The worst experience during our stay in Colombia. They robbed us in a hotel room, someone took money which was hidden in different parts of our luggage. To not put suspicious they took just some part of them in different currencies. We tried to contact with hotel but without an answer or even simple sorry for what happened. From good part I can only say that hotel is good located and in normal conditions I could say that price is reasonable but we paid double.

We stayed here the night before setting off for the Ciudad Perdida trek and all I can say is that it was good preparation for the campsite conditions. The showers are cold and our toilet didn't flush. The beds have rubber mattress covers which I suppose is a must for the tropical conditions in Santa Marta. The air conditioning was fantastic which is the only positive thing that I have to say. The staff are polite but did not offer to help us up the stairs with our bags. There is no lift in the hotel. I would question the three star status of the hotel based on the room we stayed in.

This hotel looks far better online than it does in person. Positives: The Air con is good, the location is very central and the receptionist who works the evening shift can speak English + is helpful. Negatives: The shower pressure is like a leak, the shower drain clogs (both of these we asked them to fix and they didn’t seem to care), the staff during the day do not speak English and don’t try to translate, the beds are plastic and the breakfast is not great at all (which is a shame, because Colombia has some of the most delicious food I have tasted). The room we were in had one small window (rm 104) and is right near reception so expect to be up around 6.30 with all the commotion. It’s not what I would expect from a hotel you pay this sort of money for - do yourself a favour and go to Masaya Hostel around the corner and get a private room!

Bad experience at this hotel (rated as 3 stars according to booking). Rooms quite dirty and absolutely need a renovation. Staff was friendly and space for breakfasts is a nice terrace that we really liked. Really noise and in one of the most frequented streets for nightlife so really find an alternative if you want to have a good sleep.

Nice small hotel one block away from the port. Clean rooms and good service. Quiet clean street. Highly recommend it.

The rooms are clean and the mattress relatively comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast included eggs, coffee, juice, pan, cereal and fruit. There seemed to be various options for lunch but we only stayed one night and left before then. Meals were served overlooking the water.

Clean rooms with comfortable bed. Shower was a bit dodgy and the room had one tiny window. Our room was right near reception and was pretty noisy. Staff were nice and location was excellent 😊

My wife and I stayed at Tayromar in March 2015. The hotel was in the midst of a lobby renovation. Regardless, our stay was wonderful. The rooms were well kept, the food was excellent, and the staff was always friendly, even with my broken Spanish. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Very, very noisy hotel, and even more so if you have the unfortunate luck to get one of the rooms that face the street. It’s like there’s no glass in the windows; sound carries straight through. Staff are also not particularly friendly, though we’ve found this to be standard in Colombia. Rooms are clean, with air con, and wifi often works from your room, so if you don’t mind noise, the location of this hotel would make this a good option.

Nice hotel clean and central location. The stuff doesn’t speak English. No hot water. Air conditioning is very good. The Wi-Fi is doesn’t work good. In the second floor the Wi-Fi is doesn’t work at all. I recommend

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Super noisy, may as well sleep out in the street. The showers were cold and there were ants in my room. When I tried to get another room staff were super unhelpful. I ended up finding alternative accomodation
