Room had multiple cockroaches, burnt mattress, and locks useless as someone broke into room easily in the middle of the night while we slept and stole a phone and laptop from our room. Hotel clerk said there was nothing he could do and didn't care to investigate, didnt care the locks werent secure. Wouldnt return

Good budget option in the heart of San Francisco. Great location. Friendly service. It's not The Ritz. It's affordable, well located, with clean rooms, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Considering ~$100 per night after tax plus it's location and state, definitely a winner for short-term accommodations.

Easy to access, right off freeway, and in a safe area. Arrived and my room wasn't clean yet, but they cleaned it well. Rooms weren't gross or smelly, and front desk was helpful. GOOD PARKING, in a gated lot with security guards. This is my 3rd time using this motel. Would use again.

Prices fluctuate a lot here depending on the day, but if you're looking for a chill spot where your guests can access room easily in a relatively safe area, this is a good place to stay.

Booked a room for the weekend the day before, upon arriving there was homeless people yelling at each other in the parking lot. A man walking around w/ a machete tucked in his pants🤦🏽‍♀️Welcome to the city. The gentleman at the counter spoke broken English & wasn’t the friendliest front desk person. The pool was closed. The ice machines were down. The vending machines weren’t working either. Breakfast is from 6-9 I believe. Parking was about $20-ish after taxes. The toilet didn’t work properly. You had to flush it 3-4 times for even pee to go away. The room wasn’t cleaned properly. It was a “non smoking room” that completely smelled like lingering smoke. The only decent thing about this hotel is the location to things I guess. Everywhere we went was 15 minutes tops. Other than that find somewhere else to stay.

The hotel was clean the location is pretty decent and room service was on their job every morning with a smile on their face. I actually was a little short on the deposit and the manager worked with me and accepted what I had. I found that to be really awesome because it's not often that you run into that kind of thing here in San Francisco to be honest with you! :-)! Nightlife is really close to South of market bars like slams and the DNA lounge and DNA Pizza and so forth! The area is really popping on Friday and Saturday nights lots of young people beautiful women and handsome men out and about having a good time in the Cubs doing the dive bar circuit etc! Lol! I actually live in San Francisco but needed to get away from my place for a few days and it was the perfect getaway which allowed me to de-stress and enjoy myself away from the burdens of my normal day to day life. I also had my 11 week old American bully puppy with me and they were very cool about him being there so if you have pets don't trip cuz they are very pet friendly. I recommend the Civic Center Inn on Folsom and 9th in San Francisco's South of Market district, very highly. The rates are reasonable, the rooms are clean, the service is good, and the location is awesome. So, plan your trip and have a good time in the city by the Bay.

Booked through Hotels.com, arrived at 2pm due to having an email telling me check in was at 10am, got told I had to wait an hour for my room to be clean and available, expected pool to be open but it was closed and dirty, I contacted hotels.com agents to cancel my booking and try to avoid being charged as I did not want to stay there and wanted to find a new hotel, they contacted front desk and front desk contacted their boss who said yes to waiving the charge, only to find out they still charged me the whole rate plus deposit in one go, and now are telling me they don't have any record of them waiving my fee and I am having to struggle through hotels.com agents to try and contact the property where they keep saying there is no one with the authority to confirm or approve what happened and give me a refund even after they agreed in person over the phone in front of me and my friends that I would not be charged. Terrible experience for not even having stayed there.

I booked a room through Expedia. The price was great and the location was perfect for what I wanted to do. When I arrived, I was told that my reservation had been canceled by the manger. They claimed that I had damaged their property in the past so they would not allow me to stay there. I have never damaged a hotel room. And I had never stayed there before, so I couldn't have done what they accused me of. They never contacted me to tell me that my reservation was canceled so I had to find when I arrived. Fortunately, they allowed my traveling companion to check-in under his name so we were able to stay. The front desk clerk said I had to speak to the manger to find out what damage and when. However the manager wasn't there and they did not offer to contact the manger for me. The room smelled like stale cigarettes and there were burn marks on the carpet. They bed was decent, but the pillows sucked. If you book here, know that you have to contact the hotel directly to confirm that they didn't cancel your reservation without notice. Also, know that you are getting smelly dated room. My advice, is to not stay here.

I had higher expectations than I should’ve. Pool is closed due to “COVID” and so is breakfast. The desk workers were so kind and helpful! My room was quite nice but always smelled like cigarette and marijuana smoke after it was cleaned. There was literally only one usable outlet in the hotel room for charging a phone and it was in the bathroom. Very good option if you’re going for clean, safe, affordable and accessible to downtown!

I booked the hotel 1 week in advance and everything seemed great. My boyfriend and I arrived to check in we were advised of a security deposit and we understood. They also asked us to pay for parking which seemed a little off but okay. The rooms smelled, the carpet stinks everything was just bad when we arrived. At the day of check out I was advice by the gentleman checking in and checking out guest that the security fee was suppose to back to the account on Wednesday. Today is Wednesday and no fee was processed back to the account. My self and boyfriend called to get a status of that fee and was told that it takes 3-5 days. I understood about the days if it was properly advice when we checked out. But then he told us we should get it by Friday “hopefully” his words. Then stated it all depends on the bank. I would not recommend this place to any family or friends and definitely not coming back.

Great place for locals or adventurous travelers to stay a night or two. The rooms vary a little bit from room to room, sometimes the TV remote isn't programmed for the TV which is annoying. The last room I stayed at did not have a smoke detector. Super close to SoMa bars and nightlife, making it a lively place to stay. Check with the managers, sometimes you can get really good rates.

The staff is great and very accommodating. We've stayed here 3 times in the last year and will continue every time we visit San Francisco. They also have great parking for a small additional fee.

The room was clean enough. It could use a deep cleaning. There were burn marks on the carpet. The vending soda and ice machine were all inoperable. That was pretty lame.

First most I would like to thank the front desk staff for there professional and friendly demeanor. If you are looking for Safety and a clean quiet family friendly room then you chose the right place. The price is right, one of the lower priced hotels in the area. I was taken aback due too the heated pool on sight and how nice and clean the room is. Thank you for making me and my family feel comfortable and making our stay safe, and family friendly. We will definitely stay again and will be reffering friends and family too the Civic Center Moter inn.

Definitely won't be staying here again. The rooms were dated, smelled of old cigarette smoke, and not nearly as clean and we'd have liked. Bed was very uncomfortable with pillows not much bigger than throw cushions. The WiFi was not reliable and often stopped working all together. The location was loud and other guests were loud. People were slamming doors, yelling, kids were screaming in the hallway. The best part was a relatively secure parking lot.

Great clean rooms at an affordable price! Staff was incredibly kind and friendly. Also left my airpods after the stay and they held it for me at the location so I could pick it up. 10/10 would recommend.

This hotel is always featured on the big name hotel booking sites and typically the rooms can get down to 50% of the original price Great for a cheap stay with moderate amenities but there are more exciting places in better locations in San Francisco. If you are local to the area and need a reasonably priced clean place to say then this is for you

Super easy to book a room last minute for a couple nights. Front desk was super helpful and accommodating for storing our bags for a few hours after check-out

I had the do not disturb sign on my door and room service still tried to get into my room. Thankfully i had the chain lock on the door as well. It was both scary and creepy though because whoever opened my door kept it open for a minute or so before closing it again. I didn’t react right away or even say anything because I got woken up by it and being a woman by myself in the room deterred me to do so as well. Every night there was a homeless person screaming outside the hotel about going in the rooms and hurting people. The walls are so thin that you can hear people in the other rooms just talking. The room itself was clean when we got it which was good. The closet did smell bad though like kind of wet and dusty. I wouldn’t suggest to walk around this area at night by yourself at all. It is conveniently close to a lot of fun spots, but even for the 2-4 min drive I preferred to take an uber. The people at the front desk were nice though. The blankets are very thin like close to being a couple bed cover sheets. So i would suggest to bring your own or you could bring up the heat in the room. The bedroom has a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. This place does have a parking area that you can pay additionally to park. The price was about $22 a night. You drive through the entrance and the parking is towards the back and is closed off from the streets which is nice. Since the parking lot is accessible at all hours though I would still suggest to clear out your car. this is my first time writing a review for a place but felt important because the price for this place is so appealing but i feel like it’s fair that you fully know what you’re signing up for :)
