Horrible Experience! In our room we could discover several mice in the heating system. The floor was also full of mouse droppings. We informed the manager, who claimed that no one had complained about mice in the room yet. However, this is a lie - there are already Google reviews from 3 years ago which report mice in the room. We were offered to change the room or leave the hotel and get our money back. We were able to photograph the mice, there were several. They were also running all over the room. We decided to leave the hotel and ask for a refund. The receptionist then did threaten us that there would be consequences for us if we publicized that the hotel had a plague of mice. Conclusion: adverse conditions, cheeky rude staff, health risk from mouse droppings. Even apart from that, the hallways and lobby were very dilapidated.

Adequate. You get what you pay for, and I got a room in the desirable SF Marina district.....for $76. It was uncluttered by amenities such as shampoo, coffee/tea, a working elevator, or any parking. The room was clean and modern, and in a time of nearly non-existent and unused land telephone lines, they added a $2.25 "phone fee", which is laughable. Perhaps the idea is that you will call the front desk for service/assistance so you don't have to go down two flights for in person help, and that eventually the phone fees will be used to pay for the elevator repair......🙄

Absolutely loved our stay at the marina inn. The room was amazing and the views were great. Loved the roof access definitely a vibe. The halls and stairs were under renovation but that’s not even a problem imo. The owners are great people and very kind. Great fire escapes outside the windows that provide a nice sitting area. The surrounding neighborhood was great and felt very comfortable in the area. There’s a park down the street which is a nice walk and some nice coffee shops that are great in the mornings. Bus stop is only 2 blocks away which is great. Will definitely be staying here again. Also the rooms just needed a little wipe down with a Kleenex and a little diy but other than that, we had a fan, a nice little box tv, and some beautiful mirrors. The showers were clean enough.

The location was the ONLY thing that was good about the hotel. The first room they put us in had evidence of bed bugs. They dismissed us until my boyfriend showed them his pest control license. Then the clerk admitted that they knew about them but thought they had it under control. None of the amenities worked (the elevator, tv, hot water, etc). There was no housekeeping and we were only given two towels. The bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke and as someone who has quit smoking, it made it almost impossible to shower and relieve myself. The door didn’t even have a handle. The hotel was disgusting and there was hair leftover from the last guests in the shower.

I’ve read all the negative review but not really sure what you expected from 2 star hotel. I personally was pleased with location and room was clean. I needed something for the night and this place was perfect and cheap. Also the location is great, before check out I did a nearby walk around. Stuff was nice too!

The marina inn was a very comfortable stay! The surrounding area felt like a safe and tight knit community. The room was cozy and perfect for someone who needs a decent stay that focuses mainly on the city. It gets the job done and the staff was very kind and flexible.

I loved the marina inn! Stayed here for 3 nights for a short trip and loved it. The neighborhood and the historic « old » feeling were the highlights for me. It was under construction when I went, so it was definitely on the « rustic » side but it was cheap!! Will be gorgeous when the construction is all done for sure.

Scam hotel, avoid. I booked this hotel as a solo female customer and asked immediately if i could use the facilities after check out as I had a long stopover (hence needing a hotel). They read my message but didn't reply so I assumed all ok. In the morning of my stay they told me I could not use the facilities unless I paid for another night and would not let me cancel as I was now in the 24 hour window. Tried to blame Expedia's messaging system. Dishonest. Also very dangerous to put women in the position of a 10 hour wait at an airport minding their luggage alone. I spent 30 minutes trying to reason on the phone and also sent an email requesting they review the situation before I reviewed. Not a word. Basically scamming you to turn up and then throwing more costs on you. Do not stay here.

Terrible. In construction. No refund. Staples and nails are exposed. No carpet and just unfinished floorboards. Took forever to even check us in. Rooms look nothing like the pictures. Dirty rooms. Really sketchy place.

If it wasn’t cold, I’d just as soon have slept outside. I’m so disappointed with anyone who could give this anything higher than 1. First of all the, the first room we stayed in had bed bugs. Posted photos of the mattress. I’ve worked in pest control for 10 years, those are fecal blood stains from bed bugs. When I confronted the manager he lied about it. I showed him my license. He then immediately said oh he is so sorry, he thought they had it under control in that room. Room 206 By the way, avoid it. He reluctantly switched our rooms. None of the amenities work up to and including the elevator. The hot water…oh wait there isn’t any. Around 5-6 AM a fight broke out other above us, or in the room adjacent. It lasted about an hour. And finally on our last day, I entered the bathroom to shower only to have to vacate instantly because it was full of the smell of cigarette smoke from above or below. I quit smoking 2 months ago. So, from the bottom of my heart, I hope this place burns down, so no one can possibly be fooled be semi decent rating (like we were) into staying here.

Quite frankly the worst, cheapest, grossest, hotel in San Francisco. The place has been under construction for 3 years. My room had no hot water and no towels stocked. And then when I complained to the manager he proceeded to tell me that my room did have hot water, as if I were lying.. I ran it for 20 minutes. These people are scumbags and have no clue about customer service. They should be put out of business. Horrible Horrible business owners and staff. A joke of a hotel, zero class. Do not stay here. Take your money elsewhere.

So long as you don't set your expectations to a 5 star hotel, you'll be ok. The room is clean and tidy. Feels like your hanging out in your dorm room. No one bothers you and the area is safe, lots of locals walking their dogs, no homeless hanging out, nice area.

This hotel was beyond bad, no carpet with exposed nails on all 4 floors (one caught my shoe), elevator out of order (had to walk up 4 floors), 1950s wall paper peeling off, original 1930s windows falling out, rotting food left in mini fridge that was unplugged and festering, bed in very poor condition. Bottom line this hotel is not fit for human occupation. If I could I would leave less then 1 star.

I stayed for three nights. My room was on the back side of the building. There were pigeons making strange noises all night outside of my room, so sleeping was a little tough. There wasn’t any heat, so it did get pretty cold at night. Linens and towels were stained and worn with a few hairs on the floor and sink area. Like others have mentioned, the bed squeaks. For hot water, I recommend getting up early and running it for about 10 minutes. That did it for me (my room did have toiletries). For the price and location, it gets 2 stars. The building has a lot of potential and the area is good. If Hotel Impossible was still on the air, I’d put this hotel at the top of the list. They need some professional help and advice for operations and renovations. This place could be a gem.

It’s 41 degrees and the desk attendant just handed me a tiny portable heater because the heaters in the rooms don’t work 😳 The staff is very kind and helpful, but the elevator doesn’t work either, the comforter is stained, the holes in the door haven’t been painted and there’s virtually no hot water. With a 21 hour layover, it does beat the floor of the airport!

We stayed at Marina Inn for four nights and really loved our stay. The desk staff were always friendly and approachable and held our bags up on our arrival and for a little while before we flew home. The hallways and our room had been newly remodeled and everything was clean and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the big windows. The location of Marina Inn was absolutely perfect for us. We loved walking down to Fort Mason and it is so close to the Pier. Most mornings we took a beautiful walk down to Fort Mason, along the water, to Ghirardelli Square or Fisherman's Wharf and then took transit to other areas of town if needed. The street Marina Inn is located on is spacious and very pretty. We felt very safe here and it would be hard to not staybhere again in the future. Had no problems getting an Uber to or from the hotel either. I really loved our stay here and hope you will give it a chance!!! I have absolutely no complaints. ♥️
