Good rates, friendly staff, clean rooms, only downside is the neighborhood ( but let's stay positive and believe in progress. ) I was left alone and not bothered by the neighborhood locals. So I would suggest to just keep your eyes open and don't stay out to late. Bring a friend if it makes you feel safer but you should be fine for the most part. Once inside your good. Not saying it's dangerous just saying it's best to just keep on walking. Like I said great rates and clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you

So I found this place on priceline. Not too expensive and easy to locate. The interior design of this spot is modern and high end and redesigned to a boutique level. Check in was short and sweet. The area is REALLY bad tho. Due to how the streets are marked you can't park in front to unload your car so you gotta park on eddy and walk over which is a tad dangerous considering someone was leaning all on my vehicle when I came back a second round to get my stuff. Big no-no. You GOTTA pay for parking which there is a garage nearby but he wants 85 dollars overnight lol he'll no. I parked where I was on mason for 35 bucks. The rooms are very small and dormish. The bed takes up much of the room, it's "pathy" and not too much to do inside but literally sleep and watch tv. The heater/ air will get to the temp you want fast considering the size of the room. The lighting is weird and the headboard is too long and also a little weird. There's a little locker style storage side dressers next to the beds and a coffee maker that take up too much room. There is also a rack to hang your jackets and coats up on also. The bathroom is nice but the shower is directly over your head and too narrow for wide movement. It's taller than it is wider but not bad.

The rooms are small, which I had read reviews about but not so small that you can move around. Probably not the best sized room if you're looking to spend a lot of time in your room. Well designed. A fantastic value. You can't expect a 5 star hotel if you're paying these low prices. I liked having access to nescafe. It's loud but it's city life so you should expect that...bring earplugs if you're not used to noise while sleeping. Location is in the tenderloin so you should know what you're getting...it's great walking distance to a lot of tourist activities and the Bart.

The hotel is located in a rough area. A large homeless population there makes quite a bit of noise at night. The room was pretty nice, but there were a few things not right, like the windows wouldn't fully latch so a lot of noise from the street got in. Was a comfortable stay, but not a nice area to walk around

I would never stay in this hotel again. I placed a do not disturbed sign on the door to come back to the room to find the cleaners had been in there cleaning.. well if thats what you would call it. My personal belongs had been stolen the room only half cleaned. I spoke to the manager that night who was to follow up next day and return my call. I have made several calls to speak to the manager who will not speak to me and still didn't call me back. Tiny rooms and location of the hotel is also not in a great part of the city. Don't waste your money staying here.

I would ever stay here again. I put a do not disturbed sign out and the cleaners still come in your room and took my personal belongings. I had to fight with the front desk just to get a manger on the phone, after talking with the manager that night, he was to call me back in the morning with an answer on why our room had been entered, i got no return call. I made several calls throughout the day and the manager would speak to me or return my calls to discuss the situation beyond very poor service. The area the hotel is in is not a great area, much safer to stay 2 blocks away from here. Don't take any chances sraying at this establishment.

Hotel EPIK is an EPIK FAILURE! DO NOT STAY HERE! • Rated a 4 star hotel and was really 2-stars at best My room had a window that didn’t close properly, a broken air conditioner, damaged window coverings, the shower was missing the handle to turn on the water, a broken outlet cover with exposed wires, no refrigerator, no in-room safe, no restaurant or bar, not even a vending machine or place for ice. • Centrally located in an unsafe neighborhood Uber was a requirement and my driver said to me “you in the wrong neighborhood”. I was approached for money from a guy with a broken crack pipe in his hand when I standing in front of the hotel. A women on the corner was slumped over with a needle sticking out of her arm. The streets are full of trash and homeless camps. I didn’t feel safe walking. • Unknowledgeable staff and lack of a manager The only people working the front desk were not regularly there and were unprofessional. They were not aware of the hotel layout, how to get coffee for the room, or how to contact the manager. I was told “the manager is unavailable because he was sleeping”, for 3 days! I came into the hotel and the person who was supposed to be at the front desk was sleeping on the sofa in the lobby. • Lack of respect for guests Construction work that started at 5:00AM with buzz saws and disassembly of furniture being scraped across the floors and down the halls. I complained and was told, “this is the time they start”. A false fire alarm at 4:17am. The only staff member of the hotel, the front desk person, did not know what to do; he didn’t apologize to the guests or even provide information that it was okay to go back to our rooms. With respect to my broken shower, I was told, “maintenance doesn’t work on the weekends”. I stayed here 2 nights of what was supposed to be a 5-night stay. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. The only positives I would give this hotel was that my room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Nice hotel with great value. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, but the location of the hotel is also adequate for travelers. The room was clean and nice. Highly recommend this place when you're looking for a good, affordable place!

Worst hotel experience ever. Would give 0 stars. Horrifying neighbourhood, tiny rooms, rude and condescending staff. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

My husband and I checked in despite the fact that the building was surrounded by the homeless and smelt of urine so bad but once we got into the hotel it smelt just as bad of urine. Then we were given our keys to our room, got to the room and it had a do not disturb sign and very loud music playing like someone was having a party. So we went back down, got another room given to us and went to the room. It was way smaller than I expected. There wasn’t even room for two suitcases in the room. Then the power went out and that was our final straw. We lasted 30 min from check in to check out.

If you're looking for a short stay in SanFran, and you just want to look for a hotel that's safe, clean, and reliable to sleep during the night, and explore the city during the day time. Look no further because Hotel Epik will be the perfect choice. It's extremely hard to find a hotel that's affordable (during the time of trip), that has your own personal bathroom instead of a shared bathroom. The room is definitely on the smaller side, but it was more than enough for what me and my friend needed. The people working at the front desk is super nice and helpful and accomodating. They provided us with extra comforters and coffee for the room. It's in a relative safe area (compared to the neighboring areas).

Little rooms, but no problem. The rooms are very clean and operational. I just wasn't to hip about the area, lots of homeless people. But my stay was great, FYI no garage

Great for the price! Felt clean and staff were really nice. Location isn’t great and we could hear people stomping around in other rooms but when we called front desk to complain about the noise they were really nice and did what they could to help.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed our free drink in the bar. The room smelled very clean like fresh cleaner. All linens were white and fresh. The room was modern, small but had everything I needed. The toiletries were very nice. Great selection of channels on TV. It was good value for the money. The espresso machine was bomb. The remote AC was very handy at night. There are cool tablets with your name on display welcoming you to your room. I would stay here again.
