a room on their webpage.

I received the worse treatment from one staff member there - seemingly influenced by the way I looked and the skin I am in - and she was still there making faces at me at the end of my trip. Housekeeping deserves 5 stars. Whoever is running this hotel needs to revisit the training of their "local experts". You did not address my situation and I will keep reviewing this place

Overall, it's a nice hotel. I stayed here for the World Agri-Tech Summit, and they've done a great job with the food service. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and I was not disturbed by any noise. I always find the beds to be too soft, but that's just me. The only negative is that our room faced inside overlooking the inner courtyard. I would have preferred an outside view with sunshine. As a Marriott member, I do prefer autograph properties over the more modern properties.

Traveling for the first time with a child. This hotel made it very easy! The rooms had black out blinds! Controlled by a switch. Very fancy. The rooms were comfortable. The temperature control easy to use. The washrooms were very nice! Tad low on the water pressure in the showers. But a very lovely experience. The housekeeper was top notch. Very friendly. And thorough. Highly recommend.

Amazing location- right downtown and walkable to pretty much everything (and BART-able from SFO and OAK). There is a well stocked To Go Pantry on the first floor which was very convenient. The lobby restaurant (B55) is a little pricey but reasonable for The City. The Bar on 39 was closed for a private event when I tried to go up at about 4:30pm which was disappointing. Room is well appointed and feels clean and safe.

I don't understand why they bonvoy app allows early check-in if this hotel does not honor the request. Had an early flight arrival around 12 pm and was told rudely by the front staff that the room was not ready without even asking for checkin info. They said they would text once the room is ready and have been sitting in the lobby for hours since then. Usually in the hotel industry, if a customer requests early check in, cleaning staff are asked to prioritize those rooms first, it's fairly standard. Currently 3:45 pm, official check in is at 4 pm. Fingers crossed we get our room on time.

Nice clean hotel with big rooms. Comfortable beds. There were USB outlets by the bed but most of them did not work. Bathroom was spacious with plenty of hot water. Climate control was quiet. There was a sound machine in the room as well as a mini fridge. Staff were pleasant. Hotel is convenient to many shopping and eating places.

Really enjoyed the stay here due to the perfect location of the hotel in relation to SF attractions. So much is walkable from here! Make sure to bring your walking shoes and add in some exercise while just doing your normal daily activities. No wonder people around here look so fit! Anyways, the rooms were nice, clean, updated, AC worked well. The M Club Lounge was excellent, great breakfast with coffee and hot/cold food. Love those places. The lobby was unique, but not overly remarkable. The top floor has a must-see view in the restaurant. There is a ‘resort fee’ or whatever its called but you do get that back as a credit to use at one of the restaurants if you’re a status holding Bonvoy member (or maybe everyone gets the credit, not sure). Probably don’t bring a car if you can help it. Parking is expensive. Fitness Center is better than most gyms you’ll ever belong to! Huge plus.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Requested early check in and received with additional offer of late check out and$25 gift toward dining. Room a/c non existent. Very uncomfortable to get ready for our event. Enjoyed cheese plate but not the spicy tuna at The View located on 39th floor. This is a must see for the beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately, the windows are so dirty! They detract from the view and make taking photos difficult. This restaurant/ bar did not have adequate a/c either. Nice place to stay if attending an event at The Oracle. Be weary of a/c issue of staying during the summertime.

This is my favorite hotel in downtown SFO. The hotel was recently renovated in 2021 - 2022. Beautiful decor. Great service. Regular check-in line can be long, especially when the hotel has a conference or a lot of guests. The Elite check-in line is usually short. There is a coffee/snack shop on the lobby level. Great for a quick grab and go meal or coffee.

Very nice hotel. Service was good. The only thing I didn't like besides the cost (which is really starting to get ridiculous) is that after I had already checked in received my rm keys the guy hands me a piece of paper telling me that there is another $25. charge that can be used for breakfast in their restaurant or grab and go store. Very annoying, should tell me before I make my decision as to if I'm going to be staying there or not. And if you don't use it you lose it. Will not give it back. So we did go to the grab and go. A bottle of water is $4.50. Can you say price gouging? Oh and dont forget the additional charge for valet, which is $85.00 a night! Other than that your good.

The hotel is nice and clean. However, when staying at a Marriott I expect at least basic attention to detail. For example, I got in the shower and the shower gel bottle was empty. I got into bed and there was a “king” sticker on the sheets. Overall, it was just an okay stay for the price. I would stay elsewhere next time.

Now this was a great hotel the Marriott marquis San Francisco was excellent. I stayed at the Marriott marquis Atlanta and boy was I disappointment. This was top not service , amenities were excellent The employees were friendly and very helpful. Definitely will be coming back to this Marriott. The one in Atlanta I don't think so

The parking is as much as the nights stay. Ridiculous. Staff is all very friendly and the valet service is nice…not fast but nice. The price to park was so high I felt justified in not giving a tip. The rooms were clean but a typical hotel room. Honestly, if the room hadn’t been free with air miles I’d definitely stay elsewhere with a lot more charm for less dough.

About as good as one can expect from a conference hotel. It’s close to Moscone Center. They were ready for me for a slightly early check in, the room was reasonably sized and very clean. And it was quiet. Staff was friendly but not overbearing. I’d come here again for a conference.

This was my first time visiting the San Fran Marriott Marquis and I enjoyed it. Check in was decent, the line was fairly long. Luckily, there was a separate line for Bonvoy Elite Members so that helped with the wait. The light was beautifully decorated with Christmas decor. The room was pretty decent we were in 3849. It had great views of the city. I could see the baseball stadium where the SF Giants play. The tub instead of a walk on shower seems a little dated to me. Maybe they will remodel soon. You must pay a destination fee or resort fees of $25 per night I attached the list in the photos. I think the hotel is pretty close to whole foods, target, trader Joe's, the mall, etc.

Our stay at San Francisco Marriott Marquis during spring break was exceptional! The central location provided easy access to key attractions. The modern and comfortable rooms, coupled with attentive service, made our experience memorable. The on-site amenities and dining options added to the overall satisfaction. A fantastic choice for exploring San Francisco!

Decent hotel for the location and amenities. The room itself was a bit on the older side, limited lighting in room. Comfy bed as usual. Check in process was kind of slow for us. Had lounge access, it was good to have free breakfast. Selections were ok. For the price point of 400+ a day, it’s not that great, but location is probably the best aspect of this hotel.

I stayed here for a conference and enjoyed my stay. Staff was friendly, room was clean, wifi was fast and easy to connect to. I particularly liked their elevator setup. There are 2 sets of elevators: yellow for the lower floors, pink for the upper floors — 6 elevators each. As a result, the elevators always came quickly.

If you've ever wondered how someone can find a luxury hotel room without breaking the bank, ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ is the answer. Trust me, I just got this room at a fraction of the usual price. It was just a one night stay, but the check in experience was just so lovely with Brianna that we felt immediately welcome like family. The luxury suite was simply stunning - after using a suite night award it was discovered that there was one suite higher that they were happy to confirm me into. The lounge hours could have been better. We were out late so we missed the breakfast which ended at 9. And sadly given it was a Sunday stay, there were no evening snacks. Oh well, San Fran has so many amazing restaurants to try! The only issue was that the room had a broken coffee machine. After speaking with a manager, she agreed to get us coffees from the shop downstairs so we could get on our way. It’s a massive property with lots of people around (elevators were constantly full with friendly folks), so might not be for people who want a more intimate experience. But we knew what we were getting when we booked so we were able to enjoy.

Nice and clean room. It doesn’t come with a microwave so it’s pretty inconvenient if you travel with kids/babies but I understand they want to keep their room clean and have a luxury vibe. There is a cheap coffee maker that you can find in any hotel room. Overall it was a nice stay. Staff was nice enough. Great location of course (when it has “Marquis” in its name, you know a good location is guaranteed). The destination fee is not outrageous, you get 2 water bottles and 4 cable car tickets, so don’t buy those out of pocket (I bought the tickets and then realized we could get them for free from the hotel, they don’t expire though). Will I be back? Maybe, when the kiddos no longer need a microwave to warm stuff up. Lol.

The staff are the friendliest and most helpful people I’ve ever met! I was there for a big conference— everyone was so gracious, and went above and beyond to ensure the conference was successful and we were comfortable. I’m gluten free and vegan, and they were able to accommodate the meals and knew what was in every meal if I had a question. I’d stay there again for sure. The conference rooms are freezing so if you are there for a conference bring warm clothes!

What is going on here? I have never seen such an amazing staff anywhere I've stayed, and we've stayed all over the world. I don't know what it is, but the staff has been outstanding. They genuinely reach out and have friendly conversations, and they seem happy to be working. Probably speaks of the management because it's usually a top down effect that makes things like this possible. The views in some of these rooms are amazing. We are here for 2.5 weeks this time around. Great breakfast, the coffee in the room is great. We just stayed in 5 other places up the coast from Cancun to here and this place smokes 'em. And the gym is huge!

Nice hotel with lots of amenities nearby. My room also included a Dohm white noisemaker which was nice for a downtown location with lots of street noise. The bed was a little worn and probably needs replaced but overall the hotel is nice compared so some other downtown hotels I’ve stayed at.

Stayed here for a wedding a city hall. Located around s bunch of stores and shops (they all close fairly early though). However, the hotel has a nice restaurant with alot of options. Some located right on the backside of the hotel. They also have some quick convenient food options as well. The room was great. Very spacious and accommodating. The service was expedient and on point. It will definitely be on our top choices when we travel back to SF!

Great location with easy access to lots of things, but communication was not handled well. First, our flight was canceled, so we missed our first night of our reservation. We called and explained, and they said we should not be charged but it was on the final bill. READ YOUR FINAL BILL! Then, as a Deaf couple, we were in an ADA room, but they didn't provide a way for us to communicate with the hotel staff- such as wanting to order room service or needing more towels. Instead, we have to go down to the lobby. To accommodate our troubles, they said we could have a late check out at 6 pm. We were grateful for this. But when we got home, we saw a second charge on our phone. We called for clarification and they charged us for the late checkout! We argued that this was not in the final bill and was provided to us without any charge. Moral of the story: Read your final bill and check your charges. Very sneaky and not appreciated.

Excellent hotel. Has a beautiful lounge and lobby on one of top floors with restaurant too. Staff was very nice and welcoming. A short walk to the main parts of Downtown San Francisco. Would stay here again without doubt

  • 5/5 Eric C. 1 year ago on Google
Great corner room with city views! Listen carefully...if you need to park a car, just use the valet service. The valets were professional and efficient. Lastly, the hotel has at least 2 good restaurant options you'll like. This is a busy hotel, but you'll feel the warm hospitality of the staff regardless.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and can fully recommend it. Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly. The location was superb. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke. We complained and got free WiFi access for three days as compensation. Just perfect.

The good: Great location, nice staff, nice rooms and fully equipped. The expected bad: wifi is not free, parking is 80$ a day. The unexpected bad: water pressure in the shower is very weak, about 4/10 and was like that in all the rooms our group had and though the day, so not just in heavily used hours. There is a public parking right in-front of the hotel, they can easily mention it instead of getting you to pay for parking 80$

  • 5/5 Angel C. 1 year ago on Google
Was a beautiful hotel. My only complaint would be that they have no drinks or vending machines inside this hotel. So we had to order drinks and water, etc from the local 711 down the street. Also, for security reasons, the items are not allowed to be brought up to your door, you physically have to take the elevator down to the lobby, and walk outside to the security to grab your belongings. Also, they're was no microwave in the rooms which was another downfall. But the stay was nice and the hotel was beautiful inside.
