GRINGO
SCAM
BEWARE
first
off,
this
place
deserves
5
stars,
really
a
great
atmosphere,
good
food
and
excellent
service.
I
went
on
a
Sunday
morning
and
they
happened
to
have
live
music
which
was
very
nice.
but
I
caught
them
doing
a
common
gringo
scam
I've
experienced
in
other
countries.
I
want
to
let
you
know
about
it
so
you
don't
get
scammed.
The
scam
is
that
if
you
ask
for
water
like
a
glass
of
water
with
ice,
they
bring
you
an
already
opened
glass
bottle
of
expensive
water,
and
try
to
pour
it
over
the
ice
before
you
notice.
It
should
go
without
saying
that
you
should
never
pay
for
a
bottle
of
water
that
is
just
brought
to
you
with
the
top
off,
and
you
don't
see
them
remove
the
top,
and
the
top
is
in
fact
nowhere
in
sight.
Even
if
for
some
reason
this
was
not
a
scam
and
they
were
legitimately
trying
to
give
me
this
fancy
water,
there's
absolutely
no
reason
to
show
up
at
the
table
with
the
bottle
already
opened.
I
could
easily
spot
that
they
were
doing
the
scam
version
because
of
the
water
level
in
the
bottle
come
up
close
to
the
top,
which
would
be
higher
than
it
would
be
when
you
purchased
the
bottle
They
keep
a
handful
of
these
bottles
around
and
fill
them
with
water
from
the
regular
jugs
of
filtered
water.
It
was
even
the
exact
same
brand
of
water
that
they
did
this
scam
with
in
Columbia,
which
made
it
all
the
more
amusing.
Remember
life
is
a
game,
everybody's
playing.
Will
still
go
back,
best
place
I've
been
to
in
Antigua
so
far
overall.
Edit:
I'm
not
referring
to
the
clear
resealable
water
bottle
they
use
to
do
refills.
Also
I
am
assuming
they
would
charge
me
for
it
because
that
happened
before,
I
didn't
take
the
risk
and
stopped
them
before
they
poured
it.
