I had a really bad experience staying here. We checked in to our hotel around 10 pm after a tiring day only to find blood stained sheets. And not tiny blood stains but big ones. In the times of COVID when you expect 4 star hotels to at least clean and sanitize the room, here we find that the sheets itself were not cleaned let alone sanitization. We called the hotel staff asking to change the sheets or provide a better room but we were not provided any update for the next 30 minutes as the calls were routed to voice mail. This is not at all good customer service considering Marriott is a 4 star hotel. Finally after waiting and waiting for two hours, we were asked to move to a similar room but I knew for sure the new room as well wouldn’t be cleaned or sanitized considering how unclean the sheets in the previous room were. Iv stayed in small motels prior to my stay here but iv had cleaner rooms and better customer service in the motels than this place.

Here was the main problem with my stay. When I arrived, the valet attendant told me I had accept the valet service........mandatory. No option to park my own car. So what did that cost me? 64 a night plus another 9 dollar a night parking charge. So 73 bucks a night to park my car. I wanted to park it at a local parking garage which would have cost me 40 dollars a night. I was told I could not do that. Then you add the "Resort fee" on top of that so my added fees for this 2 night stay was $181.00 dollars. The location at this hotel is great but the rooms are just okay with low popcorn ceilings. I wouldn't stay here again. Whatever price you think you are paying for your room....just add another 90 dollars a night.

We stayed at this Marriott for 5 days. It is located in Fisherman's Wharf, walking distance to the Pier, Alcatraz Line, Little Italy, the Cable Cars, and a short distance from anything else. The location was great, relatively safe. The service in the hotel is really good. Any issue or question we had they were ready and willing to help. Really professional and personable people. More pluses: you get a $20 credit each night for the bar/restaurant, which was basic but decent enough. Also, the concierge knows the good spots for a night out to eat. AND, you can borrow fishing equipment or rent a bike from them as well. The only downside was the fact that the rooms seemed a bit musty, which may be due to the fact that it is a few blocks from the water, but regardless for the over 300 a night that we paid plus the fees and being Bonvoy members, we're just used to a little bit more fresh accommodations. Overall a good stay and we would do it again.

We all know Marriott has tiers -- from Fairfield to Courtyard to Marriott and on up. This felt like a Courtyard but wasn't. Nothing remarkable about the room. Nothing remarkable about the restaurant. Just okay across the board. (Service was friendly and the concierge was helpful.) This is close to the wharf area, but the Courtyard is closer. If I stayed in San Francisco again, I'd go there. The value for the dollar spent just wasn't here.

The rooms were updated and clean, I’ll give them that. I booked a high floor room to have a better chance of a quieter stay, upon checking in, I was told that my room was given away and I was stuck with a low floor room. They said it would be just as quiet, it was not. I could hear kids screaming up and down the hallway all night, and any time someone used the bathroom in a neighboring room, it sounded like my head was in their toilet - the walls are that thin. You’re automatically charged a $20 amenity fee for your stay which includes a $20 credit for breakfast - which may sorta justify the absurdly high prices. I left the breakfast table before ordering - beyond the prices, the menu was full of typos. If a place overlooks a typo on a $30 plate of scrambled eggs while laminating 100 menus, I really don’t trust them to check the expiration date on that carton of eggs. While this isn’t a bad hotel per se, it’s certainly not up to par with the Marriott Premium brand. At best, it sits between a Best Western and a Courtyard in terms of quality/experience.

We had never been to San Fran and were advised by friends to choose this location as newbies. We are Marriott people and had a few choices. Quick valet, no wait and a swift check in. We wanted to unwind without having to hit the streets and make decisions. We were delighted to have a nice comfortable lobby bar that had an knowledgeable bartender and had great food (crabcake sliders!) with a good beer and wine selection (we are picky on all accounts). Perfect spot to plop down for happy hour and settle in. The hallways, room & bathroom were clean, bed comfy. And what a pleasure to actually have people at the concierge desk in a hotel lobby these days. There always seems to be an empty concierge desk wherever we go lately, obviously due to covid, but this hotel hit the mark especially in a tourist town like this. I chatted with 2 of them who were so friendly and helpful. I got tired of making decisions with all the self planning and booked a tour through them. It was really nice to have them there in a big city that you have never been to. The breakfast was appropriately priced for a hotel location like this, clean, hot, delicious bacon & sausage, several egg choices and always had a nice gentleman there refreshing everything (he didn’t go unnoticed). There are fresh fruit, pastries available as well as great coffee. Lots of service! You’re never on your own looking for someone in this lobby area. This property itself is not over the top or swanky in its atmosphere and decor if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s decorated in a very tasteful up to date contemporary manner that’s comfortable for all types of travelers. Valet guys were great, valet not cheap as to be expected. Most parking places in the area were charging the same rate. To comment on other reviews regarding a slight smell. I think it could be possibly be dampness from the ocean. I prefer that over fake air fresheners, so I would hate Marriott to start spraying that in the rooms. I didn’t notice it and I am seriously high maintenance with any smells. It is a dog friendly hotel so if that is of concern just request a non-dog friendly room maybe. When you have a hard working, results and service oriented staff (so hard to find these days) that is all that matters anymore to us and this place has it. We felt well taken care of in a new city, had a great 3 nights stay and would absolutely return.

Very nice hotel within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf and all other amenities. Excellent breakfast buffet with some different items every day. Good but more standardized dinner service. They have an excellent bar. Valet parking is required on site and notcheap. However, given the crimes in the area (smash & grabs, etc), it is the safest bet.

Pro: Location is right in the middle of walking distance to most major tourist attractions Valet staffs are nice and Valet parking price is worth it if you have your own car to avoid break-in. SF is currently well known for ppl staying stuffs in your car. Cons: No water bottles provided in the room No bathroom amenities provided Hidden service charges that I have no idea about. Staffs are neither friendly nor rude. I wish they are more friendly.

We loved our stay it this Marriott location. From the valet to the restaurant staff it was all a wonderful experience. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here for 2 nights. It was close to the wharf, close to cable cars, close to everything we wanted to do while in San Francisco. The price point was very nice as well. Would HIGHLY recommend and we'll be back again.

Decent hotel with clean rooms and well kept overall. Our rooms were ready earlier than quoted, it’s centrally located to a lot of stuff and is a short walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. They did have parking on site. I will say (and I don’t think this is their fault, I just think it’s the city in general), it was expensive to stay here. Parking was 64 dollars per day (although very convenient), the food was astronomical (I have a big family so it was like over 100 dollars each time we ate in the hotel restaurant) but they did provide a 40 dollar food credit for each room. San Francisco is just an expensive city though so I don’t fault the hotel for it. Their stuff was friendly and accommodating. They stored our luggage for us before and after we checked out so that we wouldn’t have to leave it in our car (we were told that was a bad idea with crime in San Francisco being what it is).

I had a fantastic experience at San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf. Starting at check in, the staff was so friendly and helpful. This continued throughout my stay as staff would encounter me in the hallway and wish me a nice day. Upon entering the room, I found it was large, comfortable and extremely clean. I especially appreciated the seating area with a large, comfy sofa and big screen television. This area was a real sanctuary for me at the end of a busy day. The bed was also very comfy with very nice linens. Overall a real winner that I would definitely stay in again.

Stayed in the area for the holidays which is in a great location, located in walking distance to the fisherman's wharf which is great for shopping restaurants and other downtown San Francisco attractions. The offer discounted vouchers for shops and meals in the hotel. The parking fee was a little high but the biggest disappointment was upon checking in with my service animal I was asked invasive questions as to what specifically is my disability while I was showing my disability authorization. To make matters worse, after correcting them by informing the employee/manager they can't ask those questions, they had an attitude. The other services in the hotel was pretty good.

Even upon requesting a day prior to arrival at 12pm and checking in 2 days prior on the app along with being a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member our rooms weren’t ready and we had to roam in an unknown city with family while very tired from a long flight and no place to freshen up, no one there at the bell boy desk to take our bags for a while as they had 1 person doing Valet and bell boy. Seems as if they are understaffed, the ambiance of the hotel feels off as it feels very desolate. Only the one staff at reception who welcomed had a very arrogant attitude(her name was Carmen), otherwise the rest of the staff were very pleasing and welcoming including the driver, manager, concierge and bell boy. I would rate this the worst experience I’ve had at any Marriott in the globe, I’ve stayed at multiple Marriott hotels around the world and I can say that none of them have been below 5 star except this one.

The hotel has a great location for those looking to enjoy the region of the piers, a few blocks from the fishermen wharf and 39. You can walk to the 33 where you get the ferry to alcatraz , near by you have the cable car and also tram and buses . I found the hotel service a little bellow my expectations as an ambassador member. Breakfast was basic, bar was good . Rooms, amenities and shower were good too I recommend for those looking for a stay near this region

So this hotel is walking distance to the Embarcadero, little Italy, and downtown. I gave three star simply for the cleanliness. & location. Amenities could be better - our soap dispenser was near empty with very little water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was good and you can’t take it up to your room 😒

I' stayed here 11 years ago and I'm back again. Great quality never changes at the Marriott. Our room was large and very clean. Staff is very friendly. Bar staff is fantastic. Shout out to Darlene at the bar who made us feel so welcome and she worked a busy room like a trooper. Hope to come back in another 11 years!

Everything we would expect in a Marriott hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. John, at the concierge desk, absolutely *made* or trip. He helped book some great tours and provided invaluable suggestions. The one area I could see would be the lack of vegan options at the restaurant.

Overall a good option because of its location next to Pier 39 and Fisherman’s wharf. Used my points to book a room here. Got a junior suite, it’s doesn’t have a sofa bed. Really surprised to hear that. Their parking is around $70/night for valet. I have a electric car and they don’t have chargers, really surprised to hear that in this day and age when they charge $70 to charge.

Great location at fisherman's Wharf, easy walk to the wharf, the cable car, trader Joe's and public transport right at the door. The travel concierge was very good, helping us book tours and helping us get around. Early check in cost us $40 which I think is a bit over the top when you're paying 3-400 per night to stay. Rooms nice and clean. No pool/spa though. It does have a gym. Restaurant only open for breakfast and dinner no lunch service.

The service at this hotel is unbeatable. My mom and I stayed here for 4 days and the staff was so kind. Very clean and safe. Wonderful location to enjoy fisherman's wharf. They have great coffee and the bar is top knotch. The gym was fantastic too! Also the concierge and front desk staff was super helpful with directions and any questions. I love Marriott!!
