Great Mexican restaurant in prime location. We had two different types of tacos and they were great. Very friendly staff and the bar looks extraordinary. We will come back in the evening to try the tequilas, mezcal’s and margaritas. Definitely worth to go

Great food and reasonable prices. We had to wait circa 40 mins for a table so book ahead but the food can’t be faulted

Fantastic night. The drinks were poured well and the food was spot on. Can't wait to go back! The Frida mugs were also a special reminder.

Frida’s was one of my favorites in Antigua. Everything about it is top notch; atmosphere, food, staff. We went during the weekend brunch and enjoyed some live music and then went back during the week. Definitely a must if you’re in town!

Great spot near the arch with an entire wall of mezcal! Some of the best guacamole in town, and the tuna tacos are a surprise delight! A must-visit spot when in Antigua.

Every time I come to Antigua, Guatemala I have to eat at Fridas. The location is amazing, right outside the town center surrounded by volcanos. The food is some of the best you will ever eat. I always order the plate of tacos. The decorations and music inside set the tone for a fun evening in one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been in.

Wonderful food, each bite with layers of flavor. We split puerco pibil sopes and gobernada tacos. Both were outstanding, paired with a local IPA. Service was impeccable! Wish we were here longer. This restaurant alone is a great reason to visit Antigua, although there are many!

Amazing taco restaurant. We enjoyed every bite! We ordered the dish of several combinations and all of them were interesting. Afterwards we tried the amazing maracuya cheesecake, that was just absolutely delicious! Thank you.

GRINGO SCAM BEWARE first off, this place deserves 5 stars, really a great atmosphere, good food and excellent service. I went on a Sunday morning and they happened to have live music which was very nice. but I caught them doing a common gringo scam I've experienced in other countries. I want to let you know about it so you don't get scammed. The scam is that if you ask for water like a glass of water with ice, they bring you an already opened glass bottle of expensive water, and try to pour it over the ice before you notice. It should go without saying that you should never pay for a bottle of water that is just brought to you with the top off, and you don't see them remove the top, and the top is in fact nowhere in sight. Even if for some reason this was not a scam and they were legitimately trying to give me this fancy water, there's absolutely no reason to show up at the table with the bottle already opened. I could easily spot that they were doing the scam version because of the water level in the bottle come up close to the top, which would be higher than it would be when you purchased the bottle They keep a handful of these bottles around and fill them with water from the regular jugs of filtered water. It was even the exact same brand of water that they did this scam with in Columbia, which made it all the more amusing. Remember life is a game, everybody's playing. Will still go back, best place I've been to in Antigua so far overall. Edit: I'm not referring to the clear resealable water bottle they use to do refills. Also I am assuming they would charge me for it because that happened before, I didn't take the risk and stopped them before they poured it.

Very modern, quite touristy but the tacos were amazing! I kind of wish it had the indoor garden all other restaurants around here have- but alas. Other than that- great spot to try!

We were here a couple of times during our last visit in Antigua. The staff was very friendly and service was good. Sometimes they get a lot of customers and they have a little trouble with the service. Food is good and drinks are refreshing! Our favorite part of the spot was the decor All over they have Fridas art 🖼 The location is good just some steps away from the Santa Catalina famous arch.

Cool trendy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. The WiFi is slow and you need it to look at the menu. Good spot to grab some tacos while you explore.

My friends and I (6 total) arrived at 8:53 pm on a Wednesday night and were seated within 5 minutes. We sat upstairs which is very nice; service was good but could’ve been better. We had to ask for water a few times and half of the table didn’t receive glasses but our server was good in answering questions about the menu. My only negative about the food was the consistency of the queso fundido; the queso seized up and made it hard to eat with chips. Now the shrimp tacos were delicious and I ate them all !

I was pleasantly surprised by Fridas! It's very close to the Santa Catalina Arch so the outside was pretty full of tourists. But the food was delicious and the atmosphere was really chill. I would definitely come back when I'm back in Antigua

If you are wanting amazing Mexican food go here!! My friend and I were absolutely starving after working 14+ hours at the clinic. This restaurant did not disappoint, you might need to know basic Spanish to get around, however our server spoke English. I got the enchiladas with a side of beans and rice. The water does cost money, they gave us each a bottle. The enchiladas were absolutely delicious and enough to not buy another meal. The place was decorated very cutely and can be a romantic setting. We went at night and was reeeeaaly loud that was the reason for the 4 stars on atmosphere. I felt that I had to shout in order to be heard.

Very nice staff and well decorated atmosphere. This was our second time there in a week, since we loved it so much. I tried both vegetarian tacos and became a fan! He tasted the fajitas and the tacos governador and love it. We finished with a churros ice cream that was amazing. Definitely recommend it!

We celebrated new years eve at Fridas, the staff was quite hectic and stressed and I would have preferred if they assigned more time per seating. The food was fantastic and the liveband was really something else this night. Fridas is a very open and accepting bar in central Antigua and I can really recommend a visit if you are in town.

Fantastic food and drinks. Had breakfast and lunch here, and both were amazing. Fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Spicy margarita was delicious, although you need to wash it down with a Gaillo!!

After touring Antigua we were ready to quench our thirsts. We made our way to Fridas, a Mexican restaurant which was a top choice by Tripadvisor, Lonely Planet, Fodors and more. Dedicated to the infamous artist, Frida Kahl, this brightly colored and ever-busy bar-restaurant was the perfect resting spot for our lively group. I tried our first Gallo cerveza which is a Guatemalan National beer. Fridas is also known for having the best margaritas and Mezcal drinks in town so Ron ordered the house margarita. It came in a giant mug filled with a double margarita and you get to keep the mug. After a few beers and the giant margarita we were brave enough to order a Mezcal shot served with crispy crickets as a chaser. We later returned for dinner for some of the best tacos and guacamole in town.

Really cool place with tasty (vegetarian) nachos. The fish in my baja tacos was dry, not seasoned and the breading was soggy. It's the atmosphere that saves this place.

A place to eat Mexican style tacos. It is delicious. However, in the evening, it can be crowded and a little noisy, so it can be hectic. The staffs are kind.

Like the name suggests, Fridas brought proper Mexican (Oaxacan) cuisines to Antigua. Food is finger licking good and service is high standard!

I’m taking some time out to write this review especially for DENNIS! Wow! What an amazing server! He was so kind and respectful of my order double checking that there was no pork in the tacos! He recommended I order the shrimp tacos that comes with bacon but he Asked them to be removed. What a great choice! I really appreciate him going out of his way to make sure I belong in the restaurant and for me that was priceless! Thank you Fridas for having me! The meal and ambiance is one of a kind! Hope to visit again very soon!!! Keep up the good work!

Great Service, tasty food and good priced drinks. The waiter was very nice about taking my vegan order. The food came out hot, perfect amount and completely vegan. Loved it.

I visited this place at the end of a long day of tourist activities in the Antigua, Guatemala area. This was one of the few places in the area that was open for a late-ish dinner, at around 8:30PM. The wait time after placement of orders was a little long, but very well worth the very tasty food that was served. The appetizers and beverages that filled me up during the wait time were very filling and pleasing to the taste buds. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the place accepts credit cards for payments. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The kitchen staff are very friendly too. I STRONGLY recommend this place to anybody in the Antigua, Guatemala area looking to quench their thirst and kill their hunger, either individually or as a group, during odd hours of the day when most other places are closed or packed beyond capacity.

Good food but horrible service. We were seated in the dining area off the main room. Our server, a young man, served tables in both the main room and the secondary dining area. Those of us unlucky enough not to have his full attention received inadequate service. He seemed distracted. We were an afterthought. We ordered two drinks and were never asked if we wanted a second round. Our one (1) paper napkin was in tatters halfway through dinner, but we never saw our waiter long enough to ask for another. He never checked up on us, never asking if we needed anything. When we finally caught his attention, we asked for water. A few minutes later he brought us one (1) glass of lukewarm water, did not remove my empty beer bottle, and did not ask if I wanted another. When we caught his attention again, we asked for the second glass of water. He dropped off our second lukewarm glass and disappeared again. Good service is just as important as good food, but the management at Fridas seems to have forgotten that. Servers should not be assigned two different dining areas, especially if the place is full. Getting caught short handed is the manager's fault (if this was indeed the situation here). Considering the current state of affairs due to the Covid pandemic, restaurants should do their best to provide good service to those of us willing to dine out.

The place is amazing! Food was super tasty and the whole experience was great. Emilio was very friendly, easy to talk to (also super cute) and gave us some tips on things to do and see. Would recommend 10/10.

👍👍 A must-see and do in Guatemala. This is not only a restaurant but also a museum and garden. The food is phenomenal. The views from all angles of this large location are amazing. If there is a long wait to eat, don't worry. It takes about an hour to walk the property and enjoy what it has to offer.

👍👍 We love Luna de Miel and have come here three times on three separate visits to Antigua- we live in the capital. My husband has ordered the Chipotle twice, and the Tejana.
