Yeh, this was not a good fit for us. 1. The property smelled of raw sewage off and on for the whole weekend. 2. After an exhausting initial conversation, we never saw the Innkeeper again. He vanished. Seriously, never. And that is probably best. 3. The phone number they post on web sites is not working. The working number is given to you upon arrival and is for 'urgent concerns.' 4. There was a 'bed' on site, but there was 'no breakfast.' Also, no advance phone call or email alerting us to the change, no coupons or vouchers. There was a communal mini-fridge and microwave for guests that we located. The communal sink did not work. No ice machine. No extra toilet paper. No extra towels. I could go on and on. It would have been helpful to know about all this in advance. 5. I did find that the posted license from the Health Department. It expired on December 31, 2020. 6. I also located the posted business license from the city. It expired on May 31, 2021. 7. Let's talk a tiny bit about the Innkeeper. I think he was the Innkeeper. He took our credit card, gave us the key, and then proceeded to shared his opinions on current affairs. You should know that he believes the COVID-19 Pandemic is fake. He literally said that. He told us we should take off our masks. He said the 'current administration' is the reason he can't serve food. With his words in our head, we bathed our room with disinfectant wipes and wore our masks around the property when we were not in our room. 6. The hotel does have a 24 hour advance cancelation policy. So buyer beware. Had we known any of these things in advance, we would have gone elsewhere. And once we found out the situation, we were already charged for our stay and were not in a position to afford a second place to stay.

Terrible customer service. We booked 3 months in advance to visit relatives that live near by and called the White Jasmine to confirm when we booked. We received an email 5 days prior to our confirmed trip that we were "canceled" with no additional explanation or offered help making other accommodations. JC was rude, dismissive, and did not answer repeated calls from us or the credit card company regarding a full refund. Not worth the time or hassle to stay here.

We spent 12 nights at the “White Jasmine Inn” in Santa Barbara, CA. in February 2019. We stayed in the Nouveau Suite. It was very clean and comfortable. A lovely bedroom with a separate sitting area and a private bath. Plush fresh towels were provided daily. We very much enjoyed the full breakfast each morning. During our stay, the breakfast buffet included fresh fruit bowls, quiche, caprese salad, smoked salmon, croissants, bagels, et al and very good coffee. At breakfast we met many friendly guests from all over and had many interesting and enjoyable breakfast conversations. The hosts, Marleis and John, were very hospitable and attentive. We happened to be visiting Santa Barbara during a cold spell and the gas burning stove kept our suite very comfortable. We would definitely stay at the”White Jasmine Inn” again during our next visit to Santa Barbara and highly recommend this charming bed and breakfast. We would give the “White Jasmine Inn” a five star rating.

Very decent location and close to downtown. The room was very clean. Breakfast items were not as many as a regular hotel but was enough for a garden dine-in and tasted good. The shower was ridiculously tiny for the well-built 6ft me. I was hitting the walls left and right. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the White Jasmine Inn. They are minutes from downtown, funk zone and the Santa Barbara Bowl. The host is very friendly and courteous. Place is clean and orderly. Very safe area. Great area to walk a great neighborhood. Day or night. Highly recommend a visit.

First of all, if you book here, you are paying for the privacy, the service, and the gardens all of which are ideal. You are not paying for a large room. Don't expect your room to be big at all. It is cozy, warm, simple and private. Everything was clean and there was good coffee in the room for the morning. My jacuzzi worked fine (just fill up the water to above the jet level BEFORE you turn it on!). I loved the decoration in my room (the Hideaway), too. It rained while I was in Santa Barbara and my room even had a little awning which looks like it was just recently put in. Quite thoughtful. Host was entertaining (if a little odd), and the kitchen staff was very nice and helped me get something special for my wife. I kept my door mostly open and sat in the gardens. The location is very quiet (residential) and there is some off-street parking as well. We are walking distance from a ton of shops as well. Wonderful experience and I would get the same place again.

Great location close to downtown and wharf. Our room was decent size and clean. Hosts try hard to please. Breakfast now in parlor which is better for socializing. Breakfast about average. Cottages are actually separate properties across and next to main house.

A welcome that was wonderful. The room we had was the Nautical room, very well decorated. Very comfortable bed. Very safe area . The host John was very informative and we had a great chat with him putting the world to rights. We'd definatly stay there again.

Stayed in Nouveau Suite for 3 nights this ast week of July, so Tuesday-Friday. I thought the stay was so, so. Had a much better experience in The Hideaway room several years ago when they brought breakfast to your room. Jacuzzi was nice & being able to locked the gate at night was reassuring as a single woman! I found the bed very uncomfortable & the breakfast was disappointing... I am not an egg or fruit person, so I had toast & tried the quiche. It was wet & nasty! I asked for some turkey b/c there was only ham out & I am not a ham eater! I asked the woman who was cleaning tables if I could have some turkey. She told me that they only had ham & have to be cost conscious about food going to waste. Didn’t think that was the best response to give a guest😢. I left to spend time w/my daughter (who lives in SB), & left the air conditioning on because SB was having a heat wave! I came back & housekeeper had turned it off & the room was very hot & uncomfortable I couldn’t stand it!! My daughter & I sat outside for a while to let the room cool down & I got eaten up by mosquitoes😝. Third night when I returned to my room couldn’t find my glasses I left on my bed. Next morning got up & caught the train, called the Inn to say that I couldn’t find my glasses & John (I guess the Innkeeper) passed me to the housekeeper (w/ limited English) to speak to. Not sure why he did that. Anyway; hung up & received a call about 15 minutes later from John about accusing his housekeeper of stealing my glasses, which was never the issue... I told him they were $20.00 glasses (meaning not a big issue), & he said “& now you want reimbursement”. He launched into a lecture about this & the honesty of his housekeeper, which I thought was totally inappropriate. By this time I was on the train & was beyond frustrated w/this whole situation & told him I thought the breakfast was pretty bad & hung up!! Bizarre experience....

Nice room ambiance- Victorian Suite. Lovely grounds and patio. Breakfast excellent. This B&B is very convenient to downtown restaurants, the Museum and bookstores. It’s located in an old and quaint neighborhood. Only flaw- very tiny bathroom and shower stall. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely property, full of character and great host. Plenty of info and chat at check in. Room super cute and really comfy. Would have liked to have breakfast served from 7am, even if it was just a small light selection.
