Must try! The authenticity of this mom and pop place, using family recipes, prepared and served with much care, puts this restaurant at the TOP of the list of Not to be Missed! Worth it. Worthy. I will dream about the meal we had… Indoor and outdoor seating. Great beer/wine list.

We needed a late lunch on Christmas Eve and not much was open... Stumbled on this place and VERY glad we did. From the time we entered, service was fantastic. The food was probably the best New Mexican food we've had. Pricing is in line with the quality of food. We had entrees, desserts, and coffees for 2 at about $80. This is just what we wanted in terms of authentic food in a small cozy atmosphere.

We had a wonderful dinner here! Visiting Santa Fe, we wanted an authentic New Mexican meal, everything was delicious, highly recommend the grilled corn appetizer and the stuffed sopapilla! The red chili was flavorful and perfectly spiced. Excellent service, great food and yummy margaritas made for a great evening, thank you!

We stayed in Santa Fe for 5 nights, 2 of those nights we chose to eat dinner here. Incredibly good authentic Mexican food. Must order the Elote, it is unbelievably good. Table side guacamole, Navajo Taco, Fajitas, Chimichanga, everything we ate was fresh, authentic, and outstanding. My son is a VERY picky eater/drinker and this place went out of their way to ensure he had food and drinks that he liked. I am rarely impressed enough with food quality to write a review, but this place is excellent.

Ambiance was very nice, our waitress was phenomenal, the food was amazing. The table-side quac might be the best I've ever had, and everyone's entree was delicious. Very fresh and flavorful. My one regret is that I couldn't bring my leftovers home because we're traveling and don't have space for them. So glad we came here.

Dog friendly Ambiance is a tight squeeze inside but absolutely perfect, patio 10/10. Service- Bella & Juaquin, you guys are amazing. Keep doing what you're doing 10/10 Food! Oh. My. God! This is such a wonderful restaurant. Locally sourced ingredients. Everything is made in-house, and it's phenomenal. Thank you guys so much for making our day! Chile rellenos 9/10 honestly, they were FABULOUS. It's a must try for sure if you're there. The pumkpin seed dip 10/10 never had anything like it. It totally blew my mind. Elote 9/10 carved table side, and the corn was so sweet and juicy, perfection. Tamales 8/10 definitely a must try, some of the best tamales I've ever had! Blood orange margaritas for the win!! PS, thank you so much for the recipe!

First time dining here, the food and service was outstanding. We were in a party of 20 (Santa Fe Foodies) and everyone was impressed plus, the restaurant did a great job serving this large group. The Chile En Nogada, a dish I always order when I see it, was the best I've ever had. Try it! The mole is also very good, unusual. Superb Flan. This is a new favorite for us.

I had Chili Rellenos, corn, fresh guacamole, rice, and beans. My wife had a steak fajita. We were there with friends and everyone enjoyed everything. Everything was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. It has a great atmosphere, and the red and green chili are wonderful. Do yourself a favor and go.

An authentic restaurant in Santa Fe. Our waiter explained and recommended dishes that were on the menu and others that were not but that they could prepare for us. Truly a 5 star waiter, he knew what he was talking about and cared that we were well served. The food is phenomenal, delicious! Beautiful experience in Chimayo restaurant, when we visit Santa Fe again we will delight ourselves with this restaurant with excellent customer service and delicious food. Great location too.

We had very nice food in Casa Chimayo: stuffed jalapeños and marinated bison (which was a special). The food was delicious and everything was very well priced. Removed a star for service as it was quite hard to get anyone’s attention. I would still recommend the place, the food was worth it.

Gracious, accommodating people in a charming, historic building. Unique flavors in expertly prepared food from old family recipes. Best meal we've had on our vacation.

My dad and I an a great dinner. The blue corn enchipalata was very flavorful and the Cochinita Pibil was tender and delicious. Stephanie and Michelle were very cheerful and helpful as the kitchen was likely short staffed. Overall an amazing experience and will visit again next time in Santa Fe.

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. We were so impressed. Very quick service. Our server Nikki was incredibly kind and attentive. We ordered the enchiladas, tamales, taco salad, chile en nogada, and stuffed jalapenos. Thanks for a great meal!

You’ll have a problem finding a parking 🅿️ However, the restaurant is situated at a central location which is pretty much walking distance to various hotels; the food is delicious and it does worth the effort. The food is homemade cooking and the jalapeño margaritas were delicious! Highly recommended it.

This is some of THE BEST food I’ve ever had. The owner came out and spent time with us. She and her husband pour their passion and love into their food and service. I do not normally write effusively positive reviews but, damn. Absolutely incredible!!! We were here after our wedding and they took exceptional care of us. We tried so many different items on the menu and each one was extraordinary. ❤️

My wife and I recently had an incredible dinner at Casa Chimayo Restaurante during the weekend of the Santa Fe Spanish Market in July 2023! When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, who informed us that her husband is the main chef. We sat right near the front entrance in the little courtyard, and it was a great outdoor spot to have a great meal. Even though they were busy, both the wife and chef-husband often came out to speak with us and tell us about the food they were preparing and presenting to us. We had the stuffed poblano with an incredible creamed walnut sauce for an appetizer, but the food and the flavors for our dinner were like nothing we’ve ever had in our 20 year history of visiting Santa Fe. It was the most personal and well-prepared dinner you could imagine. We had walked through the hallways of the La Fonda and saw the crowded fancy restaurant there, but THIS meal at Casa Chimayo blew that experience away. We wish this family all the best in their endeavor to bring such fabulous food to Santa Fe, and look forward to future visits!!

Excellent Mexican restaurant in 80-year old historic building. Artistic, colorful decoration. Tasty food. Enchiladas was superb. Soup was little mild. Zachariah was very pleasant taking time giving good suggestions.

Tried this place as it looked quaint and the menu was surprising. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa was otherworldly. It had just the right amount of heat and the flavor was remarkable. My wife got the lamb with mole. The plating was excellent and my wife loved the flavor of the lamb combined with the mole. She raved about it. I got the burrito adovada with red mole. Wow, an absolute flavor explosion. Even though I was pretty much full after half the burrito I just wouldn’t stop since we were in a hotel and I couldn’t take any back with me. None of that food was going to be left behind. I highly recommend this restaurant. I know I will return. And to top everything off, the walls are covered with amazing artwork, which is, appropriately, for sale. Just way above my price range.

Great Mexican food! Normally a taco guy but decided to try more traditional dish and was really happy I did. Service was great and female co-owner took my order and described the various specialties of the house...😁

The gem of Santa Fe! This is the place to go for diving into the culture of Northern New Mexico. The food, service, and atmosphere are top notch across the board! The eloté is a must, and the servers are ready with explanations and recommendations to ensure that you get exactly what you're hoping for. An excellent experience and a must-do for every trip back to Santa Fe!

A real honest to goodness New Mexican family owned eatery, immediately one of our favorites in Santa Fe. Delightfully eclectic decor, excellent properly spiced home style cuisine. 4.5 Stars, the serving staff was short handed tonight, did well considering the crowd.

This place was great!  The server greeted the table and gave a very brief history of the building.  He then gave great recommendations for an appetizer and drinks.  We chose 2 classic margaritas and a blood orange margarita and the recommended elote appetizer. Our table was given chips and salsa, both were phenomenal.   One of our party proclaimed it was the best salsa she ever had. The server returned with our drinks and took our order.  He made suggestions on what is popular and also his personal favorites.  We chose 2 of 3 of his recommendations. Our table was in agreement that the service and meals were great.  Additionally, we ordered a few beers and dessert (the flourless chocolate cake with red chili was amazing). Overall this place is perfect in my book.  Great service and good food.  The atmosphere was extremely inviting and interesting.   I would recommend anyone looking for a good traditional New Mexican meal.

Wow! What an amazing place to eat. We have eaten at several places on our visits to Santa Fe, and this was by far the best. The food was so flavorful and delicious. The service was top notch. The owner and his wife constantly checked on us to make sure we were pleased with the food. Yes, we were! We highly recommend this charming restaurant with wonderful food and service.

It’s our first night in Santa Fe and we came here on a recommendation of a friend. We wanted to eat more local and the history of the establishment was intriguing. Our waiter gave us some great recommendations and we went with the Elote Tableside, Blue Corn Huarache and the Conchinita Pibil washed down with spicy Jalapeno Margaritas. The food was excellent and very tasty. The drinks were spicy and refreshing. The only thing I could knock would be atmosphere. Where we were seated was in a high traffic area and it was distracting. It’s quaint and has charm and we would certainly try it again and maybe ask for a different area to sit. Highly recommend reservations on Saturdays.

My family and I went one day for lunch and absolutely enjoyed it. Our waiter was very nice and the food was amazing. We loved it so much we went to dinner the next night and it was the complete opposite. The hostess was the only saving grace. She was extremely nice and put in effort to make sure we were well attended to. The waitress and the waiter however decided our table was nothing to care about. We got little to no service from our waitress and was constantly left waiting and wondering when she would be back next. We had to get up twice to get our check. We also did get dessert to go and it tasted great but you can judge for yourself. All in all, great food but DON'T go to the dinner service.

Took a long time to be seated, despite our reservation and only a third of the tables busy. But, once seated we enjoyed the cozy surroundings and the drinks and food were tasty -- margaritas, queso, rellenos, and mole' enchiladas. The coconut flan was good, too.
